Josh Parker has been a mainstay of both the NEF MMA cage and boxing ring since his debut with the promotion back at “NEF I” im Februar 2012. Bangor, Maine (August 6, 2017) –There was no place like home Samstag night for C.J. Wasserkrug, Ryan Sanders and Fred Lear of Young’s MMA in Bangor.

Fighting in front of a sold-out ballroom a stone’s throw from their training headquarters, the three fighters atop the card at “NEF 30” Rumble in Bangor” all posted impressive victories at Cross Insurance Center.

Ewer defeated Mike “The Mustache” Hansen by submission at 1:46 of the first round to capture the vacant NEF pro middleweight title. Lear landed the NEF amateur bantamweight belt, while Sanders tightened his grip on New England’s pro lightweight scene in a non-title triumph.

It was the second consecutive August sellout in the Queen City, a tradition that began with “NEF Presents Dana White: Lookin’ For a Fight” last summer.

After his hard-fought win over the much-traveled Jay Ellis, NEF pro lightweight champion Sanders, Kein Platz. 1 in der Region, kept his comments short and sweet while calling out the aforementioned Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Präsident.

“You took the wrong guy last year,” Sanders said. “Come get me now.”

“This was by far the best training camp I ever had. We were just getting warmed up,” Hansen said. “I had a lot more to give, and I’m sure C.J. had a lot of more to give. But hey, we could do it again.”

Lear highlighted the amateur portion of the card with an authoritative second-round knockout of Walt Shea.

Only the bell saved Shea from Lear’s onslaught at the end of the opening chapter. Lear gained the advantage with a kick to the head midway through that round. After nearly locking in an arm bar that could have ended the fight, Lear bloodied the previously unbeaten Shea with a series of strikes.

The end appeared inevitable when Shea needed Lear’s help to find his corner between rounds, and another interrupted attack hastened the finish only 14 Sekunden später.

An emotional Lear lauded his coach, Chris Young of Young’s MMA, before fastening the belt around the teacher’s waist.

“A lot of people around here know his name, but they don’t know the man,” Lear said. “He’s the first guy in the gym in the morning and the last one to leave at night. He’s the reason we’re all here. He’s the reason we’re successful. He’s the reason some of us aren’t in jail.”

In the first two fights of Josh Jones’ amateur MMA career, Jones dispatched his opponents by one-punch knockout in a total of 24 Sekunden. It took Carlton Charles one fewer tick of the clock to take out Jones in the stunning conclusion to a touted tangle of former star collegiate athletes.

Charles, a product of the University of Maine football program taking his initial walk to the NEF cage, turned the tables on Jones (2-1) in a middleweight scrap. Jones again went for the early stoppage with a pair of looping shots, but Charles calmly ducked them before landing one of his own and taking the issue to the mat.

“I just love the competition,” Charles said. “You don’t get hit in the face like this on the football field.”

When the combatants regained their feet, Charles backed Jones against the cage and landed two right hands to the jaw. Jones dropped to one knee and absorbed a sharp left to the head. That persuaded the referee to step in and stop the fight, a verdict that left Jones and his First Class MMA camp visibly puzzled.

It was Charles’ second one-sided combat sports victory in a week’s time. He previously delivered a first-round TKO in the amateur boxing ring. Jones suffered his first defeat since making the transition from basketball, which he played professionally in Europe after starring at Bangor’s Husson University.

One look at Freitag official weigh-in suggested that the bout between Roger Ewer (251 Pfund) and Dustin Freeman (220) might be the typical stand-up, slug-it-out heavyweight affair. Stattdessen, it turned into a ground-and-pound showcase that was right in Ewer’s wheelhouse. The co-main event of the evening will see Ewer’s Young’s teammate, undefeated Bangor prospect Aaron Lacey (4-0) take on Bellator veteran Bryan Goldsby (17-16). Goldsby will represent Lacey’s most-seasoned challenge to date. Lacey has been nothing short of “Unnachgiebig” – his nickname – seit Drehen Pro. He has submitted three of his four opponents in the first round. Only John Santos (3-5) was able to survive three full rounds with Lacey last summer in Bangor. Bereits heute Morgen, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the card. Aaron “Unnachgiebig” Lacey (4-0) hat zu Gesicht unterzeichnet Walter “All-Day” Smith-Cotito (4-5) bei einem Kampf Gewicht von 145 Pfund-.

Aaron Lacey, undefeated as a professional, has won seven in a row going back to his amateur career. He was prepared to compete at “NEF 27” letzten monat, but Mother Nature had other plans when a snowstorm prevented his opponent from making the trip to Lewiston from Florida. The setback has made Lacey even hungrier to return to action, but the Young’s MMA standout knows that he has his toughest test to date in front of him in the form of Cotito.

“This is going to be an amazing fight,” sagte Lacey. “Walter is a skilled and dangerous opponent, and he is realistically one of the most dangerous people I have fought to date. That’s alright with me though – the tougher the opponent, je härter ich arbeite,. After what went down in February, I’m chomping at the bit to get back in there.”

The fight for Cotito will represent a rubber match of sorts with Young’s opponents. In the spring of 2013, Cotito took Ray Wood (8-3) deep into the third round before Wood, then Young’s standout featherweight prospect, was able to finish the fight. Cotito would gain a measure of revenge against the Bangor gym when he submitted Bruce Boyington (14-10) bei “NEF X” later that year. Between a pair of recent appearances for global fight promotion Bellator, Cotito scored a second-round submission of Elias Leland (3-2) bei “NEF 25” letzten September.

STACKED FIGHT CARD OPENS THE YEAR FOR NEF IN LEWISTON

Lewiston, Maine (Januar 11, 2017) -Neu England Fights (NEF) kehrt zum Androscoggin Bank Colisee zurück Februar 11, 2017 with its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 27: RESURGENCE.” Bereits heute Morgen, the fight promotion announced the full card for the event. The night will feature both amateur and professional MMA bouts.

 

Headlining the evening will be the semi-finals of the tournament to crown a new professional lightweight champion. The title was vacated when previous champion Devin Powell (8-1) signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Ryan Sanders (12-8) dauert an John Ortolani (8-10) während Jon Lemke (5-7) Gesichter Jesse Erickson (9-5) in a rematch from Bellator 93. The winners of those two bouts will meet in the finals tentatively scheduled for “NEF 28” später in diesem Jahr.

 

In a highly-anticipated heavyweight bout, Ras Hylton (0-0) machen sein Profidebüt gegen Mike Hansen (5-4). The 6’6″ Hylton, oder “Rasquatch” as he is known amongst his fans, was voted the “2016 Rookie des Jahres” by NEF fans after going 3-0 als Amateur. Hansen was a Maine state wrestling champion for Mountain Valley High School (MVHS), and he has developed quite a reputation for downing larger opponents on both the mats and the MMA cage. Hansen was the recipient of the “2016 Submission of the Year” Auszeichnung.

Youngs Teamkollege, Katie Baker (0-0), will make her in-cage debut against another tough competitor from the Granite State in the form of Alex Walker (2-1), während Sarah Ziehm makes her debut against Nicole Burgess (0-1).

Aaron “Unnachgiebig” Lacey (4-0) dauert an Chris “Game Bred” Jacobs (1-0) bei einem Kampf Gewicht von 145 Pfund-.

 

Voted “Fighter of the Year” earlier this week by NEF fans, it would take a Herculean effort to argue that 2016 was not Aaron Lacey’s year. He made his professional debut in April at “NEF 22” defeating veteran Derek Shorey (4-8) and remained undefeated the rest of the year. Including his amateur career, Lacey is riding a seven-fight win streak. He has not lost a fight since the spring of 2014 (his only loss) – close to three years ago.

 

Zuletzt, Lacey struck down seasoned pro Taylor Trahan (6-7) with a vicious liver kick that made the entire crowd at the Colisee cringe. A win over Jacobs on Februar 11 would move Lacey that much closer to signing a contract with a major, national MMA promotion – a fate long predicted by many insiders for the product of Bangor’s Young’s MMA gym.

 

“I’m looking forward to 2017,” said Lacey when reached for comment. “2016 was a big year for me and I am looking forward to carrying that momentum into the new year on February 11th. Chris Jacobs is a seasoned opponent who is making the trip up from Florida, so he will be prepared. I live in the gym and have been making huge gains, und 2017 will be the year I get to showcase those gains!”

 

Jacobs is based out of DeLand, Florida. “NEF 27” will see him make his first trip to compete in Maine, but Jacobs is no stranger to the MMA cage. He put together an impressive record of 8-3 als Amateur, including capturing a regional title on a fight card in nearby Daytona Beach. Jacobs won his pro debut earlier this year in Tampa. He is looking forward to facing tough competition in the form of Lacey.

ZUR SOFORTIGEN VERÖFFENTLICHUNG: Lewiston, Maine (November 19, 2016) - New England Fights (NEF) hielt seine neuesten Mixed-Martial-Arts (MMA) Ereignis, “NEF 26: VORHERRSCHAFT” am Samstagabend in der Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. Die Aktion präsentierte insgesamt 14 MMA kämpft vor einer starken Menge von Kampf-Fans.

 

Das Blut floss früh und floss die ganze Nacht über großzügig weiter.

 

Im Main Event des Abends, Ryan Sanders (12-8) unterlegen Jon Lemke (5-7) über einstimmige technische Entscheidung. Der Kampf wurde in der dritten Runde abgebrochen, als Lemke einen tiefen Schnitt am Kopf erlitt. Mit dem Kampf in der dritten Runde, nach den Unified Rules of MMA die Richter’ Scorecards wurden für ein Urteil angefordert. Sanders gewann 20-18 auf allen drei Richtern’ Scorecards, nur die ersten beiden Runden erzielt.

 

Das Co-Main Event sah Josh Parker (5-8) einreichen Derek Shorey (4-8) in der ersten Runde eines mit Spannung erwarteten “Trainer vs.. Trainer” Schlacht.

 

Abgerundet wird der professionelle Teil der Karte, Aaron Lacey (4-0) blieb ungeschlagen mit einem mündlichen Einreichungssieg gegen den Veteranen Taylor Trahan (6-7).

 

Nick Gulliver (4-0) von Farmington, Maine gewann den NEF Amateur Heavyweight Title mit einem Sieg über Quilt DeCastro (2-3) als Headliner der Amateurkarte.

Lewiston, Maine (Oktober 21, 2016) – New England Fights (NEF) präsentiert sein nächstes Mixed-Martial-Arts-Event, “NEF 26: VORHERRSCHAFT,” am Samstag, November 19 am Androscoggin Banküber Colisee. Bereits heute Morgen, Führungskräfte des NEF kündigten die vollständige Kampfkarte für das Event an, für das das große Finale der Kampfförderung stattfinden wird 2016.

 

Im Main Event, “Die” Ryan Sanders (10-8) treffen Jon Lemke (5-6) in einem professionellen leichten Kampf. Es wird Sanders sein’ erster Kampf in Lewiston seit November 2014. Es wurde viel Wert darauf gelegt, dass Sanders und Lemke ehemalige Teamkollegen sind. Der Kampf gilt als “Traummatch” von Maine Kampf Fans, vor allem diejenigen aus der Region Bangor, die mit der Rivalität zwischen Sanders vertraut sind’ Camp Young's MMA und Lemke's Camp Team Irish.

 

Das Co-Main Event des Abends wird interessant sein “Trainer vs.. Trainer” Schlacht. “Bruchsicher 2.0” Derek Shorey (4-7), Leiter des Shatterproof Combat Club, soll gegen Ruthless MMA antreten & Boxgründer Josh Parker (4-8) in einem professionellen Federgewichtswettbewerb. Shorey hat Anfang Herbst in Rhode Island einen großen Sieg errungen, während Parker in den MMA-Käfig zurückkehren wird, nachdem er die letzten drei Jahre als Boxer verbracht hat.

 

Abgerundet wird der professionelle Teil der Karte durch eine ungeschlagene Aussicht Aaron “Unnachgiebig” Lacey (3-0) und Taylor Trahan (6-6) in einem Federgewicht Kampf. Lacey und Trahan reichten beide ihre jeweiligen Gegner bei ein “NEF 25” letzten monat. Viele lokale Anhänger des Sports sind der Meinung, dass Lacey nur eine Handvoll Siege davon entfernt ist, den Ruf in die Hauptliga des Sports zu erhalten. Trahan wird versuchen, die Rolle des Spoilers zu spielen und gleichzeitig den Verlust seines Team Link-Teamkollegen John Santos zu rächen (3-5) nach Lacey in Bangor im vergangenen August.

 

Der Amateur-Teil der Karte wird von einem Titelkampf im Schwergewicht zwischen den Karten angeführt Kerbe “Der Wächter” Gulliver (3-0) und Quilt DeCastro (2-2). DeCastro trat an die Platte, um sich Gulliver zu stellen, wenn kein anderes Schwergewicht in der Region dies tun würde. Gulliver war auf einem Weg der Zerstörung, in zwei Minuten durch drei Gegner rippen.

 

Zwei Frauenkämpfe stehen an “NEF 26.” Jessica “Die schwarze Witwe” Zahlen (2-2) kehrt aus Florida zurück, um den brasilianischen Jiu-Jitsu-Schwarzgurt zu treffen Brianne Genschel (0-0). Genschels erstklassiger MMA-Teamkollege “Hollywood” Hannah Sparrell (1-1) wird auch in Aktion sein gegen Fernanda Araujo (4-4-2).

 

Jay Jack und Amanda Buckners The Academy in Portland, Maine wird zwei neue Kämpfer in den Käfig schicken “NEF 26.” Chad Pierce (0-0) wird gegen Shatterproofs debütieren Lyman Curtis (0-0), während Phil Chiasson (0-0) erfüllt Rik Seymour (0-0) von 3Ronin Athletics.
