“Crossroads” results from New Hampshire

DERRY, N.H. (April 18, 2021) -Former New England middleweight championKendrick “Peppa” Ball, Jr. turned in a career-best performance in last night’s main event against dangerousBryan “The Warrior” Vera on the evening portion of the “Crossroads” day-night doubleheader, von Granit Chin Promotions präsentiert, at New England Sports Center in Derry, New Hampshire.

The pre-fight plan was followed as Ball (16-1-2, 11 KOs) boxed and moved, while Vera (28-17, 18 KOs) applied pressure, right from the opening bell. Ball took control in the second round, when he stayed in the pocket, snapping off crisp combinations. Ball fired more effective combinations in the third round as Vera started chasing his opponent. Ball started moving around the ring and fighting from the outside in the fourth and stayed on his toes the remainder of the fight.

Ball won an 8-round unanimous decision (79-73, 79-73, 78-74) to become the World Boxing Council (WBC) USNBC (Vereinigten Staaten) Silver Super Middleweight Champion.

“This was my best fight, because of who I fought, and the magnitude of the fight,” Ball commented. “The plan was to box and move because he was much smaller and slower. At times I banged, when I knew he wasn’t hurting me, but I shouldn’t have taken the risks.”

The 39-year-old Vera isn’t the same fighter he was when he beat three different world champions –Andy Lee, Sergio Mora (zweimal) undSerhiy Dzinziruk.  The Texan needs to decide if it’s time to finally hang up his gloves.

“This was awesome, definitely our best show to date,” Granite Chin’sChris Traietti declared after the show. “We feel great about stepping up to give these fighters, especially the locals, a platform to perform on in front of fans. I think a lot of promoters have gotten lazy. They gave us a lane and Granite Chin took advantage. This was our fourth show with fans during the last year. Brian fought hard and he’s a great guy, but he’s not the same guy he was in 2011. He needs to think about what he’s going to do.

“Granite Chin returns here June 26th with another doubleheader. The afternoon show will be the Granite Chin Invitational for open elite boxers. With the New England Golden Gloves canceled again there is a void to fill. If promoters are going to help amateurs, I certainly will, starting June 26th."

HerausfordererMarquis Bates (8-4, 6 KOs) dethroned defending New Hampshire Welterweight ChampionRyan Dibartolomeo (3-2-1, 1 KO) via a sixth-round stoppage in an entertaining co-feature. A devastating overhand right from Bates gave him his new crown as the referee didn’t even count as the ring doctor quickly entered the ring.

Larry "Hitman" Pryor took the contract out onScott Lambert and he wasted little time taking care of business to become the New Hampshire Cruiserweight Champion. Pryor took advantage of his decisive height and reach advantages, closing the show with a perfectly thrown left hook that sent Lambert to the canvas. Lambert managed to beat the count, but the referee stopped the fight midway through the opening round when he saw Lambert wobbling back and forth on rubbery legs.

Lanky lefthandedFrancis “The Tank” Hogan (5-0, 5 KOs) graduated last night with a brilliant performance againstLarry “Slo Mo” Smith, who was in his 60th career fight. Hogan put down Smith early in the third round and caught the Texan late in the same round with a lefty-combination to the temple. Smith beat the count, but he was unable to answer the bell for the fourth round, and 20-year-old Hogan became the new New Hampshire Junior Middleweight Champion.

Former New England heavyweight championJustin “Crazy Train” Rolfe (5-2-1, 4 KOs) positioned himself for another N.E. title shot with a spectacular knockout ofAlfredo “Choncho” Trevino (9-9-1, 1 KO). The 263-pound Rolfe, fighting out of Fairfield, Maine, charged across the ring at the bell and put his Arizona opponent to sleep right in his corner, when he was counted out at the 20-seconds mark.

The newest member of the fightin’ Whitley family from western Massachusetts, ungeschlagen WeltergewichtDenzel Whitley, cruised to his fourth victory with his fourth knockout. He drilledAquilandro Brandao late in round one and the fight was stopped by the referee.

UBO All-America Welterweight ChampionBrandon “The Cannon” Berry (21-5-2, 13 KOs) successfully defended in the afternoon card’s main event, overcoming a slow start in which he was buzzed to stop challengerGael Ibarra (5-3, 4 KOs) in the fifth round.

Berry finished the fight in the fifth, when he unloaded twin barrages of unanswered punches on a trapped Ibarra until the referee waved off the fight.

“I’m glad it wasn’t a 4-round fight,” Berry said after the fight. “He was a strong guy. I was feeling it. He tested me. I want to thank my family and friends here, and Granite Chin and everybody involved in the promotion.”

QUINCY, Masse. (November 1, 2018) — The return of three-time world challenger Aleksandra Lopes Headliner “Championship Boxing at The Armory,” von Granit Chin Promotions präsentiert (GCP), Thanksgiving Eve (Mittwoch, November. 21), at the National Guard Armory (70 Victory Road) in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

 

 

 

Many of New England’s most talented and popular boxers will be on the card, which will also feature a Massachusetts State title fight in Granite Chin Promotions’ third and final show of 2018.

 

 

 

“We are excited to be running once again on Thanksgiving Eve,” said GCP co-promoter Chris Traietti, who will also be fighting on this card. “Throughout the last few years, Granite Chin has been trying to make it a Thanksgiving tradition to bring local boxing to the area as a fun way to get people together.”

WORCESTER, Masse. (August 19, 2018) – Sieben Jahre nach seinem letzten Kampf, “Der gallo” Jose Antonio Rivera um den Ring in großem Stil gestern Abend zurück (Samstag) Schlagzeile “Heimkehr, von Granit Chin Promotions in Verbindung mit Rivera Promotions Entertainment präsentiert, im Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts.

 

 

 

Die 45-jährige Rivera (42-6-1, 25 KOs), 35 Pfund leichter als er im Februar war, als er eine Ausbildung begonnen, das Haus in seiner Heimatstadt verpackt, vollständig unter seine unterstützende Fans. Der dreimalige, Zwei-Teilung Weltmeister Rivera unter Druck Larry “Slomoshun: Schmied (10-38-1, 7 KOs) von der Öffnung Glocke und er nie nachgelassen.

 

 

 

Es dauerte ein paar Runden für Rivera, sich abzunutzen dem Rost, aber er gefüttert Smith eine unveränderliche Diät von Body Shots, seinen Gegner nach und nach brechen, als er gewann Runde für Runde nach Punkten. Auch zu Hause kämpft zum ersten Mal, Grau gesprengt sein Spiel Gegner, Knacken ihn mit einem Bilderbuch-, Links-Kampf-Kombination, die Fernandez auf den Rücken legen. Fernandez schlagen die Zählung, aber Schiedsrichter Bob Benoit stoppte die Aktion.

(August 15, 2018) – Der dreimalige, Zwei-Teilung Weltmeister “Der gallo” Jose Rivera hat einen neuen Gegner für sein Comeback an diesem Freitag Abend kämpfen in “Heimkehr”, von Granit Chin Promotions präsentiert (GCP) in Verbindung mit Rivera Promotions Unterhaltung (RPE), im Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts.

 

 

 

Die 45-jährige Rivera (41-6-1, 24 KOs), das wurde abgeglichen Ruben “Modern Day Krieger” Galvan, herauszufinden, erst gestern (Dienstag) dass Galvan hatte einen Finger in der Nacht aufgebrochen vor. Texas Veteran Larry “Slomoshun” Schmied (10-37-1, 7 KOs) für Rivera ist der späte Ersatz in dem Acht-Runden-Main Event.

 

 

 

“Ich bin kein Fan von späten Änderungen,” Rivera sagte, “aber an diesem Punkt ist es entweder der oder kein Kampf, und ich habe zu hart trainiert, nicht zu kämpfen.”

 

 

 

Rivera zuletzt kämpfte in 2011, eine Acht-Runden-Entscheidung zu übernehmen Paul Mpendo, im Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.

WORCESTER, Masse. (Juli 31, 2018) – Ein Dutzend Jahre nach eroberte er seinen dritten WM-Titel in zwei verschiedenen Gewichtsklassen, sieben seit seinem letzten Kampf, “Der gallo” Jose Rivera wieder in den Ring August 17 Schlagzeile “Heimkehr”, von Granit Chin Promotions präsentiert (GCP) in Verbindung mit Rivera Promotions Unterhaltung (RPE), im Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts.

 

 

 

Die 45-jährige Rivera (41-6-1, 24 KOs) hat bereits mehr als verloren 30 Pfund, nun innerhalb von vier Pfund seiner kontrahierten Gewicht, da er in diesem Jahr begonnene Ausbildung früher. Er wird Schlagzeile gegen Ruben “Modern Day Krieger” Galvan (27-26-4, 10 KOs) in dem Acht-Runden-Main Event.

 

 

 

In 1997, Rivera eroberte die International Boxing Organization (IBO) Welt-Titel im Weltergewicht, Einstellung Gilberto Flores in der zweiten Runde. Sechs Jahre später, reiste er nach Deutschland auf ungeschlagen zu nehmen, Heimatstadt Favoriten Michel Trabant (38-0) um die vakante World Boxing Association (WBA) Welt-Meisterschaft im Weltergewicht, in denen gewonnen Rivera eine 12-Runden-Entscheidung und den Gürtel.

 

 

 

Vor fast 10,000 Heimatstadt Fans in Worcester, Rivera seine Box-Karriere mit einer Kappe bedeckt durch ein 12-Runden einstimmig gewinnt in 2006 über Titelverteidigerin Alejandro Garcia(25-1) um den WBA-Weltsuperweltergewicht Titel.

 

 

 

“Die Idee zur Rückkehr in den Ring begann mit meinem Sohn. A. Während Rivera Titel regiert, im Gegensatz zu anderen Weltmeister, er hielt auch einen Vollzeit-Job als Gerichtsoffizier in der Massachusetts Tatgericht, noch eine Position in Worcester, dass er hält 17 Jahre später. Zwischen Arbeit und Ausbildung, nie seine familiären Pflichten kümmern, Jose irgendwie schafft, alles in seinem sehr beschäftigt Leben zu balancieren.

 

 

 

“Sagen wir einfach, es für einen vollen Terminkalender macht,” Rivera, bemerkte. “Ich bin auf die Pflege meiner Familie verpflichtet und wird tun, was es braucht. Der Plan ist für ihn zwei weitere Kämpfe zu haben insgesamt zu erreichen 50 wie ein Profi, aber er nimmt die Dinge einen Kampf auf einmal, und er hofft, dass nach wie vor seinen nächsten Kampf, später für dieses Jahr vorläufig geplant, wird sein Sohn Profidebüt auf der gleichen Karte wie.

 

 

 

Rivera zuletzt kämpfte in 2011, eine Acht-Runden-Entscheidung zu übernehmen Paul Mpendo, im Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut. QUINCY, Masse. (April 2, 2018) — This Saturday night’s “Fight Night at The Zone”, von Granit Chin Promotions präsentiert, has been strengthened by the late addition of hot prospect Irvin Gonzalez to a card already showcasing some of the best young, professional boxers in New England.

 

 

 

Granite Chin Promotions is on a mission to establish a fan-base in the Granite State, providing a fan friendly, full entertainment experience at The Sports Zone in Derry, New Hampshire.

 

 

 

Gonzalez (8-0, 7 KOs), fighting out of Worcester, MA, ein 2015 New England Golden Gloves Champion, who qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials. The 21-year-old featherweight prospect will face Mexican Francisco “Der Affe” Medal (12-12, 8 KOs) in einem Sechs-Runden-Kampf.

 

 

 

Gonzalez, who hasn’t fought since December 1 1 (sensational third-round knockout of previously undefeated 13-0 Marlon Olea in Providence), was supposed to fight St. Patrick’s Day in Boston, but he was informed the day of the weigh in that his opponent hadn’t cleared medicals.

QUINCY, Masse. (Februar 28, 2018) — Many of New England’s best and brightest professional boxers will be in action Samstag Nacht, April 7, as Granite Chin Promotions returns to the Granite State, presenting “Fight Night at the Zone,” at The Sports Zone in Derry, New Hampshire.
“Granite Chin is excited to be back in New Hampshire,” Copromotor Chuck Shearns sagte,. “The town of Derry and the local businesses have already started to support the event. We are looking forward to having professional boxing in the area. Some of the fighters on the show gave us some great fights last time around and we certainly expect more on this show.”
Former New England junior middleweight champion Derek “Der Chirurg” Silveira (13-2, 7 KOs), of Salem, MA, headlines in a 10-round match.
New England cruiserweight champion Chris Traietti, an Iraq War veteran from Quincy, MA, will headline the event in a non-title, eight-round co-featured event. Traietti ist auch der Co-Promotor aus “Fight Night at The Zone.”

HAMPTON, N.H. (Dezember 9, 2017) — Colorful light heavyweight prospect Richard “Popeye der Seemann” Rivera blieb ungeschlagen (5-0, 4 KOs), Veteran Roberto “The Old” Valenzuela, letzter Nacht (Sa.) in der “Rumble at The RIM” Hauptereignis, von Granit Chin Promotions präsentiert, at The RIM Sports Complex in Hampton, New Hampshire.
Rivera, Kampf aus Hartford (CT), controlled the action from the opening bell against his battle-tested opponent from Mexico, who had a tremendous experience advantage in his 147th Profi-Kampf, compared to Rivera’s fifth.
Valenzuela spent most of the time on the ropes, while Rivera teed-off on him, until a beautiful placed left hook by Rivera decked Valenzuela, who failed to get up until after referee Mike Ryan completed the 10-count.
A busload of Rivera’s fans drove five hours from Hartford through a snowstorm, arriving just before Rivera entered the ring. “That means a lot to me,” Rivera smiled as he spoke about his fans. “We’re more than a gym, wir sind Familie.
“I was so used to an amateur style but now I’m a pro. I’m relaxing and picking my punches. Nächster, I want to win the New England title. It’s vacant and I want it!”
“This was our first show in New Hampshire and I consider it a success,” Copromotor Chuck Shearns sagte,, “despite some things going against us like tonight’s weather. The son and nephew of multiple-time world kickboxing champions – father Tommy and uncle – worked his corner — Peabody, MA Russell Kimber had a promising pro debut against tough Nathan Schulte in a match contested at a 185-pound catchweight. The 32-year-old Kimber, who was the crowd favorite having lived several years in New Hampshire, overcame the determined Schulte for a hard-fought victory by way of a four-round majority decision.
“I was a little nervous with this being my first time in a pro ring,” Kimber admitted after his fight. “I hadn’t been in a ring for 1 ½ years and there was some ring rust. Jetzt, I know what I need to good, and I’ll be a lot better next fight. This was my first camp and I’ve learned a lot. I’d like to stay busy, come back in late January, early February.”
Undefeated Whitman, MA junior welterweight prospect Mikrofon “Bad Man” JE, Jr.charged across the ring, unloading a powerful right that immediately sent Bardraiel Smith auf die Leinwand. Smith somehow got to his feet but Ohan quickly ended Smith’s night, only 30-second into round one, as referee Ryan waved off the action.
New England cruiserweight champion and the show’s co-promoter, Iraq War veteran Chris Traietti (25-5, 19 KOs) übertroffen Fabian Valdez en route to a win by second-round knockout in a stay-busy fight to close out 2017. In a non-title fight contested at a 185-pounds catchweight, the Quincy, MA-based Traietti floored his game Mexican opponent with a straight right midway through the opening round, closing the show in the second round with a series of unanswered punches.
The only New Hampshire native on the card, Claremont junior middleweight Ricky Ford(1-1-1) won his first pro fight, taking a lop-sided, four-round unanimous decision over pro MMA fighter Andy Aiello, who made his pro boxing debut.
In another stay-busy fight, former world-rated Ryan “Der polnische Prinz” Kielczweski(27-3, 9 KOs), fighting out of Quincy (MA), needed only 51-seconds to finish off Mexican lightweight Francisco “Der Affe” Medal. Kielczweski hit Medal with a with a lethal left to the body, leaving Medal in obvious pain and unable to rise before the 10-count.
New Jersey middleweight Chris “Sandmann” Thomas (7-0-1, 4 KOs) kept his unbeaten pro record intact with a second-round stoppage of Demetrius Thomas. Thomas used a rapid-fire combination to drop Thomas, who beat the count, but he was getting hammered when referee Ryan stopped the fight late in the second round.
