NEF ANNOUNCES SUMMER’S HOTTEST FIGHT CARD

Voor onmiddellijke publicatie: Lewiston, Maine (Juli 16, 2025) - New England Fights ("NEF") presents its next event “NEF 63: Cruel Summer,” on Saturday, Augustus 9, 2025, at the Lewiston Memorial Armory in Lewiston, Maine. The event will make history as the first ever sanctioned hybrid mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and kickboxing card in Maine. Eerder vandaag, NEF heeft de volledige gevechtskaart voor het evenement aangekondigd. Er werd een megakaart uitgebracht met een twintigtal gevechten, met een hele reeks MMA-titelgevechten, wrok wedstrijden, en kickbokswedstrijden.

“Dit is ouderwetse NEF,", riep Nick DiSalvo, mede-eigenaar en promotor van NEF. "Dit zal doen denken aan de marathonkaarten die we vroeger in Lewiston organiseerden. Het grote verhaal van de avond is het pensioengevecht van Lewiston/Auburns eigen Jesse “The Viking” Erickson (11-9).  Erickson, een van de populairste atleten van de promotie, nam in 2012 deel aan de “NEF 1”-kaart in Lewiston. Hij is door de jaren heen consequent een topuitdager geweest voor de professionele lichtgewichttitel van NEF en vertegenwoordigde het nabijgelegen Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ).  Erickson zal voor de laatste keer in de NEF-kooi stappen, tegenover Brian Cosco uit Massachusetts (2-2) met een catchweight van 165 ponden in een professioneel MMA-gevecht.

Het hoofdevenement van de avond zal Nick Eldridge zijn (4-0) het verdedigen van de professionele MMA-bantamgewichttitel van de promotie tegen de uitdaging van de Canadese topkandidaat Olivier Poisson (3-0).  Eldridge won afgelopen mei het 135-pond kampioenschap op “NEF 62” en overhandigde de voorheen ongeslagen Tim Fargo (3-1) het eerste verlies van zijn professionele carrière.

Eldridge's Nostos-teamgenoot Nathaniel Grimard (7-5) zal het opnemen tegen Felipe Günter van First Class MMA (3-1) in het langverwachte co-main event voor NEF's professionele MMA-vedergewichtband. Beide concurrenten zijn gedurende hun respectievelijke carrières enorm populair geweest bij fans. Beiden hadden goud bij de promotie als amateurs.

Lokale favoriet "Killa" Kam Arnold (6-1) zal proberen zijn overwinningsreak van vier gevechten levend te houden wanneer hij de slimme Pennsylvania-veteraan Charlie “The Madman” Gathers ontmoet (9-11) in een catchweight MMA-gevecht.

Staat ook op het professionele gedeelte van de MMA-kaart: Fred Allen Sfeir (1-0) en Josée Sotero (1-0) zullen elk hun ongeslagen record op het spel zetten in een vedergewichtwedstrijd; Tyler Smythe (5-6) keert terug naar de MMA-kooi na een recent uitstapje in de boksring om Erick Alvarado te ontmoeten (2-2); en Rumford, Nate Boucher uit Maine (0-5) en Paul Walters uit Florida (0-7) beiden kijken uit naar de eerste overwinning van hun respectievelijke professionele MMA-carrières in een catchweight-gevecht.

Twee titelgevechten zullen de hoofdrol spelen in het amateur-MMA-gedeelte van de vechtkaart.

Ongeslagen Nate “The Mule” White (7-0) zal de strijd aangaan met Brandon Oldenburg (2-3) voor de vacante amateur-MMA-zwaargewichttitel. Wit zal voor het eerst meedoen 21 maanden. Oldenburg heeft een winstreak van twee gevechten met twee knockouts in de eerste ronde.

Voor onmiddellijke publicatie: Lewiston, Maine (Mei 22, 2019) - New England Fights (NEF) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Saturday, Juni 22 met haar volgende mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 39: ALLE-AMERIKAANS.” Eerder vandaag, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur title fight to the card. Carlton Charles (3-2) zal worden geconfronteerd met Jordan Norman (2-1) for the vacant amateur middleweight belt.

Prior to entering the MMA ranks, Carlton Charles made his mark on the football field. He played for Windham High School in Windham, Maine and later led the team to a Class A title as an assistant coach. Charles went on to play fullback for the University of Maine Black Bears. He made his NEF debut in the summer of 2017 with a 23-second knockout win. He would top that performance with a 12-second knockout victory in February 2018. After an unsuccessful attempt at capturing the amateur welterweight title against Duncan Smith (5-3) last June, Charles returned to the cage one month ago in New Hampshire and picked up yet another first-round knockout win.

“Zoals altijd, I feel blessed and very grateful for the opportunity to fight for the belt,” said Charles.  “I know Jordan has come a long way in this sport and is always training hard and improving. I will be looking to not be caught by one of those big meat hooks that he has for hands. He’s a big powerful guy, and I’m going to be training hard as always to be able to go out and perform to my best ability. I know my coaches will have me ready for this one! have no doubt in my mind the fans will be in for a real treat with this one.”

Jordan Norman has indeed come a long way since his NEF debut last June. He lost that evening via first-round knockout, but Norman would come firing back in his next two bouts. He won a split decision over John Assam (0-1) laatste val, and just last month finished Greg Ishihara (0-1) in the second round. Norman represents the Bad Little Falls Dojo.

“I’m honored for the opportunity to get into the NEF cage and compete for the amateur title against someone like Carlton,” exclaimed Norman. “He and I will put on one hell of a show for the Lewiston crowd. Both of us come to fight and it won’t be any different on June 22nd. I have nothing but respect for him and his team. I’m excited for the task at hand and scrapping it out for the middleweight title.”

The middleweight title fight between Charles and Norman is the fourth already announced for the “NEF 39” card. Josh “Aanhaken” Harvey (6-0-1) is scheduled to defend the professional featherweight title against Jordan Downey (5-4), while Nate Boucher (4-3) will square off with Robert Presley (5-4) for the vacant amateur men’s flyweight belt, and undefeated Glory Watson (4-0) takes on Caree Hill (4-1) to crown NEF’s first amateur women’s flyweight champion. Also announced for the card, Jesse “De Viking” Erickson (9-7) faces Lewis Corapi (8-5) in a professional lightweight bout.

Bangor, Maine (Januari 10, 2019) - New England Fights (NEF) zal zijn volgende mixed-martial-arts-evenement houden, “NEF 37: Onder nul,” op vrijdag, Februari 1, 2019 bij het Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. CRESPO UIT, MURPHY TEGEN ARNOLD IN NEF TITLE FIGHT

BANTAMWEIGHT BOUT ADDED TO ALREADY-STACKED PORTLAND FIGHT CARD

Portland, Maine (Mei 24, 2018) – Last week New England Fights (NEF) released the official card for its upcoming return to Aura in Portland, Maine. The mixed-martial-arts event, getiteld “NEF 34: Huis van de dapperen,” is scheduled to take place on Saturday night, Juni 16, 2018 met een bel-tijd van 7:00 pm EDT. NEF matchmakers, echter, were still hard at work on adding fights to the card, and earlier today they announced the addition of an amateur bantamweight bout to the event. The lead-up to “NEF 34” has been somewhat of a wild ride for Henry Clark. He was originally scheduled to face Florida’s Krishna Scott (0-1) op de kaart. Just prior to the announcement of the full fight card, Scott’s camp informed NEF that he was pulling out of the fight. Clark remained in training camp at the Choi Institute in Portland in the hope that NEF matchmakers would find him a replacement opponent. When Dave Brown stepped up to the plate, Clark was quick to accept the opportunity to fight in front of his hometown fans and friends once more.

 

 

 

“I’m so grateful that Dave Brown stepped up,” Said Clark. “It takes a lot of guts to take a short notice fight. I would have fought anyone on a week’s notice if it meant fighting in Portland. It’s great motivation for me to finish up my camp knowing who I’m fighting. I’m coming to showcase and steal the show.”

Prior to his time competing in MMA, Brown wrestled for Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire. He will return to NEF after a three-year absence following his loss to Norman Fox in the spring of 2015. 559 Fights returns to Fresno’s Tower Theatre with “559 Fights 55” on April 21, featuring a full slate of many of California’s hungriest and most exciting amateur MMA fighters.
The main event will feature top flyweight contender Samuel Fierro (6-2, Selma) as he tries to halt unbeaten 6-0 Sacramento fighter Mark Wirth’s tear through the state’s 125-pound rankings.

Prior to the highly anticipated headline bout, Daniel Campagna (3-1, Porterville) will hunt for his fourth win at the expense of Sacramento’s Josiah McHale (3-2) in bantamgewicht actie.

In the flyweight division, Fresno’s Austin Liu (2-1) and Merced’s Michael Alonzo (2-1) ontmoet, with both fighters hungry to earn their third win.

Erick Sanchez vs. Andres Quintana

The 5-foot-10, 26-year-old Sanchez of Sacramento, Calif. is an explosive finisher who will enter La Jaula for the third time in his career, on a three-fight winning streak.

The Team Alpha Male member has put away all three of his last opponents by way of (T)KO of onderwerping, including his last adversary – Mike Segura – whom Sanchez forced to tap out from a rear-naked choke just 50 seconds into their meeting at Combate Americas last April 18.

Fighting out of Roswell, N.M., the 6-foot-, 25-year-old Quintana is another devastating force who has earned all but one of his nine professional career wins by way of (T)KO.

Quintana will attempt to bounce back from his only loss in nearly five years – a first round (2:10) WHO (body kick and punches) at the hands of Adrian Diaz, op Mei 19.

Erick Gonzalez vs. Danny Ramirez

The 5-foot-10, 25-year-old Gonzalez of Torrance, Calif. will risk a three-fight win streak, including two consecutive victories under the promotion of Combate Americas.

In less than one year as a professional, the 5-foot-6, 26-year-old Estrada, known best to his fans as “Froggy,” has already earned the reputation of a brutal puncher, scoring first-round knockout wins in each of his two starts, both of which took place in La Jaula.

The Fillmore, Calif. resident made a mark in his professional debut, putting Jonathan Quiroz flat on his back with a single punch in just under two minutes.

The 5-foot-10, 35-year-old Hernandez of Santa Rosa, Calif. will seek his first win under the Combate Americas banner, and attempt to stop a three-fight skid.

After turning professional just two years ago at age 33, Hernandez cruised to victory in his first four bouts, defeating three of his opponents by way of submission and the fourth by way of TKO.
