CARLTON, MN. (Mai 18, 2016) – Unbeaten cruiserweight contender Murat “Iron” Gassiev (23-0, 17 KOs) scored a sensational knockout victory over Jordan Shimmell (20-2, 16 KOs) i hovedturneringen av Premier Boxing Champions TOE til tå TIRS på FS1 og Boksing Champions på FOX DeportesTirsdag night from Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton, MN in the Otter Creek Event Center.
Gassiev delivered a powerful left hook that put Shimmell out on the mat and halted the cruiserweight title elimination bout immediately at 2:54 fra den første runden. Shimmell was able to move effectively for much of the round and had landed an early combination that got the attention of Gassiev.
The Russian fighter, who now trains in California with Abel Sanchez, was able to start working through the defense of Shimmell with his jab as the round wore on. The final blow came after Gassiev imitated a right hand and delivered the critical left hook while Shimmell was caught counter-punching.
The co-main event of the night saw local favorite Joey “Minnesota Ice” Abell (32-9, 30 KOs) deliver a dominant performance in knocking out previously unbeaten Wes Nofire (19-1, 15 KOs) in their heavyweight showdown.
The former title challenger bothered Nofire early and often from his southpaw stance and was successful with his left hand throughout the fight. Abell snuck in a strong right hook in round two that stunned Nofire before he delivered multiple left hooks to score the early knockdown.
Nofire tried to weather the storm but a big right hand from Abell again put Nofire down early in the third round. Nofire almost made it out of the round but Abell’s power in the left hand proved to be too much as a series of strong shots sent Nofire down for the final time before his corner stopped the fight.
Abell could hardly miss as he connected on 42 percent of his punches on his way to the stoppage at 2:12 av den tredje runden.
I åpnings bout, St. Louis heavyweight Stephan Shaw (7-0, 5 KOs) earned a shutout unanimous decision over Washington, D.C Danny Kelly (9-3-1, 8 KOs) in their six-round bout.
Shaw controlled the action with superior boxing skills and strong combinations throughout the fight. Kelly had some success targeting the body of Shaw but was unable to maintain a consistently effective attack.
The punch stats were in line with the judges’ scores of 60-54 as Shaw out landed Kelly 95 til 56 while connecting at 34 percent mark to Kelly’s 23 prosent.

“I was trying to set up the final punch. I imitated the right overhand so that I could come back with the left hook. It was a combination that we practiced.
“It wasn’t the most powerful punch but I snapped it pretty well. I was ready to keep going but that punch was enough.
“I’ve trained hard and been improving my skills. I’m going to work and get ready for my title shot.
“I am extremely happy he got up and I hope he is okay. I never want to hurt anybody; I just want to win the fight.”

“Jeg fikk fanget. Gassiev has power. It was a clean shot and I got hit, it is what it is.
“He’s a really good fighter with power. I’ll be back. It was a learning experience.”
JOEY ABELL
“I did this for myself. I wanted so see where I was at. I’m a different fighter when I have time to train.
“I’m going to give it some time to think about the next step. Right now I want to fight for the rest of my life, but if I got beat It would be different.
“This is exactly what I planned. I thought I might get him in the first round but I took my time. My punches were sharp. There were times in the past where I felt my timing was off but I’m in great shape so I wasn’t thinking about getting tired.”
WES NOFIRE
“I just didn’t get the shots I was looking for. I thought I was going to be able to back him up more with my jab. He stayed his distance and lunged in from out of range.
“One of the head butts caught me pretty good and I just couldn’t see what he was coming back with.
“The head butts were giving me problems and he followed up on me after them. He was a little stronger than I expected but I’ve been hit hard like that by other fighters.
“Jeg er skuffet. I trained really hard for the fight. I’ve never had a problem taking power before. It’s just one of those things that happens in everybody’s career, but I’ll be back.”
STEPHAN SHAW
“I felt great in there. It felt good to be victorious in my first fight on PBC. I fought a guy with a lot of experience and did what I had to do.
“I’m the best kept secret in America. That’s my motto.”
DANNY KELLY
“I started too late. I was working behind my jab but I didn’t do enough behind it. Jeg ga det meg alle.

Wilder is determined to prove he’s the No. 1 i verden. His current focus is his third title defense against Polish brawler Arthur Pin, but he doesn’t dismiss the constant chatter about title unification.

I think unifying the titles … Once you have that strong American heavyweight to unify the division, to hold all the titles, that’s when I feel true stardom will come. In a card already stacked with international talent with Szpilka and Glazkov, unbeaten Polish middleweight

A New York Golden Gloves champion, she turned pro in 2009 and was undefeated in her first 15 kamper. The 27-year-old traveled to Argentina in 2014 to win her lightweight world title via a sixth-round knockout of Maria Elena Maderna. A two-time New York Golden Gloves champion, Kownacki had a big 2015, notching four victories including knockouts of Maurenzo Smith and Randy Easton. Born in Lomza, Polen, the 26-year-old now calls Brooklyn home. He is opposed by the 24-year-old D.C.-native Kelly, who has won three fights in a row.

Allentown, PA (Februar 21, 2015)–I løpet av de siste årene, tungvekt Paul Koon (2-0, 1 KO) har vært ryktet å slå profesjonelle på ulike kort i Philadelphia-området.
Hver gang han besluttet å lø delta i World Series of Boxing.
Endelig siste Oktober 4, Koon ble profesjonell med en stans i løpet av Hector Hodge og på November 20, Koon fulgte opp med en fire-runde enstemmig beslutning i løpet av Yohan Banker.
Disse kampene var i Connecticut og California henholdsvis og i kveld på Econo Lodge i Allentown, han tar på Rex Harris(1-0-2) av Wilkes-Barre, PA i Koon første område utseende.
At 4-round bout vil være en del av en ni bout kort fremmet av Kongens Kampanjer.
I hovedturneringen, Frank De Alba (14-1-2, 5 KO s) Reading, PA vil ta på Jose Bustos (7-2-3, 4 KO s) Ciudad Juarez, Mexico i en 8-runde kamp for UBF All Amerika Jr. Lettvektstittel.
Koon of Philadelphia har jobbet hardt og er ute etter å sette på en god prestasjon.

He has become a prospect on everyone’s radar and denne lørdagen natt, Jr. Lettvekt Frank De Alba will look for his 13th consecutive victory when he takes on Jose Bustos for UBF Jr. Lettvekt Alle Amerika tittel i main event på Econo Lodge.

De Alba of Reading, PA har en rekord på 14-1-2 i og i tillegg til 12. strake seirer, han er ubeseiret i sin siste 14 endene.
De Alba, som vant en 8-runde enstemmig beslutning i løpet av Jesse Carridine siste Oktober 4, gikk rett tilbake i gym kort tid etter at bout.

“Jeg vet ingenting om ham annet enn han er fra Mexico. Mexican fighters always come to fight, så jeg vet det blir en spennende kamp.”

Allentown, PA (Februar 17, 2015)–Christian Molina hadde ikke mye av en amatør bakgrunn, men han har vært en rask studie og har blitt en av de beste utsiktene i Lehigh Valley.
Denne lørdagen han vil se til å gå til 4-0 når han tar på pro debuterte Stacey Anderson i en fire-runde Jr. Weltervekt bout på Econo Lodge i Allentown, PA og er fremmet av Kongens Kampanjer.
I hovedturneringen, Frank De Alba vil ta på en motstander for å bli navngitt i en 8-runde Jr. Lettvekt bout.
Molina, 27 år av Allentown, PA hadde bare fem amatør bouts men har kjørt av til en perfekt 3-0 mark med imponerende vinner over Dominic Goode, Jordan Morales og Josue Rivera og han ser nå ut for en lignende ytelse mot Anderson.
“Trening har gått bra. Anderson is a new opponent. All I know is that he has an MMA background,” Said Molina.
“Jeg trener hardt jeg gjøre ofrene til å vinne. I look to box and I look to fight. I just do whatever it takes to fight that opponent.”
Den southpaw har allerede bygget opp en fin følgende og ønsker å begeistre fansen på lørdag natt.
“Jeg vil bare takke alle fans og spesielt de spanske fans som vil komme ut og støtter meg denne lørdagen.”

Super mellom John Magda (8-0, 6 KO s) av Rutherford, NJ vil ta på Jer Williams (3-4) av West Monroe, LA

Ivan Golub (5-0, 4 KO s) av Brooklyn, NY vil ta på David Lopez (4-11-3, 1 KO) i en Jr. Mellomvekt bout.
Danny Kelly (6-1-1, 5 KO s) av Washington, DC vil ta på Kevin Franklin (6-10, 3 KO s) av i en tungvekt bout.
I fire-runde bouts:
Robert Irizarry (2-0-1) av Cherry Hill, NJ vil kjempe Benjamin Burgos (2-10-1) av Mount Pocono, PA i et Fjær bout. Dette bout er en omkamp av en bout fra mai hvor Irizarry vant en enstemmig avgjørelse.
Christopher Booker av Philadelphia vil gjøre sin pro debut mot Andrew Sosa(0-4-1) av Farmers Branch, TX jeg i en mellomvekt bout.
Paul Koon (2-0, 1 KO av Philadelphia vil kjempe Rex Harris (1-0-2) av Wikes-Barre, PA, i en tungvekt bout.
