EDMONTON, Canada (August 13, 2018) – One of the best top-to-bottom pro boxing cards of the year will air Saturday afternoon, August 18, in Canada exclusively on Super Channel, live from Windsor Park in Belfast, Nord-Irland, Storbritannia.

 

 

 

Tre ganger, two-division world champion Carl “The Jackal” Frampton takes on Luke “Handling” Jackson in the 12-round main event for the Interim World Boxing Organization (WBO) Featherweight World Championship in the 12-round main event. Three-time Irish Olympian Paddy “The Leprechaun” Barnes challenges World Boxing Council (WBC) flyweight world champion Cristofer “El Latigo” Rosales in the 12-round co-featured event. In a Special Heavyweight Attraction, undefeated former unified world heavyweight champion Tyson “Gypsy King” Fury continues his comeback in a 10-round match against veteran Francisco Pianeta.

 

 

 

Frampton vs. Jackson, presented by Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions, will air across Canada exclusively on Super Channel, starter på 2:45 pm. OG / 11:45 a.m. PT.

Frampton (25-1, 14 KOs), fighting at home in Belfast, is a former World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight and super bantamweight champion, as well as International (IBF) super bantamweight world title holder, som er 5-1 i verdens tittelkamper, 7-1 versus present or former world champions. The reigning WBO Oriental featherweight champion, Jackson (16-0, 7 KOs) represented his native Australia in the 2012 OL. The upset-minded Jackson believes Frampton is finished.

 

 

“Across the board,” the outspoken Australian spoke about Frampton, “but I don’t think he is as good as he once was. In the first fight against Leo Santa Cruz he boxed out of his skin and deserved to win, but he hasn’t looked the same since. Carl is a very good fighter who does everything good, but I don’t think he does anything great. Rosales (27-3, 18 KOs), fighting out of Nicaragua, will be making the first world title defense of the title he captured last April in Japan, when he stopped Daigo Higa in the ninth round. Rosales is the cousin of Roman Gonzalez, the former pound-4-pound king of boxing.

 

 

The reigning WBO Intercontinental flyweight champion, Barnes (5-0, 1 KO) will also be fighting at home in Belfast in front of his passionate fan base. One of the greatest Irish amateur boxers of all time, Barnes will be fighting for a world title in only his sixth professional fight. He won two bronze medals (2008 & 2012) in his three trips to the Olympics, as well as gold in the 2019 European Championships.

 

 

 

“This is the fight that defines my boxing career,” Barnes claimed. “There were great achievements as an amateur including Olympic bronze medals, but that is only third place in the world, som er flott. To be the best in the world at your weight, the WBC world championship is definitely the one to win. I did great as an amateur and people will remember me for what I’ve achieved, but a world professional title is what I really want. I would swap everything I did as an amateur to win this fight.”

EDMONTON, Canada (Juli 30, 2018) – Resilient Canadian boxer Steve “The Dragon” Claggett (27-5-1, 17 KOs) pulled off another impressive road victory last Saturday night, when he edged previously unbeaten defending champion Petros Ananyan (13-1-2, 6 KOs) to capture the International Boxing Federation (IBF) International super lightweight title.

 

 

 

Presented by Lee Baxter Promotions, Claggett vs. Ananyan headlined the second installment of “SUPERBOX LIVE: – “Rise Up” – that aired across Canada exclusively on Super Channel, live from Powerade Centre in Brampton, Canada. Claggett, fighting out of Calgary, Canada, bounced back from a loss by way of a 10-round decision this past St. Patrick’s Day to Danny O'Connor i Boston.

EDMONTON, Canada (Juli 17, 2018) – Canadian boxing fans will be able to watch the much-anticipated World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) cruiserweight championship finale this Saturday afternoon, as they have throughout the wildly entertaining semifinals and quarterfinals rounds, utelukkende på Super Channel.

Seferi, fighting out of Albania, has suffered only one loss during his otherwise perfect 11-year pro boxing career, losing a 10-round decision in 2016 to future WBA heavyweight world champion Manuel Charr (29-4) for the vacant WBA International crown.
“This is going to be a hard fight for Fury,” Seferi predicted. “I’m very disciplined and always ready to take on everyone and anyone. This will not be an easy night for him. I’m coming to Manchester to beat one of the boxing legends of the 21st century.
“He is tall and strong, but he won’t be ready for the pressure that I will bring. Two-and-one-half years out of the ring is a long time and nobody knows if he is still the same fighter that dethroned Wladimir Klitschko. I am going to seize the opportunity with both hands.”

MULVANE, Mai. (Mai 21, 2018) — History was made this past Saturday night on the “SUPERBOX LIVE: High Stakes” pay-per-view card, når 2016 Olympic bronze medalist and local hero, Nico Hernandez, knocked out Hungarian challenger Szilveszter “The Silent Assassin” Kanalas in the opening round to capture the vacant International Boxing Association (IBA) Flyweight World Championship in only his fifth professional fight, ved Kansas stjerne Arena i Mulvane, Kansas.

 

 

 

In the first world title fight ever held in Kansas, Hernandez (5-0, 4 KOs) overwhelmed Kanalas (14-7, 9 KOs), the former World Boxing Federation (WBF) super flyweight world champion, to become the youngest (22) IBA world champion ever, as well as setting the record for the fewest pro fights needied to become IBA world titlist.

Hernandez was aggressive from the opening bell, pounding Kanalas’ head and body. A Hernandez left hook to the body really hurt Kanalas, who went down from a right that followed the vicious liver shot. Kanalas beat Hall of Fame Steve Smoger‘s count, and it was only a matter of time before Hernandez would end the fight. It came soon, right after another body-and-head combination put the over-matched Hungarian on the mat for the second and final time.

 

 

 

“A lot of people underestimate my power,” Hernandez said after the fight. “I believe that once he felt my power, I don’t think he wanted it anymore. I felt like I took his heart away. I was patient, I wanted it to go a few rounds to see what he had, but I took his heart away. I can’t really be disappointed because I am a world champion now.”

 

 

 

“Nico was explosive Saturday night and he showed killer instinct,” promoter John Andersen kommen. “He was going to box, but I think he smelled fear, and Nico got into Kanalas’ head. He sensed it and jumped on him.”

 

 

 

Before he left the ring, Hernandez took the microphone in the center of the ring and called out three-time Olympian and two-time Olympic bronze medalist, “Irish” Paddy Barnes (5-0, 1 KO), who was the favored to win a gold medal in the flyweight division at the 2016 OL. He was eliminated in the round of 16 and Hernandez took home the bronze medal. “There’s a bronze medalist from (Northern) Irland, Paddy Barnes, and that’s who I’d really love to fight.”

 

 

 

“I think that’s a fight we should start a conversation about,” Andersen remarked. “It’s not line Barnes is 21 (han er 31) and I don’t know of a lot of 30 or older flyweights. It makes a lot of sense and can be a big fight. They’re both Olympic bronze medalist, already fought in scheduled 10 og 12 round fights, and have belts. (Barnes is the WBO Intercontinental flyweight champ). Nico needs to step up in terms of competition, også. I think they should get in the ring and then we can see what happens.
