BROOKLYN (Avril 19, 2017) – Four-time world champion Amanda “La vraie affaire” Serrano will look for a record-setting fifth world title when she battles former world champion Dahiana Santana for the vacant WBO Bantamweight World Championship on Samedi, Avril 22 in the featured bout of SHOWTIME BOXING on SHO EXTREME, présenté par Premier Champions de boxe, de Barclays Center, la maison de BROOKLYN BOXE ™.

Unbeaten top heavyweight contender Luis Ortiz was originally scheduled to faceDerric Rossy in an undercard attraction, but was forced to withdraw after injuring his hand in training.
The 28-year-old Serrano (31-1-1, 23 KOs) can become the first female and the first Puerto Rican fighter in history to win world titles in five weight classes. Standing in her way is the former featherweight champion Santana (35-8, 14 KOs) sur Saint-Domingue, République Dominicaine.
“I’m really excited about this fight because this is the first time I haven’t had to call someone out, Santana has been calling me out for some time,” Saïd Serrano. “I’ve been in training since my last fight, just like I always am. I’m constantly learning and trying to improve and maintain my skills. Santana is the best female boxer from the Dominican Republic and she’s won fights all over the world. “I got the offer for this fight about a month and a half ago and I have been training hard ever since,” said Santana. “I’m a technical fighter, but I have different styles and I can adapt to my opponent. I know Amanda very well and I’ve seen her fight many times. I’m going to come and put on a great show and leave everything I have in the ring.”

Raised in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, Serrano gravitated toward boxing from watching her older sister Cindy, also a professional fighter. She picked the sport up quickly, amassant une 9-1 record during a brief amateur career in which she won the New York Golden Gloves title in 2008. The 28-year-old would go on to fight all over the world, seizing her first world title in 2011 when she defeated Kimberly Connor to grab a super featherweight belt. En 2014, she went to Argentina and defeated Maria Elena Maderna to become a world champion at lightweight. Her world title climb continued in 2016 as she stopped Olivia Gerula in the first round to capture her featherweight championship and followed that up with a victory over Alexandra Lazar to add a super bantamweight title to her collection. She most recently put on a show at Barclays Center in January when she defeated two-division champion Yazmin Rivas by unanimous decision.
Un pro depuis 2002, Santana won a world title in 2011 with a victory over Stacey Reile before defending her belt successfully three times. She picked up an interim featherweight title in 2014 to cap a seven-fight win streak that spanned from 2011 à 2014. Hailing from Aguascalientes, Mexico Borrego turned pro in 2015 after an amateur career that included a gold medal at the 2013 Mexican National Olympiad. He racked up three victories before a busy 2016 saw him score seven knockout victories, including his last outing, a stoppage of Tomas Mendez in round one. Borrego had previously trained at Freddie Roach’s gym when training in the U.S., but held training camp up in the Bronx leading up to Avril 22.
Fighting out of Escondido, Californie, Delperdang most recently went 12-rounds with former title challenger Hank Lundy after winning his previous four fights, dont trois par KO. The 24-year-old defeated previously unbeaten Oscar Mejia last September and his only other defeat came via a narrow majority decision to then unbeaten Rickey Edwards. NEW YORK (Avril 17, 2017) – SHOWTIME Sports has unveiled the network’s complete spring 2017 boxing schedule following today’s earlier announcement that the heavyweight boxing event of the year will be televised en direct sur Showtime. The stacked lineup includes seven world championship fights across eight live boxing telecasts over an eight-week span.

 

Sur Samedi, Avril 29, Anthony Joshua fera face Wladimir Klitschko in the most significant heavyweight world championship fight in more than a decade. The event will air live on SHOWTIME à 4:15 p.m. ET/1:15 p.m. PT from a sold-out Wembley Stadium, where a record crowd of more than 90,000 spectators is expected.

 

Also announced today, SHOWTIME and Premier Boxing Champions will present the rematch between WBC Light Heavyweight Champion Adonis Stevenson et Andrzej Fonfara sur Samedi, Juin 3. This bout is an encore of a 2014 action-packed fight in which Stevenson edged Fonfara to defend his 175-pound crown.

 

The SHOWTIME boxing lineup also includes two significant welterweight bouts with world title implications: Autres Berto vs. Shawn Porter (Avril 22) et Kell Brook vs. Errol Spence Jr. (Mai 27). Both events are presented in association with Premier Boxing Champions. Le Avril 22 Berto vs. Porter event will feature an anticipated 154-pound world title fight between Jermell Charlo et Charles Hatley as well asworld champion Amanda Serrano attempting to become the first woman—and first fighter of Puerto Rican decent—to win a world title in five different weight classes.

 

Sur Samedi, Mai 20, SHOWTIME will present a unique twin-bill of world championship fights. Première, boxing’s hottest young star, newly minted world champion Gervonta Davis, will make his first world title defense against Liam Walsh de Londres. Plus tard ce soir, featherweight world champion Gary Russell Jr. et ancien champion du monde Andre Dirrell will be featured in separate bouts. Ce vendredi nuit au Centre Vidéotron de Québec
MONTRÉAL (Février 20, 2017) – Une carte complète avec une saveur internationale, du haut jusqu'en bas, a été annoncé pour ce vendredi (Février. 24) nuit de “BUTE CONTRE ALVAREZ” événement majeur au Centre Vidéotron de Québec, Canada.
World Boxing Council (WBC) champion poids léger léger Eleider “Tempête” Alvarez (21-0, 10 KOs), défend son titre contre l'ancien champion du monde des super-moyens Lucian Bute (32-3-1, 25 KOs) dans le main event de 12 rounds qui sert également d'éliminateur final WBC pour déterminer le challenger obligatoire pour WBC et le champion des poids lourds légers linéaires Adonis “Superman” Stevenson (28-1-0, 23 KOs). Alvarez, qui habite à Montréal, était un olympien colombien et Laval, Bute, résident du Canada, est originaire de Roumanie. Stevenson, Alvarez et Bute sont tous promus par GYM.
”C'est un excellent événement global de boxe et le résultat aura un impact significatif sur la carrière de tous les participants,” a déclaré le président du GYM, Yvon Michel.

Dans la co-métrage en 12 rounds, Poids lourds canadiens Eric “Le Marteau” Martel-Bahoeli (14-5-2, 8 KOs) et Adam “Le Bogeyman” Braidwood (6-1, 5 KOs) se battra pour l'Union mondiale de boxe vacante (UMA) titre. Un ancien Commonwealth & Challenger au titre canadien, Martel-Bahieli se battra chez lui à Québec. Braidwood, se battre hors de Colombie-Britannique, est un ancien joueur de football de la Washington State University et de la Ligue canadienne de football (CFL).
Super poids welter populaire du Québec Sebastian Bouchard, une 2007 Médaillé d'argent aux Championnats canadiens, affronte le champion mexicain des super poids welters Gustavo “Les vitamines” Garibay (13-7-2, 5 KOs) dans un huit rondes non-combat pour le titre.
Fédération internationale de boxe (IBF) champion des poids moyens Francis Lafrenière (14-5-2, 8 KOs), combattant aussi hors du Québec, défend son combat de 10 rounds contre un artiste mexicain à élimination directe Uriel “Big Bang” Gonzalez (15-1-1, 11 KOs). L'Organisation nord-américaine de boxe vacante (VOISINS) championnat sera également la ligne pour le Lefreniere vs. Affrontement Willis.
Dans une paire de combats hors PPV, invaincu super poids moyen de Montréal Dario Bredidean (11-0, 3 KOs) fait face à un envahisseur mexicain Alejandro Torres (9-1-2, 4 KOs) dans un match de huit rondes, tandis que 2016 France Olympien Christian “Le Solide” je ne suis pas (1-0, 1 KO) est présenté dans un combat en quatre rounds contre les super-moyens mexicains Jésus Olivares (5-3, 3 KOs).

The bout will also determine the next opponent for WBC champion Adonis Stevenson in a clash that will be one of the most important and the biggest fights in Canadian boxing history.”
Romania-born Bute (32-3-1, 25 KOs), who is a Canadian citizen living in Laval (Canada), held the IBF 168-pound division title for nearly five years (Octobre. 19, 2007-Mai 26, 2012), when the wildly popular southpaw ranked among the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
Bute has a sterling 10-2-1 (8 KOs) record in world title fights and he has defeated six world champions: Dingaan Thobela, Saki Taurus, Alejandro Berrio, William Joppy, Brian Magee et Glen Johnson.
Le WBC Non. 7-ranked Bute will celebrate his 37e birthday four days after his fight with Alvarez. All three of his pro career losses have been to world champions: Jean Pascal, Carl Froch et James DeGale.
The 32-year-old Alvarez (21-0, 10 KOs), combattant de Montréal, is a native of Colombia, where he was a decorated amateur, capturing a gold medalist at the prestigious 2007 Jeux panaméricains, en plus d'être un 2008 Olympian in Beijing, Chine.
“Tempête” moved to Montreal and turned pro in 2009. He went on to become North American Boxing Organization (VOISINS) and North American Boxing Association (Aussi) champion poids léger léger. En 2014, he stopped previously undefeated Ryno Liebenberg (16-0) in the seventh round of their fight in Monte Carlo to capture the WBC Silver 175-pound division championship, which he has successfully defended twice, both by 12-round decision, contre Isidro Prieto Ranoni (24-0-3) et ancien challenger pour le titre mondial Isaac Mark.
Maintenant classé Non. 1 by the WBC and No. 4 par The Ring magazine, Alvarez’ most recent fight was last month, in which he won a 10-round unanimous decision over Norbert Dabrowski (19-5-1) à Montréal.

GROUPE YVON MICHEL’S TOP FIGHTERS JOIN VADA/WBC CLEAN BOXING PROGRAM

MONTRÉAL (Août 10, 2016) – Groupe Yvon Michel’s (GYM) world-ranked boxers have enrolled in the new VADA/WBC Clean Boxing Program (CBP), created by Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VA DONNER) and the World Boxing Council (WBC).
Adonis Stevenson, Lucian Bute, Eleider Alvarez et Artur Beterbiev will now participate in a serious new protocol in which they may be blood and/or urine tested anytime, 365 days per year. They must be available at all times for an unexpected test.
All of the WBC champions and WBC top 15-ranked fighters have until Septembre 9 to conform to the new protocol or they will be removed from the WBC rankings and suspended from any activity in the WBC.
”This is a step in the right direction but what will really be important in the next few years is for this structure to always keep improving in order to properly regulate professional boxing,” entraîneur Marc Ramsay dit.
”Heureusement, boxing is rarely the target of doping cases, but tightening the rules can only be beneficial to prevent tempted athletes to follow the wrong path,” added GYM vice-president, operations and recruitment, Bernard Barré.
”I am fully in favor of these new measures so all of us in the program will be playing on the same plain field,” remarked Stevenson, the WBC world light heavyweight champion.
“The WBC is proud to see the exemplary dedication of GYM for the welfare of the sport and we are grateful for their support to enroll Champion Adonis Stevenson and all of their WBC top 15-ranked fighters in the WBC – VADA Clean Boxing Program,” WBC président Mauricio Sulaiman commenté. “The CBP is the first ever attempt in our sport to have a safety platform for our athletes and, plus important, to share the much needed information on PED´s and illegal procedures which could harm our heroes of the ring.”

QUÉBEC (Juillet 30, 2016) – Champion des lourds légers du monde Adonis “Superman” Stevenson (28-1, 23 KOs) livré une victoire bobine point fort de knock-out sur Thomas “Top Dogg” Williams Jr. (20-2, 14 KOs) dans le quatrième tour d'une épreuve de force événement passionnant sur Premier Champions de boxe sur Épi Vendredi nuit du centre Vidéotron à Québec, Canada.
“Ce fut un échange de tirs,” Ledit Stevenson. “Il m'a mis la pression alors j'ai décidé de faire pression sur lui aussi. Ce fut un combat avec deux gars qui pourrait frapper et il a été spectaculaire. Il était l'anniversaire de ma fille et je lui ai donné un grand cadeau.”
Le champion en titre Stevenson, combats dans sa ville d'adoption, Williams mis dans un tour avec une main droite à gauche. Williams a pu récupérer et se mit à dos de feu au deuxième tour. Cependant, Jab Stevenson a envoyé régulièrement Williams retours en arrière, tandis que Williams a abandonné la Commission paritaire de recours et a tenté de réduire la distance avec coups de poing de puissance des angles difficiles. Williams titubant le champion du monde à plusieurs reprises, au moyen d'un rempart efficace contre la main droite tout en obtenant le meilleur de nombreux échanges.
Les deux hommes ont été blessés dans un troisième tour passionnant qui bat scie l'élan en faveur de chaque homme avant que la cloche a sonné pour mettre fin à la ronde. Une coupe a ouvert sur l'œil gauche de Williams à la fin du cycle qui a été tendait dans son coin. Williams a frappé la toile à la suite d'un coup bas au début du quatrième, mais peu retrouvé son pied après.
La puissance notoire perforateur Stevenson a fini par atterrir le coup décisif de la nuit quand il a attrapé Williams’ menton accroché dans la poche et livré une main droite à gauche qui a mis le challenger au sol. Le Washington, DC zone indigène n'a pas pu récupérer, Michael Griffin incitant l'arbitre à arrêter le combat 2:54 dans le quatrième tour.

Ni chasseur a pu contrôler de la lutte avec Nicholson essayant d'utiliser sa longueur et jab tout Aleem a essayé de couper la distance et l'attaque à coups de poings courts. Nicholson semblait avoir l'attaque plus efficace dans les premiers tours, tandis que Aleem a commencé à avoir plus de succès que la lutte déplacé à l'action des orteils aux pieds dans la seconde moitié de la lutte.
Les juges’ Les scores reflètent la nature à proximité de la lutte comme un juge l'avait 77-74 pour Aleem tandis que les deux autres juges avaient une 76-76 dessiner.
La scie ouvre télévisé Eleider “Tempête” Alvarez (20-0, 10 KOs) garder sa fiche parfaite intacte avec une victoire par décision unanime contre la Nouvelle-Zélande Robert Berridge (27-5, 21 KOs) dans une affaire mi-lourds 10 rounds.
“Je suis content de la victoire, mais j'aurais aimé un knock-out! Il était difficile, mais il ne m'a pas fait mal du tout et je pensais que je l'ai blessé. Je suis prêt pour mon prochain défi, qui nous l'espérons, un combat pour le titre mondial.”
Le prétendant au top-rated pour le titre de Stevenson, Alvarez a établi son jab tôt tout en attaquant le corps de Berridge avec des crochets à droite. Alvarez a continué à contrôler le combat à distance que Berridge a été lent à commencer à augmenter sa production avant qu'il a commencé à mettre la pression dans cinq rondes.
Le gaucher Berridge a pu atterrir à l'occasion sur Alvarez avec une main gauche en boucle, mais jamais mettre le combattant invaincu en danger. Alvarez a commencé à avoir plus ou moins de succès avec son attaque droite uppercuts et crochets qui a finalement quitté l'œil droit Berridge gonflé et meurtri.
Alvarez a remporté la décision par des dizaines de 99-90 et 98-92 deux fois.
