ORANJE, ZOALS (Maart 7, 2022)– Thompson Boxing’s unbeaten lightweight contender, Miguel “El Explosivo” Madueño (27-0, 25 KO), who is known for his explosive power and exciting fights, now has the chance of a lifetime as he faces former world championJezzrel Corrales (25-4, 10 KO), in WBA lightweight title eliminator. The 12-round bout will take place at the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama City, Panama on March 12, 2022, on a “KO to Drugs” event hosted by the WBA.
The 23-year-old Madueño is looking to change his life forever as a win would put him in line to be a mandatory challenger for the WBA lightweight world champion, which is currently held byGeorge Kambosos Jr. (20-0, 10 KO), one of the biggest names in the sport.
“I want to thank my promoter Thompson Boxing for guiding my career in such a great way,” said Madueño, who is currently riding a 13-fight knockout streak. “They provided a way to get in me in a position to display my skills to the world. The 22-year-old Madueño, who hails from Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico, is coming off his most impressive victory, a tenth round TKO againstSonny Fredrickson (21-5, 14 KO). That fight just took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL, Op september 14, 20201. Fresh off the win, Madueño is excited to be right back in the ring.

Former super lightweight world title contender, Peter “Zar” Petrov (41-6-2, 22 KO), who was scheduled to open up the show, is now off the card.
The 8-round main event featuringRuben “Ace” Torres (14-0, 11 KO) vs. Diego Contreras (11-3, 5 KO), will remain intact. The 8-round co-main event will now showcase Mexican power puncher, Miguel “El Explosivo” Madueño(22-0, 20 KO) vs. Bergman Aguilar(15-6-1, 5 KO). The opening bout will stage TBP’sGeorge “El YuYu” Acosta(10-1, 1 KO) vs. Edgar “Pito Lupillo” Ramirez (17-16-1, 14 KO) in super lightweight bout scheduled for 6-rounds.
