RICKY DEXTER RETURNS TO CAGE AGAINST RUBEN REDMAN IN BANGOR

Bangor, Maine (Dezember 11, 2018) - New England Fights (NEF) will hold its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 37: Sub Zero,” am Freitag, Februar 1, 2019 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. Bereits heute Morgen, the promotion announced the addition of a professional welterweight fight to the card. Ricky Dexter (1-0) soll gegen Ruben Redman (0-2) bei einem Kampf Gewicht von 170 Pfund-.

Ricky Dexter will return to the NEF cage after a two-year absence. It was in February of 2017 that Dexter made his professional debut, knocking out Matt Denning (5-8) in the first round with a brutal body shot at “NEF 27.”  It was the perfect exclamation mark to start his professional career after a stellar amateur run that saw Dexter amass a record of 5-2 and capture the NEF Amateur Welterweight Title. He is currently a member of Young’s MMA based in Bangor, and he looks forward to fighting for the first time in front of his home crowd.

“I’m absolutely ecstatic to be finally fighting on my home turf,” Said Dexter. “I’m getting pushed by some of the best fighters in New England every day. Hinzu kommt, dass, I’ve got a MMA mastermind in my corner, Chris Young, who’s sharpening my technique and working out the kinks. Come February 1st, you will see a completely different and evolved fighter.”

Ruben Redman will likewise return to the NEF cage after an extended absence. Redman last competed in August 2016 in Bangor. He will be looking for his first victory as a professional. Redman’s last win came in his amateur days when he scored a technical knockout in the first round against Heath Hanson (1-3) bei “NEF 13” im Juni 2015.

“I’m healthy and ready for a great fight—that’s all I can say,” stated Redman. “The rest will be determined when the cage door locks.”

After a successful amateur career that saw him claim the NEF MMA Amateur Welterweight Title, Ricky Dexter made his pro debut last month at “NEF 27.” He was able to drop Matt Denning in the first round with a vicious body shot that had thousands in the Colisee cringing. Die Bangor, Maine native will make his first appearance as a member of Young’s MMA at “NEF 28,” having previously fought under the banner of Team Irish.

“Keenan Raymond is coming to my home turf, and I’m going to show him how tough we are up North,” Said Dexter. “I’m new to the pro ranks, but I’ve got the work ethic of a seasoned vet. I’ve got the strength of a middle weight and the cardio like the Diaz brothers and I’m always looking for the finish. Hungry for April 29th!”

Representing Southern New England will be Providence, Rhode Island’s Keenan Raymond. A longtime competitor on the New England MMA scene, Raymond will look to work off some cage rust as he has not fought since January 2016. He is by no means a one-dimensional fighter. Raymond has displayed a solid foundation in both striking and mat work throughout his career with finishes coming by way of knockout as well as submission. He currently trains at Ricardo Cavalcanti Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mayo Quanchi Judo and Wrestling.

“I’m sure Ricky’s a game opponent, but I can promise he’s never faced a force like me,” said Raymond. “I’m healthy and my versatility will finish this fight one way or another.”

ZUR SOFORTIGEN VERÖFFENTLICHUNG: Lewiston, Maine (Februar 11, 2017) – A nor’easter 48 hours earlier, sub-zero temperatures, heavy snowfall at bell-time, and a blizzard looming on the horizon could not stop more than 2,500 devoted fight fans from getting their fill of mixed-martial-arts action at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Saturday night. The event marked fight promotion New England Fights’ (NEF) five-year anniversary at the venerable fight arena.

The show was headlined by the semi-finals of the NEF Professional MMA Lightweight Title tournament. Jon Lemke (6-7) advanced to the finals with a first round technical knockout of Jesse Erickson (9-6). Ryan Sanders (13-8) joined Lemke in the final round with a first-round knockout of John Ortolani (8-11).

Ras Hylton (1-0) was victorious in his professional debut over Mike Hansen (5-5), while former NEF Amateur MMA Welterweight Champion Ricky Dexter (1-0) also entered the pro ranks with a verbal submission win over Matt Denning (3-6) after a brutal body shot.

On the amateur portion of the fight card, Victor Irwin (3-0) became the new light-heavyweight champion with a submission of Ryan Glover (3-2).

NEF further announced that its next MMA event, “NEF 28: UNBESIEGBAR,” would originate from the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Samstag, April 29, 2017.

ZUR SOFORTIGEN VERÖFFENTLICHUNG: Lewiston, Maine (Januar 6, 2017) -Neu England Fights (NEF) kehrt zum Androscoggin Bank Colisee zurück Februar 11, 2017 with its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 27: RESURGENCE.” Bereits heute Morgen, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional catchweight fight to the card. Matt “Ken-Puppe” Denning (3-5) soll gegen Ricky Dexter (0-0) at a weight of 160-pounds.

 

Denning is fresh off an appearance for World Series of Fighting (WSOF) at Madison Square Garden in New York City this past New Year’s Eve. All of Denning’s previous professional bouts had been for NEF. The Lewiston resident is looking to break a string of three losses after submitting Derek Shorey (4-8) last spring at “NEF 23” in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Denning is a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

 

“I’m coming back to NEF to make a statement,” said Denning emphatically. “I’m coming off of a couple of losses in a row and I’m coming to get that win. They think I’m all Jiu Jitsu and can’t take a punch. You want to brawl with me? Let’s stand toe-to-toe. You’re going to try and lay on me like you did in your amateur career? I’m going to welcome Dexter to the pros in a mean way. It’s a new level here and I’m going to come out on top!’

 

Ricky Dexter will vacate the NEF Amateur Welterweight Title to turn professional and face Denning on Februar 11. Dexter won that championship last February with a first-round technical knockout of Caleb Farrington (3-1). Als Amateur, Dexter put together a very impressive record of 5-2 with all five of his wins coming by finish. Dexter represents Team Irish in Brewer, Maine.

 

“Once Matt Denning feels my power and the inability to take me down, he’s going to be looking for a way out like he always does, except I’m not looking for the sub,” Said Dexter. “February 11th, I’m going to show the NEF fans that Matt Denning is in the fight game for the wrong reasons. I’m coming from the ‘ammo league,’ but I’ve been training with killers my whole career. I’m going to show everyone I belong here.”

DEXTER GETS zweite Chance, Gold in einer neuen Gewichtsklassensieg

Lewiston, Maine (August 19, 2015) - New England Fights (NEF), Amerikas Nummer eins regionalen Kampf Förderung, wird seine neunzehnten mixed-Martial-Arts halten (MMA) Ereignis, “NEF XIX: HEIMKEHR,” am Samstag, September 12, 2015 an der Androscoggin Banküber Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. In dieser Nacht, Team des irischen Ricky Dexter (3-1) wird voraussichtlich zu treffen CJ Ewer (3-2) in an NEF MMA Amateur Welterweight Title eliminator. “Ricky Dexter seems like a really tough fighter,” sagte Ewer. “You can’t judge him on his last fight because Josh Harvey is elite – he’s the next Ray Wood. I feel like this will be a great match up.”

Bereits heute Morgen, the promotion announced that the first NEF MMA Amateur Lightweight Champion will be crowned that evening when undefeated Ricky Dexter (3-0), representing Marcus Davis’ Team Irish, dauert an Josh Harvey (3-1) of cross-town rival Young’s MMA. The bout will be contested at the lightweight limit of 155-pounds.

 

Dexter and Harvey are regarded as two of the top prospects currently on the NEF MMA roster. Both athletes are undefeated in the promotion’s cage. Auf Juni 13, they will carry on a rivalry that has raged in NEF between the Young’s MMA and Team Irish gyms for several years.

Dexter, currently the top-nine-ranked amateur lightweight in New England, is coming off a first-round submission victory over Zenon Herrera (3-6) last Saturday at “NEF XVII.” Dexter has taken the promotion’s lightweight division by storm since debuting last November. He has stopped all three of his opponents in the first round to earn his shot at becoming the first NEF MMA Amateur Lightweight Champion.

 

“I’m honored to be fighting for the NEF Lightweight Amateur Title,” stated Dexter. “To me there’s a lot more on the line than just a belt. Auf 13. Juni you better believe I’m bringing it.”

 

When fans last saw Josh Harvey in the NEF cage, he had his arm raised in victory after mauling Caleb Hall (5-2) in the amateur opener of “NEF XVI” im vergangenen Februar.
