Las Vegas, NV – The undercard for Tribute to the Kings – Anderson Silva vs. Juli Cèsar Chavez, Jr. is coming to beIN SPORTS Saturday, Juny 19. The network announces it will broadcast the entire undercard live from Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico Saturday, Juny 19 a partir de 7:00 p.m. EST.

The undercard headliner on beIN SPORTS will be the super featherweight clash between Jose Acosta and Leonardo Padilla.

Headlining the Tribute to the Kings Pay-Per-View portion of the event will be MMA legend “The Spider” Anderson Silva competing in his first major boxing match vs. Juli Cèsar Chavez, Jr.


The co-main event will see the great Julio Cesar Chavez Senior take the ring for the last time to fight Hector “Little Macho” Camacho Jr., the son of the man he beat in the historic boxing match “Chavez vs. Camacho in 1992.

Guadalajara, Mèxic (Març 30, 2021) – It is Official!! — The Legend Anderson Silva has agreed to fight Julio Chavez Jr. in “Tribute to the Kings” in a boxing match on Saturday June 19th to be broadcast on Pay Per View in North America.

Anderson Silva, considered by many to be the greatest MMA fighter of all time, will take on former WBC Middleweight Champion of the world Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. in a boxing match on June 19th at Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara, Mèxic. Silva of Curitiba Brazil was the longest reigning middleweight Champion for the UFC and compiled a record of 34 victories with 11 losses and 23 stunning knockouts. His boxing record is 13 - 1. “When I look back at my journey, I see that nothing has been in vain!

Oleksandr Gvozdyk dethroned boxing’s longest reigning champion with a devastating 11º round knockout Saturday in Quebec City in a BOXA DE SHOWTIME: EDICIÓ ESPECIAL telecast that immediately preceded the Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury SHOWTIME PPV.

 

 

 

Gvozdyk (16-0, 13 KOs) used a powerful multi-punch combination in the penultimate round to put the back-and-forth bout out of question. The former Olympic bronze medalist and amateur teammate of fellow Ukrainians Vasyl Lomachenko and Oleksandr Usyk was impressive throughout the entire fight. He executed trainer Teddy Atlas’ game plan to perfection and was the busier of the two fighters. Stevenson (29-2-1, 24 KOs), who was making his 10º defensa del títol, was able to land his signature left hand on several occasions, most notably in the tenth round, but never did enough to truly trouble his opponent.

 

 

 

“This win means everything to me. I’ve trained my whole life for this and tonight all of the hard work was worth it,” said Gvozdyk, who was the mandatory challenger for Stevenson. “Having Teddy [Atlas] in my corner was a huge help. He knew exactly what to say to me. We trained so well for this fight and I knew I was going to get the knockout.

 

 

 

“Adonis was a great champion but it’s my time now. He got me with a good shot in the 10º round but I handled it and finished him. Ara, I just want to rest before I discuss my next step. I definitely want to stay at 175 lliura ".

“Saturday is a big fight. I’m not underestimating Gvozdyk. I know he’s a good fighter and he’s hungry. He’s trained very hard to get my title. But everybody who comes to my home in Canada always wants my title, but it’s never happened and it’s not going to happen now.

 

 

 

“I’m looking for the knockout. That’s just my mentality and the way that I train. Sucre [Hill Steward] trains me to think that way but I can also go 12 rondes, it’s not a problem. I know that if he makes a mistake, I’m going to catch him. He only has to slip up once in 12 rondes. One mistake, one punch. That’s all it’s going to take. Estic a punt. I know I can punch and it’s 12 rondes. I just need one punch. Just one. I’m going to catch him and the night will be over.

 

 

 

“I’ve been pushing myself in training and I’m going to put on another great performance come Saturday and will defend my title once again. Chavez is seeking to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on May 6, 2017.

 

 

 

The 36-year-old Angulo (24-7, 20 KOs) is a tough brawler who has faced some of the best boxers in the sport. Angulo, who lives in Coachella, California but was born in Mexicali, Baixa Califòrnia, Mèxic, is coming off a hard-fought split decision loss to former world champion Sergio Mora in April.

 

 

 

“I am excited to be back on December 1 to perform for the great Mexican fans in Los Angeles,” said Chavez Jr. “At my weight I know I can beat anyone. I am focused and feel strong. EL PAS, TEXAS (Juliol 18, 2015) - Juli Cèsar Chavez Jr. guanyat una decisió unànime (97-92, 98-91, 96-93) sobre Marc Reyes en l'esdeveniment principal de SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING en dissabte davant de 9,245 en el Do Haskins Center a El Paso, Texas.

 

Reyes was the more active fighter – he doubled Chavez’s output – but simply couldn’t hurt his larger opponent. Following a loss at light heavyweight last April, Chávez va decidir intentar fer campanya en pes súper mitjà.

“Ha discutit a la tornada 100 rondes, això és més del que ha fet en qualsevol altre camp d'entrenament. El camp d'entrenament era molt més fàcil del que esperava.
“Estic entrenant Julio no només per vèncer Marcos Reis, però jo estic entrenant juliol arribar el millor per a tres o quatre baralles a partir d'ara a mirar alguna cosa realment gran.
“Aquesta és la major oportunitat per Reis’ carrera, per la qual cosa hem d'estar preparats per a ell. Ell també té un gran entrenador en Nacho Beristain, que pot ser el millor entrenador mai, així que hem d'estar preparats per a això també.
“Immediatament després de la derrota de Juliol de [Andrzej] Fonfara, es va posar de tornada al gimnàs per preparar-se per aquesta lluita. He wants to fight on Saturday and then have two more fights before the end of the year. Crec que això és exactament el que necessita juliol, per mantenir-se actiu.
