Birthday Boy Petr Petrov finishing up training camp in Madrid, Spanien

Madrid Spain (Mars 28, 2017)–WBO Lightweight world title challenger Petr Petrov arrived in his hometown of Madrid, Spain to finish up preparations for his April 8th world title bout with undefeated world champion Terry Flanagan at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Petrov arrived Söndag, and has been hard at work with head trainer Danny Zamora. To prove that Petrov is clearly only focused on winning this world title,, he put in two hard workout’s på tisdag, which just happens to be his 34th birthday.
“I am so focused and I can’t wait for this fight,” Said Petrov. “There is no time for parties and cake now. That will come after the fight, as I will have plenty of reasons to celebrate, one would be my birthday and the other will be for winning the world championship.”
Petrov will continue to train in his homeland until he leaves for Manchester early next week. Petrov finished up the California leg of his training camp this past Fredag before leaving for Madrid.

Indio, SÅSOM (Oktober 3, 2016) – Petr Petrov (38-4-2, 19 KO: s) earned a mandatory world title shot at the WBA Lightweight title with a stoppage after 6 rounds over Michael Perez in a scheduled 12 round bout at the Fantasy Springs Casino Resort in Indio, Kalifornien.
In round 2, Perez was bloodied over his right eye, and Petrov was cut on his forehead. Later in the round, Petrov dropped Perez with a hard right to the head. Petrov continued the assault as he battered and hurt Perez with evenly dispersed punches to the head and body. As the blood continued over Perez’s right eye, Petrov never let up.

Slutligen, trainer Robert Garcia decided his fighter had enough and stopped the fight after the 6th round.

“I just want to thank everybody who made this win possible. My wife Carolina, My family back home in Spain and Russia. This victory is what I have been working for to be so close to a world title shot. This was one of the best training camps I have had, and I want to thank my trainer/ manager Danny Zamora and my strength and conditioning coach Jerry Arias,” Said Petrov. “Mike Perez is a true warrior, and he came to fight, and it was great fight. All I want to do is go home to Spain get some rest and wait for the phone call from my promoter to let me know when I will be fighting for the world title.”

I hans sista 6 bouts the combined record of his opponents is 135-24-5. Now we will look to make the WBA world title bout as quickly as possible.”

LOS ANGELES (September 21, 2016) – NABA Lightweight champion Peter “Zar” Petrov (37-4-2, 18 KO: s) of Ryazan, Russia and WBA Number 3 rated Lightweight contender, Michael “The Artist” Perez (24-1-2, 11 Kos) Newark, N.J. hosted a media workout in Los Angeles today, ahead of their battle for the WBA Lightweight World Title Eliminator on September 30 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and broadcast live nationally on Estrella TV’s Boxeo Estelar. Also in attendance were televised fighters Alexis Rocha (4-0, 3 Kos) av Santa Ana, Calif. and co-main event, Genaro “El Conde” Gamez (2-0, 2 Kos) San Diego. East Los Angeles’ Jonathan “Åska” Navarro (6-0, 5 Kos) who is scheduled for a six-round super lightweight fight against Larry Carrillo (5-1, 2 Kos) av Houston, Texas was also onsite.

Philadelphia, PA / Orange, SÅSOM. (Juli 26, 2016)–Banner Kampanjer och Thompson Boxing Promotions are pleased to announce the signing of amateur standout Ruben Villato a co-promotional contract.
Den 19 year-old Villa of Salinas, California compiled an outstanding record of 166-17 in the unpaid ranks that included two National Junior Golden Gloves titles and two National Golden Gloves championships at 123 pounds.
Ruben did not make the U.S. Olympic team due to his struggles to make 123 pounds in the Olympic Trials. He will campaign as a professional in the featherweight division (126 Ibs).
“Jag är upphetsad, and I have been working very hard to get to this point. I cannot wait to turn professional,” sa Villa.
“It is very cool to sign with two great promoters. We were offered the opportunity, and we took it.”
“As for the Olympic trials I was disappointed, yet happy at the same time. I was happy to make it that far, and now I am ready for the next phase of my career.”
Villa began boxing at the age of five when his family, who were big boxing fans, took young Ruben to the gym.
That spawned his amateur career, which saw him reach the number-1 national ranking at 123 pounds and saw him defeat eventual United States Olympian Shakur Stevenson.
“He is a good fighter, and I hope he wins a medal and at some point we can break the tie in our fights against each other. I see that as a big fight down the line in the pros.”
Villa defeated Stevenson in the National Golden Gloves and Olympic Trials.
The 5’6″ Villa is managed and trained by Danny Zamora. Zamora performs the same roles with world-ranked NABA, NABO, NABF and Boxicino 2014 lightweight champion Petr Petrov.
Villa describes his style as a boxer who uses angles and does not get hit much.
“My boxing influences are a bit of Vasyl Lomachenko and Canelo Alavrez.”
Ruben’s family and friends are not only a big part of his life, but also part of his success.
“My parents started me in boxing, and they have been extremely supportive in this. I also have 4 systrar (Ruben is the 2nd oldest of the 5 barn), and they are very supportive as well. “
Villa has sparred with Petrov, Bruno Escalante and Manuel Avilla, and that has given him a good gage on where he is at as he embarks on his career.
“I do well with those guys. I can hold my own, and those guys are great professionals. It gives me confidence as I start out.”

Santa Fe Springs, SÅSOM–NABA Lightweight champion Petr Petrov (36-4-2, 17 KO: s) has been training hard for his big showdown with NABF Lightweight champion Marvin Quintero (28-6, 24 KO: s) that will take place on Fredag, Maj 6 vid Den Toshiba Plaza, adjacent to the state-of-the-art T-Mobile Arena. The Toshiba Plaza är located on the Las Vegas Strip between New York-New York and Monte Carlo.

Petrov took time out from his busy training schedule at the Santa Springs Boxing Club in Sante Fe, California to provide the following comments as he gets ready for this big opportunity:

Los Angeles, SÅSOM–Noted boxing manager Danny Zamora is proud to announce the signing of featherweight prospect Ruben Villa IV and undefeated Super Bantamweight Jhordy Ramirez to exclusive managerial contracts.
Villa of Salinas, California placed 2nd at the 2015 United States Olympic Trials which culminated an outstanding career which saw him accumulate a record of 165-17.
Villa also was the 2014 & 2015 National Golden Gloves champion as well as the 2012 & 2013 Olympic Junior National Champion.

Under hela tio runt kamp, Petrov använde överlägsen hand hastighet för att tagga den långsammare Diaz. Han gjorde en knockdown i den sjunde omgången, och från den punkten och framåt, Petrov kontrollerade kampen med sin exakta jab och snål försvar.
“Diaz var en bra motståndare,” sade 32-årige Petrov. “Han var erfaren och visste hur man får ut av fara. Han vet hur man håller och bromsa en kamp, men efter en tio månaders friställa, Jag kan säga att vi är tillbaka. Jag är redo för en värld titel skott. Det är mitt mål.”

I co-main event, 2012 Olympiska bronsmedaljören Taras Sjelestiuk (12-0, 8 Kos) förblev undefeated mot Juan Rodriguez (12-2, 5 Kos). Shelestyuk battled through a nasty cut over his right eye caused by an accidental clash of heads in the fourth round.

“Rodriguez är en tuff southpaw,” Said Shelestyuk, som är sam-främjas av Thompson boxning och Banner kampanjer. “Det var andra gången i min karriär som jag har skurits. Det var tufft att se med allt blod, men snittet fick mig att fokusera mer eftersom jag trodde att läkare kan stoppa kampen, och jag ville inte att. Jag ville visa min förmåga och jag gjorde genom att vinna med bred marginal.”

Öppningen bout mellan junior welterweights Emanuel Robles (13-0-1, 3 Kos) San Diego och Wilberth Lopez (5-5, 1 KO) Tucson, Ariz. var en underhållande, fram-och-tillbaka-affären. Robles hoppade ut till en tidig ledning, men Lopez kom starkt mot slutet. Robles gjorde ett enhälligt beslut vinna med poäng 58-56, 59-55, två gånger.

“Det var en stor kamp,” Robles sa. “Han kom redo att slåss. Jag är glad att jag kunde sätta på en bra show. Jag tröttnade mot slutet, men jag ska komma tillbaka i gymmet och få bättre.”

I andra bouts, weltervikt Darius Ervin (1-0) Indio, Calif. spårat sin första professionella seger mot Isaac Freeman (1-1, 1 KO) Los Angeles. Beslutsmajoritets poäng läst: 39-37, 40-36, och 38-38.

Junior lättvikts Michael Norato (1-0, 1 KO) började sin professionella karriär i elektrifierande sätt genom att slå ut Sopuan Rin (1-2-1) vid 2:14 markera av den andra omgången. Norato satte Rin på ryggen tre gånger i den andra omgången, vilket rörs publiken in i en frenesi.

“Det är ett bra sätt att börja min karriär,” Norato sa. “Jag kan inte vänta på min nästa kamp.”

Super bantamvikt Humberto Rubalcava (1-0, 1 KO) närliggande Riverside, hade en minnesvärd pro debut genom att slå ut Christian Lorenzo (2-3, 1 KO) Los Angeles i den andra omgången med en kraftfull rätt krok som nästan skickade Lorenzo igenom repen.

“Detta är vad boxning handlar om,” Rubalcava sa. “Jag gav fansen vad de ville se.”

Los Angeles, SÅSOM (Mars 31, 2015)– Undefeated weltervikt Taras “Real Deal” Shelestyuk (11-0, 8 KO: s) gör sig redo för sin 3 april nationella TV-debut när han tar på Juan Rodriguez Jr. i co-funktionen i en ESPN Friday Night Fights kort i Corona, Kalifornien.

Kortet främjas av Thompson boxning och Banner kampanjer.
I main event, Petr Petrov försvarar sin Naba & Nabo lätt titel när han tar på förre världsmästaren Gamaliel Diaz.
Shelestyuk, som var en 2012 Bronsmedalj vinnare i London OS, har tränat på Wild Card Gym med Hall of Fame tränare Freddie Roach och Marvin Somodio och ser fram emot denna stora möjlighet att visa sina talanger framför en rikstäckande publik.

“Juan Rodriquez är en bra fighter, Men jag ska visa vad jag gjort av den 3 april,” Said Shelestyuk.
“Jag kan slåss och anpassa sig till alla motståndare under kampen och kommer att göra allt för att vinna. I have been waiting a very long time to fight on national television and now it’s here” fortsatte den mångsidiga Shelestyuk.

 

Även på kortet, obesegrad weltervikt utsikter Sukhrab Shidaev(12-0, 7 Kos) Hollywood, Calif. kommer att kämpa en motståndare att namnges senare (6-rundor).

Tidigare colombianska Olympian och obesegrad lätta Cesar Villarraga(6-0, 4 Kos) ser att stanna obesegrad mot Victor Serrano (3-8-1, 1 KO) i en 6-round lätt match.

Göra sin professionella debut är junior lätt Michael Norato vänd karl nybörjare Också Sopuan (1-1-1) av Pomona, Calif. i en kamp planerad till 4-rundor.

Humberto Rubalcava kommer också steg inuti kvadraten cirkeln för första gången som en professionell. Rubalcava, en super bantamvikt från Riverside, Calif., kommer att mötaChristian Lorenzo (2-2, 1 KO).
