NEW YORK – Octubre 27, 2017 – TS-1 Promotions announced today that it will bring the Combate Americas live Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) television series to the state of Texas for the first time ever with a stacked, 12-bout event at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio on Divendres, Desembre. 1.

“TS-1 Promotions is thrilled to debut the incredibly fast-growing Combate Americas live television event series in the great state of Texas,” said TS-1 Promotions CEO Greg Bloom. “We are going to deliver to fans a memorable night of MMA action featuring some of the fastest rising stars in the sport, including several of San Antonio’s hottest, young prospects.”

In the women’s atomweight (105 lliura) main event and long-awaited grudge match, Eddie Bravo protégé Kyra "Mogwai" Batara (6-4) s'enfrontaran amb Paulina “Firefox” Granados (4-2).

The 23-year-old Batara of Las Vegas, Nevada, a former high school cheerleader turned grappling expert, is coming off a stellar, segona ronda (3:46) submission of 12-time Spanish national judo champion Vanesa Rico at “Combate Clasico” in Miami, Fla. a Juliol 27.

Fins a la data, Batara is unbeaten in Combate Americas television action, winning all four of her bouts – three by way of submission.

Granados is a 29-year-old native of Corpus Christi, Texas, now fighting out of San Diego, Califòrnia. where she trains with a handful of the world’s top fighters.

Granados will look to notch her third straight victory on December 1.

Andres Quintana vs. Rey Trujillo

Quintana is a heavy-handed, 26-year-old rising star fighting out of Roswell, N.m. He is aiming for his third consecutive victory after earning back-to-back unanimous decisions over Urijah Faber protegit Erick Sánchez and Mexican contender Levy Saul Marroquin a Febrer 16 and June 30, respectivament.

Nine of Quintana’s twelve career wins, fins ara, han arribat a través de (T)KO.

The 35-year-old Trujillo of Houston, Texas is a battle-tested, eight-year veteran of professional MMA.

Palacios, a 30-year-old knockout artist, is riding a six-fight win streak, and is tied with Castaneda for the most wins – six – held under the Combate Americas promotional umbrella. In his last two starts, Palacios earned decisions over UFC veterans Román Salazar i Chris Avila, respectivament.

The eight competitors will be separated into four tournament brackets, with the top four fighters given seeded positions based on their worldwide rankings.

Quarterfinal stage opponents for the four fighters will be determined based on a lottery ball drawing that will take place on a date to be announced.

As Global Head of Sales & Partnerships for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Pine forged and developed a host of relationships for the publicly traded, worldwide leading professional sports entertainment brand, with leading consumer electronic, retail and food brands, including Norelco, XBOX, Footlocker, KMART and General Mills.

Prior to his time with WWE, Pine led and oversaw the development of globally renowned agency IMG’s NCAA collegiate sports. His time at IMG was proceeded as IRONMAN Global Chief Sales Officer & Eight Years @ Turner Broadcasting.

A second women’s atomweight matchup at “Combate Americas: El Grito en La Jaula” will pit two professional debut competitors – Brenda Enriquez (0-0) of Salt Lake City, Utah against Shyann Farmer (0-0) Alamogordo, N.m.

The 28-year-old Enriquez is coming off a stellar amateur career during which she amassed a 7-1 registre, amb 6 of her victories coming by way of either (T)KO o submissió.

Former MMA world champion becomes the first Mexican American woman In history to lead matchmaking efforts for a combat sports franchise

NEW YORK – Juliol 13, 2017 – Combate Americas has named retired, former women’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) campió del món Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc, a Fight Director for the Hispanic sports and media franchise.

The appointment makes Rivera-Calanoc the first Mexican American woman in history to be charged with leading recruitment and matchmaking efforts for a combat sports organization.

Rivera-Calanoc has made history with Combate Americas twice before, competing in both the franchise’s first-ever, live televised U.S. event in Las Vegas in 2015, as well as its first live televised event in Mexico last January with Tate in her corner.

A 10-year veteran of professional MMA competition, Rivera-Calanoc was ranked amongst the top 10 fighters in the world in three different weight classes – flyweight (125 lliura), strawweight (115 lliura) and atomweight (105 lliura) – at three different points in her career.

A l'agost 23, 2008, Rivera-Calanoc was crowned a world champion after defeating Shawn Tamaribuchi by way of unanimous decision in a flyweight contest in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Making his return to the Combate Americas cage La Jaula is top-ranked bantamweight (135 lliura) star Ricky "El Gallero" Palacios (8-1), who will move up to the featherweight (145 lliura) division for the second time in his Combate Americas career to face his toughest test to date – two-time Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran and Nate Diaz protegit, Chris Avila (5-4) de Stockton, Califòrnia.

The 24-year-old Avila of the famed Cesar Gracie Fight Team makes his debut in La Jaula following a pair of hard-fought decisions under the UFC.

In bantamweight action, the red-hot Marcelo “Pitbull” Rojo (11-4) aims for his fourth consecutive win and second straight inside La Jaula following his blistering, technical knockout win over Ivan Hernandez “Brasil” Flores at Combate 12 last March in Tijuana, Mèxic.

The 29-year-old Argentinian will be paired off against Puerto Rican sensation Billy Molina (5-3), 30, making his Combate Americas debut after last month’s return to action in Bayamon.

Joining the featherweight (145 lliura) division for “Combate Clásico” is undefeated Venezuelan finisher Alberto Montes (3-0).
