MONTOYA STEPS UP TO FACE SANDERS ON SEPTEMBER 8 IN BANGOR

Bangor, Maine (Agost 8, 2018) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) will hold its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 35: Wicked Season,” a Setembre 8 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Total, Sanders is on a roll, having won six of his last seven. During that stretch, he captured the NEF Professional Lightweight Title, knocked out veteran John Ortolani (8-13) in a mere 15-seconds, and literally tore Vince McGuiness’ (5-8) arm out of its socket earlier this summer at “NEF 34” in Portland, Maine.

Unfortunately for Sanders, his meteoric rise to the top of New England’s 155-pound division over the course of the last two years has come with consequences. He has called out virtually every other top lightweight prospect in the region in recent months with the sound of crickets as the only response. It is a testament to both Sanders’ skill and the respect, (or fear for that matter), that his peers hold for him. Hence Sanders’ move to the heavier welterweight division to find opponents willing to step in the cage across from him.

“I am excited that I get another chance to fight in my backyard,” said Sanders. “I appreciate Montoya for taking this fight because not many men are willing to fight me regionally. I look forward to displaying my ever evolving tool set come Setembre 8 and getting another step closer to being the best in the world. It’ll be a great night for Young’s MMA and myself.”

Armando Montoya is a longtime veteran of the MMA cage. He started his professional career back in 2009 on the West Coast and has competed extensively throughout the Southwest over the years. Montoya has fought for national promotions like King of the Cage and the Resurrection Fighting Alliance. Recentment, Montoya relocated to Maine where he trains with First Class MMA in Brunswick. The bout with Sanders will be his first fight back from a layoff that began in early 2017.

EWER WILL TRY TO MAKE CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY AT NEF 32

Lewiston, Maine (Desembre 28, 2017) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) returns to Lewiston on Saturday, Febrer 3, 2018 amb el següent esdeveniment mixt d'arts marcials de la promoció lluita, “NEF 32: Super Saturday.” El dia d'avui, NEF announced the addition of a professional championship bout to the card. The bout will put Ewer in a unique position – to hold titles simultaneously in two weight divisions. It is a feat that has been attempted but never accomplished in NEF. Ewer is the reigning professional middleweight titleholder of the organization. He captured that title with a victory over Mike Hansen (5-8) last summer at “NEF 30” in Bangor, Maine. It took Ewer less than two minutes to finish Hansen with an arm triangle choke. The win not only earned Ewer the middleweight title but also a nomination for “2017 Submission of the Year.” Should Ewer emerge victorious over Lachinov on February 3, he will stand atop both the welterweight and middleweight divisions. He represents Young’s MMA of Bangor.

 

 

“My opponent is fierce with a granite jaw and an iron will,” va dir Ewer. “He’s by far the toughest fighter I’ve faced, and there will be a lot of pressure going into this fight given that it’s a title fight. I always rise to the level of competition and promise you’ll see the best, most prepared CJ you’ve ever seen.”

 

 

Kemran Lachinov is a seven-year veteran of the New England MMA scene. He is also a two-fight veteran of the Bellator cage where he remains undefeated. Lachinov is currently riding a three-fight win streak which began in early 2017. He will look to continue that success into 2018 starting with his bout against Ewer. Lachinov represents Team Link of Ludlow, Massachusetts.

Jayda Bailey made headlines this year when she became the youngest athlete to ever compete in a sanctioned MMA fight in Maine. PER PUBLICACIÓ IMMEDIATA: Portland, Maine (Agost 30, 2017) Lluites -Nova Anglaterra (NEF) will make its long-awaited debut in Portland onDivendres, Novembre 3, 2017 at Aura with “NEF 31: The Old Port.” El dia d'avui, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur mixed-martial-arts bout to the card. jayda “lil Killah” Muralla exterior (0-0) està programat per enfrontar Danae Dostie (0-0) in a female bantamweight contest.

Muralla exterior, a senior at Hermon High School in Hermon, Maine, will turn 18 (the legal minimum age for one to compete in MMA in Maine) a mere eight days before the fight, thereby making her the youngest person in history to ever compete in a regulated MMA fight in the state. She has trained in the martial arts since the age of four and has been a member of Young’s MMA in Bangor since age twelve. Bailey also wrestles for Bucksport High School as Hermon does not have a team. A l'edat de 15, she traveled to New Mexico to train at the world famous Jackson Wink MMA Academy where she worked with the likes of former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm (11-3). She currently serves as a member of the military police with the Maine Army National Guard. Dostie represents Kenney’s MMA of Lisbon, Maine.

“I’m very excited for my first fight in NEF,” said Dostie. “It will be fun to see how this fight goes. I know either way I will learn a lot.”

WOMEN’S FIGHT AT RUMBLE IN BANGOR WILL PROVIDE THE FIREWORKS

If there is anyone who knows about putting on exciting fights, it is Angela Young. The wife of Young’s MMA founder Chris Young, una mare, and a full-time nurse, she has brought the heat in all four of her previous contests for NEF, earning several “Baralla de la Nit” honors. Young had the crowd on the edge of its seat for her thrilling encounter with Christine Brothwell earlier this year – a fight she won via unanimous decision. She has never backed down, even when on the losing end of a slugfest like the one she had with Kylie O’Hearn on Cape Cod last year, and it has made her one of the most popular fighters with the NEF audience. Based on their styles, Young predicts yet another strike-fest full of fireworks when she meets Borga on August 5th.

“I’m beyond excited for the match up with Borga for NEF in Bangor,” va dir Young. “I respect her as a fighter and even more so for traveling to Maine once again take a fight. Neither one of us are afraid to stand and bang, making this a fight people aren’t going to want to miss.”

Jessica Borga of Florida will make the trip north to compete in Maine for the third time in less than a year. She made her NEF debut last September and quickly became a favorite of Pine Tree State fight fans. Al novembre passat, Borga put on a dominant performance in Lewiston, winning a unanimous decision over black belt Brianne Genschel. She has captured multiple regional titles in the southeast portion of the country. Borga looks forward to returning to fight in front of her Maine fans once again.

“I can’t wait to be back at NEF for 2017,” exclaimed Borga when reached for comment. “I’ve been waiting to come back and show what I’ve learned. I appreciate Angela Young stepping up to put on a show for everyone. I’ll be ready and can’t wait to show my improvements.”

REGISTERED NURSES TO THROW DOWN AT NEF 27

Lewiston, Maine (Desembre 13, 2016) Lluites -Nova Anglaterra (NEF) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Febrer 11, 2017 with its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 27: RESURGENCE.” El dia d'avui, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur women’s bout to the card. Angela Young (1-2) returns to the NEF cage to take on Christine Brothwell (0-2) in the flyweight division.

 

Jove, the wife of Young’s MMA founder and head coach Chris Young, made her MMA debut in the fall of 2015. Somehow finding the time to fight while being a fulltime mother and working overnight as a registered nurse, Young would compete three times in just an eight-month period. Guanyi o perdi, she has been known to put on “fight of the night” performances, including Young’s last bout with Kylie O’Hearn (1-2) a “NEF 23” in Hyannis, Massachusetts this past May.

 

“I’ve taken some time off from the cage since my last fight, but I’ve never stopped training,” said Young when reached for comment. “Young’s is growing, and team training has been elevated to a higher standard because of the new talent. I’m looking forward to stepping back in the NEF cage in February. I’ve been looking forward to this for a while, and you better believe I’m coming for a win.”

 

Like her opponent, Brothwell is a registered nurse. She is based in New Hampshire and is a member of team Bucket Brigade in Nashua. While she will be making her NEF debut on Febrer 11, Brothwell is no stranger to the MMA cage. She has competed twice previously and she promises a memorable fight for both Young and the fans in Lewiston.

 

“I fully respect my opponent, her abilities and training, but I train with the best in New England,” stated Brothwell. “Guanyi o perdi, you will always remember the time you fought me. This won’t just be the best female fight on the card, it’s going to be fight of the night.”

EX-TEAMMATES TO FIGHT IN MAIN EVENT OF NEF 26

Lewiston, Maine (Octubre 3, 2016) – El dia d'avui, Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) executives announced the main event of “NEF 26: SUPREMACY.” “La” Ryan Sanders (11-8) s'enfrontarà a Jon Lemke (5-6) in a lightweight bout at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston on Dissabte, Novembre 19.

 

At one time, Sanders and Lemke were teammates at Marcus Davis’s Team Irish gym in Brewer, Maine. That all changed when Sanders left and joined cross-town rival Young’s MMA in Bangor.

 

“I’m very happy to be fighting back in Lewiston,” said Sanders. “I’m thankful that Jon took this fight seeing how several top-ten lightweights turned it down. But that’s why I like Jon, he’s a fighter’s fighter and he never backs down from a tough fight. “What a great opportunity I have been presented by New England Fights to fight Ryan Sanders,” dir Lemke. “Ryan has been in, and done well, with the very best of New England. He is a well-rounded fighter and will challenge me in all areas. I very much look forward to this challenge and know that there will be fireworks for sure in this fight.”

YOUNG’S & FIRST CLASS MEET IN SECOND TITLE FIGHT AT NEF 25

Lewiston, Maine (Juny 28, 2016) – Less than 24-hours after the announcement of the amateur light-heavyweight title fight between Young’s MMA’s Victor Irwin (2-0) and First Class MMA’s Nick Shea (2-0), fight promotion New England Fights (NEF) released a second championship bout between the two gyms at “NEF 25: HEROES & VILLAINS.” El invicte Rafael “Air Guard” Velado (3-0), Shea’s teammate at First Class MMA, està programat per enfrontar Jimmy Jackson (3-2), a teammate of Irwin at Young’s MMA, for the vacant NEF mixed-martial-arts (MMA) amateur lightweight title. “Leading up to the Mike Peitersen fight, he and I respectfully challenged each other to train hard and bring it,” Velado continued. “I believe that we did that and then some. Now I have another Young’s fighter in front of me and I couldn’t be happier. Jimmy Jackson has been looking good in his last few outings and I believe we are a good match-up. I see a trend of BJJ players who come over into MMA and think they are just going to jits their way through every fight. I can assure you that I am not that guy and you will see a constant evolution of skills in my fights.”

 

Jackson will have the opportunity to gain a measure of revenge for his team against Velado. After starting his amateur career at 1-2, Jackson has won his last two in a row, including a submission victory over Kris Welch (0-1) a “NEF 16” l'any passat.
