On his recent training camp with Virgil Hunter:
“Virgil Hunter and I had a great final few days of training camp. All the sparring and training is finalized and now we are focused on making weight. My body feels rejuvenated and I’ll be at my best going into this fight.”
On facing former world champion Chad Dawson:
“Chad Dawson is a very skilled fighter who has won at the elite level. He’s a former world champion who’s been in the ring with the best fighters in the division. I know he will be a difficult challenge, but I’m confident I’ll be victorious.”
On the long layoff since his last fight:
“I felt it was a good thing to take some time off after my fight with Joe Smith. I was able to reflect on my performance, and make the move to start training with Virgil Hunter. I incorporated Pilates into my training regimen and I feel great. My mental focus is sharp. Everyone will see the improvement in my performance.”
On the current state of the light-heavyweight division:

Gary Russell, Jr.-Oscar Escandon Featherweight Title Match Postponed After Escandon Suffers Injury in Training

The Card Will Be Rescheduled for A Future Date
LAS VEGAS (Februar 28, 2017) – The featherweight championship match between Gary Russell Jr. and Oscar Escandon, für geplante Samstag, März 11 at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland, has been postponed after Escandon was injured in training, according to Escandon’s promoter Sampson Lewkowicz.
“Oscar suffered an injury to his back in training and he’ll be ready to go in April,” Lewkowicz said. “He’s very sorry for the delay in the fight, aber diese Dinge passieren beim Boxen. “We’re working with the venue and the network to find the earliest date that we can reschedule the show,” sagte Tom Brown von TGB Promotions. “I feel terrible for the fighters who have been training so hard and now have to wait. Gary is really disappointed, but he understands that injuries are all a part of the sport. But Gary will be ready to go on the rescheduled date.”
A new date for the fight will be announced shortly.

Former Undisputed Welterweight Champion to Provide Unique Insight as Garcia and Thurman Join Boxing Royalty in 147-Pound Unification

NEW YORK (Februar. 28, 2017) – Boxing Hall of Famer and former undisputed welterweight world champion Sugar Ray Leonard will join the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING on CBS broadcast team on Saturday, März 4 for GARCIA vs. THURMAN. The event will be headlined by the welterweight world championship unification bout between undefeated champions Danny Garcia und Keith Thurman. GARCIA vs. THURMAN is presented by Premier Boxing Champions and will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, home of BROOKLYN BOXING.

 

The live broadcast will be produced by SHOWTIME Sports® for the CBS Television Network and will air live on CBS from 9-11 p.m. UND / 6-8 p.m. PT. Garcia vs. Thurman will be the first world title unification bout in any weight division on live network television in over two decades and just the second primetime boxing presentation on CBS in nearly 40 Jahre. The first was headlined by a thrilling welterweight world championship fight between Thurman and Shawn Porter, ein 2016 Fight of the Year candidate and one of the most watched boxing events of the year.

 

With SHOWTIME boxing analyst and active prizefighter Paul Malignaggi scheduled to fight in London that evening, the broadcast seat opened up for Leonard. He will join SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING host Brian Custer, play-by-play voice Mauro Ranallo, International Boxing Hall of Fame analyst Al Bernstein and Sports Emmy® Award-winning reporter Jim Gray am Samstag.

 

Leonard made his professional boxing debut on CBS in 1977, less than one year after he won gold at the ‘76 Olympics in Montreal as part of what is considered the greatest American boxing team in Olympic history. He served as a boxing analyst for the network in the early 1980s during a temporary retirement, calling fights alongside CBS boxing announcer Tim Ryan and Hall of Fame trainer and analyst Gil Clancy, before eventually resuming his professional boxing career. Das Thema dieses Interviews ist Dayle Gallagher, der sich in den letzten Jahren als einer der aufregendsten jungen Kandidaten in der Boxszene von Merseyside erwiesen hat.

 

Am Freitag März 3rd Dayle wird in seinem bisher härtesten Kampf antreten, ein Sechser im Hanger 34 Club in Liverpool, gegen Belfasts Michael Kelly, ein bewährter Meisterschaftskämpfer, der im vergangenen Jahr gegen den Franzosen Mohamed Larabi um den WBF International-Titel und in jüngerer Zeit gegen den Schotten Lee McAllister um den WBF Inter-Continental-Gürtel gekämpft hat, sowie an großen Fernsehveranstaltungen in Russland und Schweden teilgenommen.

 

Bisher in vier Spielen ungeschlagen, zwei durch vorzeitige Unterbrechungen, gegen Alekseis Nikitenko, im Mai 2015 und Jak Johnson im Dezember 2016, und zwei durch feste Punkte Entscheidung, Marty Kayes im April 2016 und Phil Townley im Juni desselben Jahres, Dayle hat bereits die Aufmerksamkeit einiger der größten Namen des Sports auf sich gezogen, darunter der zweifache Weltmeister Amir Khan.

Danke, dass du heute mit mir gesprochen hast, Dayle, während sich dieses Interview offensichtlich auf Ihre berufliche Karriere bezieht, vor allem der bevorstehende Kampf gegen Michael Kelly auf 3. Ich habe mit dem Boxen im Alter von angefangen 14, Nachdem ich über ein Jahr trainiert hatte, hatte ich ein paar Inter-Club-Events, bevor ich meinen ersten Amateurkampf hatte, der kurzfristig um Liverpool, meine Heimatstadt, zu vertreten war, die gegen die walisische Nummer eins in seiner Heimatstadt Wrexham.

 

Ich erinnere mich immer daran, dass mein Trainer sagte, dass niemand gegen diesen Jungen kämpfen möchte, also schlag ihn aus, und in der zweiten Runde, nachdem er ihn zweimal niedergeschlagen hatte, hatte der Schiedsrichter keine andere Wahl, ihn zu stoppen.

 

Mir wurde von vielen Leuten gesagt, dass ich eine glänzende Zukunft in diesem Sport habe, aber mein Fokus lag damals darauf, ein professioneller Fußballspieler zu werden, was mit einer wirklich schweren Verletzung endete und danach 18 Monate Physio und Rehabilitation bei meiner Verletzung.

 

Ich bin endlich wieder zum Fitnessboxen gekommen und habe mich sofort wieder in den Sport verliebt, nach nur wenigen Monaten Training habe ich in Newcastle einen Wirtschaftskampf gemacht.

 

Nachdem ich gewonnen hatte, bekam ich viele gute Rückmeldungen und erkannte, dass ich anfangen muss, das ernst zu nehmen und zu sehen, wie weit ich im Sport gehen kann, Ich habe den Nordbereich gewonnen won, Britische und europäische Titel in der nicht lizenzierten Szene erkannten dann, dass ich mich der professionellen Seite des Spiels zuwenden muss.

 

 

Gianluca

Deine Profikarriere hat einen fliegenden Start hingelegt, mit einem Nachspielsieg über den Letten Aleksejs Nikitenko, erstens, wie hat es sich angefühlt, zum ersten Mal in den Profi-Rängen zu boxen und zweitens könnt ihr bitte eure Sicht auf den Kampf schildern?

 

Dayle

Obwohl ich schon oft im Ring war, mein Profidebüt hat mich nervöser gemacht als jeder andere Kampf, aber das gefühl hätte nicht besser sein können.

 

Der Kampf dauerte nicht lange 1 Minute, denke ich, musste der Schiedsrichter eingreifen und den Kampf beenden, was zu meinem ersten Sieg in den Profi-Rängen führte und ein Tag wird, den ich nie vergessen werde.

 

 

Gianluca

Es hat fast ein Jahr gedauert, bis du wieder im Ring warst, gegen Marty Kayes im April letzten Jahres, aber auch mit so langer Zeit zwischen den Kämpfen warst du in Topform, Marty nach Punkten schlagen. Wie hast du es geschafft, dich während dieser Zeit immer wieder motiviert zu halten, bitte gib den Lesern deine Sicht auf den Kampf?

 

Dayle

Es war sehr schwer, weil ich zu der Zeit viele Komplikationen mit meinem Promoter hatte und nicht kämpfen konnte und ich dachte, ich könnte nie wieder kämpfen, aber nach langer zeit raus, mein Bruder hat mir geholfen und mir einen Kampf verschafft.

 

Ich wusste viel über Marty und wusste, dass es nicht einfach sein würde, zu wissen, wie erfahren er war, Aber ich wollte allen zeigen, dass ich trotz all dieser Auszeit wie gut ich sein kann und habe den Sieg geholt und fühlte mich, als hätte ich nie Zeit außerhalb des Rings gehabt.

Dein nächster Kampf, gegen Phil Townley, kam nur ein paar Monate später und außerdem war ein historisches Ereignis in Übersee, das erste Pro Boxing Event, das jemals in Pakistan stattfand. Kannst du den Lesern bitte zunächst erzählen, wie es dazu kam und den Lesern nicht nur vom Kampf, sondern auch von der ganzen Erfahrung erzählen??

 

Dayle

Ich habe nicht wirklich geglaubt, dass es wahr ist, als ich zum ersten Mal von Pakistan erfuhr. Ich komme gerade aus meinem Urlaub zurück und telefoniere nächste Minute mit Amir Khans Onkel wegen eines möglichen Kampfes in Pakistan.

 

Obwohl ich wusste, dass ich nicht in meinem fittesten oder bevorzugten Gewicht war, konnte ich mir die Gelegenheit nicht entgehen lassen, also stieg ich nur für die Gelegenheit um zwei Gewichtsklassen auf.

 

Innerhalb von ein paar Stunden, nachdem mir der Kampf angeboten wurde, war ich in Bolton an der Amir Khan Academy und füllte alle meine Papiere und mein Visum aus und buchstäblich drei Tage später war in einem Flugzeug, das in Pakistan kämpfen wollte.

 

Als ich in Pakistan ankam, wurde ich wie ein König behandelt, meine Taschen wurden für mich gesammelt und getragen. Ich wurde von der pakistanischen Armee und Polizei begrüßt und zu meinem Hotel eskortiert.

 

Ich konnte den Menschen aus Pakistan nie genug dafür danken, wie sie meine Zeit dort so willkommen gemacht haben, Es ist ein großartiges Land mit großartigen Menschen, selbst wenn ich gegen sie gekämpft habe, haben sie meinen Namen geschrien, so sehr, dass ich dachte, ich wäre zurück in Liverpool mit einem heimischen Publikum.

 

Es war eine meiner erstaunlichsten Erfahrungen meines Lebens und eine, die ich für den Rest meines Lebens haben werde, als ich als allererster professioneller Boxer Geschichte schrieb, der auf pakistanischem Boden kämpfte und gewann.

Dein vierter Kampf, gegen Jak Johnson im Dezember und wieder auf heimischem Rasen, war sowohl dramatisch als auch ich würde für Sie antiklimatisch erwarten. Ich war dort, also wisse alles, was passiert ist, aber könntest du die Leser über die Dramen aufklären, die sich in dieser Nacht aus deiner Sicht abgespielt haben??

 

Dayle

Wenn Sie den ganzen Kampf gesehen haben, sah es so aus, als wäre ich am Ende nicht allzu glücklich, aber das liegt daran, dass ich ein Kämpfer bin und alles, was ich tun möchte, ist zu kämpfen.

 

Ich trainierte so hart und fühlte mich in der besten Form meines Lebens, als der Kampf vorbei war 30 Sekunden hat es mich geärgert, aber das ist nur etwas, was ich mit dem Boxen zu tun haben muss und Kämpfe können mit einem Schuss vorbei sein.

 

Nachdem ich es mir angesehen hatte, war ich mit meiner Leistung zufrieden und ich bin mit einer Schlagkraft gesegnet, die jemandem mit einem Schuss die Schulter aus der Fassung ziehen kann.

Am 3rd März Sie werden am Hanger wieder in Aktion sein 34 in Liverpool, wo Sie gegen den Iren Michael Kelly antreten müssen. Wissen Sie viel über Michael und seinen Kampfstil und wie sehen Sie diesen Kampf??

 

Dayle

Ich weiß um die Leute, gegen die er gekämpft hat und was er erreicht hat. Ich weiß, dass es ein harter Kampf werden wird, aber deshalb haben mein Team und ich um den Kampf gebeten.

 

Ich beobachte meine Gegner nicht bei alten Kämpfen, weil sie eine Box in einem völlig anderen Kampf aufdecken könnten, also finde ich sie gerne heraus, wenn ich drin bin.

 

Ich denke, es wird ein unterhaltsamer Kampf, den die Leute sehen können, aber ich sehe es mit einem Knockout enden, Wenn ich jemanden im Weltergewicht mit einem meiner Powershots in 8-Unzen-Handschuhen treffe, werde ich schockiert sein, wenn noch jemand vor mir steht.

Also aus den Kämpfen, die du bisher hattest, ob Profi oder nicht, was war dein Favorit und warum?

 

Dayle

Mein Favorit ist Pakistan, das Geschichte schreibt und mich selbst herausfordert, Es war ein großes Risiko, zwei Gewichtsklassen aufzusteigen, aber ich mag Herausforderungen und deshalb bin ich in diesem Kampfspiel, und auch vor dem zweifachen Weltmeister Amir Khan boxen und tolles Feedback von ihm bekommen, was besseres kann man sich nicht wünschen.

Wie würdest du deinen Kampfstil beschreiben?

 

Dayle

Mein Kampfstil unterscheidet sich meiner Meinung nach vom durchschnittlichen britischen Boxer, was mich meiner Meinung nach mehr hervorhebt, Ich bin ein Gegenkämpfer mit Macht, Ich bin ein Rechtsausleger und ich weiß, dass ich für jeden Boxer da draußen auf der Boxstrecke ein Albtraum sein kann.

Ich wollte immer Entertainer sein und den Leuten das Gefühl geben, das ich hatte, wenn ich ihm zusah.

 

Meine Lieblingskämpfer, die ich jetzt sehr gerne schaue, sind Floyd Mayweather, Adrian Broner, Chris Eubank Jr. und Errol Spence Jr, Diese Art von Kämpfern nehme ich gerne und versuche, sie in meinen eigenen Stil zu verwandeln.

Weg von den Kämpfen usw., wer sind die wichtigsten Leute, die das Team Gallagher ausmachen?

 

Dayle

Wo trainierst du und wie sieht dein Trainingsplan aus?

 

Dayle

Ich trainiere im Engine Room Boxing Club, Sports Direct Fitness und Spartan Dynamic, Meine normale Routine für die Kampfnacht ist 6bin Ich wache mit einer Banane auf und gehe dann direkt zu Sports Direct Fitness für mein Laufen.

 

Ich komme gerne dazwischen 4-6 jeden Morgen meilenweit, dann mache ich ein bisschen Taschenarbeit und gehe in die Sauna, dann gehe ich nach hause und ruhe mich dann um 10:30bin je nachdem an welchem ​​tag Montag, Mittwoch, Freitag Ich werde mindestens bis Mittag im Maschinenraum sein und an meinem Boxen arbeiten.

 

Dienstag und Donnerstag Ich werde bis Mittag bei Spartan Dynamic sein und an meiner Kraft und Kondition arbeiten, dann hole ich frisch zubereitete Speisen vom Goodness Grill ab und habe dann Arbeit ab 2:30Uhr bis 9:30pm.

 

Es ist eine schwierige Routine, aber für meinen Traum ist es das alles wert.

Was würdest du sagen, ist dein Lieblingsteil beim Training?

 

Dayle

Ich habe nicht wirklich einen Lieblingsteil des Trainings; Mein Lieblingsteil ist wahrscheinlich, dass mir gesagt wird, dass ich fertig bin, weil es wirklich harte Arbeit ist.

An accomplished amateur who was born in Kazakhstan but fights out of California, Lipinets turned pro in April of 2014 with a decision victory over Franklin Varela. The 27-year-old recorded six knockouts in a row before stepping up in competition and impressing with a victory over Haskell Lydell Rhodes in March 2015 and a knockout of Levan Ghvamichava in March. He kept the momentum going by stopping established contender Walter Castillo in July and knocking out Lenny Zappavigna in their 140-pound title eliminator in December. He will be challenge by the Keith Thurman stablemate Booth, wer kämpft aus St.. Petersburg, Florida and defeated Cesar Soriano in his last bout.

LAS VEGAS–König Vargas walked into enemy territory and won the WBC Super Bantamweight title with a 12-round majority decision over Gavin McDonnell at Ice Hall in Hull, England.

The championship bout, which took place this past Samstag, headlined a card that was streamed live on www.klowdtv.com

It was a competitive fight with Vargas using his length and landing his jab, that would open up combinations. McDonnell was willing, but did not seem to be able to get in a groove, yet he was able to fight even on a card at 114-114. while two other cards had the right winner at 117-111 und 116-112.

Vargas of Mexico is now 29-0. McDonnell, was trying to join his twin brother Jamie (IBF Bantamweight) as current world champion, sinkt auf 16-1-2.

Campbell is 16-1. Lopez is 21-7.

Tommy Coyle stopped Rakeem Noble in round three of their scheduled ten-round super lightweight bout.

Coyle hurt Noble with a right at the end of round two, and finished him with a booming right in round three, that sent Noble down. Noble got to his feet, but the referee stopped the fight.

Coyle is now 23-4. Noble is 11-2.

Dec Spelman (11-0) registered a 3rd round stoppage over Nathan King (14-28) in a scheduled 6-round light heavyweight bout.

Heavyweight Dave Allen (10-2-1) brauchte nur 31 seconds to stop Lukasz Rusiewicz (22-29) in a heavyweight bout scheduled for 6 Runde.

BIRMINGHAM, AL. (Februar 25, 2017) – Unbesiegte steigende Aussicht Caleb Plant (15-0, 10 KOs) erzielte eine einstimmige Entscheidung (100-89, 100-89, 99-90) Sieg über einen erfahrenen Thomas Awimbono (25-7-1, 21 KOs) im Hauptereignis der Premier Boxing Champions auf FS1 und FOX Deportes aus der Legacy Arena in Birmingham, AL.
In der TV-Opener, Tugstsogt Nyambayar (8-0, 7 KOs) ging mit einem hart umkämpften Sieg als Sieger hervor 10thrunder technischer Knockout gegen Jhon Gemino (15-8-1, 7 KOs).

“Heute Abend ging es darum, kontrolliert zu bleiben. Ich wollte da nicht rausgehen und irgendetwas erzwingen. Ich wollte mich nur entspannen und mich hinter meinem Stoß niederlassen, benutze meine Ohnmachtsanfälle, und mach einfach die Aufnahmen, die für mich da waren.
“Ich hoffe, dass ein solcher Sieg mir einige Türen öffnet. Die 168 lbs Division ist in meiner Gesäßtasche. Ich nehme nur einen Kampf nach dem anderen und wir werden unser Ziel erreichen.
“Die Distanz zu gehen, um einen erfahrenen Kämpfer wie Awimbono zu gewinnen, zeigt viel über mein Potenzial. Er war mit einigen großartigen Kämpfern dort, aber ich kämpfte meinen Kampf und bekam den Sieg.
“Ich ließ ihn früh mit einem Wirbel fallen, aber es ist schwer gegen einen Kerl, der sich nicht engagieren wollte. Du musst nehmen, was sie dir geben. “Wir haben viel früher nach einem Knockout gesucht, aber Gemino war heute Abend wirklich hart. Er zeigte viel Herz, aber zum Glück haben wir den Sieg bekommen.
“Obwohl dies ein schwereres Gewicht war, als ich es gewohnt bin zu kämpfen, Ich hatte kein Problem damit, mit seiner Größe umzugehen.
“Auf FS1 und FOX Deportes auf einer solchen Karte zu kämpfen, bedeutet für mich die Welt. Dies war eine große Gelegenheit, meine Fähigkeiten zu demonstrieren.

BIRMINGHAM, AL. (Februar 25, 2017) – Undefeated heavyweight world champion Deontay “Die Bronze Bomber” Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) knocked out Gerald “Die Black Rooster” Washington (18-1-1, 12 KOs) in the fifth round of the main event of Premier Boxing Champions on FOX and FOX Deportes at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, AL.
In front of a crowd of 12,346 Fans, Wilder was able to give his home state crowd another scintillating victory. Although Washington stole some of the early rounds, Wilder’s patience paid off as he was able to find his pace and finish Washington in the fifth frame.
In the blistering televised opener, Dominic Breazeale (18-1, 16 KOs) stopped previously unbeaten Izuagbe Ugonoh (17-1, 14 KOs). Ugonoh controlled the fight early landing heavy blows to both Breazeale’s body and head, but Breazeale was able to compose himself and stormed back to knock out Ugonoh in impressive fashion.
The co-main event featured Jarrett Hurd (20-0, 14 KOs) knocking out Tony Harrison (24-2, 20 KOs) in the ninth round of their contest.

“I knew he was going to come in excited to fight for a world title. I just kept calm and found my rhythm. I really knew he was going to tire out, and when he did I took advantage.
“It was all about timing. I’m very smart when it comes to using different tactics in the ring.
“Fighting here in Alabama is a blessing. The people here show up to support me and I love them for it. I’m always going to support and be here for my Alabama family. To see the crowd’s response tonight meant a lot to me.
“As I’ve been saying, I’m looking to unify the division. I think it’s critical to have one fighter and one champion, and that’s Deontay Wilder. Let’s hope Joseph Parker is ready for me because I’m definitely ready for him.”
GERALD WASHINGTON
“I just got a little impatient. I was trying to go for it. It was an even boxing match. I could have kept it like that and kept it boring. I don’t know why I fell asleep there. I guess I lost a little focus.
“I caught him with one shot when he was coming in. But instead of me keeping that play going and keep pushing him back and keep him in control by keeping him in the center of the ring, I tried to get on him. I was trying to play a little counter punch role and catch him coming in. He just caught me.
“It’s just an experience. You have to follow the game plan and stay focused, stay patient. You may not get all the shots you want in the beginning, but you have to play the game all the way out and then things will start to happen.”
JARRETT HURD
“We wanted to take our time with him because Harrison can box and move. But every time he fights he wears down toward the end.
“During the sixth round, he caught me with a good shot inside my left eye. But I managed to fight through it and get the win.
“It feels great to be a champion. I’ve never had a feeling this great before. It’s pure Accokeek power. I can finally pull my pants up now. My pants were falling down, but I finally got my belt.”
DOMINIC Breazeale
“It took a little time for me to find my pace, but eventually I found my Rhythm. Izu came in in great shape and with guns blazing. He came at me with some stuff that I wasn’t expecting. Him being the lighter guy I wasn’t really expecting the power he possessed.
“I was able to connect some big shots tonight, especially with my right hand. You see what happens when I put him down and he never really recovered.
“Coming off the loss to Joshua, this win puts me right back in there. This is what I’ve always asked for. My team does an incredible job of getting me any fight I ask for, and I wanted to fight an undefeated guy like Izu. Er ist ein großer, stark, athletic guy.

“I expected that I was going to knock him out. I believed I would accomplish that, but he didn’t surprise me with anything. I was landing some good shots to both his body and his face.
“Breazeale showed a lot of heart though, and I think that his experience really helped him. I think a fight like Anthony Joshua really helped him realize that he could take anything and win the fight. He did that tonight.
“Ganz Ehrlich, I just got tired. I gave him what I had and then I got tired. When he came back at me I wasn’t able to keep up and finish through on my game plan.
“The plan was to really use my double jab, and I’m not making any excuses. This is the fight game. Das war eine große Gelegenheit für mich, a big step up, and I was hoping to get it done.
