(Mai 25, 2019) – Ancien champion des super poids welters Austin “Sans Doute” Truite (31-5-1, 17 KOs) a combattu l'ancien challenger pour le titre Terrell Gausha (21-1-1, 10 KOs) à un tirage partagé (96-94 pour la truite, 99-91 pour Gausha, 95-95) dans un combat de super poids welter de 10 rounds qui a fait la une des champions de boxe Premier sur FS1 et FOX Deportes samedi soir depuis le Beau Rivage Resort Casino à Biloxi, Mississippi.

“Nous devons recommencer. Ce n'était pas juste,” dit Trout de Las Cruces, N.m. “Faisons le encore. C'était après un an de licenciement. Le timing va être éteint. Maintenant que je suis un peu plus actif. J'ai besoin d'une revanche immédiate. Immédiat.

“Vous ne savez jamais comment les juges le voient, mais je sais 99-91 pour (Gausha) n'était pas correct. J'étais définitivement là-dedans plus d'un tour,” suite Truite. “Mais je ne me sentais pas bien là-dedans ce soir. J'ai dû forcer beaucoup de choses, et j'ai dû combler l'écart dans les derniers tours.”

“Je me sentais comme si je gagné le combat,” dit Gausha, originaire de Cleveland. “C'est de la boxe parfois. Vous ne prenez pas la décision.

“J'ai beaucoup traversé ce camp. C'est ce que c'est,” continua Gausha. “J'ai attrapé un gros rhume la dernière semaine du camp d'entraînement. Mon père est décédé pendant ce camp d'entraînement.

“Je ne me soucie pas vraiment d'un match revanche avec Trout,” conclut Gausha. “Je veux juste de plus gros combats. J'aimerais faire quelque chose de différent. Mais si nous devons passer par (Truite) encore une fois, nous le ferons et le rendrons plus convaincant la prochaine fois.”

Dans la co-fonctionnalité FS1, candidat invaincu Chordale Booker (15-0, 7 KOs) vaincu un vétéran robuste Wale Omotoso (27-4, 21 KOs) par décision unanime (100-90 X 3) dans un 10-ronde super concours welters. Booker, un gaucher de Stamford, Connecticut, dominé l'action contre le Nigérian Omotoso.

“Je suis toujours ému quand je me bats,” dit Booker. “Aujourd'hui, Je laisse tout sortir. J'ai l'impression que c'était le moment de briller après avoir finalement atteint ce niveau. C'était définitivement un combat intensif pour moi, face à un gars qu'ils m'ont dit que personne d'autre ne voulait se battre.

“J'ai l'impression de n'avoir rien à perdre,” suite Booker. “Je sens juste que je suis censé être ici. J'adorerais combattre Trout ou Gausha ensuite, ou tout autre challenger au titre qui veut se battre, Je suis prêt. J'ai lancé un jeu blanc ce soir et je suis prêt à être testé et à prouver que je suis le meilleur.”

Le combat d'ouverture sur FS1 en vedette Ahmed Elbiali (19-1, 16 KOs), un égypto-américain qui vit à Miami, Floride, remportant une victoire technique à élimination directe sur Marlos Simões (13-2-2, 5 KOs) de Curitiba, Parana, Le Brésil n'a pas pu continuer en raison d'une blessure à la mâchoire. Le combat swing sur FS1 a vu Chicago Shawn Simpson (10-0, 3 KOs) défaite Sergio Quiroz (6-2, 1 KO) de Los Angeles par décision unanime (60-54 X 3).

Les préliminaires de la PBC sur FS2 et FOX Deportes présentaient des perspectives de poids lourds percutantes Apochi (8-0, 8 KOs) du Nigéria poursuivant sa séquence à élimination directe parfaite en arrêtant Brooklyn Earl Newman (10-2-1, 7 KOs) 2:17 au septième round.

Justin est un excellent entraîneur et ensemble nous allons faire du bruit dans la division des poids lourds légers.”

“J'ai travaillé dur pour ce camp d'entraînement et je peux voir la différence par rapport aux autres camps que j'ai organisés dans le passé. Je travaille sur les fondamentaux de la boxe, utiliser davantage mon jab et configurer mes combinaisons. Je sais que j'ai le pouvoir d'assommer mes adversaires, mais maintenant j'en apprends plus sur la configuration. Vivre et s'entraîner à Las Vegas a été un gros coup de pouce pour ma carrière parce que le combat ici est sans égal. J'ai un excellent camp d'entraînement.”

Sur son affrontement avec Marlos Simões:
“Je sais que Simões est un adversaire durable qui n’a été arrêté qu’une seule fois dans sa carrière. Je m'attends à ce qu'il soit en pleine forme. Il a eu beaucoup de succès sur le ring, donc je me prépare pour un gars qui peut vraiment se battre. Je vais juste y aller et exécuter mon plan de match.”

Quand il sera prêt pour un titre mondial:
“Je veux obtenir autant de combats que possible cette année et faire courir un titre mondial 2020. Bien sûr, tout est basé sur le combat pour combattre, mais c'est le but.”

PT and be headlined by Puerto Rican Olympian Carlos Negron prenant Daniel Martz in an eight or 10-round heavyweight match and top prospect Amon Rashidi competing in a four or six-round welterweight attraction. The 28-year-old Elbiali (18-1, 15 KOs) is coming off an exciting third round knockout victory over Allan Green on Jan. 13 sur FS1. Elbiali, un égypto-américain qui vit à Miami, Floride, knocked down Green in all three rounds before scoring the victory. It was his second straight victory by knockout – the other coming against Zoltan Sera last June 10 – since losing the first fight of his career against former world champion Jean Pascal in 2017. Simões (13-1-2, 5 KOs) is coming a stoppage victory over Jefferson Luis De Sousa in December. The 30-year-old of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil suffered the only loss of his career against Manuel Ceballos last June.

After representing his native Puerto Rico at the 2008 Jeux olympiques, Negron (20-2, 16 KOs) was unbeaten in his first 13 combats professionnels. Now residing in Miami, the 32-year-old carried a seven-fight winning streak before losing to Dominic Breazeale in December on FOX. He will look to bounce back in his 2019 débuts sur mai 25. Negron will face Clarksburg, West Virginia’s Martz (18-6-1, 15 KOs), who enters this contest the winner of his last two and three of his last four outings. The 28-year-old lost to Luis Ortiz in December 2017 sur FS1.

Rashidi (6-0, 4 KOs), who was born in Dallas, Texas and now lives in Desoto, is coming off an exciting TKO victory over Gabriel Gutierrez at AT&T Stadium on March 16. The 26-year-old is unbeaten since turning pro in 2015 and has scored knockouts in three of his last four fights.

An accomplished amateur from Nigeria, Apochi (7-0, 7 KOs) turned pro in the U.S. en 2017 and has racked up knockouts in each fight since. The 31-year-old trains in Houston and scored more four knockouts in 2018 before making his 2019 debut in February and stopping Raymond Ochieng.

A former New York Golden Gloves Champion, Newman (10-1-1, 7 KOs) will look to rebound from a decision loss to Lionell Thompson that came after fighting Paul Parker to a draw on FS1 in 2017. The 27-year-old from Brooklyn was unbeaten in his first 10 pro se bat après être devenu pro 2014.

Undefeated Brandon Figueroa Defeats Moises Flores in Super Bantamweight Title Eliminator; Rising Star Joey Spencer Continues Knockout Streak

LOS ANGELES (Janvier 13) – The challenger proved to be the aggressor as Caleb Plant became the IBF Super Middleweight World Champion, defeating Jose Uzcategui in the main event of the first Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 and FOX Deportes event of 2019, which took place at the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles. Plant dominated the whole fight as he maintained a fast and aggressive pace from the opening bell.

With scores of 116-110 deux fois et 115-111 in favor of Plant, the freshly crowned champion, Plant fell to his knees overcome with emotion when he heard “and the new!".

“I’ve worked my whole entire life for this,” said Plant. “I buried my daughter in the process of trying to get this belt. I promised I would bring her this title and that is what I am going to do.”

The super middleweight barnburner started out strong with both combatants throwing exchanges, but Plant did everything in his power to never back down. Uzcategui threw hard right hands to start the second round, but Plant quickly turned the round in his favor as he knocked Uzcategui to the canvas with a flurry of punches, only the third time Uzcategui had been knocked down in his career. A small cut opened under the left eye of Uzcategui to start the third, but he fought through it and fended off Plant’s aggression. One minute into the fourth round, a cut opened up under Plant’s right eye causing blood to stream. That did not stop the Nashville native as threw a hard left hook that once again sent Uzcategui to the canvas.

As the fight progressed, the Venezuelan was unable to utilize his distance, thus allowing Plant to fight on the inside. Despite good exchanges in the seventh and eighth, it became increasingly clear that Uzcategui would need a knockout to hold onto his belt. Uzcategui flipped a switch in the championship rounds and came forward, throwing hard blows to the body and head of Plant. But it was too little too late for Uzcategui as Plant’s ring generalship controlled the pace of the fight, ultimately ending in a unanimous decision.

“I knew I caught him clean [when I knocked down Uzcategui], but I knew he wasn’t all the way out so I took my time,” continued Plant. “I stayed relaxed. I stuck to the game plan and got it done just like I said I would.

“This is overwhelming. I am a kid who came from nothing. I believed in myself and now I’ve been crowned king. Maintenant, I am not thinking ahead. I just want to embrace this moment and soak it in.” 

“I did feel that I had the advantage heading into the fight,” said Uzcategui. “I went down because I was off balance, but I wasn’t hurt. He started to get tired around the sixth round, which was the plan. Caleb knew how to clench and hold. He was smart. He knew how to stay away from the punches.

“I expected more movement and more boxing out of him,” continued Uzcategui. “I would love the rematch. I think everyone saw a great fight tonight. I gave him the chance at the title and I would hope he would give me the chance to win it back.”

Unbeaten Brandon Figueroa (18-0, 13 KOs) de Weslaco, Texas faced former world title challenger Moises Flores (25-2, 17 KOs) de Guadalajara, Mex. in a WBA Super Bantamweight title eliminator. Figueroa wasted no time attacking Flores in round one as he came forward and threw several hard lefts followed by a body shot that seemed to surprise Flores. Avec 30 secondes dans la ronde, Figueroa went for the body and worked Flores on the inside. While Flores seemed to find his footing at the start of round three, Figueroa unleashed a flurry of punches that sent Flores to the canvas once and then a second time that ended the fight at 1:35 de la troisième ronde.

“Break him down and finish him,” said Figueroa “This is exactly how I expected it to go. I knew that he wasn’t going to handle those body shots. My message to Daniel Roman is that I am going to go home and prepare.

“I used that body work,” continued Figueroa. “I am really strong. I came in at 110 percent and did my job. I could have done better. I am really hard on myself. I know there are things I can continue to work on and will do that as soon as I get home. I am most definitely ready for a title shot.”

Fast-rising undefeated star and PBC Prospect of 2018 Joey Spencer (6-0, 6 KOs) of Linden, Michigan, continued his impressive knockout streak as he defeated Brandon Harder (2-2, 1 KO) of Southaven, Mademoiselle., in a super welterweight contest that saw Spencer knocking down Harder three times in less than two rounds. The 18-year-old Spencer, qui s'est battu, qui a combattu 100 se bat comme un amateur, established his jab early and landed at will. The Prelim telecast featured the long-awaited ring return of Guillermo Rigondeux (18-1, 12 KOs) who hadn’t fought since December 2017. The Cuban fan-favorite faced Giovanni Delgado of Tacubaya, Mex. (16-9, 9 KOs) and knocked him out in the last second of round one with an overhand left. Delgado could not be saved by the 10 count and the fight was called in favor of Rigondeux.

“This is my division. Ce est mon temps,»Dit Rigondeaux. “I am the king of 122 livres. Je me sentais 100 pour cent. Delgado is a good fighter. I take my hat off to him and his team. In the opening bout of the Premier Boxing Champions Prelims on FS1, Mexican Olympian Lindolfo Delgado (8-0, 8 KOs) of Linares, Mex. continued his professional knockout streak as he defeated Sergio Lopez (22-13-1, 15 KOs) of West Covina, CA via knockout at 2:48 de la troisième ronde. MIAMI (Décembre 9, 2017) – Former light heavyweight world champion Jean Pascal(32-5-1, 19 KOs) scored an impressive stoppage of previously unbeaten Ahmed Elbiali (16-1, 13 KOs) in the sixth round of the main event of a special Friday night edition of Premier Boxing Champions MARDIS TOE-to-toe sur FS1 et Champions de boxe on FOX Deportes at Hialeah Park in Miami, Floride.
Having already stated that this bout would be the final of his 12-year career, Pascal was able to wear down his younger opponent in a fight that featured power punches throughout. Elibali appeared to have Pascal stunned and hurt in the opening moments of the first round, but was unable to capitalize as Pascal began to time his powerful counters.
“It was a beautiful fight,” ledit Pascal. “I knew it would be my last one and I wanted to make a statement against a young, unbeaten fighter. It went basically as I expected, a couple of difficult moments but I was able to do everything I wanted.”
Elbiali stuck to his strategy of walking down Pascal with power shots, but exhausted too much energy in doing so while not being able to seriously hurt his opponent. Pascal’s counters grew stronger as the fight went on and Elbiali lost steam on his punches as he entered the sixth round for only the fourth time in his pro career.
After an impressive round five, Pascal poured on the attack in round six, landing numerous unanswered hooks before Elbiali’s corner called for a stop to the fight at 2:06dans la ronde.
“I fought his fight, I should have boxed more and taken him into the later rounds,” Saïd Elbiali. “It wasn’t my day. He is a world class fighter. I felt like I hurt him in the first round, but I felt drained after that. I’m not sure why, it might have been the nerves. But I’ll learn from this.”
The co-main event of the telecast saw top heavyweight contender Luis “King Kong” Ortiz (28-0, 24 KOs) deliver a second round knockout of Daniel Martz (16-6-1, 13 KOs) and swiftly call out heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder, who had joined the FS1 broadcast ringside.
The towering heavyweights exchanged words in the ring after the fight, with both men looking forward to a possible matchup in 2018.
“I’ve wanted you and I’m going to bless you again with another opportunity,” Saïd Wilder. “I was ready the first time. This is a new day for you. I think you’re one of the best heavyweights in the world and I want to prove that I am the best. We must fight each other. You will have your fight.”
“Anthony Joshua doesn’t want to fight either of us, let’s give the world this fight,” Ledit Ortiz. “There will be no excuses. I will be ready to do this for Cuba!”
Ortiz made quick work of his opponent, knocking him down with body shots in round one before delivering a counter left hand that put Martz down and prompted referee Samuel Burgos to stop the fight 43 secondes dans le deuxième tour.

Perrella got off to a fast start when he landed a thudding lead right hook from the southpaw stance that put Martin on the canvas. Martin was able to recover enough to survive the round and rebounded to put together several good rounds while showing off impressive boxing ability.
The Florida-native Perrella was able to stabilize his lead and ride the momentum from the early knockdown to victory as he picked up his jab and overall aggressiveness in the second half of the fight. “I worked hard to get the win,” said Fulton. “I had to adjust after the first two rounds but I took the fight to him and controlled the pace. He thought he had me hurt in round two, but it wasn’t anything. He landed a good shot but that was it. I never stressed about how the fight would turn out as long as I stuck to the game plan.”
Lopez had his best moment of the fight late in round two when he staggered and appeared to hurt Fulton, who took a series of right hands before hearing the bell. Fulton was able to adjust and use his jab effectively while countering and rarely allowing Lopez to cut off the ring. Lopez was successful when he was able to get Fulton pinned against the ropes, but after eight rounds the judges ruled in favor of Fulton by scores of 78-74, 77-75 et 76-76.

Ortiz is returning to the ring one week after the World Boxing Council lifted a sanction that it had imposed against the Cuban heavyweight contender in October. Ortiz was pulled from a match against world champion Deontay Wilder scheduled for Nov. 4, after Ortiz failed a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association drug test. Last week the WBC ruled that Ortiz had failed to disclose two medications that he was taking, which triggered his positive test. He was fined $25,000 for failing to make the disclosure, and re-instated into the organization’s rankings.
That cleared the way for Ortiz to return to the ring, and he will waste no time doing so with a match that he hopes will help propel him toward another world title shot in 2018.
“I’m just thankful to be back in the sport I love so much. I can’t wait to get some action and feel that ring and those gloves tight on my wrist,” Ortiz said. “I’d like to thank everyone, especially my loyal fans, who stood by me and supported me through this rough time. I don’t think it would have been possible without you guys. I’d like to thank the WBC and Mr. Sulaiman for being humane enough to take time for their investigation, and my entire team who never lost faith in me. But most of all I need to thank God because without him there wouldn’t be anything worth living for.”
The 38-year-old Ortiz (27-0, 23 KOs), of Camaguey, Cuba now resides in Miami, Floride, and will be fighting Martz in a 10-round bout in front of his adopted hometown crowd. The hard-hitting southpaw turned pro seven years ago after defecting from Cuba and has since been steadily climbing the heavyweight ladder. He cemented his standing in the division with victories over veteran contenders Bryant Jennings, Tony Thompson and Malik Scott and is currently ranked No. 3 par le WBC. Ortiz hasn’t fought in almost a year, having scored a technical knockout victory over David Allen at Manchester Arena in England on Dec. 10, 2016 dans son dernier combat.
Ortiz-Martz replaces the Chad Dawson-Edwin Rodriguez light heavyweight bout on the card. The match was cancelled after Dawson suffered an injury in training camp.

He is coming off a second round technical knockout victory over Tim Washington on Nov. 17.

“For the first time during a training camp, I’ve really secluded myself from society. I’m living at my trainer Carlos Albuerne’s house. It’s like I’m in prison. The 27-year-old Elbiali (16-0, 13 KOs) is a powerful 175-pound contender looking to prove he stacks up with the other big punchers in the division. Born in Cairo, Egypt and now living in Miami, he will be fighting before a hometown crowd in a major step up bout against the former 175-pound champion Pascal. Elbiali is coming off a TKO victory against Christopher Brooker in his last fight on Juillet 18 after previously stopping Jackson Junior in March.

The 34-year-old is looking to bounce back from losing a majority decision to Eleider Alvarez in his last fight onJuin 3.
“This is not only a comeback fight, but I’m ready to battle for my career on Décembre 8,” ledit Pascal. “They’re trying to give this young guy a test against a former champion and he’s going to try to use me as a ladder to the next level in this sport. I have a dangerous opponent and I’m going to be ready for him. When I fought Bernard Hopkins I was the young lion, now it’s the other way around and I’m going to be ready to show him something he’s never seen before.”
The 35-year-old Dawson (34-5, 19 KOs) is a two-time light heavyweight champion who has been in the ring against some of the best boxers in the division throughout this era. He won the light heavyweight world championship with a unanimous decision victory over Tomasz Adamek in 2007 and lost the title via a technical decision to Jean Pascal in 2010. He regained the belt with a majority decision victory over Bernard Hopkins in 2012 before losing to Andre Ward later that year. Combats de New Haven, Connecticut, Dawson is coming off a technical knockout loss to Andrzej Fonfara in his last fight on Mars 4.
“I know Edwin Rodriguez very well from sparring together in the past,” said Dawson. “We’re both in a position where we really need this win, and that’s going to make this an exciting fight. I’m motivated to do it one more time, and this time, I’m doing it right. I know that he’s strong and aggressive, but I’ve been in fights like this. I’m prepared for that type of intensity level, and I’m ready to go out and enjoy myself. Rodriguez (29-2, 20 KOs) has the kind one-punch knockout power that makes him a dangerous opponent against anyone in the division. Rodriguez was born in Moca, Dominican Republic and now lives in Worchester, Masse. while training out of Houston. The 32-year-old lost a unanimous decision to Andre Ward in his biggest bout to date and he most recently scored a technical knockout victory over Melvin Russell on Juillet 18.
“Chad Dawson is a former champion and a great fighter who at one point was looked at as close to being one of the best fighters, livre-pour-livre,” dit Rodriguez. “He’s had had his share of losses, but he was beating Fonfara in his last fight before being caught and knocked out. It was very important for me to come back and win my last fight by knockout, but an impressive win over a guy of Chad’s caliber will revitalize my career. This is going to be a great fight and I believe I can win by knockout or decision.”
