NEW YORK – May 15, 2018 – Combate Americas today announced a live Univision Deportes Network (UDN) telecast (11 ET p.m/8 p.m. PT) autem, as well as one new matchup for its ‘Mexico vs. El Mundo’ Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event from Auditorio Municipal Tijuana in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico on Friday, May 18.

 

The nine-bout fight card will be highlighted by matchups between an assembly of top rising stars from Mexico and opponents from four other countries – the U.S., Hispania, Brazil and Chile – including a previously announced, much-anticipated featherweight (145 libras) showdown between knockout artists Marco Antonio “La Roca” Elpidio (7-2-1) Mexicopolis, Dissimiliter Mexici et Andres “The Bullet” Quintana (13-2) de Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S.

 

 

The 90-minute telecast will immediately follow the live stream of the complete preliminary bout card on

www.UnivisionDeportes.com, incipientibus ab Hierosolyma 10 p.m. ATQUE/7 p.m. PT.

The live telecast will include another previously announced, Bantamweight (135 libras) matchup between 22-year-old phenom Christian “El Taylon” Quiñonez (10-2) of Tijuana, and undefeated rising star Vinicius “Lok Dog” De Oliveira (9-0) of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande Do Sul, Brazil.

 

 

In other live televised action announced today, a women’s strawweight (115 libras) matchup will see Georgina Almeraz (3-1) de Chihuahua, Dissimiliter Mexici et Mireia Garcia (0-0) of Barcelona, Spain make their respective Combate Americas debuts against one another.

 

 

Garcia, an unbeaten professional kickboxer and a protégé of “COPA COMBATE” tournament semifinalist Marc “Lufo” Gomez, will also make first start under MMA rules.

 

 

The preliminary bout card will be highlighted by a lightweight (155 libras) contest between hard-hitting Rodrigo “Kazula” Vargas (9-2) of Mexico City will collide with seasoned battler Mike “El Cucuy” De La Torre (14-8 (1)) San Diego, Ill., U.S.

 

 

Another lightweight bout pitting Mexico against the U.S. erit pluma Alex “Bam” Velasco (7-1) of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, squaring off against fellow, aggressive striker Daniel “D-Rod” Rodriguez (5-1) de Los Angeles, Ill., U.S.

 

 

Recently signed, Invictus ergo ortu stella Eduardo “Cyborg” Torres (9-0) of Santiago, Chile, will make his Combate Americas debut against Kevin “Badass” Amador (9-8) of Ensenada in a bantamweight affair.

 

 

Twelve-time national judo champion Vanesa “Chiquitina” Rico (3-3) from Alicante, Hispania, will make her return to La Jaula against fellow Combate Americas veteran Yajaira “Shoko” Romo (3-3) of Monterrey, Mexico.

 

Jair “El Lupe” Perez (0-0) of Monterrey will make his professional debut against Jesus Blanco (0-1) of Tijuana at lightweight.

After Batara of Las Vegas, Nev. missed weight by one pound (107.4 libras) after the contracted, one-pound allowance was considered, an agreement was made between her and Granados (4-2), who weighed in at 105.5 libras, to proceed with the bout as planned.

The victor of the matchup between the 23-year-old Batara of Las Vegas, Nev. and the 29-year-old Granados of Corpus Christi, Texas – both unbeaten to date in La Jaula – will represent the U.S. against ferocious finisher Lisbeth “Coneja” Lopez Silva (5-3) in the first-ever Combate Americas Pan-Regional championship bout in February 2018.

The event takes place just three weeks after Combate Americas made its live debut on Telemundo Deportes on Saturday, Nov. 11 with “COPA COMBATE,” an epic affair headlined by a one-night, eight-man bantamweight (135 libras) tournament that awarded its winner – Levy Saul Marroquin (11-2) of Monterrey, Mexico – a grand prize of $100,000.

NEW YORK – August 4, 2016 - Combate Americas, primum quemque U.S. Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise, today announced new main event and co-main event matchups for its 10-bout fight card that will air live on UFC FIGHT PASS® from The Exchange in Los Angeles, Ill. onThursday, Aug. 11 at 9:30 p.m. ATQUE/6:30 p.m. PT.

Streaking star John "Sexy Sexy" Castaneda (10-2) will step in for Erick Sanchez, who suffered a staph infection, and face off with Angel “Tito” Cruz(5-2) in tenui labor (145 libras) main event at “Aspira A Mas Presents Combate Americas: CombateOCHO,” while four-time UFC® veteran Danny “The Gremlin” Martinez will replace a hurt (knee injury) Jonathan Martinez(19-7) in the flyweight (125 libras) co-main event contest with Benjamin Vinson (8-3-1).

In addition, the planned women’s atomweight (105 libras) matchup between Kyra "Mogwai" Batara (5-3) atque Lisa Ellis (15-10) has been scrapped due to a hamstring injury sustained by Batara.
