FORMER IBF WORLD CHAMPION JONATHAN “SALOMON KING” GUZMAN SIGNS WITH EL MATADOR MANAGEMENT

QUEENS, NY (May 15th, 2018) – El Matador Management, Inc. has announced the signing of hard hitting super bantamweight contender, Jonathan “Salomon King” Guzman (23-1, 22 KO sika). Felipe Gomez will now be managing the career of hard hitting and former IBF World Super Bantamweight Champion Guzman, who hails from Santo Domingo, I-Dominican Republic. Gomez will be working closely with Sampson Lewkowicz (Guzman’ Umgqugquzeli) as they jointly look to keep Guzman busy, while guiding him back toward a world title.

 

 

 

Guzman won the IBF World Super Bantamweight Title with an 11-round stoppage over Shingo Wake (20-4-2, 12 KO sika) e Japan. Guzman then defended his title against Yukinori Oguni (18-1-1, 8 KO sika) in Kyoto, Japan losing a 12-round unanimous decision.

Lewkowicz Secures Right to Broadcast KO King Guzman’s Title Defense This Saturday in Japan

Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing is proud to announce he has secured the rights to broadcast a special early-morning Woz Promotions tripleheader of world-class boxing, on TyC Sports, on Saturday, December 31, 2016 (4:30 am ET/6:30 pm JST), from the Shimazu Arena in Kyoto, Japan, and featuring boxing’s next superstar, Jonathan “Salomon King” Guzman.

Brand-New IBF Junior Featherweight Champion Jonathan Guzman to be Ringside Friday at Foxwoods

IBF Junior Featherweight Champion Jonathan “Salomon King” Guzman (22-0, 22 Kos) won’t be taking any time to rest on his newly acquired laurels.
The Dominican KO artist won his first world championship yesterday (Wednesday, July 20) by stopping former #1 contender Shingo Wake in 11 brutal rounds in Osaka, Japan. Guzman’s power was simply too much for Wake, who fell four times before the end came at 2:16 from merciful referee Wayne Hedgpeth.
The iron-fisted Dominican could easily spend the rest of the summer celebrating the victory, but has no intention to do so.
He is quickly flying home from Japan in order to be ringside kusasa (Friday, July 22) at the Foxwoods Resort in Mashantucket, Connecticut, to watch San Antonio’s Adam Lopez face Argentina’s Roman Ruben Reynoso on ShoBox: The New Generation.
Guzman’s intention is to face the winner of that fight in his first title defense.

DOMINICAN KO ARTIST GUZMAN READY FOR FIRST WORLD TITLE SHOT

IBF #2 super bantamweight contender Jonathan “Salomon King” Guzman (21-0, 21 Kos) is hard at work preparing for the “fight of his life” with trainer Hector Bermudez at Peter Welch’s Gym in Boston.
The 26-year-old KO artist from Santo Domingo, I-Dominican Republic, will face IBF #1 contender Shingo Wake (20-4-2, 12 Kos) on Wednesday, July 20, at EDION Arena Osaka in Osaka, Japan, for the vacant IBF World super bantamweight title.
Guzman, who stopped Mexico’s tough Daniel Rosas in eighth round on April 29 to earn this fight, says his dreams are so close to coming true he can almost taste them. “I have waited my whole life for a world title fight and now it’s almost here,” said Guzman. “I can’t wait to get in the ring and win for my family and my country.”
Trainer Bermudez says Guzman has too many weapons to fall short in this fight. “Although Jonathan has never had to go the distance because his power is amazing, he can also box very well. He’s just never had to thus far in his career. Jonathan is the complete package and soon the world will be learning all about him. There is no way that Wake can beat him.”

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz Ordered to Begin Negotiating Guzman vs. Wake Fight for Vacant IBF Super Bantamweight Title

Sampson Boxing Fighters Score Four Impressive KOs in One Weekend
Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz has been given the go-ahead to begin negotiating a world-title fight between his fighter, explosive KO punching Dominican Jonathan Guzman, and the promoters for Japan’s Shingo Wake.
As per their rules for vacant championships, Lewkowicz, representing Guzman, the IBF #2 super bantamweight, and Kyoei Promotions representing IBF #1 Wake were ordered to begin negotiations immediately and have them completed no later than June 2 kulo nyaka.
Guzman (21-0, 21 Kos) is hot on the heels of a sensational eight-round stoppage victory over Daniel Rosas last Friday, April 29, e Atlantic City, in a voluntary eliminator for the #2 spot in the ratings.
Wake (20-4-2, 12 Kos) earned his number one spot by scoring a unanimous decision victory over Thailand’s Mike Tawatchai last June.
Also per IBF rules neither boxer may compete in another match until they face each other.
“Any boxer who is contracted with a promoter, a network, or a state, tribal or national commission to take another fight, or who is ill, injured, under a legal impediment which could prevent the bout from taking place in the opinion of the IBF/USBA, or on suspension at the time the Championships Chairman and the President order a bout under this rule shall be considered unavailable. We would then move to the next available contender. Neither fighter can take another fight until this fight for the vacant title is concluded.”
In the event the camps cannot reach an agreement by June 2, the IBF will call for purse offers to be held to determine who will promote the bout, when and where it will be held.
The Guzman vs. Wake fight is more good news for Sampson Boxing, who had four different fighters score sensational victories over the weekend.
In addition to the aforementioned Guzman TKO, Sampson Boxing’s Jorge “Pestle” Lara scored a jaw-dropping KO 1 over former world champion Fernando Montiel at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, ngomgqibelo. Lara had the formidable Montiel on the deck four times in a brutal beatdown that only lasted 1:37.
The same night in the same venue, future world champion and boxing prodigy David “El Bandera Roja/Red Flag” Benavidez destroyed capable New Yorker Phillip Jackson Benson by KO 2. Benavidez, Manje 14-0, 13 Kos, had way too much firepower for Jackson, who entered the ring a respectable 16-2, 15 Kos. Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing proudly announces the IBF has agreed to sanction a super bantamweight voluntary elimination fight between their #7 contender Jonathan Guzman and #14, Daniel Rosas for the #2 position in their ratings.
Under the IBF rules criteria, two of the top five available contenders can compete in a voluntary elimination fight for the second-highest spot in the ratings. Guzman (20-0, 20 Kos) from Santo Domingo, I-Dominican Republic, and Rosas (20-2-1, 12 Kos) from Mexico City, are Sampson Boxing promotional stablemates. The bout is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2016, e Atlantic City, E-New Jersey.
