Hoje mais cedo, NEF announced the addition of an amateur middleweight fight to the card.Carlton Charles(3-2) vai se reunirJosh Banks (0-0) com um peso de luta de 185 libras.

Carlton Charles, now representing Recon Fitness based in Westbrook, Maine, was a standout athlete on the football field. He played for Windham High School in Windham, Maine and later coached the team to a state championship as an assistant in 2009. Charles went on to play for the Division 1 University of Maine Black Bears.

He made his MMA debut in the summer of 2017 at “NEF 30” with a blistering knockout of Josh Jones (2-4) só 23 seconds into the first round. Charles would follow up that performance with a 12 second knockout of Delmarkis Edwards in early 2018 at “NEF 32.”

After making an unsuccessful challenge for the NEF Amateur Welterweight Title against Duncan Smith (5-3) at “NEF 34,” Charles picked up a victory in his last fight on a card in the Granite State in the spring of 2019. The fight against Banks will mark Charles’ return to cage action after a 28-month absence.

“Cara, I’m just excited to get back in there and with NEF making its first appearance in NH, there’s no better time,” said Charles. “It’s been awhile since anyone has been able to get the opportunity to compete, so I feel blessed with this chance. Para mim, it’s been over two years now due to an injury in 2019 and then the pandemic shutting other opportunities down. PARA DIVULGAÇÃO IMEDIATA: Lewiston, Maine (Maio 22, 2019) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) retorna ao Androscoggin Bank Colisee no sábado, Junho 22 com seu próximo evento de artes marciais mistas, “NEF 39: TODOS OS AMERICANOS.” Hoje cedo, a promoção da luta anunciou a adição de uma luta pelo título amador ao card. Carlton Charles (3-2) vai enfrentar Jordan Norman (2-1) para o cinturão de peso médio amador vago.

Antes de entrar no MMA, Carlton Charles deixou sua marca no campo de futebol. Ele jogou pela Windham High School em Windham, Maine e mais tarde levaram a equipe a um título de classe A como assistente técnico. Charles passou a jogar como zagueiro na University of Maine Black Bears. Ele fez sua estreia na NEF no verão de 2017 com uma vitória por nocaute de 23 segundos. Jordan Norman já percorreu um longo caminho desde sua estreia no NEF em junho passado. Ele perdeu naquela noite por nocaute no primeiro assalto, mas Norman voltaria atirando em suas próximas duas lutas. Ele ganhou uma decisão dividida sobre John Assam (0-1) último outono, e no mês passado terminou Greg Ishihara (0-1) na segunda rodada. Norman representa o Bad Little Falls Dojo.

“Estou honrado pela oportunidade de entrar na jaula do NEF e competir pelo título amador contra alguém como Carlton,” exclamou Norman. “Ele e eu faremos um show incrível para o público de Lewiston. Portland, Maine (Junho 17, 2018) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) made its return to Portland, Maine on Saturday night with the fight promotion’s latest mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 34: Home of the Brave.” A jam-packed house of fight fans took in the action as NEF fighters delivered the non-stop excitement from bell to bell in what many are calling one of the best events the company has ever produced.

 

 

 

On a card featuring a total of 18 lutas, os jurados’ scorecards were not needed until the thirteenth bout of the evening. Antes disso, the early card featured a plethora of exciting finishes including a pair of D’Arce Chokes courtesy of Angelo Rizzitello (2-1) and Henry Clark (4-4) and highlight-reel knockouts by Cody Rolling (5-5) and Zac Lawrence (1-0). Thirteen of the evening’s fights ended in the first round.

 

 

 

Came Arnold (4-0) and Killian Murphy (1-1) waged an absolute war for the vacant amateur bantamweight title in what made history as the first amateur fight in Maine to ever go beyond the old three-round limit. Arnold claimed the title with a fourth-round knockout in a bout that will certainly be a contender for “Luta do Ano” this December when voting begins.

 

 

 

Not to be outdone, Carlton Charles (2-2) and Duncan “The Highlander” Ferreiro (3-2) took their amateur welterweight title fight into the fourth round as well. Smith took the gold home after putting Charles out with a rear-naked choke.

 

 

 

On the professional side of the card, Young’s MMA teammates “O” Ryan Sanders (16-9) and Aaron “Implacável” Lacey (5-2) were in action. Sanders submitted Vince McGuiness (5-8) with just seconds remaining in the first round while Lacey lost a unanimous decision to Da’Mon Blackshear (5-1) no evento principal.

 

 

 

NEF announced that its next MMA event, “NEF 35: Wicked Season,” would originate from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine on September 8, 2018. NEF RELEASES FIGHT CARD FOR RETURN TO PORTLAND ON JUNE 16

Portland, Maine (Maio 18, 2018) –Earlier today, Lutas da Nova Inglaterra (NEF) released the official card for its upcoming return to Aura in Portland, Maine. The mixed-martial-arts event, intitulado “NEF 34: Home of the Brave,” is scheduled to take place on Saturday night, Junho 16, 2018 com uma campainha de 7:00 pm EDT.

 

 

 

The main event will feature two rising East Coast prospects when Bangor, Maine’s own Aaron “Implacável” Lacey (5-1) meets Fayetteville, Da Carolina do Norte Da’Mon “The Diamond” Blackshear (4-1) em um ataque pluma. Lacey is coming off a dominant win over veteran Josh Parker (6-9) no início deste ano, while Blackshear looks to rebound from the first loss of his professional career last August.

 

 

 

Lacey’s Young’s MMA teammate “O” Ryan Sanders (15-9) will see action in the co-main event against Tampa, Flórida Vince McGuiness (5-7). Sanders é o atual campeão dos leves do NEF MMA Pro. The fight with McGuiness will be a non-title affair.

 

 

 

Rounding out the professional portion of the card will be yet another Young’s MMA competitor in the form of Carl Langston (0-1) who is scheduled to rematch The Choi Institute’s Ernesto Ornelas (3-7) in a battle of Portland fan-favorites. Langston and Ornelas initially met last month at “NEF 33” with Ornelas coming out on top via unanimous decision. Langston immediately requested a rematch blaming his performance on nerves surrounding his pro debut. Ornelas obliged and has promised to finish Langston this time out, leaving no room for question.

 

 

 

The amateur portion of the card will be headlined by a pair of title fights. Undefeated Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) prospecto Came Arnold (3-0) vai enfrentar Michael Crespo (3-3) of First Class MMA for the vacant NEF MMA Amateur Bantamweight Championship. In the second title fight, Carlton Charles (2-1) of the Charles Fighting Family and Berserkers MMA meets Duncan “The Highlander” Ferreiro (2-2) of Evolution Athletix to crown a new NEF MMA Amateur Welterweight Champion. Both fights are scheduled for five three-minute rounds – a first in the NEF amateur division as all previous title fights had been scheduled for three three-minute rounds.

 

 

 

Three women’s bouts will take place on the amateur card. Brianne Genschel (0-1) of First Class MMA and the Foundry will take on Tampa, Flórida Amanda Gallo (1-1) while Genschel’s First Class MMA teammate Chelsea Tucker (0-2) faces the debuting Glory Watson (0-0) de MMA de Young, e Carol Linn Powell (0-1) atenda Sarah Matulis (1-0) of the Outlet. SECOND TITLE FIGHT ANNOUNCED FOR NEF 34 IN PORTLAND

Portland, Maine (Maio 2, 2018) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) returns to Aura in Portland, Maine com seu próximo evento de artes marciais mistas, “NEF 34: Home of the Brave,” no sábado noite, Junho 16, 2018. Hoje cedo, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur welterweight championship bout to the card. Carlton Charles (2-1) está programado para assumir Duncan “The Highlander” Ferreiro (2-2) for the vacant NEF amateur 170-pound title. The fight is set for five three-minute rounds.

Carlton Charles burst onto the NEF scene last summer with a 23-second technical knockout of then-undefeated Josh Jones (2-4) on a card in Bangor, Maine. No início deste ano, Charles returned to the NEF cage with a 12-second dismantling of Delmarkis Edwards (0-1). The former fullback for the University of Maine Black Bears will get his first shot at MMA gold on Junho 16, but he is no stranger to championships. After playing for Windham High School, Charles led the football team to a Class A state title as an assistant coach.

“I’m really excited and blessed for this opportunity to fight for the NEF amateur welterweight title,” disse Charles. “I think it’s a big important step forward for my experience as an amateur and fighting career. This fight is against a great opponent that I know will, e é, training hard and will leave it all in the cage. I know my coaches and family will have me ready for this fight, and I’m looking forward to us putting on a show for Portland!”

Duncan Smith made his NEF debut last month at “NEF 33” in Portland with an impressive standing guillotine submission of Taylor Bartlett (0-1) na primeira rodada. Smith had previously competed for other promotions throughout the region in MMA and kickboxing bouts since 2014. He is a member of Evolution Athletix based in Saco, Maine.

“Carlton and I are both looking to go pro and climb up the ladder,” disse Smith. “Fights like this is what it’s all about. I have the upmost respect for my opponent, but I have all the skills to win. Other than getting clipped, this fight is already won.”

Portland, Maine (Abril 4, 2018) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) returns to Aura in Portland on Abril 14, 2018 com o próximo evento misto de artes marciais da promoção luta, “NEF 33: Riptide.” Hoje cedo, NEF announced the addition of an amateur middleweight bout to the card. Marca “Pockets” Gardner (1-0) vai se reunir Brandon Schwink (0-0) com um peso de luta de 185 quilos.

 

 

Mark Gardner impressed many in attendance at his debut fight last November in Portland. Gardner took on top middleweight prospect Carlton Charles (2-1) at Aura. He absorbed everything Charles threw at him in the first round, eventually scoring a technical knockout victory in the second. Gardner is a member of The Academy of Mixed Martial Arts based in Westbrook, Maine where he trains under early MMA pioneer Jay Jack. Gardner will return to the cage after a setback earlier this year when an opponent pulled out on him prior to a scheduled bout at “NEF 32.”

 

 

“I’m pumped to get back into the cage in April for this next fight,” said Gardner. “I’ve been training hard, e eu não posso esperar. It should be a really fun fight.”

 

 

Gardner’s opponent, Brandon Schwinck, is a 43-year-old, lifelong martial artist from Windham, Maine. He has been a regular contestant in grappling, karate and kickboxing tournaments across the state over the years. Schwinck has trained with several different gyms, including The Academy where he worked with Gardner on the mats. “I’m familiar with the MMA fighter and grappler, Mark Gardner,” said Schwinck when reached for comment. “We used to train together at the Academy of MMA a few years ago. I respect Mr. Gardner’s strengths and abilities on the ground, and he has an amazing team to prepare him for this fight. I recall me and Mark being fairly well-matched on the ground. We’ve submitted each other on the mats. Contudo, he’s a tough, faminto, young buck with lots of weapons at his disposal, so I won’t take him lightly. I know Mark’s surely stepped-up his striking game and stand-up over the last few years, but I’ve been a fighter all my life and feel the bout will be competitive. I believe my NEF debut will be far from a cake walk, though I’m always prepared to put up an exciting fight in any venue I enter. I have no intentions of letting Mark walk over me and I’ll do my best to stop him. Neither of us will achieve a victory easily. I’m looking forward to competing against this dangerous, talentoso lutador, be it on the ground or standing. I think it will be a great match-up. I’m totally psyched about being part of NEF 33, and in the end, may the best man win.”

Lewiston, Maine (Janeiro 19, 2018) - Na noite anterior à Liga Nacional de Futebol (NFL) entrega o seu 2017-2018 final de temporada, Lutas da Nova Inglaterra (NEF) retornará ao Androscoggin Bank Colisee em Lewiston pela primeira vez em oito meses como a promoção da luta apresenta “NEF 32: Super Sábado.” E enquanto os fãs de futebol da Nova Inglaterra terão que esperar até neste domingo Jogo do campeonato AFC para descobrir se seus amados Patriots vão jogar no Super Bowl, os fãs de artes marciais mistas da área aprenderam hoje qual de seus favoritos vai competir no “NEF 32” como executivos de promoção lançaram o cartão de luta completo para o 3 de fevereiro evento.

Lacey sofreu a primeira derrota de sua carreira profissional em novembro, quando uma luta que ele estava prestes a vencer foi interrompida por um médico devido a um corte na cabeça de Lacey. Parker vai tentar continuar seu recente sucesso na jaula do MMA após as recentes vitórias sobre Andre Belcarris (0-2) e Derek Shorey (4-9).

 

 

CJ Ewer (3-0) pretende fazer história ao se tornar o primeiro competidor a realizar campeonatos do NEF simultaneamente em várias categorias de peso. Ewer é o atual campeão dos médios do NEF Pro. Em “NEF 32,” ele tem a oportunidade de capturar o título NEF Pro Welterweight quando ele encontra Kemran Lachinov (5-2) para a correia vaga.

 

 

Também na ação profissional do meio-médio estará Microfone “O Bigode” Hansen (5-8) e Jesse “O Viking” Erickson (9-7) em uma luta faturada como “The Berserker vs. O Viking.” Hansen e Erickson desenvolveram uma rivalidade como treinadores das academias locais Berserkers MMA e Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ), respectivamente.

 

 

Falando nisso, Nate Boucher (2-1), um produto da CMBJJ, e Ryan Burgess (2-2) de Berserkers MMA será a manchete da parte amadora do card da luta. Os pesos-mosca, ex-companheiros do time de luta livre da Mountain Valley High School, se envolveram em uma recente guerra de palavras indo para o confronto. O vencedor estará na fila para uma chance pelo título de peso mosca amador ainda nesta primavera.

 

 

2017 NEF “Rookie of the Year” Jayda “Lil Killah” Colherão (1-0) retorna para a gaiola em 3 de fevereiro para conhecer o da Flórida Amanda Gallo (0-1). Portland, Maine (Agosto 31, 2017) Fights -Nova Inglaterra (NEF) fará sua tão esperada estreia em Portland emSexta-feira, Novembro 3, 2017 na Aura com “NEF 31: O Porto Velho.” Hoje cedo, a promoção da luta anunciou a adição de uma luta amador de artes marciais mistas ao card. Carlton Charles (1-0) vai assumir Nate Evans (0-0) at a catchweight of 175-pounds.

Carlton Charles shocked the Maine MMA community earlier this month with his stunning first-round technical knockout of Josh Jones (2-1) em “NEF 30” em Bangor. Jones had looked indestructible to that point, only needing 24-seconds to finish his first two opponents combined. Por sua vez, it took Charles only 23-seconds to polish off Jones in his amateur debut. Era, de fato, one of the most impressive debuts in NEF history.

Charles’ athleticism comes as no surprise, contudo, to those who know him. He excelled in football for Windham High School. As an assistant coach, Charles later lead Windham to a Class A state championship. He went on to play for the NCAA Division I University of Maine Black Bears. Atualmente, Charles trains MMA with Charles Family Fighting alongside his older brother, and seven-fight NEF veteran, Nate Charles.

“I’m real excited about the opportunity to fight in Portland,” disse Charles. “Not often have we seen MMA in Portland, so it’s definitely going to get a lot of attention. It’s a bit closer to home than Bangor was, so I feel like I’ll have a lot of support there. I hope to put on a good show and look to build on the success of my first fight. I know my opponent will be tough so I am training hard to be prepared.”

Nate Evans will be making his debut on 3 de novembro. Like Charles, Evans’ background is in football. He was a star quarterback for Sumter Central High School in Livingston, Alabama. Also like Charles, Evans has begun training and combat sports and is hoping to make a successful transition from the gridiron to the MMA cage.

PARA DIVULGAÇÃO IMEDIATA: Bangor, Maine (Junho 28, 2017) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF) retorna ao Cross Insurance Center no sábado noite, Agosto 5, 2017 com o próximo evento misto de artes marciais da promoção luta, “NEF 30: Rumble em Bangor.” Hoje cedo, NEF announced the addition of an amateur middleweight contest to the fight card. Josh Jones (2-0) will take on the debuting Carlton Charles (0-0) com um peso de luta de 185 quilos.

It has taken Jones a mere 24-seconds combined to polish off his first two opponents. His four-second victory over Anthony Spires (0-3) earlier this month set an all-time NEF record for fastest knockout. Video of the punch went viral almost immediately, giving Jones worldwide notoriety with exposure on major sports websites like Bleacher Report.

Prior to joining First Class MMA of Brunswick, Maine, Jones was known for his exploits on the basketball court. He led Erskine Academy to a class B Maine state championship in 2004. Mais tarde, as a senior at Husson University in Bangor, Jones averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds per game and was named “player of the year” by the Maine Basketball Writers and Coaches Association. He was drafted by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Developmental League (NBDL).

For all his accomplishments on the hardwood and the MMA cage, Jones is not resting on his laurels. His focus now is on the future and his upcoming fight on Agosto 5 with Carlton Charles.

“Carlton Charles is another opponent that I have to respect and I know my teammates and coaches at First Class will have me prepared for everything,” disse Jones. “I am trying to be well-rounded so that I can win anywhere in the cage. I look forward to another opportunity to showcase my talents.”

Where Jones excelled on the basketball court, his opponent Carlton Charles was a star on the football field. Charles played for Windham High School and was later an assistant coach of the team when they won a class A Maine state championship in 2009. He would go on to play for the University of Maine Black Bears Division I NCAA team. Charles had a career season in 2011, playing in all 13 games for the Black Bears that year with a series of receptions and special teams tackles to his credit.

The Charles family name will be familiar to longtime NEF fans as Carlton is the younger brother of MMA and boxing veteran Nate Charles. Carlton has been training with Nate for his MMA debut as a member of team Charles Family Fighting.

“I’m just really excited, thankful and extremely blessed for the opportunity to fight,” said Carlton Charles when reached for comment. “It’s always been something that I’ve wanted to do, but with football it was hard to be able to find the time to train. I’ve seen the videos of Josh’s first two fights and it is impressive what he has been able to do in the short amount of time that he has been training. I feel it should be a fun matchup with both of our athletic backgrounds and hopefully we can put on a great fight.”
