(Februari 29, 2016) – This Friday, Bellator MMA returns to Spike for the third consecutive Friday with "Bellator 151: Warren vs. Caldwell.” The event takes place from the WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, OK, and features a main event between highly touted undefeated bantamweight Darrion Caldwell (8-0) challenging former two-division world champion and the self-proclaimed “Baddest Man on the Planet” Joe Warren (13-4).

Joe Warren (13-4) vs. Darrion Caldwell (8-0)

Warren has just about done it all under the Bellator MMA banner, winning titles at featherweight and bantamweight during his nearly six-year promotional tenure. Nu, Warren has his sights set on another run with the 135-pound title, a belt he lost during an intense encounter with Marcos Galvao early in 2015. Een 2006 Pan American and World Champion in Greco-Roman competition, the 39-year-old will test himself against a young competitor who excels in the same skillset that Warren has used to his advantage for most of his career, het worstelen.

With five impressive outings in a little over a year and a half under the Bellator MMA umbrella, it was only a matter of time before “The Wolf” found himself in a position to compete for a world title. The next stop on the road to championship gold goes through Warren, a man who has held Galvao’s belt already. Initially a featherweight, Caldwell looks much more comfortable now at 135-pounds and as he proclaimed during a recent interview, “I foresee myself competing against Joe [Warren] with a No. 1 contender shot on the line, sooner rather than later.”

Fernando Gonzalez (24-13) vs. Gilbert Smith (12-4)

Gonzalez took a brief hiatus from MMA to compete in the kickboxing portion of the groundbreaking "Bellator MMA: Dynamite 1 " event in September, losing a tightly contest decision to world-renowned striker Paul "Semtex" Daley. Gonzalez now returns to his comfort zone of MMA, where he has strung together an impressive four-fight winning streak. A veteran of the Scott Coker-founded Strikeforce promotion, as well as World Extreme Cagefighting, Gonzalez has been competing professionally since 2003.

Smith will be making his Bellator MMA debut against a fighter who is currently in the midst of a four-fight winning streak. "Middernacht Magic” is on a bit of a roll of his own, coming into the promotion riding a two-bout winning streak. A veteran of UFC and most recently RFA, Smith won the regional promotion’s welterweight belt in June, defending the title one time before signing with Bellator.

Yamauchi up (19-2) vs. Bubba Jenkins (10-2)

Yamauchi comes into the fight riding a wave of momentum he’s caught after wins against Mike Richman, Martin Stapleton, en Isao Kobayashi. The 23-year-old Japanese fighter has only lost once in six appearances under the Bellator MMA banner and has notched 15 zijn 19 wins as a professional by way of submission.

Look for the 31-year-old to make an impression against the bantamweight division’s newest commodity.

Kakai is one of Bellator MMA’s latest signings, joining the fray after a two-fight stint in the UFC. “Zohan," 26, hails from Sweden and owns 10 finishes in his 12 victories as a professional fighter. With a bantamweight title fight one-week prior and another marquee 135-pound pairing in the main event, it will be interesting to see what a win does for Kakai in the grand scheme of things.

M-1 Challenge 64 Bonus Performances Announce

MOSKOU (Februari 29, 2016) – M-1 Global has announced its M-1 Challenge 64bonus performances, highlighted by co-Fight of the Night awards, along with KO of the Night and Submission of the Night.

Veteran Russian fighter Alexander Shlemenklo (52-9-0), a three-time Bellator champion, won a close unanimous decision over former 2-division M-1 Challenge division Vyacheslav Vasilevsky (28-3-0), van Rusland, in their M-1 Global Grand Prix Middleweight Tournament co-Fight of the Night match (hieronder afgebeeld).

CHEICK KONGO INCHES PAST VINICIUS SPARTAN IN ‘BELLATOR 150’ MAIN EVENT ON SPIKE

MULVANE, Mei. (Februari 26, 2015) – A week removed from the most watched Bellator MMA event in company history, the Scott Coker-led promotion returned to action on SPIKE with "Bellator 150: Kongo vs. Queiroz,” an event that delivered five spectacular main card fights.

In main event van de avond, Cheick Kongo (24-10-2) intelligently managed the distance between he and Vinicius Spartan (8-4), kicking and jabbing his way to a split decision victory (30-27, 28-29, 29-28).

Spartan did have his moments during the heavyweight encounter, securing takedowns in rounds two and three, followed by a knockdown late. Both men had their moments during the action, but after a knee to the body dropped Cooper to his knees, “The Caveman” pummelled his foe with hammerfists until referee John McCarthy called a stop to the action.

Kendall Grove (23-15) gestopt Francisco France (13-4-1) with a vicious punch 35 seconden in de tweede ronde, winning by knockout. The victory was an emotional one for “Da Spyder,” who recently lost his brother and made it clear his performance was dedicated to his late sibling. Grove has now won three of his last four tilts, all via finish.

Chuka Willis (7-2) handed Gaston Reyno (5-1) the first defeat of his mixed martial arts career on Friday, winning via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27). The scrap went back-and-forth over the course of 15 notulen, with multiple submission attempts and knockdowns by both men. MULVANE, Mei. (Februari 25, 2015) – Over the course of fight week, Marcos "Loro" Galvao (17-6-1) has been battling an illness. After consulting physicians, Bellator officials have decided to to pull him from his Bellator MMA Bantamweight Title defense against former champion Eduardo Dantas (17-4).

After making weight inside Kansas Star Arena at 10 a.m. CT, Dantas was paid his show money. The fight will be rescheduled in the near future.

MONTE CARLO, Monaco (Februari 25, 2016)- Wereld MMA Association (WMMAA) vice-president Tomas Yu, van Albuquerque (NM), die ook voorzitter is van de Pan-Amerikaanse divisie WMMAA, nam de tijd van zijn drukke agenda om vragen over zijn MMA-achtergrond en ervaring te beantwoorden, de sport van MMA en WWMMA in het bijzonder.

Kun je ons iets vertellen over jou en je ervaring in Martial Arts??
TY: “Ik ben van de generatie die is opgegroeid met kijken 3 Ninjas,Ninja schildpadden… Ik wilde een ninja worden! Ik ben opgegroeid met Tae Kwon Do in Mexico, helemaal tot aan mijn zwarte band. Op leeftijd 18, Ik waagde het om Aikido en Judo te beoefenen in El Paso, Texas. Ik hield van leren en ik wilde altijd al een afgeronde student zijn, daarom heb ik altijd naar verschillende kunsten gezocht om de zwakheden van de ander te compenseren.”

Hoe ben je voor het eerst in de wereld van MMA gekomen??
TY: “Ik was echt op zoek naar een plek waar ik mijn dochter kennis kon laten maken met Martial Arts. Ik was op zoek naar een meer afgeronde zelfverdedigings Martial Art, maar geen vechtclub. Ik maakte kennis met de sport van MMA door een goede vriend en pionier in de sport, Chris Luttrell. Ik was meteen verbonden met de sport, want dat is waar alle krijgskunstenaars ooit naar op zoek zijn.”

Wanneer hoorde u voor het eerst van MMA en wat was uw eerste indruk?? Deed
je verwacht dat deze sport evenveel zal groeien als nu?
TY: “Sindsdien heb ik het voorrecht om de evolutie van MMA te zien 1993 als een tiener, helemaal tot nu, de eerste Pan-American Division President worden in de belangrijkste reguleringsorganisatie voor MMA ter wereld.”

Wat is uw functie en hoofdactiviteiten binnen WMMAA?
TY “Mijn grootste functie is om eenvoudige zakelijke principes te introduceren in de sport van MMA en krijgskunst in MMA te houden. Wat ik daarmee bedoel is, de gemene deler voor elke individuele echtelijke kunst zijn (Respect, Loyaliteit, Eer) en de mix van vechtsporten mag niet vertegenwoordigen wat mensen denken dat MMA tegenwoordig is. Het zou een mengeling van respect moeten zijn, Loyaliteit en eer. Het zou een veel meer bewonderde sport moeten zijn.”

Hoe zou u de voortgang van WMMAA beoordelen tijdens zijn driejarige bestaan??
TY: “Goed, als ondernemer, Ik ben nooit tevreden, Ik zie altijd manieren om dingen beter te doen, maar de realiteit is dat, in de 25+ jaren MMA is geëvolueerd en niet alleen een mix van vechtsporten, maar ook een echte blauwe sport. Veel mensen hebben geprobeerd om waarde toe te voegen aan de sport zonder echt succes tot de afgelopen twee jaar met de WMMAA.”

Wat zijn de belangrijkste doelen van WMMAA en wat zijn de belangrijkste obstakels voor de vereniging?
TY: “Deze vraag heeft een lang en ingewikkeld antwoord! Het belangrijkste obstakel is trots, trots om toe te geven dat prestaties uit het verleden of formules om waarde toe te voegen niet en zullen werken. Trots om toe te geven dat samenwerking een nieuwe weg zal banen. Het nummer twee obstakel, BEGRIJPT, het grote geheel begrijpen, zoals micro- en macro-economie eigenlijk twee verschillende werelden zijn.

“De sport of kunst van MMA is veel meer dan wat we op televisie zien. Er is een veel diepere impact op de samenleving dan pay-per-view.”

Hoe beoordeelt u het derde Wereldkampioenschap dat plaatsvond in
Praag?

TY: “Momenten zoals deze zijn degenen die 3 jaren geleden zouden we dromen. Goed, vorig jaar kwam die droom uit… over 40 landen namen deel aan de prachtige stad Praag. Ik kan de botsing van emoties niet uitleggen als je land na land ziet en hoort dat wordt aangekondigd terwijl ze de arena binnenlopen met opgeheven hoofd terwijl ze hun nationale vlag dragen.

Wij als organisatie hebben Continental Presidents opgericht om beter te kunnen presteren en ook gevoeliger te onderhandelen in verschillende culturele omgevingen. Ons organisatiecomité voor Europa en Tsjechië heeft fantastisch werk geleverd.

Waren er landen die opvielen of je verrasten??
TY: “Het feit dat ze er waren, dat is wat echt opvalt! Sommige landen deden voor het eerst mee. Het niveau van mentale concurrentie was voor sommige landen verbazingwekkend. Ik kan niet wachten op de 2016 Wereldkampioenschappen.”

Wat zijn de doelstellingen voor de middellange termijn voor WMMAA PanAm?
TY: “De belangrijkste focus voor PANAM is de uitrol van ons nieuwe initiatief over ‘Global MMA Officials and Licensing’ om de sport wereldwijd te standaardiseren, maar standaardiseer ook de ambtenaren die uitkijken naar de sport.”

Kunt u wat omschrijven? 2015 was zoals voor WMMAA?
TY: “2015 was een jaar van stichtingen, rekruteren, en de voorbereiding op de groeivolumes die dit jaar op ons afkomen.”

Welke woorden van wijsheid zou je willen delen met de leden van de WMMAA-familie?
TY: “Ik heb altijd gezegd dat er in elke sport een bedrijf achter zit, geloven: ‘Tot zover, MMA is als kapitaal… het gaat waar het wordt verwelkomd en het blijft waar het goed wordt behandeld '”

WMMAA blijft uitbreiden. Er zijn echter nog steeds meerdere landen die
zijn nog geen WMMAA-leden. Waarom zou een lokale federatie zich aanmelden?
voor WMMAA-lidmaatschap?

TY: “Wij zijn de enige organisatie in zijn soort. Ze zouden cursussen kunnen volgen, nationale en internationale licenties maar, belangrijker, ze kunnen deel uitmaken van de geschiedenis door atleten in hun respectievelijke landen toe te staan deel te nemen aan onze versie van de Olympische Spelen van MMA.”

Wat zou je ze vertellen??

SECOND PRO BOXING BOUT ANNOUNCED FOR NEF 22

Lewiston, Maine (Februari 25, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF), Amerika's nummer een regionale strijd promotie, zal zijn volgende evenement te houden, “NEF 22: Alle wegen leiden HIER” op Zaterdag, April 23, 2016bij de Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. Crowsneck Boutin, a regular on NEF MMA cards since 2012, made his professional boxing debut earlier this month on the “NEF 21” event in Lewiston. Brandon Montella is a 1998 graduate of Carrabec High School in North Anson, Maine. Following graduation, Montella joined the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and served until 2003 with an honorable discharge. Montella worked in construction in Virginia until 2011 when he moved with his wife to the Boston, Massachusetts area. He owns and operates The Way, LLC boxing gym in Woburn, Massachusetts.

“Coming back home from to Maine after all these years to fight in a place of such history is an amazing feeling,” said Montella. “It will bring my friends and family from the past and the present together under one roof for an awesome event.”

Montella had a very successful amateur boxing career with a final record of 14-7. In 2011, he won the prestigious Rocky Marciano Tournament. Montella went on to win the New England Golden Gloves the following year. Hij draaide zich pro in 2015 and has won his first three bouts with two finishes.
