LOS ANGELES (Février 5, 2019) – WBA champion du monde poids plume Leo Santa Cruz, one of Los Angeles’ most popular boxing stars, hosted a media workout at Fortune Gym in Hollywood Tuesday as he nears his primetime showdown againstRafael Rivera that headlines Premier Boxing Champions on FOX and FOX Deportes Saturday, Février 16 at Microsoft Theater at L.A. Santa Cruz, who was joined by his father and trainer Jose Santa Cruz, showed off the skills that have made him a can’t-miss attraction. Santa Cruz was originally scheduled to face Miguel Flores, but he was replaced by Rivera after Flores suffered an injury in training.

“We kept our training camp going despite the change of opponent. We always train the same no matter who the opponent is.

“We spar against fighters who have every different kind of style, because the opponent could always bring something new to the ring. My dad tells me to always be prepared for any kind of style. We are ready for whatever the opponent brings into the ring.

“I’m always staying in shape whether I’m in the gym training for a fight or not. When they call us and tell us what the fight is, we’re always ready.

“I know that Rivera has fought some good opponents like Joseph Diaz and Joet Gonzalez, and he’s gone the distance with them. He’s given them tough battles. He’s shown that he’s a tough fighter who will leave everything in the ring.

“This isn’t going to be an easy fight. Rivera is tougher than people have given him credit for in the past. It motivates me to try to be the first to knock him out. If I have the opportunity for it, I’m going for it. Most important though, is to come out of there with the victory.

“Sometimes when my dad is having tough days dealing with the cancer, I want to stay at home with him, but he tells me to go to the gym and train hard. So I tell him that we’re going to work hard for him. We both motivate each other.

“(Champion poids plume WBC) Gary Russell Jr. is the fight that I want. He beat me in the amateurs, but in the pros I get 12 tours. I think that I can beat him.”

“We didn’t worry too much about the opponent change. I don’t think it makes too much of a difference. Leo is going to be at his best and ready for whoever steps into that ring.

“We didn’t let the change effect our routine. We continued the same preparations as always so Leo is ready to fight. We respect every opponent too much to ever fall behind in conditioning.

“I think this is going to be a good fight. Leo is always very competitive and any time he can win a fight he knows it will be big for his career.

“Leo is 30-years-old right now and I think that he will be retired by 35. He has a lot left to accomplish in this sport and our team is going to keep pushing him to be the best that he can.”

LOS ANGELES (Février 5, 2019) – Mexico’s Cesar Juarez battles former champion Ryosuka Iwasa of Japan in a 12-round IBF Super Bantamweight title elimination match and undefeated IBF Junior Flyweight Champion Carlos Licona of Mexico clashes with South Africa’s DeeJay Kriel in non-televised action presented by Premier Boxing Champions on Saturday, Février 16 at Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

Action will also see 2016 U.S.. Olympien Karlos Balderas (6-0, 5 KOs) in a special six-round lightweight attraction, l'ancien challenger titre Hugo Centeno, Jr. (26-2, 14 KOs) réunion Oscar Cortez (27-3, 14 KOs) in an eight-round middleweight bout and John Redkach (21-4-1, 16 KOs) dueling Tyrone Harris (26-13, 16 KOs) in an eight-round welterweight match. The Balderas fight is a swing bout for the FOX and FOX Deportes telecast that will air live if time permits.

Juarez (23-6, 17 KOs) has worked his way back into title contention since losing to Isaac Dogboe in a super bantamweight championship match last January. The 27-year-old from Mexico City fought three more times in 2018, scoring two stoppage victories and a unanimous decision over Jorge Sanchez most recently in September.

Iwasa (25-3, 16 KOs) won the IBF Super Bantamweight title with a TKO victory over Yukinori Oguni in 2017 and successfully defended it with a unanimous decision over Ernesto Saulong last March. The 29-year-old from Kashiwa, Chiba, Japan most recently lost the title by unanimous decision to T.J. Doheny in August.

Mexico’s Licona (14-0, 2 KOs) was very busy in 2018, fighting four times and winning the IBF Junior Flyweight title with a split decision over Mark Anthony Barriga on December 1. The 23-year-old from Mexico City, Mexico will be making his first title defense against the 23-year-old Kriel (14-1-1, 6 KOs). Fighting out of Johannesburg, Afrique du Sud, he will compete for the first time in the U.S. and is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Xolisa Magusha in March.

LOS ANGELES (Janvier 13) – The challenger proved to be the aggressor as Caleb Plant became the IBF Super Middleweight World Champion, defeating Jose Uzcategui in the main event of the first Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 and FOX Deportes event of 2019, which took place at the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles. Plant dominated the whole fight as he maintained a fast and aggressive pace from the opening bell.

With scores of 116-110 deux fois et 115-111 in favor of Plant, the freshly crowned champion, Plant fell to his knees overcome with emotion when he heard “and the new!".

“I’ve worked my whole entire life for this,” said Plant. “I buried my daughter in the process of trying to get this belt. I promised I would bring her this title and that is what I am going to do.”

The super middleweight barnburner started out strong with both combatants throwing exchanges, but Plant did everything in his power to never back down. Uzcategui threw hard right hands to start the second round, but Plant quickly turned the round in his favor as he knocked Uzcategui to the canvas with a flurry of punches, only the third time Uzcategui had been knocked down in his career. A small cut opened under the left eye of Uzcategui to start the third, but he fought through it and fended off Plant’s aggression. One minute into the fourth round, a cut opened up under Plant’s right eye causing blood to stream. That did not stop the Nashville native as threw a hard left hook that once again sent Uzcategui to the canvas.

As the fight progressed, the Venezuelan was unable to utilize his distance, thus allowing Plant to fight on the inside. Despite good exchanges in the seventh and eighth, it became increasingly clear that Uzcategui would need a knockout to hold onto his belt. Uzcategui flipped a switch in the championship rounds and came forward, throwing hard blows to the body and head of Plant. But it was too little too late for Uzcategui as Plant’s ring generalship controlled the pace of the fight, ultimately ending in a unanimous decision.

“I knew I caught him clean [when I knocked down Uzcategui], but I knew he wasn’t all the way out so I took my time,” continued Plant. “I stayed relaxed. I stuck to the game plan and got it done just like I said I would.

“This is overwhelming. I am a kid who came from nothing. I believed in myself and now I’ve been crowned king. Maintenant, I am not thinking ahead. I just want to embrace this moment and soak it in.” 

“I did feel that I had the advantage heading into the fight,” said Uzcategui. “I went down because I was off balance, but I wasn’t hurt. He started to get tired around the sixth round, which was the plan. Caleb knew how to clench and hold. He was smart. He knew how to stay away from the punches.

“I expected more movement and more boxing out of him,” continued Uzcategui. “I would love the rematch. I think everyone saw a great fight tonight. I gave him the chance at the title and I would hope he would give me the chance to win it back.”

Unbeaten Brandon Figueroa (18-0, 13 KOs) de Weslaco, Texas faced former world title challenger Moises Flores (25-2, 17 KOs) de Guadalajara, Mex. in a WBA Super Bantamweight title eliminator. Figueroa wasted no time attacking Flores in round one as he came forward and threw several hard lefts followed by a body shot that seemed to surprise Flores. “I used that body work,” continued Figueroa. “I am really strong. I came in at 110 percent and did my job. I could have done better. I am really hard on myself. I know there are things I can continue to work on and will do that as soon as I get home. I am most definitely ready for a title shot.”

Fast-rising undefeated star and PBC Prospect of 2018 Joey Spencer (6-0, 6 KOs) of Linden, Michigan, continued his impressive knockout streak as he defeated Brandon Harder (2-2, 1 KO) of Southaven, Mademoiselle., in a super welterweight contest that saw Spencer knocking down Harder three times in less than two rounds. The Prelim telecast featured the long-awaited ring return of Guillermo Rigondeux (18-1, 12 KOs) who hadn’t fought since December 2017. The Cuban fan-favorite faced Giovanni Delgado of Tacubaya, Mex. (16-9, 9 KOs) and knocked him out in the last second of round one with an overhand left. Delgado could not be saved by the 10 count and the fight was called in favor of Rigondeux.

In the opening bout of the Premier Boxing Champions Prelims on FS1, Mexican Olympian Lindolfo Delgado (8-0, 8 KOs) of Linares, Mex. continued his professional knockout streak as he defeated Sergio Lopez (22-13-1, 15 KOs) of West Covina, CA via knockout at 2:48 de la troisième ronde. IBF World Champion ‘Manny’ Rodríguez will train in Cuba for Inoue Clash

Carolina,Puerto Rico – The IBF world bantamweight champion, Emmanuel “Manny”Rodríguez (19-0, 12 KOs) and his team left for Havana, Cuba to continue training for his unification fight against WBA world champion Naoya Inoue (17-0, 15 KOs). This is the semifinal round of the acclaimed World Boxing Super Series.

The date and venue of the event will be announced soon.

“I will be quartered in Cuba for 77 journées. It will not be easy to be away from myfamily for so long, but the sacrifice will be worth it”, said Rodríguez.

Les quatre ceintures de titre mondial des quatre principaux organismes de sanction, plus The Ring sangle du magazine, sera en ligne au Complexe Sportif Olympique de Moscou, quand WBC / WBO champion Oleksandr “Le chat” Usyk (14-0, 11 KOs) et détenteur du titre IBF / WBA Murat Gassiev (26-0, 19 KOs) s'affronter pour le premier trophée Muhammad Ali, en plus de déterminer le premier champion des poids lourds de croisière totalement unifié au monde dans ce qui est un candidat légitime du combat de l'année.

“Le camp d'entraînement avant la finale a été le même qu'avant mes autres combats,” Gassiev a commenté. “Mon adversaire est un gaucher, donc j'ai eu différents partenaires d'entraînement et vous devez faire les choses un peu différemment tactiquement contre un gaucher. Mais, outre que rien n'a changé.

 

 

 

“J'ai fait la même quantité de course, exercice physique et combat. Je ne pense pas à ce qu'il fait. Je dois être Murat Gassiev et faire de mon mieux… Je ne pense qu'à moi, mes compétences et ma condition. C'est tout.

 

 

 

“Je me battrais n'importe où dans le monde, mais c'est un plus pour ma mère et mon frère qu'ils peuvent facilement regarder le combat en direct. Je suis sûr que la finale sera un combat très intéressant et bon pour les fans du monde entier. Que le meilleur gagne!”

DETROIT (Juin 23, 2018) - Claressa Shields est devenu un champion du monde de la division, et Christina Marteau retenu ses deux ceintures de championnat du monde à la fois remporté des victoires de décision unanime vendredi soir sur BOXE SHOWTIME: ÉDITION SPÉCIALE du temple maçonnique à Detroit, moi.

Shields et Gabriels ont commencé le combat se balancer furieusement, mais il était Gabriels (18-2-1, 11 KOs) qui connecté sur un uppercut droit en envoyant Shields sur la toile. (voir la vidéo knockdown ICI)

Salamov a dit qu'il connaissait une fois qu'il connecté au premier droit que Howard a été blessé. « Je savais que dès que je suis arrivé le coup de poing qu'il serait très mal,"Il a dit. « Je l'ai senti à mon coude. Je ne voulais pas le frapper après parce que je savais qu'il était fini « .

 

 

 

L'ancien cruiserweight Howard avait quelques points forts et a pu atterrir efficacement sa main droite à plusieurs reprises, dont une puissante croix à droite dans la septième ronde qui semblait étourdir Salamov.
