Former IBF/WBO Minimumweight World Champion Francisco “Chihuas” Rodriguez, Jr. (22-4-1, 14 KOs) fought late replacement RolandoEl DuendeGusman (15-3, 9 KOs), of Argentina, in the 12-round WBC Flyweight World Title Eliminator. Rodriguez’ ursprünglichen Gegner, “Lil” Oscar Cantu (14-1, 1 KO), was injured in a car accident only days before the scheduled event.
Rodriguez, 23, won his first world title in 2014, stopping previously unbeaten Merlito Sabillo (23-0-1), the defending WBO minimumweight title fight in Mexico, in der 10thRunde. Later that same year, Rodriguez successfully defended his WBO crown with a 12-round unanimous decision over IBF minimumweight title holder Katsunari Takayama (27-6) to become unified world champion. Rodriguez vacated both titles in late 2014.

The event took place Feb. 4 at Grand Oasis Cancun the Hotel Complex, Cancuns EINZIGES ultimatives All-Inclusive-Unterhaltungsresort, Hier finden alle Serienveranstaltungen statt.
The main event and co-feature showcased a pair of world-class Mexican fighters, former minimumweight world champion Francisco “Chihuas” Rodriguez and No.1 world rated lightweight DanteCrazyJardon, in critical matches that had immediate world title fight implications.
The main event was a scheduled 10-round flyweight bout between Rodriguez (20-4-1, 13 KOs) und Hajime Nagai (14-7-2, 4 KOs), von Japan. Rodriguez captured the World Boxing Organization (WBO-) minimumweight title March 22, 2014 in Mexiko, by way of a 10-round technical knockout over previously unbeaten Merlito Sabillo (23-0-1), who was making his third title defense.

“Cancun Boxen” September 24 replay featuring Mexican KO artist Jhonny Gonzalez to air this Wednesday at 10 p.m. PT on CBS Sports Network

CANCUN, Mexiko (Oktober 10, 2016) – The replay of the August 24th “Cancun Boxen” Karte, presented by Pepe Gomez Boxing in association with Neon Star Media, will air this Wednesday night (Oktober. 12, ab 10 p.m. PT / 1 a.m. UND, auf CBS Sports Network. Encore presentations will be Friday, Oktober. 21 (7 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. UND) und freitag, Oktober. 28 (1 a.m. PT / 10 p.m. UND).

July 23rd “Cancun Boxen” Chavez vs.. Moreno women’s world title fight To air tonight at 10 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network

CANCUN, Mexiko (August 4, 2016) – American boxing fans will have a rare opportunity to watch a women’s world title fight on national television as “Cancun Boxen,” presented by Pepe Gomez Boxing in association with Neon Star Media, wird Luft heute Abend (Donnerstag, August. 4), ab 10 p.m. UND / 7 p.m. PT, auf CBS Sports Network.

The main event was a scheduled 10-round World Boxing Council (WBC) female world flyweight title fight between Mexico City rivals, Titelverteidiger Jessica “Kika” Chavez (26-4-3, 4 KOs) und Herausforderer EsmeraldaJoya” Moreno (33-8-1. 11 KOs), in a rematch of their February 19, 2011 Kampf, in which Moreno won a 10-round unanimous decision.

In 2012, she won a 10-round decision over Naomi Togashi (10-0-1) for the WBC world light flyweight championship, followed by one title defense victory against Maricela Quintero (WDEC10). She has also been WBC Youth and WBC Silver light flyweight, Mexican bantamweight and light flyweight champion.
