In a fight heavyweight contest featuring previously undefeated light heavyweight, Travis Toledo took an entertaining four-round majority decision over Kendall Cannida.

 

 

 

Both guys had their moments in the spirited brawl, but it was Toledo who came away with the victory to raise his mark to 3-0. Cannida of Philadelphia drops to 2-1.

 

Vincent Floyd used two 1st round knockdowns to catapult himself to a four-round unanimous decision over Ricky Nuno in a welterweight clash.

 

 

 

Nuno made a great effort after the 1st round, but he dug himself too far of a hole to catch Floyd.

 

 

 

Floyd of Philadelphia is 4-5-1. Nuno of Bethlehem is 2-2.

Philadelphia, PA (Medi 27, 2018) – This past Tuesday night, one of the most thrilling fights in recent memory, Anthony Mercado ac Victor Vazquez waged an eight-round war for the ages that saw Mercado overcome a horrible cut over his right eye, a knockdown, and multiple instances where the fight could have been stopped to persevere and somehow comeback to win the fight.

Mercado was cut badly over his right in round two from an accidental headbutt. Yn rownd tri, Mercado landed a hard flurry on the ropes that forced Vazquez into the ropes, and referee Gary Rosato ruled that ropes kept Vazquez from being knocked down and administered an eight-count. Vazquez fought back in round four and landed a couple of booming left hooks that rocked Mercado.

 

 

 

The continued to trade heavy shots at will, which led to some brutal exchanges with each guy landing some vicious power punches. In round six, Vazquez landed some booming shots that had Mercado in trouble for much of the round, One such flurry had Mercado seemingly a punch or two a way from getting stopped. At the end of the round, Vazquez landed a flush left hook to the jaw that put Mercado plummeting to the canvas. Mercado got up just as the bell rang, and he stumbled to the corner. Vazquez went in for the finish in round seven, but Mercado, with blood now covering the whole right side of his face, was able to stabilize himself and work his way back into the fight. Mercado made it all the way back, and was able to box his way to win the decisive eighth round.

 

 

 

Mercado, 140.8 lbs of Puerto Rico won by scores of 77-74 ac 76-75 twice to raise his mark to 12-5. Vazquez, 137.9 lbs of Yonkers, New York fought a great fight, but now falls to 10-5.

 

 

 

“I just thought of my dad. I thought the fight was close to being stopped. It was not easy, he is a good boxer. I did not feel the cut. I will have to talk to my team, but money talks for a rematch,” said Mercado

 

 

 

Vazquez said,”It could of went any way. He is a good opponent. He is tough. We both have power. We both came ready for the fighter. Today we are both winners.”

Bethlehem, PA (Ebrill 17, 2018) -This past Friday night at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center, junior lightweight O'Shaquie Foster got a career boosting win as he defeated Frank De Alba via eight-round majority decision in a crowd-thrilling fight.

 

 

 

 

The six-bout card was promoted by King’s Promotions.

 

 

 

 

Foster got off to an early lead, as he featured an accurate straight hand. De Alba got back in the fight as he decided to stand toe-toe with Foster, and on many occasions, he gave as good or even better then he received. Neither fighter took a backward step, which was much to the delight to the crowd that congregated at The Sands Bethlehem Event Center.

 

 

 

 

The furious action continued, De Alba began to leak some blood from his nose in the fifth frame.

 

 

 

 

Foster of Houston, Texas won his third bout in a row as he took two cards by scores of 79-73 ac 78-74, while a 3rd card read even at 76-76.

De Alba Darllen, Yf. will be making his first start in over a year as bouts fell through due to opponents not making weight, and De Alba suffering a cut in training just days before his last scheduled in February.

 

 

 

De Alba has been working hard through all of his bad luck.

 

 

 

“My training has been great. It’s been a long time. I was scheduled for November and my opponent missed weight by 14 bunnoedd. Then in February, I got cut six days before the fight. Through it all, I have been training. I took a week off, and then I was right back in the gym, and for that, I don’t think I will have any ring rust. I have been training for fights in the last year, it may say I haven’t fought, but I have been staying busy,” Said De Alba.

 

 

 

In Foster, he is facing a tough fighter who hopes to resurrect his career after a couple of losses set-back the one-time touted prospect.

 

 

 

“Foster is a slick fighter. I have seen him on film two or three times. He is a good test, a risky fight, but this is what this sport is all about. I need these fights to get to the next level. I just have to take the fight to him.”

 

 

 

De Alba feels that a win on Friday night will not only get him his 6th consecutive win, but a significant fighter later in the year.

 

 

 

“Whatever a win does, it will lead to something better in my career. Hopefully a regional title fight and a world ranking.”

 

 

 

Friday night will be the 5th start for De Alba at The Sands Bethlehem Event Center, ac mae'r 30 year-old is ready to put in a good performance for his fans.

This will be his 1st bout in just over a year as in his last bout where he won a eight-round unanimous decision over Ryan Kielczewski (26-2) on April 4th at The Sands Bethlehem Event Center. Foster, 24 mlwydd-oed, was a highly decorated amateur standout. Foster advanced to the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials where he lost to unbeaten contender, Joseph “Jo-Jo” Diaz. Cyn hynny, Foster was a 2010 Pencampwr Cenedlaethol PAL, a five-time Ringside National Champion and two-time National Junior Golden Gloves Champion.

 

 

 

Foster is a six-year professional who won his first eight bouts. Foster has wins over three undefeated fighters including Devin Parker, Lavisis Williams, and his last bout when he defeated Kaylen Alfred on January 20th in Houston.

 

 

 

Smith, 39, is a three-year professional, who has stoppage wins over two undefeated foes Mike Marshall and Darnell Pierce.

 

 

 

Smith is coming off a 4-round split decision loss to perennial spoiler Lamont Capers on November 30, 2017 in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
