BROOKLYN (Juillet 7, 2016) – Undefeated Irish star Carl Frampton was officially welcomed to the United States and New York City Jeudi by former world champion and Brooklyn-native Paulie Malignaggi before Frampton held a media workout at Gleason’s Gym as he prepares for his matchup with featherweight world champion Leo Santa Cruz Prendre place Samedi, Juillet 30 en direct sur Showtime de Barclays Centre.

Frampton and Malignaggi posed for pictures outside of Barclays Center and under the Brooklyn Bridge before heading to Gleason’s Gym, where Malignaggi got his start in the sport, for Frampton’s first workout for New York media.

“I train very hard for every fight. No less or no more for Santa Cruz. We’re expecting a very tough fight with a lot of action.
“The last time I was an underdog was the Irish championships, when I was an amateur. You could have got me at 11:2, I was a massive underdog. I dropped him pretty early on, so the last time I was an underdog, a lot of people who knew me made a lot of money. It’s going to be the same result this time.

“I think my fight with Bracero is an interesting clash of styles. We have similar styles in that we like to box and counter punch but we’re also both very familiar with each other. I’m sure he’ll have something up his sleeve for me.
“Making this kind of all-Brooklyn fight is great for the fans. We both have our own followings so it should make for an electric atmosphere at Barclays Center.
“The main event is going to be a great fight. When you look at the styles and the pedigrees of both men, it’s hard to predict what’s going to happen. Both guys have exciting styles so I’m betting on the fans getting their money’s worth.”

“After Carl defeated Scott Quigg and became a unified champion at 122 livres, we believe that all of the exciting fights in that division have passed. We want to be involved in exciting fights.
“The Quigg fight wasn’t as exciting as we would have liked, but we knew it was going to be like that. We knew he’d come on late in the fight and we had our tactics planned well. This is going to be a much better fight because Santa Cruz is brave and takes chances. He also has underrated boxing skills.

“Santa Cruz is a great fighter. He’s low-key, humble and he hasn’t talked trash. This will be Carl’s hardest fight. It feels great to be involved helping Carl reach his maximum potential, it’s the second best thing to being in the ring yourself.
“We believe 100 percent in Frampton’s ability to win this fight and that he will be successful on fight night.

“I wouldn’t be taking on this fight it I wasn’t extremely confident in Carl, even though he’s coming in as the underdog. I don’t think Santa Cruz has ever felt the power that Carl brings before. I think Carl can beat him comfortably if he continues to prepare well, and then steps into the ring and does what he’s capable of doing.
“We’re finishing up camp now and making sure we’re 100 percent read. We have to be 100 percent to fight Leo Santa Cruz.
“Carl is extremely heavy-handed. He’s extremely skillful, a true all-rounder. He really lives the life, and that makes it easy for me. The way he trains, how he eats, how he sleeps: he takes it seriously and takes care of himself.
“The transition coming over to New York to finish training camp has been great. We could have waited until closer to fight night but we want every single percent to our advantage.
“We’re still acclimatizing to the heat, the jet lag is no problem and we’re going to be ready on fight night.
“This fight is history in the making. It’s a fight that can really put Carl on the map. It’s always a huge opportunity when you’re fighting for a title, against someone of Santa Cruz’s caliber.”

BROOKLYN (Juin 28, 2016)—Undefeated former two-division world champion Mikey Garcia will return to the ring after a two-and-a-half-year layoff on Samedi, Juillet 30 on an exciting night of boxing on AFFICHER L'HEURE et Showtime EXTREME that is one of the strongest cards ever assembled at Barclays Center à Brooklyn.

 

Garcia, who won world titles at featherweight and super featherweight, will fight former world champion Elio Rojas dans un combat de 10 rounds dans le Showtime Championship Boxing co-feature of the Leo Santa Cruz vs. Carl Frampton event presented by Premier Boxing Champions (PBC).

Harrison vs. Rabchenko is the sixth matchup in 2016 between top 154-pound fighters, a lineup showcasing three world title fights and three title elimination matches in one of boxing’s deepest divisions.

 

The combined record of the six fighters on the SHOWTIME telecast is an impressive 162-4-1 avec 113 KO.

 

An all-Brooklyn showdown between welterweight technicians Paulie "Magic Man" Malignaggi et Gabriel “Tito” Bracero highlights the undercard action on SHOWTIME BOXING on SHOWTIME EXTREME. The 10-round bout is a matchup between a former two-division world champion, Malignaggi, and a fellow Brooklyn native, Bracero, coming off the biggest win of his career when he knocked out Danny O'Connor Octobre dernier.

I have called out anyone and everyone in the 130- pound division to no avail, so now I’m moving up to 135 to take on Redkach, one of the most feared punchers in the division. Redkach is an aggressive guy and I know he is coming to fight, but there is no way I leave that ring without my hand being raised. This is a fight where I can and I will make a major statement. I’m willing to fight whoever they put in front of me to inch closer to a world title opportunity and Juillet 30 is another step in that direction. I tip my hat off to Redkach for giving me this fight, but this is my time to shine.”

New Heavyweight Champ Charles Martin Says: ‘My Time to Shine Will Come!’

Brand new IBF Heavyweight Champion “Prince-” Charles Martin (23-0-1, 21 KOs) should be on cloud nine.
In just his seventh year of boxing and slightly over third as a professional, Martin already finds himself the sixth southpaw to have ever won a heavyweight championship after scoring a TKO 3 over Ukrainian top contender Vyacheslav Glazkov last Saturday night, Janvier 16, at the Barclay’s Center in New York.
Winning any world title is an amazing accomplishment that most never reach in decades of boxing. Add in that Martin took out the 2008 Olympic Super Heavyweight bronze medalist to become the second current American heavyweight champion in a suddenly rejuvenated division.
“Ça fait du bien,” admits Martin. “I wanted to do it fast. I couldn’t wait,” he explains of his quick ascension. “Some things they say take time but when you’re really determined to do something, you’ll do it as soon as possible.”
With his place already assured in the boxing history books and several lucrative possible showdowns on the near horizon, why isn’t Martin the happiest man on the planet?
It was the way he won.
“I have an empty feeling right now,” said the 29-year-old champion. “I was in front of so many people and it was my time to shine on Showtime and show the world my skills. I felt that he had no power and said to myself that he would be easy work. I knew I was going to have a great night. I was going to KO him and then everyone would love me… but it didn’t happen like that.”
Glazkov stopped fighting in round three due to torn ACL in his knee and Martin was declared the winner of the then-vacant title by way of injury-induced TKO.
“I wanted to win the belt my way,” continued the disappointed Martin. “He would have got knocked out eventually. It was coming to him. I never even got to use my uppercut on him, but it’s all good.”
Humble and extremely likeable, Martin remained polite, post-fight and expressed his condolences to the disappointed Glazkov. Cependant, since that night, Glazkov has gone on to say he had “figured Martin out” and that the championship would have certainly been his had he not been injured.
“Oh my goodness, I’m trying to stay humble about the situation, but that’s so crazy what he said,” a déclaré Martin. “If he really thinks that, he’s tripping. Things were about to get a lot worse for him. Je vous promets, once he started slowing down, my combinations would have started to come out. I was throwing the one/two because he was getting out of the way pretty good in the first few rounds. I was just getting started. I thought I would box him for a while and then start going at him and whip his butt. I promise you I could have. That injury saved him. It broke my heart that I didn’t get to do what I wanted. How does that happen? I was having fun.”
Martin says his team and friends and relatives have been good to remind him the abbreviated ending was out of his control. He also says he’ll take a quick vacation and then get right back to work.
So what comes next for the new American heavyweight champion?
“Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder. I want them both. I want all the best. That’s the next move. My time to shine will come. I’m a world champion now and I can say that the belt is in the right hands. I’m not going to sit around. I want to fight.”
Martin also says that is Britain’s world champ, Tyson Fury, ever points his taunting antics at him, he won’t mind.
“It’s good for boxing for him to do that kind of stuff. J'aime ça. Tout est affaire. At the end of the day he has no crazy beef with anybody. Nobody choked anybody’s mother. It’s just boxing. You got to get attention somehow. He makes people want to see a fight. We’re in the entertainment and hurt business. It’s definitely a real fight in the ring though. It’s a non-personal thing that very gets personal once they step in the ring with me. That’s two guys’ livelihood in there. That’s our income for our families.”

Will Rosinsky est originaire Queens 30 ans qui travaille comme pompier à Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Une connaissance de longue date de son, Joe Smith Jr., est un travailleur de la construction de 26 ans, originaire de Long Island et un membre de la section locale 66 Ouvriers Union.
Samedi nuit, les deux vont Barclays Center à Brooklyn pour une nuit de combats de boxe mettant en vedette un combat de championnat des poids moyens. Mais ils ne seront pas assis dans les tribunes. Rosinsky et Smith seront là pour se battre entre eux sur un undercard au titre du match entre Brooklynites Peter Quillin (32-0-1) et WBA champion poids moyen Daniel Jacobs (30-1).
“On se connaît,” Rosinsky (19-2) dit de Smith, son ancien sparring partner. “Il ya rien de différent qu'il va faire que je ne l'ai pas vu faire déjà.”

Les taxes et les coûts restent, mais grâce à des lieux nouveaux, bourses de niveau intermédiaire, et cartes de combat localisées, ils ne sont pas aussi prohibitif. Maintenant boxeurs locaux ont un avantage ville natale dans une ville qui est, encore une fois, nourrir le sport à tous les niveaux.
Comme l'a dit Silverglade, “[la boxe est] commencent à revenir.”
La carte Barclays Center Samedi se lit comme un pages blanches locales. Heather Hardy, qui travaille comme formateur à Gleason et bénéficie d'une 14-0 dossier professionnel, est de faire son cinquième apparition à l'aréna. “Je vends des billets à mes clients, collègues, leurs clients. Je suis comme enfant de la sœur de tout le monde,” dit le 33-year-old mère et natif de Brooklyn.
Apparaissent également sont à la hausse prétendante lourds-légers et Staten Island natif Marcus Browne (16-0) et Huntington, N. Y., natif Chris Algieri (20-2), un poids welter. Comme pour l'événement principal, Jacobs est un produit de Starrett City Boxing Club East New York, Quillin et vit également dans l'arrondissement.
Ce sera la carte de combat 28e et dernière de l'année à New York, ce qui correspond au total de l'an dernier, selon la Commission athlétique État de New York. Aussi récemment que 2009, seulement 14 cartes de boxe ont été commandées dans les limites de la ville.
Maintenant, les événements sont le reflet de la ville elle-même.
“La grande chose à propos de New York est que peu importe où dans le monde viennent de vous, vous trouverez toujours une «foule à la maison’ à New York en raison de sa diversité inhérente,” explique Tom Hoover, président de la Commission athlétique de l'État de New York.

BROOKLYN (Août 2, 2015) – Danny “Rapide” Garcia (31-0, 18 KOs) gardé intacte sa fiche parfaite Samedi avec un TKO au neuvième round de champion du monde deux fois Paulie “The Magic Man” Malignaggi (33-7, 7 KOs) sur Premier Champions de boxe sur ESPNdu centre Barclays à Brooklyn.

 

Garcia était en mesure de contrôler la lutte avec les droits de plomb et contre crochets gauche qui a maintenu la Malignaggi agile d'atterrir quelque chose de significatif. La punition a pris son péage sur Malignaggi comme une coupure ouvert sur son oeil droit dans le troisième tour.

 

En dépit d'être le favori de la foule dans son natif de Brooklyn, Malignaggi n'a pas pu atterrir plusieurs coups de poing sur Garcia et l'a mis en danger réel. Dans le neuvième round coups nettes de Garcia finalement avéré être trop pour Malignaggi que l'arbitre a arrêté le combat au 2:22 dans la ronde.

 

Dans le premier match télévisé, Brooklyn Daniel “Le Miracle” Jacobs (30-1, 27 KOs) renversé l'ancien champion du monde Sergio “The Snake latine” Mora (28-4-2, 9 KOs) deux fois sur son chemin à un arrêt de second tour et une défense réussie de son titre mondial des poids moyens.

 

Le premier tour en vedette action excitante des deux hommes que Jacobs a présenté un crochet droit croustillante qui a envoyé Mora à la toile au début. Quelques secondes après le lever, Mora a répondu en frappant Jacobs avec un compteur propre qui a stupéfié Jacobs et l'a envoyé au tapis.

 

Après marquage Mora avec des coups durs à la fin de la première ronde, Jacobs a continué à se manifester et envoyé Mora sur la toile avec une vague à la fin de la deuxième ronde. Mora semblait blesser sa jambe droite sur le knockdown et était incapable de continuer. L'arrêt est venu officielle 2:55 dans le deuxième tour.

“Je me sentais beaucoup plus fort. Dans le neuvième tour, je me sentais comme il était ronde. Je dois travailler sur le raccourcissement des coups de poing et de coller avec le plan de match. Mon père voulait que je sois forte et jette poinçons plus droites.

 

“Je me sens forte et je me sens bien. Je utilisé mon jab. Il y avait certainement des choses que je dois travailler sur mais je suis fier de moi. 147 est à où il est.

 

“Paulie est un grand champion. Il est un vétéran de l'artisanat avec un grand jab et le mouvement du pied. Mais je suis allé là-bas et exécuté le plan de match.

 

“Keith Thurman et Shawn Porter sont de grands combattants de cette division. Si ils veulent, nous pouvons y arriver.”

 

Paulie Malignaggi

 

“Je tentais de dicter le rythme parce que je ne voulais pas lui d'obtenir dans une rainure. Il est un cogneur dur et je ne voulais pas lui donner la confiance à la terre un grand coup. Je voulais dicter avec mon jab et de garder sa disparition, Il avait donc deviner à jeter son pouvoir. Les coups en puissance moins il a jeté les coups en puissance moins il pouvait me frapper avec.

 

“Je tentais de prendre un peu de sa confiance. Il me descendait assez bien derrière le jab. Il m'a coupé dans la quatrième et je pense que haussé sa confiance. Je ne pouvais prendre le contrôle du rythme bien. Dans les endroits que je sentais que je donnais jusqu'à moins de terrain et je devais lui manquant. Il est revenu sur son groove bien et il a eu un fort avantage.

 

“Je pense que Danny peut être un échelon supérieur combattant, il est déjà. Il peut mettre son nom dans les livres d'histoire. Il a beaucoup de talent. Les gens ne se rendent pas compte qu'il a beaucoup de caractère trop. Il a un très bon visage de poker. Il ne soyez pas frustrés, et si il le fait, il ne le montre pas de vous.

 

“Son père est un grand entraîneur et il reste vraiment sur lui. Danny écoute et ils ont une excellente relation. Chaque fois un tour commencerait il était comme il était frais. Même à la fin des tours quand je lui ai donné quelque chose à penser, il revint, et que est vraiment important.

 

“Je l'ai eu un très bon travail commentateur et regarder grands combattants se battent aux premières loges. Je espère asseoir autour du ring pendant une longue période. Je me sentais comme si je ne pouvais pas mettre en place une grande performance ce soir alors il serait mon dernier. Je voulais accrocher difficile que ce que je pouvais. Je me souviens quand je prenais de grands coups, je ne faisais que penser «Ne cède pas. Ceci est votre dernière nuit si vous donnez dans. Ne pas montrer que vous allez donner à. Si vous pouvez démontrer que vous avez encore faim pour cela, alors vous vous convaincre que ce ne sont pas la fin.’ Je voulais continuer à montrer que je veux. Peu à peu, il m'a tombé en panne, et je ai aucun problème avec l'arrêt.

 

“Je vais probablement pas combattre à nouveau. Vous détestez pour prendre une décision émotionnelle. Ma carrière a commencé à Brooklyn 14 il y a des années. Si elle se termine à Brooklyn ce soir alors au moins je me suis retrouvé à la maison d'où je viens et devant les plus grands fans dans le monde.”

 

DANIEL JACOBS

 

“Je voulais l'arrêter sur mon propre. Je ne voulais pas lui de quitter sur le tabouret, mais je sais qu'il savait que ça allait se terminer par un couple de tours de toute façon.

 

“Je veux Peter Quillin prochaine. Il est un combat les fans méritent. Brooklyn soutient toujours à la fois de nous et ce serait une excellente façon de terminer l'année.

 

“Pas de revanche, aucune raison de revenir en arrière. Merci à Dieu pour cette victoire, mais je ne vais pas lui donner une revanche juste parce que.

 

“Je l'ai dit n'a un gars avec neuf KOs frapper vraiment me down?

 

“Je pense que ces Brooklynites méritent quelque chose de spécial et je me et «Kid Chocolate pense’ serait ce combat spécial ici chez Barclays. Nous sommes sur le 'A’ côté maintenant, nous sommes champions, alors faisons-le!”

“Je savais que les premiers tours seraient difficiles, nous nous attendions à ce que. Mon plan était de le prendre dans l'eau profonde.

 

“Adrenaline peut vous faire faire des choses stupides. Avec un puncheur comme Danny, Je devais mouvement.

 

“Je vous ai dit que je suis venu ici pour me battre. Je lui donne crédit, mais je suis venu pour prendre ce championnat. Je veux une revanche.”

Frank De Alba prêt pour le plus grand combat de sa carrière demain soir contre Omar Douglas au Barclays Center à Brooklyn

Brooklyn, New York (Juillet 31, 2015)–DEMAIN SOIR!! à Barclays Center, La 2ème tranche de Premiere Champions de boxe sur ESPN aura lieu avec Danny Garcia réunion Paulie Malignaggi dans l'événement principal. Dans la co-métrage, Daniel Jacobs va défendre son titre Middleweight contre Sergio Mora.
Dans un combat qui aura lieu avant le début de la diffusion en direct, une intrigante Jr. Léger bataille entre Frank De Alba et Omar Douglas sera diffusée en direct sur ESPN3.com au 8 PM ET.
De Alba de Reading, PA voit ce combat comme une chance de faire un grand nom pour lui-même les combats sur une grande carte devant les grands médias de boxe.
Le 28 ans De Alba a un dossier de 16-1-2 avec 6 coups de grâce et a gagné 14 dans une rangée et est invaincu dans son dernier 18 combats. De Alba sait que cela pourrait être un combat contre l'invaincu Douglas, qui viendra avec une fiche de 14-0 avec 11 KO, qui lui tremplin dans le top-10 dans le Jr. Division des poids légers..
