Perkins vs. Andreozzi is a terrific match-up of entertaining fighters. The 32-year-old Perkins, A gravedigger from nearby Lynn (М-р), is a powerfully aggressive puncher who doesn’t mind taking a few punches to land one damaging shot, while former Massachusetts Middleweight ChampionAndreozzi, of Swansea (М-р), is a grinder who enjoys exchanging punches from start to finish.

Perkins and Andreozzi are throwback fighters who could fight in a proverbial phone booth, providing non-stop action in an entertaining, competitive encounter for a regional title.

A gravedigger from nearby Lynn (М-р), the 32-year-old Perkins was a solid hockey player at St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, who also had another intensive labor job working on a lobster boat. He is a strong, aggressive puncher who has successfully transitioned from the super middleweight division to light heavyweight.

Andreozzi, of Swansea (М-р), who is a former Massachusetts Middleweight Champion, has overcome a serious injury to become a title challenger. He broke his lower leg that resulted in 2 major surgeries that kept him sidelined for a full year. Andreozzi is back, hungry and ready for Perkins.

Undefeated light heavyweight New Bedford Edet Mkapanam battling back from surgeries Granite Chin’s “Hometown Royalty” this Saturday in Bridgewater, М-р (see attached with pictures)

QUINCY, Маса. (Мај 3, 2022) – Undefeated New Bedford (М-р) light heavyweight prospect Edet Mkapanam (6-0, 5 КО) is battling back from retina and shoulder surgeries that sidelined him 16 months before his successful ring return this past March.


The 27-year-old Mkapanam faces Scott “Bombz” Scott on the May 7та Hometown Royalty” card, presented by Granite Chin Promotions in association with Cappiello Boxing Promotions and Shearns Boxing Promotions, at Bridgewater Veterans Club in Bridgewater, Масачусетс (85 Cottage St.), marking the first professional boxing event ever held in that town.


Raised in Brockton, known as the “City of Champions, Mkapanam had an abbreviated amateur career (8-3), although he was a heavyweight winner in the 2017 Rocky Marciano Tournament, as well as runner-up a year later in the prestigious New England Golden Gloves Championships.


Mkapanam had back-to-back surgeries, starting with a torn ligament in his shoulder, followed by surgery to repair his retina in the right eye.


“I didn’t have much of an amateur career and I’ve been learning on the job (како про),” Mkapanam explained. “I learned in the gym sparring with some of the top fighters in New England like Peter Manfredo, Џуниор. and Mark Deluca. Во мојот ум, I wanted to continue fighting and I kept working hard in the gym while recovering. Some doctors said I shouldn’t fight again, so I upped my intensity in the gym, and when I was examined again the doctors said my eye was a lot better and I was cleared to fight. I had a tough training camp before my last fight, the first after my surgeries, and I wasn’t even thinking about my eye during that fight.”


Mkapanam looked relatively sharp in his March 19та comeback fight, stopping pro debut fighter Igor Pessoa in the third round of their fight in Derry, Њу Хемпшир.

QUINCY, Маса. (Март 16,  2022) – Granite Chin Promotions has announced its third promotional event of 2022, “Hometown Royalty,” scheduled on Saturday night, May 7th, at Bridgewater Veterans Club in Bridgewater, Масачусетс (85 Cottage St.).

“Hometown Royalty,” is presented by Granite Chin in association with Cappiello Boxing Promotions and Shearns Boxing Promotions.

Professional boxers from the South Shore of the Bay State will be featured including reigning New England Welterweight Champion Mike “Ban Man” Ohan (14-1, 8 КО), of Holbrook, Quincy lightweight Ryan “The Polish Prince” Kielczweski (30-6, 11 КО), New Bedford light heavyweight Edet Mkpanam (5-0, 4 КО), and Brockton’s pro-debut of 2020 Нова Англија Златен Ракавици шампион, welterweight David Ribeiro.

The 22-year-old Molina (7-0, 2 КО), fighting out of Lowell (М-р), will face “Outlaw” Ryan Venable (2-10, 6 КО) in the 6-round main event.


Woburn (М-р) middleweight Julien “Black Dragon” Baptiste (3-1, 2 КО) faces Brian Urday (1-0), of Whitman (М-р), in an 6-round co-featured event that could steal the “Slugfest” show.

QUINCY, Маса. (Март 1, 2022) – Granite Chin Promotions returns to the Granite State on March 19та with another professional boxing card, “Slugfest,” at New England Sports Center in Derry, Њу Хемпшир.


“Slugfest” will be the second Granite Chin event promoted three weeks having presented “Showcase” this past Saturday night in Framingham, Масачусетс.

“After an exciting show in Framingham last weekend,” Granite State president Chris Traietti said, “I am excited to get back to Derry, Њу Хемпшир, where we have had a ton of success during the last two years.”


Undefeated lightweight prospect Nicholas “Saint Nick” Molina (7-0, 2 КО), fighting out of Lowell, Масачусетс, will headline “Slugfest” in an 8-round bout against “Outlaw” Ryan Venable (2-10, 6 КО).

The 27-year-old Todd, fighting out of Atlanta, won on two of the three judges’ scorecards, 97-93 и 96-94, as the other had it a 95-95 подготви. More impressive was Todd defeating a fighter who is under contract to the event promoter, Dmitriy Salita.

“The way Antonio handled himself throughout the whole process leading up to the Centano fight is a testament to his character and drive,” Traietti commented. “At first, the fight was on, then off, then back on again. QUINCY, Маса. (Јануари 3, 2022) – Granite Chin Promotions has announced its first event of 2022, “Showcase,” scheduled on Saturday night, Февруари 26та, at Sheraton Hotel in Framingham, Масачусетс.

“Showcase” will mark Granite Chin’s first event in Massachusetts in more than 2 години, as well as being only the second professional boxing show ever in Framingham, which is located 23 miles west of Boston.

“I am excited to be coming back to Massachusetts,” Granite Chin president Chris Traietti said. “Between changes occurring with the commission, then COVID, I just felt like it was a good time to step away for a bit, head up to New Hampshire and let things sort of settle in Massachusetts. Now that things are sort of back to normal, I feel like the time is right to bring our great club-show boxing back to Massachusetts. This card is going to be highly competitive from top to bottom. I have the roster now where I can both develop fighters and put on high quality local shows. 2020 was about making good relationships with other promoters and matchmakers; 2021 about developing a quality roster and keeping guys busy during a pandemic. 2022 is going to be geared towards becoming the face of quality local boxing shows and getting Granite Chin fighters on high-level, world-class cards all across the country.”

The 8-round main event will pit local favorite Nelson “Chino” Perez (5-0, 2 КО) against New Jersey veteran super lightweight Tyrone “Hands of Stone” Luckey (15-16-4, 11 КО).

Perez is a native of Puerto Rico who lives in Marlboro (М-р), which borders Framingham. A past New England Golden Gloves champion as an amateur, Perez is coming off a dominating 4-round unanimous decision victory (40-34 X 3) Декември 4та against Raymundo Rios Cardies on a DAZN card in Manchester, Њу Хемпшир. Perez will be fighting in his first scheduled 8-round bout.

Luckey, fighting out of Manahawkin, Њу Џерси, is the reigning ABF USA Mid-American Super Lightweight Champion. The dangerous Luckey has been a gatekeeper of lightweight up to welterweight divisions having fought top prospects such as Mike Ohan, Џуниор. Џемаин Ортиз, Tyler Tomlin, and Frank Martin. Luckey has recent back-to-back victories against previously unbeaten Eduardo Aquilar.

Hot welterweight prospect Denzel “Double Impact” Whitley (7-0, 5 КО), of Holyoke (М-р), faces Alfred “Keenan” Raymond (1-0) in the 6-round co-featured event.

Denzel, the latest member of the “Fightin’ Whitley family,” is trained by his father and uncle, соодветно, Derrick and Darrin, who were respected pro fighters in New England.
