LONG ISLAND, NY (August 1, 2018) – Former middleweight champion Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin and WBA Super Middleweight Women’s World Champion Alicia “The Empress” Napoleon visited Crestwood Day Camp Wednesday afternoon and hosted a motivational and fitness training session with over 200 campers.

 

 

 

Quillin and the Lindenhurst-native Napoleon took advantage of the opportunity to share positive messages with the campers ahead of their respective matchups taking place this Saturday, August 4 from NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

 

 

 

“Being a boxer is my lifestyle, and to be able to share some of the things that made me who I am with these kids is a great joy,” Said Quillin. “It’s so important to reach out to the next generation and give them the tools to live positively. As a pro athlete I consider that part of my job and something I take pride in doing.”

 

 

 

“I’m so happy to be here and give something back for these children,” said Napoleon. “Sharing different tips and motivations while I’m here is really an honor. I’m focused on defending my title Saturday night, but something like this is really a treat. I hope they all had fun and learned something they didn’t know before today.”

 

 

 

The fighters spoke to the larger group of campers and showed them some training techniques before running a half hour fitness session for about 25 seven and eight-year-olds to round out the afternoon.

AMATEUR GOLD WILL BE UP FOR GRABS AT NEF 33 IN PORTLAND

Portland, Maine (Februar 7, 2018) - New England Fights (NEF) returns to Aura in Portland onApril 14, 2018 med kampen promotering neste mixed-kampsport-arrangement, “NEF 33: Riptide.” Tidligere i dag, NEF announced the addition of an amateur featherweight title bout to the card. Taylor Costantino (3-3) vil møte Shawn Long (4-0) for the vacant 145-pound championship.

 

 

 

Taylor Costantino is a native of Long Island, New York where he began his MMA career in 2011 after being crowned a USA and Pan American Sambo champion. After moving to Maine, Costantino continued training and made his NEF debut in early 2016 with a 25-second TKO victory over Frank Johanson (2-2). Foreløpig, he is a member of Evolution Athletix based in Saco.

 

 

 

“I’m very excited to fight in Portland against a tough opponent,” said Costantino. “I’ve never taken an easy opponent, and this fight is no different. I have a lot to prove to my coaches, my teammates and myself – and a man with something to prove is a dangerous man.”

 

 

 

Undefeated Shawn Lunghi has been dominant in two previous NEF cage appearances. The Florida native first traveled north in the fall of 2016, scoring a second round submission of Alex Clark (4-2). Last weekend, Lunghi returned to take on Devin Corson (1-1). It took just over a minute for Lunghi to pull out another submission win on Maine soil. He will have little time to rest after the upcoming battle at “NEF 33.” In late April, Lunghi will leave for Fort Bliss, and from there will travel to Afghanistan in May as part of his service in the Army National Guard.

 

 

 

“I couldn’t be more excited to return to the NEF cage for NEF 33 and take a shot at the featherweight title,” sa Long. “Taylor is an experienced, game opponent and I expect he will be ready for a war. This will be my last fight for awhile as I will be deploying with the Army National Guard for the next year, but I can’t think of a better send off then to win the 145-pound title and celebrate with my RMNU team in Portland, Maine.”

Huntington, Long Island (Mars 22, 2017) –Denne fredagen night at the Paramount Theatre in Huntington, New York, The Burrell Twins, Scott and Dean will be back in action in highly anticipated bouts against tough competition.
Scott (12-2, 8 KO s) will take on Anthony Karperis (13-2, 4 KO s) in the ten-round main event, while Dean (11-1, 8 KO s) battles John Hernandez (8-1, 1 KO) in a six-round bout on the Joe DeGuardia Star Boxing card.
Scott will be making his first start since winning a unanimous decision over Joseph Perez (12-3-2) juli 23, 2016 i Uncasville, Connecticut.
Scott will be looking for his 6th consecutive win.
“I’ve had the best training camp and preparation for this fight than any other,” said Scott Burrell. “We’ve left no stone unturned in and out of the gym. I’m ready to go out there March 24th and put on a show!”

“This camp has been all about pushing my limits and challenging myself to work outside of my comfort zone. My coaches have pushed me, my brother has challenged me. All that’s left now is the final test March 24th, which I will pass!”

Like his 28 year-old twin brother, Dean has also been in a roll and will to be victorious for the 11th consecutive time, and has not lost since 2011.

Dean believes a win over Hernandez will be that breakthrough win that will carry him into the bigger fights.
“I’m feeling great, we’ve had a great 8 week camp, the hard work is done now it’s time to fight!” said Dean Burrell

“You reap what you sow, we have sowed the right seeds getting ready for March 24th, so I’m looking forward to reaping the benefits.”

“I always try to make sure that I have fun in preparation for fights, which we did. I’m looking forward to a tough fight against a tough opponent.”

They have worked so hard to get here and with this night of fights they both get a chance to shine together in front of friends and family. NEW YORK (August 24, 2015) – Ring åtte årlige Family Picnic vil bli holdt denne søndag ettermiddag (August, 30), 12-6 pm. OG, på Brady Park i Massapequa Reserve, Nassau på Long Island, New York.
“All Ring 8 medlemmer, sammen med sine familier og venner, ser frem til vår årlige piknik,” Ring 8 president Bob Duffy said. “Det handler om å ha det gøy, ikke nødvendigvis boksing, men samtalene har som regel ende opp som om vår favoritt sport.
