SA HINANALING PAGPAGAWAS: Lewiston, Maine (Mayo 22, 2019) - New England away (Kaha) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Saturday, Hunyo 22 with its next mixed-martial-arts event, “Kaha 39: ALL-AMERICAN.” Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur title fight to the card. Carlton Charles (3-2) moatubang Jordan Norman (2-1) for the vacant amateur middleweight belt.

Prior to entering the MMA ranks, Carlton Charles made his mark on the football field. He played for Windham High School in Windham, Maine and later led the team to a Class A title as an assistant coach. Charles went on to play fullback for the University of Maine Black Bears. He made his NEF debut in the summer of 2017 with a 23-second knockout win. He would top that performance with a 12-second knockout victory in February 2018. After an unsuccessful attempt at capturing the amateur welterweight title against Duncan Smith (5-3) niadtong Hunyo, Charles returned to the cage one month ago in New Hampshire and picked up yet another first-round knockout win.

The middleweight title fight between Charles and Norman is the fourth already announced for the “NEF 39” card. Josh “Hook On” Harvey (6-0-1) is scheduled to defend the professional featherweight title against Jordan Downey (5-4), while Nate Boucher (4-3) will square off with Robert Presley (5-4) for the vacant amateur men’s flyweight belt, and undefeated Glory Watson (4-0) takes on Caree Hill (4-1) to crown NEF’s first amateur women’s flyweight champion. Also announced for the card, Jesse “Ang Viking” Erickson (9-7) faces Lewis Corapi (8-5) in a professional lightweight bout.

TOP AMATEUR PROSPECTS WILL MEET IN WOMEN’S FIGHT AT NEF 37

Bangor, Maine (Enero 10, 2019) - New England away (Kaha) will hold its next mixed-martial-arts event, “Kaha 37: Sub Zero,” sa Biyernes, Pebrero 1, 2019 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. Earlier today, the promotion announced the addition of an amateur women’s flyweight fight to the card. Glory Watson (2-0) kuhaon sa Rachael Lippert (4-2) sa usa ka away gibug-aton sa 125-libra.

Glory Watson made her mark in the NEF cage in 2018 with wins over Chelsea Tucker and Megan Rosado. It earned her a nomination in the “Rookie sa Tuig” category. She was the runner-up to fellow undefeated amateur rookie Zac Richard (3-0) in fan voting last month. Watson trains with Young’s MMA in Bangor. The fight with Lippert will be her first in her hometown.

โ€œIโ€™ve continued to train and challenge myself since my victory in Portland this past November,” said Watson.“Iโ€™m really excited to finally make my debut in my hometown to kickstart 2019 with a three-fight run streak over the next three months! Iโ€™m looking forward to my return to the cage and to show my supporters the hard work that Iโ€™ve been putting in to maintain my career with zero losses!"

Rachael Lippert is also riding a two-fight win-streak into this bout. Last month, she was victorious on a card in Minnesota put on by national promotion Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA).  She is a 25-year-old with a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu representing Fearless MMA of Janesville, Wisconsin.

CRESPO OUT, MURPHY IN AGAINST ARNOLD IN NEF TITLE FIGHT

Portland, Maine (Mayo 31, 2018) โ€“ Earlier this week, New England away (Kaha) officials were informed that Mike Crespo had been injured during his fight camp and would be unable to compete at “Kaha 34: Home of the Brave” sa Hunyo 16 in Portland. Crespo had originally been scheduled to face Kam Arnold (3-0) for the vacant NEF MMA Amateur Bantamweight Championship. Killian Murphy (1-0) has stepped up to replace Crespo and take on Arnold at Aura for the 135-pound title in a scheduled five-round affair.

Murphy made his debut at “NEF 33” last month in Portland with an impressive victory over Krishna Scott (0-1) pinaagi sa first-round technical knockout. He is no stranger to the winner’s circle. Murphy is a former Maine state wrestling champion, having captured a class-A title for Marshwood High School in Elliott in 2015. Karon, he trains with Nostos MMA in Somersworth, New Hampshire under the guidance of UFC signee, and former NEF Professional Lightweight Champion, Devin Powell (8-3). Murphy was originally scheduled to compete against Gabriel Diaz of Florida at “NEF 34,” but Diaz pulled out of that fight earlier this month.

โ€œItโ€™s an exciting turn of events to end up fighting for the 135-pound belt,” said Murphy. “The goal when I started this journey was to win that belt – and I am thankful for this opportunity. I want to thank NEF, my coaches, my teammates and supporters. June 16th, Iโ€™m taking that belt home to Nostos.โ€

Perhaps no other member of the NEF roster has had the run in the last twelve months that Kam Arnold has had. He has cut through three opponents in the first round like a hot knife through butter including an eleven-second knockout of veteran David Thompson last month at “NEF 33.” Arnold is a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu of Lewiston, Maine.

BANTAMWEIGHT BOUT ADDED TO ALREADY-STACKED PORTLAND FIGHT CARD

Portland, Maine (Mayo 24, 2018) โ€“ Last week New England Fights (Kaha) released the official card for its upcoming return to Aura in Portland, Maine. The mixed-martial-arts event, nga nag-ulohang “Kaha 34: Home of the Brave,” is scheduled to take place on Saturday night, Hunyo 16, 2018 with a bell-time of 7:00 pm EDT. NEF matchmakers, Apan, were still hard at work on adding fights to the card, and earlier today they announced the addition of an amateur bantamweight bout to the event. The lead-up to “NEF 34” has been somewhat of a wild ride for Henry Clark. He was originally scheduled to face Florida’s Krishna Scott (0-1) on the card. Just prior to the announcement of the full fight card, Scott’s camp informed NEF that he was pulling out of the fight. Clark remained in training camp at the Choi Institute in Portland in the hope that NEF matchmakers would find him a replacement opponent. When Dave Brown stepped up to the plate, Clark was quick to accept the opportunity to fight in front of his hometown fans and friends once more.

 

 

 

“I’m so grateful that Dave Brown stepped up,” Miingon Clark. “It takes a lot of guts to take a short notice fight. I would have fought anyone on a week’s notice if it meant fighting in Portland. It’s great motivation for me to finish up my camp knowing who I’m fighting. I’m coming to showcase and steal the show.”
