Ovaj tjedan na FNU Combat Sports Showu, we discuss the latest news in MMA and boxing, recap the past week’s events and preview the upcoming events this week. We also discuss Walter “2 Guns” Wright winning his main event fight against Mark DeLuca a couple days after we interviewed him last week. Wright’s split decision win came in part due to a persistent jab that frustrated DeLuca and left him bloodied, bruised and exhausted by the final bell. Of course bringing up this fact gets us all going on the absolute necessity of the jab in any combat sports fighter’s toolbox.

Among the news we touch on:

The rumors about Manny Pacquiao’s next fight with Lucas Matthysse being in jeopardy, Manny and his team say everything is on track.

Johny “Big Rig” Hendricks retires (also forgot to mention Rashad Evans retired as well).

 

The latest cast for The Contender Series, set to return this August featuring 16 up and coming young boxers in the 160-pound division.

 

Lyoto Machida’s defection from the UFC to Bellator and Bellator’s blockbuster deal with DAZN, a streaming service working to take over new markets this year, including the US and Italy.

(see poster below) This week we caught up with Walter before he made the trip east from Seattle. We interviewed him about the big fight and discussed his career in general. We also recapped all of last week’s boxing and MMA events and provided some other news tidbits like the Creed II trailer release and Ronda Rousey’s 30-day suspension from the WWE. Rezimiramo najznačajnije prošlotjedne borbe, počevši od prvog sankcioniranog bokserskog događaja u bareknuckleu u stotinama godina. Također razbijamo najnoviju UFC Fight Night karticu gdje je Jimmie Rivera doživio prvi poraz u svom posljednjem 21 borbe. Raspravljamo o tiradi Dana White protiv boraca koji ne sudjeluju u borbama koje kompanija želi, i miniramo Canela Alvareza i njegov tim jer su uništili sve šanse za još jednu borbu s GGG-om. Uzimamo dobar dio emisije da bismo prikazali i analizirali sve razne boksačke mečeve koji se održavaju ove subote, od povratka Tysona Furyja u ring protiv Sefera Seferija do bitke od kilograma za najbolje funte i neporaženih velteraša Jeremyja Horna i Terrencea Crawforda u borbi na ESPN + (koju žestoko kritiziramo). Započinjemo s ESPN / UFC ugovorom o pravima emitiranja na pet godina, 30 borbene karte i $1.5 milijarde. Također raspravljamo o međusobnim sukobima između boksačkih promotora u posljednje vrijeme i s Bobom Arumom i s britanskim Eddiejem Hearnom, koji se trudi da potpiše slobodne agente, pokušavajući popuniti mjesta za predviđene emisije u Sjedinjenim Državama tijekom sljedeće godine. Ovonedeljna borbena vijest neograničena borbena sportska emisija izvrstan je spoj boksa i mješovitih borilačkih vještina. Mužjak nekih malih životinja, Tony i Rich pokrivaju svu akciju od prošlog vikenda i čude se majstoru svog zanata koji je Vasyl Lomachenko. Razgovaramo o Chucku Liddellu koji izlazi iz mirovine sa Golden Boy MMA-om, i Tito Ortiz smatrajući debatu svojim prvim protivnikom. We also look ahead to Ryan Bader vs. King Mo Lawal in the Bellator Heavyweight Tournament. Dodatno, Raquel Pennington takes on Amanda Nunes at UFC 224, and Pennington will likely have to win by knockout to get the belt in the Brazilian backyard of Nunes. We also chat about the week’s major news stories in combat sports, namely Chuck Liddell wanting a rematch with Tito Ortiz and Oscar De La Hoya promising to promote the fight in a new MMA venture for the boxing legend and promotional kingpin. Nedavno, after our broadcast Thursday night, Tito and Chuck moved much closer to that trilogy fight with Tito announcing he is coming out of retirement for the bout.
