(一月 29, 2016) – For the second week in a row all 13 matches went the three-round distance in last night’s Central New England (Greater Lowell) semifinals round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, featuring open and novice class action, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Returning New England welterweight champion 澤維爾維加, representing Canal Street Boxing in Lawrence (嘛), 是 4-1 winner against Michael Fontenez, of Nashua, NH.
Peter Welch’s Gym in South Boston led the hit parade with three winners, all in the novice class: 輕量級 喬納森Depina, 次中量級 Lipi Fernandes 和中量級 布萊恩勞倫斯. The Lowell West End Gym was the only other with more than one winner last night, both in the open class, 輕量級 Brandon Higgins and light welterweight Jeremiah Perez.

Proceeds from the Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship go towards sending the New England Golden Gloves champions to the National Golden Gloves Championship (2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah), in addition to supporting local athletes and area gyms, the Boys & 女孩俱樂部, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, cancer funds, scholarships and many other great charitable causes.
