Barrett de Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey é uma figura popular em torno da área de Beach Haven / Long Beach Island devido a ele ser um seis vezes campeão de MMA Heavyweight.
Barrett tem esculpido uma carreira no MMA fantástico, mas sempre teve a coceira para se tornar um boxeador.
Barrett tem experiência no ringue como ele tem um empate em uma luta que ele participou de 2006.
“Quando tomei a primeira luta de boxe era apenas fazê-lo e para se manter ativo. Meu principal fundo estava lutando, mas cada vez que o sino tocou Eu só queria dar socos. Anos atrás, eu iria assistir The Contender e ver como os pugilistas foram retratados como profissionais e atletas respeitosas em comparação com alguns dos outros reality shows de luta da época. “Eu já era um lutador de MMA estabelecida quando eu levei a minha primeira luta de boxe. Após essa luta caiu completamente me foi oferecido outra luta de MMA, pela primeira vez em HWT, com um adversário que se recusou a lutar contra mim como uma substituição de última hora contra ele em uma luta que ele estava programado para. Meses depois, ele me ligou agora querendo lutar. Eu levei isso em vez pessoalmente então eu voltei para o MMA para lutar com ele e ganhou. Depois que eu comecei a ficar um monte de ofertas para lutar no HWT no MMA e desde que se tornou um 6 tempo HWT campeão em quatro diferentes promoções, mas ainda queria caixa novamente.”
Barrett começou a H.I.T.M empresa. Promoções, que representam a história na fatura, porque ele estava cansado de esperar por uma oportunidade no boxe, e também queria ajudar outros lutadores promover suas próprias carreiras.
“Eu sacrifiquei muito e me dedicado tanto tempo que eu senti que era hora de tomar o controle do meu próprio destino. Não importa o quão duro eu trabalho ou quão preparado estou, Eu estava sempre à esquerda à espera de uma oportunidade. Ter a minha própria empresa de promoção remove a espera. Agora eu posso lutar em outros shows, ou meu próprio e me manter ativo. Comecei H.I.T.M. Promoções para não ser um promotor, mas para ser um lutador. Meu foco é completamente neste sábado, mas no fundo da minha mente eu já estou pensando em promover outro espetáculo. Esta é basicamente a luta mais crucial na minha carreira. Não só estou transição de volta ao boxe, mas é minha primeira luta de volta de uma lesão na minha mão que deveria ter terminado a minha carreira. Em cima disso, É o primeiro mostrar a minha empresa já promoveu. Eu senti que a realização desta luta em Beach Haven foi uma ótima maneira de fazer algo diferente e especial para a comunidade local e para dar a volta a um lugar que eu ter começado muito com.”
Então, quando perguntado se este é o fim de sua carreira de MMA, Barrett é aberto a qualquer coisa.
“Eu honestamente não tenho pensado muito sobre MMA. Eu realmente quero manter o boxe, mas eu não fechar completamente a porta do MMA.
Barrett disse ser um lutador e um promotor não tem sido fácil como ele embarca em sua segunda aparição no ringue.
“Tem sido difícil lidar com todas as chamadas de telefone, e-mails, e planejamento, o tempo todo tentando se preparar para uma luta. Houve momentos em que eu estava fazendo o meu cardio manhã e eu estaria ao telefone enquanto trabalham fora gestão de negócios. À medida que a luta se aproximava, Eu tive que me esforçar para ter mais tempo para treinar e preparar-me. Era difícil manter o foco às vezes porque o meu adversário ficava mudando, e quando o último caiu e eles mencionaram Holdbrooks, Eu só disse sim para que eu pudesse lutar.”

Cotto Receives Honorary Title of “Athlete of the Year”

The NPRDP established the National Puerto Rican Day Parade Scholarship Awards Program to help promote the pursuit of higher education within the community.
