Atlantic City, New Jersey (Mei 16, 2018)–Rising super middengewicht mededinger Derrick Webster will headline a great night of boxing on Vrijdag, June 1st bij The Claridge Hotel when he takes tough veteran Oscar Riojas in a ten-round bout for the ABF Super Middleweight Title in the main event of a nine bout card.

 

 

 

The show, which will coincide with The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame weekend, wordt bevorderd door Mis Downing Promotions.

Webster, who has wins over Frankie Fillipone (22-5-1), Thomas Awimbono (25-5-1), Obodai Sai (23-1), is coming off an eight-round unanimous decision over Francisco Cordero (38-9) on February 10th in Philadelphia.

 

 

 

This will be Webster’s 5th bout in Atlantic City.

In the special co-feature bout, Isiah Seldon of Atlantic City will take on Lamar Harris in a middleweight bout scheduled for six-rounds.

 

 

 

The bout will kick off an historic weekend for Seldon, as his father, the former WBA Heavyweight champion of the world Bruce Seldon will be inducted into the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame.

 

 

 

De 29 year-old Seldon has a record of 11-1-1 met vier knockouts.

Atlantic City, New Jersey (November 2, 2017)–lokale favoriet Anthony “Sap” Jong will headline a special night of action dubbed “Boardwalk Brawls 2” op Zaterdag, December 16th bij The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
The show is promoted by Mis Downing Promotions.
Young of Atlantic City has a record of 18-2 met zes knockouts, and is riding a seven fight winning streak.
De 29 year-old Young is a six-year veteran who has garnered wins over Jose Javier Calderon (4-1), and is coming off a six-round unanimous decision over 56-fight veteran Carlos Winston Velasquez on August 19th at The Claridge.
This will be Young’s 4th consecutive start at The Claridge and 12th overall fight in his hometown of Atlantic City.
Young’s opponent in the scheduled ten-round bout will be announced shortly.
Appearing the eight-round heavyweight co-feature will be Heavyweight Chazz Witherspoon.
Witherspoon van Paulsboro, New Jersey heeft een record van 36-3 met 28 knock-outs.

Witherspoon’s opponent will be announced shortly.
An all-star lineup makes up an exciting undercard.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ-It was a bittersweet night for welterweight contender Thomas LaManna as he won a 10-round unanimous decision over George Sosa in an entertaining bout in front of a capacity crowd at The Claridge Hotel In Atlantic City.

The 11-bout card was promoted by Rising Promotions.

LaManna won the WBC Silver Latino Welterweight title and shortly after, het gevechtsvliegtuig bekend als “Cornflake” promptly announced his retirement in the ring.

The two traded big blows throughout the bout as Sosa came out very aggressively and was able to land some good right hands. LaManna was giving better of the two-way action, which had the sold-out crowd very enthused throughout the contest.
In de tweede ronde, Sosa started to swell under his left eye. In ronde zes, He started bleeding badly from his nose as the result of pinpoint shots from LaManna.

In ronde zes, LaManna was dominant by scoring two knockdowns from body shots. LaManna was relentless in battering Sosa all over the ring with Sosa lucky to hear the bell to culminate the round. Both guys traded hard shots down the stretch with LaManna getting the better of the action. Every so often, Sosa was able to score with hard shots, but they were few and far between.
LaManna sat down on his punches and landed thudding blows as he tried to get the stoppage against the tough Sosa.

LaManna, 147 lbs van Millville, NJ gewonnen door scores van 98-90 tweemaal en 99-88 to raise his record to 24-2. Sosa of Reading, PA valt op 15-10.

“The body work, the distance and the jab was working for me. He was long and tall so we worked on the distance and I started to put my punches together. The body work is what put him down,”zei LaManna. “I took some shots from him, but that is not what I go in wanting to do. I wore him down, worked the body, touched his arms and touched his body.”

“It feels so great to win a championship and to get that hardware.”

Then LaManna announced that this would be his last fight.

“It’s Over. It’s Over. I put a lot of years into this. Dit is het. I want to thank my parents, Vinny Ponte my promoter, my trainer and everybody who have helped me along the way.”
Voormalig wereldkampioen Imamu Mayfield en Lamont Capers slugged it out to an eight-round split draw in their cruiserweight bout.

In ronde zes, Mayfield was cut over his left eye from a punch, and Capers had bad swelling over his left eye from a headbutt.Each fighter took a card by a 77-75, tally while 3rd card read even at 76-76.

Mayfield, 200 lbs of Freehold, NJ is now 26-10-3. Capers, 196 lbs of Hawley, PA is 7-10-3.

Yurik Mamedov won a six-round unanimous decision over Ariel Vasquez in a welterweight bout.

Mamedov, 145.5 pond van Brooklyn, NY won by scores of 60-54 alle kaarten, en is nu 7-0. Vasquez, 145.3 lbs van Managua, NIC is 12-19-2.

Emmanuel Rodriguez won a four round unanimous decision over pro debuting Willie Anderson.

Scores waren 40-36 on all cards for Rodriguez, 119 lbs van Newark, NJ, and he is now 2-0. Anderson, 122 lbs of Paulsboro, NJ is 0-1.

Anderson is the son of former Los Angeles Rams Wide Receiver Willie “Flipper” Anderson.

Vidal Rivera won a four-round unanimous decision over Weusi Johnson in a featherweight bout.

Despite being cut over his left eye in round two, Rivera was able to sweep all cards to the tune of 40-36.

Rivera, 128.6 lbs of Camden, NJ is now 7-0. Johnson, 130.3 lbs of Wilmington, DE is 2-5.

Frederick Julan stopped Tahlik Taylor in the 6th and final round of their light heavyweight bout.

Julan landed a hard left that sent Taylor staggering back into the ropes, en de wedstrijd werd gestopt op 1:15.

Nahir Albright flattened Ronald Logan in 77 seconds of their scheduled four-round junior welterweight bout.

Albright landed a perfect right that sent Logan down for several minutes.

Albright, 139.1 lbs of Philadelphia is 2-1 met een knock-out. Logan, 140 lbs of New York, NY is 0-2.

Anthony Young won a six-round unanimous decision over Carlos Winston Velasquez in a welterweight bout.

Jong, 144 1/2 lbs of Pleasantville, NJ gewonnen door scores van 60-54 alle kaarten, en is nu 18-2. Velasquez, 145 1/2 lbs van Managua, NIC is 25-30-2.

Joshafat Ortiz won a four-round unanimous decision over Sidell Blocker in a lightweight bout.

Atlantic City, NJ (Augustus 16, 2017)–Deze zaterdag nacht, Thomas LaManna zal op zich te nemenGeorge Sosa in a ten-round bout for the WBC Silver Latino Welterweight bout that will headline a big 11 bout card at what is expected to be a sold out Calridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
The show, promoted by Rising Promotions, is the 9th card that will be staged before a capacity crowd.
Both main event fighters recently gave their final comments before Saturday’s showdown.
” I’m just ready to fight and I hope he is too. I encourage people to come to this action packed, stacked event. 12 bouts featuring some of the hottest prospects and a title fight,” zei LaManna.
“I think LaManna is a boxer who has not fought anyone of my caliber yet, and unlike me, I have fought everyone,” said Sosa. LaManna has been protected during his whole career, Do I think he will be easy? Niet Doen. There is no such thing as an easy fight. He is his Mommy and Daddy;s baby. When he fought somebody with caliber, he lost.”
Despite his 15-9 record, Sosa knows a win can change his whole career.
“This fight is for the WBC Silver title, and would definitely change my career. Before I would just take fights because I needed the money to take care of my family in Cuba. I was too busy partying, and not taking matters seriously. Like my last fight with Anthony Young, I arrived three days before the weigh-in, en ik was 21 pounds over the weight. Webster won his first 19 uiteinden, which was highlighted by a first round stoppage over Obodai Sai (23-1). Since suffering his only professional blemish, which was a unanimous decision defeat to Arif Magomedov on ShoBox: The New Generation, Webster has rebounded nicely with wins over Thomas Awimbono (25-5) to win the USBO Super Middleweight title, and his last outing when he stopped Frankie Filippone (22-5-1) in seven rounds on May 13th in Bristol, Pennsylvania to win the World Boxing Foundation International Super Middleweight title.
Webster’s opponent will be named shortly.

Pennsauken, NJ (April 16, 2015)-–Op Zaterdag nacht, April 18 bij de GPG Event Center (Voorheen de Woodbine Inn) in Pennsauken, New Jersey, ongeslagen vedergewicht Vidal Rivera gaat op zoek naar zijn 2e opeenvolgende zege wanneer hij op Tyron Stewart in een gevecht Sched voor vier rondes.
In het main event, zwaargewicht mededinger Chazz Witherpsoon zullen in actie wanneer hij op Galen Brown in een gevecht gepland voor 10 ronden.

Rivera van Camden, New Jersey maakte een sensatie pro-debuut op Januari 24 toen hij haalde Jose Garcia in een round-. Hij registreerde drie knockdowns in het gevecht waarin zijn grote juichende sectie blij dat vanuit het nabijgelegen Camden kwam.
“Alles is al veel,” Said Rivera. “Ik ben gewoon zweten uit de laatste paar pond, maar ik ben precies waar ik wil zijn.”
Rivera zei dat hij minder nerveus dan hij was in zijn eerste reis naar de ring, maar als een vechter, maar hij is klaar voor zijn volgende uitdaging.
“Er zullen altijd vlinders, maar deze keer is het een fluitje van een cent.”
In Stewart, Rivera vecht een man die heeft slechts een gevecht onder zijn riem, alsmede. Dat was een 2e ronde stilstand nederlaag tegen ongeslagen Edwin Reyes laatste Oktober 11.
“Ik weet niets over hem andere dan hij is uit North Carolina. Ik heb altijd trainen als hij is de beste tegenstander die ik zal worden geconfronteerd.”
Rivera werkt als een misdaad analist in Camden. In die lijn van het werk kijkt hij naar video's die zijn verspreid over de stad en hij kan zien wat er gaande is. Hij kan correleren, dat aan zijn jonge professionele carrière.
“Het helpt me met het zijn gericht en discipline. Het geeft mij een mentaliteit en het brengt me in voorhoede van de dingen en als boksen het komt allemaal terug naar mij.”
“Ik verwacht grote dingen van mij. Ik geloof dat ik het op me om iets bijzonders,” afgewerkte Rivera.
