Granite Chin Promotions announces “Hometown Royalty”

QUINCY, Masse. (März 16,  2022) – Granite Chin Promotions has announced its third promotional event of 2022, “Hometown Royalty,” scheduled on Saturday night, May 7th, at Bridgewater Veterans Club in Bridgewater, Massachusetts (85 Cottage St.).

“Hometown Royalty,” is presented by Granite Chin in association with Cappiello Boxing Promotions and Shearns Boxing Promotions.

Professional boxers from the South Shore of the Bay State will be featured including reigning New England Welterweight Champion Mike “Ban Man” Ohan (14-1, 8 KOs), von Holbrook, Quincy lightweight Ryan “The Polish Prince” Kielczweski (30-6, 11 KOs), New Bedford light heavyweight Edet Mkpanam (5-0, 4 KOs), and Brockton’s pro-debut of 2020 New England Golden Gloves Champion, welterweight David Ribeiro.

Vorsehung (RI) welterweight Damon Townes (4-0, 3 KOs) is also slated to be in action.  

“This is the kind of show the South Shore has been waiting for since everything got shut down,” Granite Chin president Chris Traietti said. “It really is an event that everyone – fighters and promoters – are coming together to make something special. Rich Cappiello and Chuck Shearns have been easy to work with and eager to get to work. Over the coming days, we will be announcing fights and getting tickets out to the public. We have no doubt this is going to be a packed house with an electric atmosphere with amateurs fighting during the day and our star-studded pro show in the evening.”

Den Ausverkauften auf den Fersen kommen 4jähriger St. Patrick Tag Clash was sich über angesammelt hat 225,000 Online-Ansichten, Murphy Box freut sich, die Schaffung des Warrior's Code Award um die Leistungen der legendärsten Boxer Neuenglands zu feiern.



Die ersten Preisträger werden 2019 International Boxing Hall of Fame Eingeweihte,Tony DeMarco und einer von Massachusetts’ am meisten dekorierte Amateurboxer, Mike D’Ampolo.


Beide Kämpfer werden als nächstes mit ihren Preisen ausgezeichnet Freitag, 29. März beim Murphys Boxing Event um Gedenkhalle in Melrose, Massachusetts.


Bei 87 Jahre alt, Tony DeMarco hält die Auszeichnung des Seins der älteste lebende Weltmeister im Boxen und ist seit über einem halben Jahrhundert eine beliebte Figur in der Bostoner Sportwelt.


Bekannt als "Nardo", der Bostoner Kämpfer italienischer Abstammung, wurde nur wenige Jahre nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs unglaublich professionell. In einem 14 Jahr Karriere, DeMarco ging 52-12-1 während des Kampfes während des goldenen Zeitalters des Boxens. Seine legendären Schlachten mit Hall of Famers wie Carmen Basilio und Kind Gavilin machte DeMarco zu einem Star und er gewann den Weltmeistertitel im Weltergewicht in 1955 gegen Johnny Saxton im ursprünglichen Boston Garden in einem Kampf, der zu einem der Bostons Spitze 10 Sportliche Momente.


DeMarco, der immer noch bei Murphys Boxing-Events am Ring zu finden ist und dessen Statue im Bostoner North End steht, wo er immer noch lebt, erhält die längst überfällige Ehre, als in die International Boxing Hall of Fame aufgenommen zu werden 2019 Aufnahme im Juni.


„Murphys Boxing hat mich und meine Familie immer sehr willkommen geheißen.“, erklärt DeMarco.


"Sie haben einen wahren Respekt vor der Geschichte des Boxens". Es ist eine Ehre, nur wenige Monate vor dem Eintritt in die International Boxing Hall of Fame ihre erste Auszeichnung zu erhalten. Ich freue mich auf den Abend.“


Der Beitritt zu DeMarco wird Melroses eigener sein, Mike D’Ampolo, der als einer der erfolgreichsten Amateure gilt, die jemals aus dem Bundesstaat Massachusetts gekommen sind.


D’Ampolo war ein New England Golden Gloves Champion, ein 3x Neuengland AAU-Meister, ein 2x Regionalmeister Ost Regional und nahm an der 1984 Olympic Trialskaum einen Platz auf der Legende verpassen 1984 US-Olympiamannschaft wobei seine Gewichtsklasse letztendlich von niemand anderem repräsentiert wird als Evander Holyfield.


Auf Anraten seines Vaters, D’Ampolo entschied sich, nicht in die Berufswelt einzusteigen und wurde mit seinem Unternehmen ein erfolgreicher Geschäftsmann, M&L Transit Systems mit Sitz in seiner Heimatstadt Melrose, Massachusetts.


“ich bin gedemütigt. Als wir noch kämpften, Amateuren wurde nicht viel Anerkennung oder Anerkennung zuteil.“, sagt D’Ampolo.


„Ich war damals in der Zeitung, aber es ist lange her und ich bin Murphys Boxing sehr dankbar, dass er sich hier in meiner Heimatstadt an mich erinnert und mich ehrt.”


Murphys Boxing Gründer, Ken Casey erklärt die Entscheidung der Promotion, Demarco und D’Ampolo als die ersten beiden Empfänger der Auszeichnung zu benennen, die nach einem der Signature Songs von Dropkick Murphy benannt ist, "The Warrior's Code" ist eine Hommage an einen anderen New England Boxhelden, Micky Ward.


„Die Idee entstand, als Tony DeMarco endlich in die Boxing Hall of Fame aufgenommen wurde. Wir wollten Tony vor seinem großen Tag bei einer unserer lokalen Shows feiern und im Gespräch stellten wir fest, dass es so viele andere pensionierte Kämpfer aus New England gab, sowohl Profis als auch Amateure, die, wie Tony, mehr Anerkennung verdient.“


“Der Warrior’s Code Award ist eine Möglichkeit für uns, diejenigen vor Ort zu ehren, die vor uns gekommen sind und dem Sport, den wir lieben, so viel gegeben haben. März mit der Rückkehr von Stonehams Greg Vendetti (20-3-1, 12 KOs) vs. Manny Woods (16-8-1, 6 KOs) in der 10 runden Main Event sowie eine vollgepackte Undercard von Kämpfern aus Massachusetts, einschließlich:

Murphy Box freut sich, die Rückkehr des Junior-Mittelgewichts-Anwärters und Fan-Favoriten ankündigen zu können, Greg Vendetti (20-3-1, 12 KOs) , die stattfinden wird auf Manny Woods (16-8-1, 6 KOs) am Freitag, 29. März um Gedenkhalle in Melrose, Massachusetts in einer 10 Runden-Kampf.


Ist alt, die im letzten Sommer einen massiven Aufruhr gegen den ehemaligen WM-Herausforderer hingelegt haben,Yoshihiro Kamegai auf ESPN2, fand sich in der Spitze wieder 10 Rangliste und bekam die Chance, gegen Frankreichs Michel Soro für die WBA Interim Super Weltergewicht Meisterschaft im vergangenen Dezember in Paris.


'Der Bösewicht', wer war auf einem unglaublichen 16 Siegesserie kämpfen, scheiterte bei seiner ersten Chance auf einen Titel, will aber in einem harten Kampf gegen den verärgerten Spezialisten vor den Fans seiner Heimatstadt in der Memorial Hall wieder in die Siegerkolonne zurückkehren, Manny Woods.


“Trotz Verlust, 2018 war ein tolles Jahr für mich. Ich habe gekämpft 5 Mal und ich hatte den größten Sieg meiner Karriere als B-Mann gegen Kamegai, der mich in die Top brachte 10. Uns wurde der Soro-Kampf um den Interim-Weltmeistertitel angeboten und obwohl ich das Gefühl hatte, dass mein Körper eine Auszeit brauchte, zu so einer Gelegenheit kann man nicht nein sagen say. Man weiß nie, wann oder ob es wieder kommt.”, erklärt das Stoneham, Eingeborener aus Massachusetts.


“Es war ein hartes Lager. Ich habe zu hart trainiert. Mein Körper fiel auseinander. Was den Kampf angeht, Es war ein hässlicher Knockout, aber das ist Teil des Spiels. Ich bin stolz darauf, wie ich damit umgegangen bin. Keine Schande. Keine Verlegenheit. Ich war nicht davon betroffen. Natürlich war ich nicht glücklich darüber, aber mein erster Gedanke war, was wir tun, um besser zu werden? Der Kampf hat mir gezeigt, dass ich schärfer werden muss. Bleiben Sie weiterhin aggressiv, aber seien Sie schlauer und taktischer dabei. Es war nur eine Schlacht in einem langen Krieg.”


Was den Kampf gegen einen erfahrenen Veteranen wie Woods angeht, der leicht um eine Einstellung hätte bitten können?, Vendetti zeigt die Einstellung, die ihn zu einem solchen Fanliebling gemacht hat.


“Ich mag es zu kämpfen und wollte bei meiner Rückkehr in einen echten Kampf sein. In der ersten Runde einen Schinken und Eier zu schlagen, macht weder mir noch den Fans Spaß. Es ist eine Verschwendung eines Lagers und eine Gewichtsreduzierung, ganz zu schweigen davon, dass du nichts lernst. Holz ist ein langlebiges, legitimer Kerl, der kommt, um zu gewinnen. Das ist was ich brauche und will.”


Und nach dem Gehen 50/50 letztes Jahr gegen Weltklasse-Opposition, wäre Vendetti bereit, ein Top anzunehmen 10 Kämpfer wieder in 2019?


“100%. Ich möchte ein Statement gegen Woods abgeben und mich dann mit jedem Kampf verbessern. Ich möchte mit der Opposition keinen Schritt zurückgehen. Alles nach vorn. Solange ich gesund bin, Ich werde gegen jeden in der Division kämpfen.”


Im Co-Main Event, Stablemate von Murphys Boxing und Fan-Favorit aus Massachusetts, Ryan Kielczweski (29-4, 11 KOs) nimmt es mit einem Gegner auf, der in einem 8 Rundenwettbewerb in der Leichtgewichtsklasse.


„Der polnische Prinz“’ kommt aus seiner Show und stiehlt hin und her Kampf mit Tommy Coyle im TD Garden in Boston im vergangenen Oktober auf der Unterkarte der Demetrius Andrade WBO-Titelkampf im Mittelgewicht.


Trotz Aufhebung der Entscheidung, Kielczweski, wer kommt aus Quincy, Massachusetts, zeigte Weltklasse-Talent und großes Herz in einem totalen Krieg, der das Arena-Publikum auf den Beinen hatte.

Der Sohn eines beliebten professionellen Kämpfers aus der Region Neuengland in den 1990er Jahren, Ohan Jr. trat in die Fußstapfen seines Vaters 82-10 bei den Amateuren und Abholen mehrerer New England Goldene Handschuhe Titel.


Kämpfe ein bemerkenswertes 8 mals 2 Jahre und erhöht das Wettbewerbsniveau bei jedem Ausflug, einschließlich einer einstimmigen Entscheidung über Veteranen, Daniel Sostre in seinem letzten Kampf, Ohan war als Profi auf der Überholspur. HAMPTON, N.H. (Dezember 9, 2017) — Colorful light heavyweight prospect Richard “Popeye der Seemann” Rivera blieb ungeschlagen (5-0, 4 KOs), Veteran Roberto “The Old” Valenzuela, letzter Nacht (Sa.) in der “Rumble at The RIM” Hauptereignis, von Granit Chin Promotions präsentiert, at The RIM Sports Complex in Hampton, New Hampshire.
Rivera, Kampf aus Hartford (CT), controlled the action from the opening bell against his battle-tested opponent from Mexico, who had a tremendous experience advantage in his 147th Profi-Kampf, compared to Rivera’s fifth.
Valenzuela spent most of the time on the ropes, while Rivera teed-off on him, until a beautiful placed left hook by Rivera decked Valenzuela, who failed to get up until after referee Mike Ryan completed the 10-count.
A busload of Rivera’s fans drove five hours from Hartford through a snowstorm, arriving just before Rivera entered the ring. “That means a lot to me,” Rivera smiled as he spoke about his fans. “We’re more than a gym, wir sind Familie.
“I was so used to an amateur style but now I’m a pro. I’m relaxing and picking my punches. Nächster, I want to win the New England title. It’s vacant and I want it!”
“This was our first show in New Hampshire and I consider it a success,” Copromotor Chuck Shearns sagte,, “despite some things going against us like tonight’s weather. We’re grateful for the support we received from Hampton, New Hampshire, the commission and local businesses. They worked with us and we can’t wait to return.”
The son and nephew of multiple-time world kickboxing champions – father Tommy and uncle – worked his corner — Peabody, MA Russell Kimber had a promising pro debut against tough Nathan Schulte in a match contested at a 185-pound catchweight. The 32-year-old Kimber, who was the crowd favorite having lived several years in New Hampshire, overcame the determined Schulte for a hard-fought victory by way of a four-round majority decision.
“I was a little nervous with this being my first time in a pro ring,” Kimber admitted after his fight. “I hadn’t been in a ring for 1 ½ years and there was some ring rust. Jetzt, I know what I need to good, and I’ll be a lot better next fight. This was my first camp and I’ve learned a lot. I’d like to stay busy, come back in late January, early February.”
Undefeated Whitman, MA junior welterweight prospect Mikrofon “Bad Man” JE, Jr.charged across the ring, unloading a powerful right that immediately sent Bardraiel Smith auf die Leinwand. Smith somehow got to his feet but Ohan quickly ended Smith’s night, only 30-second into round one, as referee Ryan waved off the action.
New England cruiserweight champion and the show’s co-promoter, Iraq War veteran Chris Traietti (25-5, 19 KOs) übertroffen Fabian Valdez en route to a win by second-round knockout in a stay-busy fight to close out 2017. In a non-title fight contested at a 185-pounds catchweight, the Quincy, MA-based Traietti floored his game Mexican opponent with a straight right midway through the opening round, closing the show in the second round with a series of unanswered punches.
The only New Hampshire native on the card, Claremont junior middleweight Ricky Ford(1-1-1) won his first pro fight, taking a lop-sided, four-round unanimous decision over pro MMA fighter Andy Aiello, who made his pro boxing debut.

New Jersey middleweight Chris “Sandmann” Thomas (7-0-1, 4 KOs) kept his unbeaten pro record intact with a second-round stoppage of Demetrius Thomas. Thomas used a rapid-fire combination to drop Thomas, who beat the count, but he was getting hammered when referee Ryan stopped the fight late in the second round.

HAMPTON, NH (November 13, 2017) – Granite Chin Promotions invades the Granite State on Samstag, Dezember 9, showcasing some of New England’s top professional boxers on the “Rumble at The Rim” Karte, at The Rim in Hampton, New Hampshire.
A portion of the proceeds will go to Hampton Youth Association.
“We are excited to bring Granite Chin to New Hampshire,” Promoter Chuck Shearns sagte,. “The town of Hampton and its officials have really embraced us. We have teamed up with a great charity, Hampton Youth Association. The state boxing commission has been extremely encouraging and cooperative, was, offen, is not something we are used to and that’s been a breath of fresh air. We’re going to put on a good event and plan to be back more often next year.”
New England cruiserweight champion Chris Traietti (24-4, 19 KOs), fighting out of Quincy (MA), will fight in an eight-round bout to be contested at a 185-pounds catch-weight. A former World Boxing Council United States cruiserweight titlist, Traietti is a college graduate who did one tour of duty in Iraq while serving in the U.S. Air Force.

Entertaining Hartford (CT) light heavyweight prospect Richie “Popeye der Seemann” Rivera (4-0, 3 KOs) will put his undefeated record on the line in a six-round fight.

(April 5, 2017) – Former title challenger Edner Kirsche (36-7-2, 19 KOs) won a competitive decision over Omar Douglas (17-2, 12 PREISE) im Main Event vonPremier Boxing Champions TOE-bis-Fuß DIENSTAGS auf FS1 und Boxing Champions auf FOX Deportes Dienstag night from Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pa.
Cherry came out aggressive from the opening bell, landing a strong left hook and backing up Douglas early and often over the first few rounds. Douglas attempted to control the fight with his jab and movement and had some success moving his head to avoid many of the power punches from Cherry.
Douglas did well as he increased his attack to the body in the middle rounds and continued to move backward to avoid the power punches being thrown by Cherry. The differing styles left the judges with a decision to make in weighing the movement and technique of Douglas versus the aggression of Cherry.
Schließlich, the consistency of Cherry’s attack, who frequently targeted Douglas with combinations to the head, was more effective in the minds of the judges. The final score totals were 98-92 und 96-94 twice for Cherry.
Additional action featured Philadelphia’s Stephen Fulton (11-0, 5 KOs) earning a unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Luis Rosario (8-1-1, 7 KOs) in their eight-round super bantamweight contest.
Rosario was the more aggressive fighter in the early rounds, but it was Fulton who timed his opponent first and built up an early lead with a combination of check hooks and power punches. Fulton was patient against the attack-minded Rosario and was able to counter effectively while avoiding Rosario’s power punches.
Fulton continued to have success in the middle rounds as Rosario’s attack slowed, but the Puerto Rican fighter came out with an increased level of aggression in round seven and tagged Fulton during several exciting exchanges.
Despite the increasing pressure, Fulton was able to stay composed and fend off Rosario over the final two rounds on his way to winning a unanimous decision by scores of 78-74, 79-73 und 80-72.
The opening bout of the telecast saw Bethlehem’s Frank DeAlba (22-2-2, 9 KOs) score a unanimous decision over Ryan Kielczweski (26-3, 8 KOs) in einem Acht-Runde Superfedergewicht Kampf.
The hometown fighter got off to a slow start as Kielczweski appeared to control the early rounds using his movement and tagging the southpaw with right hands. DeAlba began to work on the inside of his opponent and found more success starting in the fourth round.
Once he had closed the distance, DeAlba began to land hooks to the head and smothered much of Kielczweski’s offense. With an increased emphasis on body-punching in the late rounds, DeAlba turned the tide of the fight in the judges’ minds and earned a unanimous decision by scores of 77-75 zweimal und 80-72.

“I knew he would try to drop combinations on me, but I worked my jab and moved so I would not be in a straight line for his left hand.”

“Fulton is a good boxer. He did not want to fight man-to-man, but he moved well. He was shying away from exchanging with me.
“I thought it was a close fight that could have gone either way. I blocked a lot of his punches with my gloves.”

Nelson of Philadelphia has a record of 13-2 mit einem KO-.

Cherry of Wauchula, Florida has had a smooth camp while training in the Sunshine State and is ready for the 46th start of his professional start.
“Alles ist gut, and we will be prepared for everything on 4. April,” said the 34-year-old Cherry.
“Auf 4. April, whatever Douglas brings, we will be prepared for. This is not the first time, that I’ve been in this position. He is the guy who has to prove he can perform. I have been there before, so the pressure is on him.”
Cherry has been a top contender at both the 130 und 135 Pfund Divisionen, and he even challenged for a world title at 140 Pfund. He believes there are many reasons that he has remained a viable contender who has only lost once in the last nine years and 13 Kämpfe.

Douglas believes that a win over Cherry is his path to a world title.
“I think that it is time. I just happen to be crossing paths with Cherry. This fight makes sense for me. I will let people know that I am player at 130 Pfund, and a win will earn me a title shot. I have shown that I will fight anyone. Look at the records of my previous opponents. Fortuna was 30-1 and one fight removed from being a world champion. Alexei Collado was 19-1; Frank De Alba was 17-1. So wins over those guys plus Cherry should have me right there, but I am focusing on Edner Cherry. He is a great veteran, aber doch am Dienstag night I will be victorious.”

His last win came over German Meraz in February and he will be fighting for the fourth time at Sands Bethlehem on April 4.
