THE HEAVYWEIGHTS ARE READY TO THROW DOWN AT NEF 37 V BANGORU

It has been nearly three years since the last time Bryce Bamford stepped into the NEF cage. The 43-year-old has stopped both of his previous opponents in the first round. Bamford trains with First Class MMA based in Brunswick, Maine and is looking forward to returning to the cage to compete once again in front of his many friends and fans. He is the training partner of former NEF Amateur Heavyweight Champion Nick Gulliver (4-1).

“I’m looking forward to stepping back in the NEF cage,” said Bamford. “I’m coming ready for a hard fight.”

Roger Ewer, a pharmacist by day, will enter the NEF cage for the second time as an amateur. He debuted in Bangor in August 2017 with a second-round technical knockout victory. Ewer is a member of Young’s MMA. “NEF 37” will mark the second time that he has competed on the same card as his brother, and reigning NEF Professional Middleweight Champion, CJ Ewer (3-2).

“I am extremely eager to step into the cage on February 1st,” řekl Ewer. “I’ve been hard at work in the gym preparing and I am looking forward to facing this opponent. I am honored to represent Young’s MMA in the cage and fighting on the same card as CJ again. I love the energy of the hometown crowd and I know it’s going be one hell of a night”

LEAR AND RICHARD TO VIE FOR FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE AT NEF 37 V BANGORU

Fred Lear will look to replicate the success he had the last time he fought in Bangor. In August 2017, Lear captured the amateur bantamweight strap with a second-round technical knockout of Walt Shea (3-1) at the Cross Insurance Center.

Lear has had a stellar amateur career fighting out of Young’s MMA in Bangor. Prior to competing in mixed-martial-arts, Lear wrestled for John Bapst High School also based in the Queen City. He has won his last three in a row in the MMA cage. Should Lear win the featherweight title, he will become the first competitor in NEF history to hold championships in multiple weight divisions.

“This title fight is an opportunity to develop and grow,” said Lear. “An undefeated opponent with nothing but finishes, I like it—it’s polarizing. I want to turn professional. This is how I get better, that’s all I’m focused on.”

Like Lear, Zac Richard brought a wrestling background with him to the MMA cage. He won a state championship in 2015 competing for Massabesic High School in Waterboro, Maine. Richard now trains with Nostos MMA of Somersworth, New Hampshire under head coach, current UFC competitor, a bývalý NEF Professional Lehká Champion, Devin Powell (9-4).  Richard has finished all three of his previous opponents in the first round.

LOS ANGELES - Bellator is pleased to announce that the organization’s current bantamweight titleholder Darrion Caldwell (13-1) will represent the promotion in an exciting matchup against 2017 Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix winner Kyoji Horiguchi (25-2). NEW YORK – November 27, 2018 – Combate Americas today announced a pair of “alternate” bouts for its much-anticipated, biggest event of the year – the “COPA COMBATE” one-night, eight-man Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) tournament that will award its featherweight (145 liber) winner of three consecutive bouts a $100,000 grand prize at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Kalif. v pátek, Prosince. 7.

 

The second annual “COPA COMBATE” tournament airs live in English in the U.S. a Kanadě na DAZN (10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT), and live on television in Spanish in the U.S. on both Univision (12 a.m. ET / PT) a Univision Deportes Network (UDN) (12 a.m. AND / p.m 9. PT), and marks the first time in history that California State will sanction a one-night, eight-man MMA tournament.

 

In one of two tournament alternate bouts announced today, Michael Irizarry (9-2) San Juan, Puerto Rico will take on Pablo "El Gallo Negro" Sabori (8-5) ze San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexiko, and in the second alternate bout, Joey “El Cazador” Ruquet (6-1) Las Vegas, Nev., USA will face off with” Ruthless” Rudy Morales (5-6) of Las Vegas via Guatemala City, Guatemala.

 

Should any of the winners of the four quarterfinal stage tournament bouts be unable to re-enter La Jaula, soutěžní klec Combate Americas, for his semifinal stage bout due to injury sustained in quarterfinal stage action, one of the two tournament alternate bout winners will replace the injured competitor in the semifinal stage of the tournament.

In “COPA COMBATE” preliminary bout action announced today, local police officer Evan “Pitbull” Solorio (3-2) of Fresno will face off with Jimmy “Mamba” Molina (0-0) ze Spokane, Wash., USA in a welterweight (170 liber) soutěž.

 

In a battle of two professional debut competitors, Albert Gonzales (0-0) of Fresno will collide with James Porter (0-0) Fresno.
