Dirrell has moved his training camp out to Oakland to train with Hunter and gain wisdom from being around Ward. Ward for his part, feels Dirrell has not yet reached his potential in the ring.
“The way I feel about Andre is the way I’ve always felt, the sky’s the limit,” said the recently retired Ward. “He has the God-given ability and talent to do whatever he wants to do in a boxing ring. Mit anderen Worten, he is blessed with the kind of gifts, that if he’s made up his mind that he won’t allow himself to be beat and if he prepares properly in camp, it’s going to be very hard to beat him.
“With a fighter with Andre’s experience and pedigree, it’s less physical and more psychological. Do you want to be a champion and do you want to dominate your division? If the answer is yes, which I believe it is, then go do it. It sounds simple and in many ways it is, but you have to be very intentional to condition your mind to think this way and really believe it. That’s the reason he is training with Virgil in the Bay Area. Physical training, mental preparation & spiritual preparation. It all matters.”

What are some of the nuances Virgil brings, and will your grandfather, Leon “Bumper” Lawson, remain in your corner?
“Virgil is teaching me similarly to the way my grandfather taught me, and I can easily say that he’s picking up where my grandfather left off. My grandfather put my talents in me, making me the fighter Andre Ward had to worry about back in the day.
“But my grandfather doesn’t have the ability to coach really anymore because he’s in the beginning stages of dementia, but I still have him in my corner, and I always will. Virgil has taken over, and this is bar-none, the best I’ve felt, geistig, in meiner Karriere. There are little things about Virgil that I had to adapt to.
“Virgil’s sense of humor is raw, playful and serious at the same time. If I stop for one minute, he’ll tell me, ‘It takes one second to get knocked out.’ He teaches with passion, direction and remains focused on the task at hand, really wanting you to instill how important things are, psychologically.”
How beneficial is the atmosphere in Virgil’s gym?
“There is a positive aura in the gym, which is a winning environment. When you walk into that gym, it’s time to work. Virgil lets you know that simply by staring at you. You have Andre Ward’s posters all around you, other fighters’ posters around you. There are a lot of fighters’ faces up on those gym walls, including Andre Berto’s.
“I’m definitely inspired because the atmosphere has everything to offer as far as training. You have the mountains, the beaches. Und natürlich, ultimately, you have Virgil, who has flair about him and a way to generate that fire within you and bring it out of you. The most important thing with Virgil is listening.”
What counsel have you received from Ward?
“Andre’s never really showed any hesitation about offering advice and has always been there to give it to me, no problem at all. Andre has always been cordial and honest about wanting to see me hold that championship belt. I believe that he’ll see that this year.
“But I can imagine that now that he’s out of the game, he can do it more freely. I recently had a 45-minute conversation over the phone with him about Jesus Christ, aber doch, face-to-face, we’ve spoken quite often. He came down for a few of my sparring sessions and he’ll be coming to a few more.
“We’ve always talked and had a good time, and he’s been quite an inspiration, aside from being a boxer. Andre has a confidence about himself in and out of the ring, so he’s one of the top guys in my life as a motivator for life outside of and beyond boxing.”
Has Virgil broken down the Uzecategui fight?
“Virgil has watched the fight several times, and I’ve watched the fight several times. We both agreed that the mistakes were definitely all mine and both agree that I didn’t use my ring generalship.
“Even with the flaws that I was committing, I still found my groove. I heard myself saying that I had gotten his timing down and was taking over leading up to the end of the fight.
“Uzecategui is a fighter, but that’s it – he’s no boxer. He has great punching ability but not great skills and he’s not fast, so I expect him to attack me like the first fight. He knows how to put a one-two-three together, and he’s hungry.
“As far as boxing goes, I’ll have to teach him a thing or two about how this game is really played. There’s no question I made the first fight harder than it had to be. I look at that first fight with so much confidence.
“I know that I fought it incorrectly, but I was still coming back. He won the first, second and possibly third and fourth rounds, but I was coming back. So this time, I plan on frustrating this boy so much that he’ll be completely off of his game.”

BROOKLYN (Februar. 23, 2018) – Mittelgewichts-Anwärter Hugo Centeno Jr. suffered a rib injury while training and his Interim WBC Middleweight World Championship bout with Jermall Charlo has been rescheduled for a Premier Boxing Champions event on Samstag, April 21 live auf Showtime.

In the opening bout of the März 3 double, Andre Dirrell and Jose Uzcategui will meet for the Interim IBF Super Middleweight World Championship in an immediate rematch of one of 2017’s best and most controversial fights.
Charlo vs. Centeno will now be a featured bout on the previously announced April 21 SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast presented by Premier Boxing Champions. Four-division world champion Adrien Broner will face undefeated former champion Omar Figueroa and one of boxing’s brightest young stars, Gervonta Davis, returns to the ring as the 23-year-old undefeated former champion looks to regain a title in the 130-pound class.

“I was just about to peak. Now I have to taper off a bit and cut back to let my body recover and then pick it up and get some momentum back.”

Streaking Russian Female Star Elena Savelyeva to Fight 10 Rounds in Fourth Pro Fight

In just her fourth professional fight, rising female flyweight prospect Elena Savelyeva will take the leap to 10-rounders.
Formerly one of the most decorated female amateur boxers in the world and a 2012 Olympier, Savelyeva (3-0, 3 KOs), von Pushkino, Russland, will face former world title challenger Nevenka Mikulic of Croatia on Samstag, Februar 10 at Qin Shi Huang Restaurant in Saint Petersburg, Russland.
“Ich fühle mich großartig,” said Savelyeva, “Everything has gone completely according to plan. The fight itself will show what great shape I’m in. My training is always very intense, and I always have planned-out goals in mind.”

Steigender weiblichen Star, Elena Gradinar von Sankt Petersburg, Russland, wird zum ersten WM-Gürtel ihrer beruflichen Laufbahn konkurrieren, wenn sie Ex-Weltmeister Olivia nimmt “Der Räuber” Gerula für die IBF-Intercontinental Meisterschaft im Feder.
Die 10-Runden-Gradinar vs. Gerula Kampf findet statt am Samstag, März 24, an der Energia Sporthalle in Narva, Estland.
Die ungeschlagene 27-jährige Gradinar (8-0, 2 KOs) gegangen 73-8 als Amateur, zahlreiche nationale und internationale Amateur-Turniere zu gewinnen. Gradinar hat auch die Bezeichnung Sport Master of Russia erreicht.
Ein renommiertes und erreicht professionelle, Gerula, von Winnipeg, Manitoba, Kanada, WBC-Welt weiblich Super-Weltmeister im Feder ist der ehemalige und machte zwei erfolgreichen Verteidigungen. Sie hat auch die renommierte WIBA-Weltmeisterschaft statt.

“FIGHT NITE AT THE SCOTTISH RITE” DANIEL “DA BEAST” BIAZ SCORES UNANIMOUS DECISION

SAN ANTONIO, TX (Januar 20, 2018) – Heute Abend TMB & PRB Unterhaltung vorgestellt “Fight Nite at the Scottish Rite”, an eight-bout event that took place at the Scottish Rite Theatre in San Antonio, TX. In the four-round main event, Daniel “Da Beast” Biaz (11-1, 5 KOs) scored a unanimous decision over, Strahl “Der Krieger” Trujillo (3-4-1, 2 KOs).
Biaz, a southpaw who is managed by Prince Ranch Boxen, wobbled Trujillo in every round, with hard shots to the head. Trujillo was trying to force his way into the chest of Biaz throughout the fight, but was unsuccessful as he was countered with by accurate punches. Trujillo, who was a last-minute replacement, showed a lot of heart but was outgunned by Biaz, who landed the cleaner blows. Scorecards lesen 40-36 über die Grenze, all in favor of Biaz.
In the six round co-main event, female bantamweights, Brianna “Queen Bee” Gonzalez (3-1, 1 KO) und Brittny “Mi Vida Loca” Ordonez (2-2, 1 KO) went toe-to-toe for six hard fought rounds. Both fighters were going for the knockout from the opening bell. Gonzalez was edging out Ordonez in every round as she landed more power shots. Ordonez was giving it her all, but it was Gonzalez who pulled out the unanimous victory. Scorecards lesen 58-56, 60-54, 59-55 all in favor of Gonzalez.

UNDERCARD RESULTS
6-round bantamweight bout
“Vicious” Vic Pasillas (12-0, 5 KOs) vs. Alejandro Moreno (24-39-3, 11 KOs)
After a two-year layoff, Prince Ranch Boxing’s Victor Pasillas, shook of the rust with a spectacular performance. Pasillas used his superior boxing skills to land his shots. Moreno was backing up the whole fight as Pasillas was on the attack. A left uppercut to the body sent Moreno to the canvas in round two. Pasillas continued to apply pressure as he forced Moreno to take a knee in round four. Moreno got up but did not come out for the fifth round. Pasillas scores a TKO.
4-runder Kampf im Mittelgewicht
“Wild” Luis Villarreal (2-0, 1 KO) vs. Adam “Geist” Schloss (1-6-1)
Local fighter Luis Villarreal, went the distance with Adam Castillo in a four-round bout. Both fighters were feeling each other out in the early rounds, but it was Villarreal who was the more active fighter. Villarreal came on strong in the final round landing hard body shots, forcing Castillo into survival mode. Villarreal won by unanimous decision.
Scorecards read across the board 40-36.

Ignacio “El Alacran” Holgiun (5-0, 5 KOs) vs. Santiago Bayardo (0-1)
Bayardo, who was making pro debut, was out gunned by the more experienced Holgiun. Bayardo came out throwing wild punches, while Holgiun stayed composed. Holgiun landed a couple of hard right hooks before dropping Bayardo with a devastating uppercut. Bayardo got up but did not want to continue. The bout was stopped at the 1:45 Markierung der ersten Runde.

Herndon landed two powerful body shots followed by a right hook that sent Herrera to the canvas at the end of round one. “It’s a great combination me and her on the same card,” Hammer said. “I can’t wait to show the fans who Christina Hammer is. That will be the best fight ever. It will be the game-changer for female boxing. It’s our time to shine.

 

 

 

“I’m long-time world champion and I have more experience. I have longer reach, I’m tall, I have good footwork and better technique than her. I feel the energy, and I can’t wait to fight against her.”

 

 

 

The former world champion Nelson (17-1-3, 2 KOs) became the 173rd undefeated fighter to suffer their first professional loss on ShoBox: Die neue Generation.

“I think it should have been a unanimous decision,” Hernandez said. “I’ve always been a slow starter and I feel like I lost the first two rounds, especially with the knockdown. But I won pretty much every round after that, I maybe lost three rounds.

 

 

 

“I’m not completely happy with my performance. I have to control my distance and my range a little bit better. I need to go back to the gym and work on those things. Before the summer comes I hope to have another fight and I hope it’s on SHOWTIME.

 

 

 

“I give Garza a lot of credit for getting in the ring and knocking me down. He hung in there for 10 rounds even after I caught him with some good shots. He was able to withstand those shots, but all that said, I still think it should have been a unanimous decision.”

 

 

 

Garza countered that sentiment.

 

 

 

“I thought it was a bogus decision,” Garza said. “I don’t understand that last judge’s card. I was happy with everything that I did. I executed well and did everything I needed to do to win the fight.

 

 

 

“I’m really disappointed with the outcome. I felt that I won. Zu mir, I won a majority of the rounds and I knocked him down. I know knocking your opponent down usually leads to you winning the fight.”

"Ich fühle mich großartig. Ich schob mich wirklich dieses Lager. Es war ein längeres Lager als üblich, damit ich genügend Zeit, um bereit gehabt habe. Tori nelson wurde viel Müll reden zu tun, aber ich werde sie zeigen, dass sie sein kann 17-0, aber sie kämpfte nie ein Mädchen wie mich vor.

 

 

„Ich kann nur haben 4 Profi-Kämpfe, um meinen Namen, aber ich habe viel Erfahrung Amateur. Ich habe Mädchen gekämpft, die 16-0, Ich sehe nicht überall auf ihrem Rekord, wo sie einen ungeschlagenen Kämpfer dieses Kalibers gekämpft.

 

 

„Ich habe darauf vorbereitet auf die gleiche Weise kämpfen, die ich immer tun. Ich habe nichts Besonderes getan. Ich konzentriere mich auf mich, nicht meine Gegner.

 

 

 

„In der 6. oder 7. Runde, Nelson geht.

 

 

„Sobald ich schlug Nelson, Ich will Christina Hammer kämpfen, aber ich nehme es einen Kampf auf einmal. Ich möchte zumindest eine Zeit kämpfen an 154 Pfund, bevor sie auf Hammer nehmen.“
