Undefeated Super Featherweight Signs With Rising Management Company on Pursuit of World Championship

DALLAS – May 28, 2025 - Undefeated rising super featherweight Dominique “Trapp” Francis has become the latest rising star to join forces with Fighters First Management, adding another exciting blue-chip contender to the company’s growing roster of talent.

The 24-year-old Francis (16-0, 10 KOs) announced his contender status in his last outing, upsetting the previously undefeated Julio Carrera Lugo via a dominant fourth-round knockout last October. A native of Miami who represents his Haitian heritage in the ring, Francis is trained by renowned coach Derik Santos, along with his father Smith Francis, and will look to capitalize off the momentum from his most recent victory with the help of Fighters First.

“I’m very grateful for this opportunity to sign with Fighters First Management,” said Francis, who will be returning to the ring this summer. “I’m ready to take my career to the next level with the right team behind me.”

Fighters First President Jolene Mizzone and CEO Adrian Clark each expressed their belief in Francis’ long-term prospects as he joins the company that helped guide reigning WBO Welterweight World Champion Brian Norman to championship gold.

“When I first started talking to Dominique, his father and Derik Santos, I knew that Dom had the ‘It’ factor, not only in the ring, but outside of it,” said Mizzone. “He has a great team already and I look forward to joining them and going on this ride together.”

“I’m looking forward to Dominique showing his talents inside and outside the ring,” said Clark. “We’re glad to have him in the Fighters First family and excited about what’s to come.”

Francis turned pro in 2019 following an impressive amateur career that included a championship-winning performance at the 2016 USA Junior Olympics and a run to the final of the 2017 USA Youth Open Tournament. Despite turning pro as a teenager, Francis delivered stoppages in six of his first seven outings and has since shown his ability to compete in the later rounds, winning 10-round decisions in August 2022 et Juin 2023.

Having recently spent time in the gym working alongside boxing superstar Terence Crawford, Francis believes he is putting together the experience that will eventually help him reach his superstar potential.

“It was a pleasure sharing gym time with a champion like Crawford,” said Francis. “Watching his moves and preparation was a tremendous learning moment. We chopped it up a bit, and I definitely picked up some knowledge being around that level of greatness.”

With over a decade of experience in the sport helping to guide the careers of numerous fighters, including reigning WBO Welterweight World Champion Brian Norman Jr., Clark sees his course as an opportunity to improve the sport by efficiently delivering firsthand knowledge to aspiring boxing managers. Actuellement, state commissions require no previous knowledge verification to license boxing managers, a void that this certificate can help to close.

“For the last five years, my focal point has been to implement educational programs in the boxing business,” said Clark. “This course helps to develop boxing managers and further protects fighters from being taken advantage of contractually and/or financially. The more the manager knows, the better for all parties involved in this business.”

The 46-minute online course features 15 informative videos, accompanied by multiple choice quizzes after each chapter, with chapters providing information on core tenets of boxing management including: Boxer-Manager Agreements, Managerial Percentage, Promoter Relationships, Negotiations and much more.

In addition to offering the online course, Clark plans expand upon the company’s internship program to give select prospective managers firsthand experience in the field with him through the Fighters First Management company. En plus de cela, Clark will be looking to expand the program through potential partnerships with or guest lecture at sports management programs throughout the country.

“Through Fighters First Management, I gained hands-on experience in supporting athletes at every stage of their careers—strategically building their personal brands, navigating negotiation processes, and crafting individualized plans that reflect their unique goals and needs,” said Noe Mendoza, une 2Dakota du Nord-year law student at UT-Dallas who has previously interned with Clark.

Clark’s ambition and prowess in the boxing world has been recognized for years, as he was named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 en 2016. He currently is the CEO of Fighters First Management, run alongside company President and Hall of Fame matchmaker Jolene Mizzone. In addition to his current client list featuring a world champion, top contenders and rising prospects, Clark authored“Protect Yourself At All Times”, a book that helps educate boxers on the business of the sport, is the creator ofBoxingManager.net, and will also be starting a podcast focused on the business of boxing managers.

“It was never my aim to simply be a boxing manager,” added Clark. “I’ve always wanted to transcend the position and create a demand that a sports agent has in other sports. I believe the course, the blog and podcast can turn heads towards boxing management.”

In its early days, the Boxing Manager Certificate course has already garnered success stories in the industry, including Paul Guarino, who completed the course and recently guided top contender Chordale Booker to a world title shot against unified 154-pound world champion Sebastian Fundora.

“Adrian is a stand-up professional and a relentless worker,” said Guarino. “Whenever I reach out, he provides direct and honest feedback — something I greatly respect. Despite my years of experience as a sports manager, I enrolled in the BMC course to continue refining my skill set. Iron sharpens iron, both in and out of the ring.”

Available now for $300 per manager, the Boxing Manager Certificate course offers a first-of-its-kind window into the wild world of boxing to help make sure that those who are shepherding the next generation of boxing stars, will do so with a strong base of knowledge and the ability to deliver for their clients again and again.

In nearly all major sports there are player associations or governing bodies that control contracts, agent fees, health benefits, retirement plans and even regulates athlete representation. Boxing remains the only major sport without an organized association, nor a system to help the athletes within the business of the sport.

Partnering with Everlast Worldwide to push the issue on educating the fighters and protecting them outside of the ring is a genius move. It will provide PYaAT a global platform and longer reach. Education is key, no matter where you’re from. We will make sure the knowledge is available for the fighters.Clark stated.

PYaAT breaks the mold of the fighters beginning; and navigating their careers in the dark. The symposium will serve as a continuing education tool for fighters and their families. Along with the symposium, PYaAT will be providing exclusive merchandise and issuing a monthly newsletter with updated information in the boxing business.

Protect Yourself at All Times will also be included in Everlast most recent worldwide ad campaign, “Be First”. Clark will join the likes of Heavyweight champ, Deontay Wilder, Dustin Poirier and Mikaela Mayer as trailblazers; not afraid to go against the grain and be the first to do, or start something.

Everlast’s Be First global ad campaign is committed to showcasing and supporting individuals that break ground and find unique ways to reach their goals.said Chris Zoller, Vice President of Marketing and Product Development for Everlast. “Not only is Adrian blazing a new path for himself but for boxers everywhere. We are 100% behind him and what PYaAT does for the sport of boxing.

Everlast and Adrian Clark have been collaborating on educating fighters on the business of boxing since 2016. The PYaAT Symposium will be a continuation of a multi-year partnership between Everlast and Clark which included a best-selling book, podcast and documentary.

Clark ended by saying, Everlast has supported the entire PYaAT campaign from the beginning. Us taking our partnership to another level helps me reach my goal to educate as many fighters as possible, all over the globe. This is game-changing for fighters.

Boxing Manager and 2016 Forbes “30 Moins de 30 ans” Honoree Adrian Clark Offers Manifesto to Help Fighters Clarify Roles

A Revolution in Boxer-Manager Relationships
DALLAS, TEXAS, Février 11, 2015 – In an unprecedented move, boxing manager and owner of AC Sports Management, Adrian Clark, has issued a challenge to professional boxers all over the world in the form of a free legal document: The Boxer-Manager Agreement now allows professional fighters to contract the services of their managers.

Typiquement, dans la boxe, the manager has the boxer under contract for a minimum of three years. The Boxer-Manager Agreement clarifies the role and duties of the manager, giving both parties the opportunity to evaluate one another fairly and to ensure the boxer is in the executive position.

I want guys to develop a mindset of a CEO,” Clark said, “because that’s what they are. They must understand what it is to be in a position of power and able to call shots and make tough executive decisions in their careers.

Clark’s main concern is that many boxers may be working as if they are the subordinate, unlike other executives. “Name me one CEO that is under contract to his spokesperson, or to anyone he is payingClark said.

Clark, currently in his sixth year of boxing management, has been selected as one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 (Sportif) pour 2016. He has just released his first book, titré “Je: Un guide pour les jeunes entrepreneurs,” available from Amazon.

As a business owner, I do what makes sense in regards to business, Clark said. “I have been in the boxing business long enough to see that the common boxer-manager arrangement does not make sense. I’d like to think this document is a game-changer in the sport of boxing for the athletes. It is now up to the athletes to exercise this agreement and be in more control of their careers and who is representing them.

The Boxer-Manager Agreement is available for download on Clark’s website (www.ACsportsm.com/manifesto.html), gratuit. Clark has recorded a video there encouraging fighters to download the document. He also urges them to further educate themselves on the business they are in.

A graduate of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Clark currently manages seven clients, including former world title challenger Jerry Belmontes, former IBO World champion Will Tomlinson, and James de la Rosa, qui a Mars 12 showdown with David Lemieux in Montreal, Québec. À l'âge 25, Clark was certified by the National Basketball Players Association as aPlayer Agent” (Sports Agent). Clark founded AC Sports Management, LLC, en 2012.
