World ranked Yenifel Vicente comes out in defense of Latinos for derogatory comments by father / trainer of champion Isaac Dogboe

Santo Domingo, República Dominicana – Renowned Dominican boxer Yenifel ‘El Rayo’ Vicente (31-3-2, 23 Nocáuts) has been aware of the expressions made by Paul Dogboe, father and trainer of the Interim World Boxing Organization champion (OMB) 122 libra, Isaac Dogboe (18-0, 12 Nocáuts), who is scheduled to face WBO world champion, Mexican American, Jessie Magdaleno (25-0, 18 Nocáuts), en Abril 28 en Filadelfia .

Vicente has won six consecutive bouts, including the PBC’s Knockout of the Year, a three-round knockout over the undefeated favorite, Juan ‘Baby Tito’ Domínguez.

Vicente’s manager, Raúl Patrana, President of the ‘Spartan Boxing Club’, is willing to help with the fight.

“If Dogboe wins, we are willing to make the necessary arrangements so that Dogboe’s first defense can be against Vicente who is ranked 12th in the WBO and of course in the best coliseum available in Ghana. We wish the best of luck to Magdaleno. Al final, we hope both fighters make a good fight for the fans and leave healthy after that”.

FILADELFIA – After ten years of celebrating the biggest and best achievements of the Philadelphia-area boxing scene, the Briscoe Awards will change the timing of their annual event, from October to March.
“For a few years now, I’ve considered moving the awards up to the first part of the year,” said John DiSanto, founder of the Briscoe Awards. “The original Fall time slot caused a lot of confusion, because by the time we gave out the awards, the fights were old news. Moving to March will allow us to give out the awards shortly after the fight year ends. I’m a little nervous about making a change, but in the long run, the move will only make the Briscoe Awards better.”
The Briscoe Awards honor the key fights and fighters of the Philly area every year. A total of eleven awards will be give out ESTE SUNDAY MARCH 25TH AT 1 PM ET, which includes prizes for the “Lucha de Filadelfia del año”, la “Lucha de Filadelfia del año”, la “Knockout del Año”, “Amateur del Año”, “Novato del Año”, “Prospecto del Año”, “Performance of the Year”, “Photo of the Year”, y más.

BRUNSON SETS RECORD WITH THREE BRISCOE AWARDS

FILADELFIA – PA State junior middleweight champion Tyrone Brunson will be honored with three Briscoe Awards for the eventful year he had in 2017. During the year, Brunson’s efforts won him three bouts, two belts, and kept his career on track for a big fight in 2018. SPARROW BREAKS THROUGH WITH TWO BRISCOE AWARDS

FILADELFIA – Rising Philadelphia boxing star, Avery Gorrión, really made a career breakthrough in 2017. The junior lightweight won four bouts during the year, including two main events, and two national TV appearances. He started 2017 as a promising young local, but by the end of the year, Sparrow had broken into the world rankings.

FILADELFIA, PENN./ORANGE, California. (Febrero. 19, 2017)- Heralded prospect Ruben Villa (10-0, 4 KOs) de Salinas, California. made it ten straight wins to start his career by outpointing veteran Juan Sandoval (15-18, 5 KOs) de México. Puntuaciones: 59-55, 60-54 dos veces.
