Ruben Villa Returns to Action Aug. 24 from Omega Products in Corona, SÅSOM

Philadelphia, Penn.. Orange, som. (Augusti. 14, 2018) – Ruben Villa (12-0, 5 Kos), one of the rising talents in the featherweight division, takes to the ring for the fourth time this year on Fredag, Augusti. 24 från Omega Products International in Corona, Calif.

 

 

 

The southpaw from Salinas, Calif. battles well tested veteran Jose Santos Gonzalez (23-6, 13 Kos) of Mexico in the “Locked n’ Loaded” 8-round main event.

 

 

 

Villa, 21, has fought veterans before, specifically Ernesto Guerrero and German Meraz. The seasoned Gonzalez poses a threat in the sense that he’s been in the ring against current bantamweight title holder Zolani Tete, and unbeaten contender Duke Micah.

 

 

 

“These are the types of fights that help you grow into a better fighter,” sa Villa, som hanteras av Danny Zamora. “We have a smart game plan in place. I’m naturally bigger than him so we’ll use that to our advantage.”

 

 

 

Villa, a two-time national Golden Gloves champion, is coming off an impressive sixth round knockout of Ricardo Lopez in June. The talented featherweight showed off his finishing ability by out boxing Lopez until the knockout moment presented itself.

FILADELFIA, Penn. / ORANGE, Calif. (Juni 26, 2018) – Oslagbar fjädervikt utmärkta Ruben Villa (11-0, 4 Kos) av Salinas, Calif spelar i huvudtävlingen i lördags när han möter Mexikos Ricardo Lopez (7-2-2, 6 Kos) i en åtta omgångsslag som markerar hans tredje start på året.

 

 

 

Kampen äger rum denna lördag, Juni 30, från Omega Products International i Sacramento.

 

 

 

Den snygga Southpaw försvarar sin WBO Youth-titel som han vann i april i sin hemstad. Villa utpekade Marlon Olea grundligt för sitt första mästerskap som professionell.

MICHAEL DUTCHOVER REMAINS UNDEFEATED WITH A 3RD ROUND STOPPAGE OVER MIKE FOWLER

FILADELFIA, Penn. / ORANGE, Calif. (Maj 14, 2018) – Top junior lightweight prospect Michael Dutchover (9-0, 6 Kos) av Midland, Tex. continues to improve on his advanced skill set. He knocked out Mike Fowler (6-15, 2 Kos) i den tredje omgången (1:19) after landing consecutive body shots that sapped the air out of Fowler’s lungs.

 

 

 

The fight took place this past Friday night at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Kalifornien.

 

 

 

Dutchover proved his talent early by connecting with body shots in the second round that floored the shorter Fowler. Dutchover, 20, rarely got hit and displayed superior hand speed and excellent instincts.

 

 

 

“I wanted to start fast and not have to go the full six rounds,” sa Dutchover, who was an outstanding cross country runner in high school. “I figured him out pretty quickly. He wasn’t covering up well and I took advantage.”

 

 

 

Dutchover is trained and managed by Danny Zamora and promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing.

Ruben Villa Receives Local Award for Community Building Efforts

ORANGE, Calif. (Augusti. 10, 2017) – Ruben Villa (7-0, 4 Kos), one of boxing’s brightest, young talents in the featherweight division, recently received an award for his community building presence in his hometown of Salinas, Calif.
The Monterey County Board of Supervisors recognized Team Villa Boxing, a non-profit gym, for creating a safe space for low-income youths in East Salinas. Through grants, Team Villa Boxing offers free boxing and physical fitness lessons to select youths.
“I was really surprised that we were honored with the award because we only found out about it the day before,” Villa said. “We are obviously very happy about it, but we don’t do it for the recognition. It’s all about helping the community. There’s not much opportunity out here so we have to give the kids additional chances to succeed.”
“Ruben cares about his community and wants to be a positive role model to the local kids,” said Danny Zamora, Villa’s manager. “The gym offers a safe and productive outlet for young kids and keeps them from getting into trouble.”
For those that are unaware, Salinas has an ongoing struggle with drug related gang violence. The Villa family, in an effort to pull local kids away from a life of crime, formed the gym three years ago. When not conducting training camps in Riverside, Calif., Villa stays sharp at the gym that bears his name.
Villa received the honor as part of the “National Night Out” event hosted by the City of Salinas.
The public awareness event, which drew thousands to the Salinas Soccer Complex, aimed to strengthen community relations with law enforcement and other public safety personnel such as firefighters and first responders.
Villa marks his return to the ring on a Thompson Boxing card Fredag, Sju. 22 from the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif. An opponent will be announced at a later date.

Michael Dutchover signs with Ken Thompson

Philadelphia, Penn. /Orange, Calif. (Oktober. 28, 2016) – Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing are proud to announce the signing of elite amateur Michael Dutchover (1-0, 1 Kos) out of Midland, Tex.

Dutchover, 18, will campaign as a junior lightweight. The Texas native won numerous regional tournaments as an amateur and was a runner up at this year’s National Golden Gloves competition in the 132-pound division. He enters the professional ranks well prepared having gone 130-17 in the unpaid arena.

“I felt an overwhelming amount of joy when I was signing my contract,” sa Dutchover, som tränas och hanteras av Danny Zamora. “I’ve been doing this since I was eight years old. This is just the beginning. I’m going to work hard to become a world champion. That’s all I want.”

Dutchover appeared on the most recent Thompson Boxing card last Friday, Oktober. 21. Dutchover started his career with a third round knockout over Cesar Partida.

He worked off an effective jab that allowed him to land crisp power shots. In the third, he connected on a crushing combination that resulted in the fight’s only knockdown. Partida survived the round, but was not allowed to come out for the fourth and final round.

“Partida was a tough opponent,” sa Dutchover efter striden. “He took a lot of quality punches. I was able to drop him in the third and I knew he was hurt. It feels great to start my career with a knockout win.”

Philadelphia, PA / Orange, SÅSOM. (Juli 26, 2016)–Banner Kampanjer och Thompson Boxing Promotions are pleased to announce the signing of amateur standout Ruben Villato a co-promotional contract.
Den 19 year-old Villa of Salinas, California compiled an outstanding record of 166-17 in the unpaid ranks that included two National Junior Golden Gloves titles and two National Golden Gloves championships at 123 pounds.
Ruben did not make the U.S. Olympic team due to his struggles to make 123 pounds in the Olympic Trials. He will campaign as a professional in the featherweight division (126 Ibs).
“Jag är upphetsad, and I have been working very hard to get to this point. I cannot wait to turn professional,” sa Villa.
“It is very cool to sign with two great promoters. We were offered the opportunity, and we took it.”
“As for the Olympic trials I was disappointed, yet happy at the same time. I was happy to make it that far, and now I am ready for the next phase of my career.”
Villa began boxing at the age of five when his family, who were big boxing fans, took young Ruben to the gym.
That spawned his amateur career, which saw him reach the number-1 national ranking at 123 pounds and saw him defeat eventual United States Olympian Shakur Stevenson.
“He is a good fighter, and I hope he wins a medal and at some point we can break the tie in our fights against each other. I see that as a big fight down the line in the pros.”
Villa defeated Stevenson in the National Golden Gloves and Olympic Trials.
The 5’6″ Villa is managed and trained by Danny Zamora. Zamora performs the same roles with world-ranked NABA, NABO, NABF and Boxicino 2014 lightweight champion Petr Petrov.
Villa describes his style as a boxer who uses angles and does not get hit much.
“My boxing influences are a bit of Vasyl Lomachenko and Canelo Alavrez.”
Ruben’s family and friends are not only a big part of his life, but also part of his success.
“My parents started me in boxing, and they have been extremely supportive in this. I also have 4 systrar (Ruben is the 2nd oldest of the 5 barn), and they are very supportive as well. “
Villa has sparred with Petrov, Bruno Escalante and Manuel Avilla, and that has given him a good gage on where he is at as he embarks on his career.
“I do well with those guys. I can hold my own, and those guys are great professionals. It gives me confidence as I start out.”

Villa of Salinas, California placed 2nd at the 2015 United States Olympic Trials which culminated an outstanding career which saw him accumulate a record of 165-17.
Villa also was the 2014 & 2015 National Golden Gloves champion as well as the 2012 & 2013 Olympic Junior National Champion.

Ramirez of Santa Maria, Kalifornien har ett register över 2-0 med en knockout, also was a distinguished amateur as he went 71-16 and won Won Desert Show Tournament in 2008, Oxnard Pal Adidas Tournament in 2009, 2010 och 2011 as well as the BCR Belt at Fantasy Springs 2014 och 2015.
He turned professional on November 20, 2015 with a first round stoppage over Joel Cano. Den 20 year-old Ramirez won a 4-round unanimous decision over Juan Carlos Diaz in February 12th in Ontario, Kalifornien.
Along with Zamora, Ramirez is co-managed by Zenon and David Balderas. Ramirez trains alongside 2016 US. Olympian Karlos Balderas.
