HUMBLE, Texas (Augustus 27, 2021) – Houston boxer Eridson Garcia (14-0, 9 KO) remained undefeated and captured the vacant North American Boxing Federation (NABF) Super Featherweight Championship, winning the main event last night on the latest installment of RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS, gepresenteerd door Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boxing in association with Next Up Fight and the World Cup Boxing Series, at Humble Civic Center, Vernederen, Texas.

The 27-year-old Garcia, who is a native of the Dominican Republic, took a 10-round unanimous decision in convincing fashion from intra-state rival Armando Frausto (9-2-1, 5 KO), fighting out of La Marque, Texas.

There was another draw on last night’s RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS as Austin (TX) super lichtgewicht Robert Kevin Garcia (8-0-1, 6 KO) en Antonius Grable (3-1-1, 3 KO), of Sarasota, Florida, fought to a 6-round draw.

In the opening UFC FIGHT PASS bout of the evening, Houston middleweight Eugene Hill, Jr. (2-0, 2 KO) blasted out New Mexico’s Shane Hall (0-2) at the 45-seconds mark of the opening round. Hall dropped Hall early and the fight was quickly stopped after a subsequent flurry of unanswered punches.

Houston lightweight prospect Luis Acosta (12-0, 11 KO) remained perfect as a professional, registering his 12th victory with 11 knock-outs, versus Italian-born Christian Danilo Guido, who fights out of Argentina, midway through round one.

Veteran Houston super featherweight Pablo "The Lethal Mosquito" Cruz (22-4, 6 KO) out-boxed his Mexican opponent, Jonathan “Zorro” Lecona Ramos (18-32-5, 6 KO) en route to a 6-round unanimous decision.

LAS VEGAS (September 16, 2019) – The next wave of Reno boxers will continue its rich boxing tradition October 25 op “RJJ Boxing op UFC FIGHT PASS®,” co-promoted by Joey Gilbert Promotions in association with Silver Legacy Resort Casino at THE ROW in Reno, Nevada.

The event will be streamed live and exclusively on UFC FIGHT PASS, 's werelds toonaangevende digitale abonnementsdienst voor vechtsporten, vanaf 10 p.m. EN / 7 p.m. PT, from inside the Grande Exposition Hall at Silver Legacy.

Local boxers such as featherweight Ricardo Lucio Galvan (2-0, 2 KO) en super lichtgewicht Wilfred Mariano (1-0, 1 KO) are all slated to fight on the Oct. 25th card against opponents to be determined.

Organized boxing was held during the early 1880’s in small mining towns in the Northwest section of Nevada, professional boxing matches were conducted there later that century.

Hall of Fame promotor Tex Richard and legendary heavyweight Jack Johnson first put Reno on the boxing map on July 4, 1910, when World heavyweight champion successfully defending his title against James J. Jeffries, stopping him in the 15th round at what was reportedly the only venue ever built for a single boxing event. Wanneer President William Taft declined Richard’s offer to referee, Richards became the third man in the ring. Boxing stars including Jake Kilrain, Tommy Burns, en Abe Attell were introduced to the reported crowd of 16,528.

Richard first brought another Hall of Fame heavyweight champion, Jack Dempsey, to Reno in 1915 for his ninth pro fight, when Dempsey stopped Emmanuel Campbell in the fourth round at Airdrome Arena. To fight, Dempsey had to “ride the rails” from Utah to Reno, stored away on a train with hobos. Dempsey returned three years later to knockoutJack Moran in the opening round at Moana Spring Arena.

Dempsey may have been involved in unsanctioned fights in Reno as well. Desperate for money during the early part of his boxing career, Dempsey is infamous for walking into saloons and saying, “I can’t sing, and I can’t dance, but I can lick any SOB in the house.”

In 1982 op HBO, future Hall of Famer “Suiker” Ray Leonard successfully defended his World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight World titles at Centennial Coliseum, uitspelen van Bruce Finch in round three.

Reno-based Gilbert’s first three (2001-2003) and last three (2010) pro fights were held in Reno, where he had a 7-2 (6 KO) pro record.

Hall of Fame scheidsrechter Mills Lane was an adopted son of Reno, arguably the No. 1 referee in the world of boxing, during his high-profile stretch of activity.

Reno has also hosted major amateur boxing events like the 2016 NCBA (college) Western Regional Championships at the Eldorado Hotel and USA Boxing’s 2018 Western Elite Qualifier and Regional Open. Reno will host the 2020 Western Elite Qualifier & Regional Open, Maart 21-28, 2020.

Undefeated super lightweight prospect Kendo “Tremendo” Castaneda (16-0, 7 KO), fighting out of San Antonio, faces Estonia-native Stan Martyniouk (20-2, 6 KO), die woont in Belmont, Californië, in the eight-round main event on Oct. 25th.

The co-featured event pits undefeated Sacramento cruiserweight Blake McKernan (10-0, 2 KO) tegen Francisco Rivas (15-2, 5 KO), van Mexico, in een acht-ronde Bout.

Undefeated WIBA World female bantamweight champion Rosalindo Rodriguez (10-0, 2 KO), van Miami, takes on Las Vegas’ ongeslagen Jamie “The Miracle” Mitchell (5-0-2, 3 KO) in a six-round non-title fight.

LAS VEGAS (Maart 14, 2015) – Gisteravond 50-jarige WBC #16 zwaargewicht mededinger, “Bronco” Billy Wright (47-4, 38 KO), vernietigd Gilberto Matheus Domingos (22-3, 20 KO), het stoppen van de Braziliaanse met een verwoestende lichaam klap op de1:15 mark van de eerste ronde. Met de overwinning, “Bronco” Billy behield zijn WBC LATIJNSAMERIKAANSE enFECARBOX titels, terwijl de uitbreiding van zijn winning streak naar 18, 14 waarvan kwam door middel van knock-out in opeenvolgende periodes .

 

 

“Ik ben erg dankbaar voor de kans om hier mijn WBC riemen te verdedigen in de Verenigde Staten als het is al een lange tijd geleden dat ik hier gevochten.” zei Bronco Billy Wright. “Mauricio Sulaiman heeft een man van zijn woord geweest, bewegende me op de ranglijst als ik blijven gevechten te winnen. Op dit moment ben ik een #16, op zoek naar de top te kraken 15 met deze overwinning. Tegen Domingos, Ik wilde een statement maken en uiteindelijk de strijd vroeg met een knock-out. Het plan was om in te gaan en het land zo veel krachtige body shots mogelijk. Het werkte en ik kwam uit op de top. De wedstrijd vindt plaats op het We Ko Pa Casino in Fort McDowell, Arizona op de RJJ Boksen Promotions kaart Maart 13, 2015. Bronco Billy Wright geeft zijn gedachten op trainingskamp en de verdediging van zijn WBC LATIJNSAMERIKAANSE en FECARBOX titels.

 

Bronco Billy op trainingskamp voorbereidingen….

“Trainingskamp is zwaar geweest rond deze tijd. Ik werk heel hard in de beste vorm van mijn leven te krijgen. Mijn trainer Rafael Garcia Jr. heeft me doen wat uit de doos trainingsmethoden die echte gunstig is geweest om mijn boksen stijl. We zijn klaar met onze laatste dagen van sparring deze week. Ik zal klaar om het te brengen volgende week vrijdag.

 

Bronco Billy geeft zijn gedachten over zijn gevecht met Domingos….

“Ik weet Domingos zal worden op zoek naar de knock-out als am I, dus we zullen zien wie de eerste bom landt. Net als in al mijn gevechten, Ik ga op zoek naar de strijd voortijdig te beëindigen. Als ik moet gaan wat extra rondes, Ik ben ok met dat, want ik ben in goede vorm boksen. Hij gaat wat mijn macht proeven, dat is zeker.

 

Bronco Billy commentaar op de verdediging van zijn WBC-titels….

“Het verdedigen van mijn WBC LATIJNSAMERIKAANSE en FECARBOX titels is een vrij groot probleem voor mij. Het is mijn hefboom om te concurreren op het hoogste niveau als ik probeer te kraken de top tien in de WBC. Op dit moment ben ik op #17, maar ik ben van plan om te gaan met elkaar vechten dit jaar.

 

Bronco Billy bespreekt het zijn een 50-jarige zwaargewicht mededinger….

“Op deze leeftijd voel ik me sterker dan ik was toen ik jonger was. Het is die oude man sterkte Ik denk dat je kunt noemen. Ik ben slimmer, wijzer en meer discipline in deze fase van mijn carrière. Ik heb een doel om de zwaargewicht kampioen van de wereld te worden en de motivatie is groter dan ooit. Veel van deze top kanshebbers zijn schuwt het bestrijden van mij. Ik wil gewoon mijn kans verdienen en vechten de beste.

LAS VEGAS (Februari 11, 2015) – In anticipation of his 10-round main event, gepromoot door RJJ Boksen Promotions op Maart 13, 2015, 50-jaar oud WBC #17 zwaargewicht mededinger, “Bronco” Billy Wright (46-4, 37 KO) will be looking to knockout his opponent Gilberto Matheus Domingos(22-2, 20 KO). The fight will take place at the We Ko Pa Casino in Fort McDowell, Arizona.
