ATLANTIC CITY BOXING HALL OF FAME SECOND INDUCTION WEEKEND
JUNE 1ST, 2ND and 3RD 2018
Atlantic City, N.J. – Novembre 7, 2017 – The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame is proud to announce its second Annual Induction Ceremony & Celebration Weekend. Le 2018 celebration is set for Vendredi, June 1st through Sunday, 3 juin; and will be held at the historic Claridge a Radisson Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Our esteemed Nomination Committee has completed the nomination and voting process; and the names of all luminaries who will be inducted into the 2018 induction de classe, will be announced Lundi, Novembre 27, 2017, via an official press release. This year’s group of Inductees is comprised of Boxers, Formateurs, Promoteurs, Gestionnaires, Matchmakers, Historians, Collaborateurs spéciaux, and Posthumous individuals. All who have played a major role in making Atlantic City atop boxing destination in the U.S.A.
The countdown to Induction Weekend has begun as plenary meetings are already underway. Over the next several week’s updates on room packages, schedule of events and expected celebrity appearances will be posted on the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame and the Claridge Hotel websites and social media platforms.
During last year’s inaugural three-day celebration – ACBHOF showcased the Fight Fan Experience – a festive boxing-themed environment that included a Boxing Fantasy Camp, Barber Shop éphémère, Jack Johnson Exhibit, Icons of Boxing, L'héritage existe Fonds de bourses Joe Frazier, Sculptures de James O’Neal, Gâteau roi des reines, Exposition de la presse d'Atlantic City, WBC Boxing, Vendeurs de nourriture et musique par DJ Young Hitta.

GILROY, Californie. (Novembre. 7, 2017) – Unbeaten Colombian power-puncher Janer Gonzalez (19-0-1, 15 KOs) takes a major step up in competition when he faces unbeaten Russian prospect Radjab Butaev (7-0, 6 KOs; WSOB: 9-1) ce vendredi, Novembre. 10, at the Masonic at Templelive Cleveland in downtown Cleveland. The scheduled eight-round welterweight bout will be telecast on the popular ShoBox: La Nouvelle Génération series LIVE on SHOWTIME (10 p.m. ET/PT, retardés sur la côte ouest).
Gonzalez, who is coached by Ruben Guerrero Sr., recently shared his training camp experience as his showdown with Butaev nears. Gonzalez, who is making his United States and SHOWTIME debut, last fought in September of this year.

It’s been a great transition and training camp has been very productive. I’ve been sparring every other day since I got here. I’m in good shape and I’m ready to perform at my best ce vendredi.”
On facing undefeated Russian prospect Radzhab Butaev:
“I know I have a tough fight ahead of me, but I’m ready for the challenge. Butaev had a tremendous amateur career, but so did I. I have over 300 amateur fights under my belt and there is nothing Butaev will bring to the ring that I haven’t already seen. We equally have a lot of power, so the fans can expect to see some big shots being thrown by both of us. I’m going to leave everything in the ring come fight night.”
On making his U.S. debut and what a victory on Showtime will do for his career:
“Fighting on SHOWTIME is a tremendous blessing for me. This is my first fight in America and I going to make it special. The exposure I will get can take my career to the next level, especially if I come out victorious. A win will garner me some big fights and some big paydays. I’m fighting for my family and my countrymen in Colombia. My motivation is at an all-time high and the boxing world will know my name after this fight.

Tri-Star Boxing Promotions revient à Nashville en décembre 8

Nashville, TN (Novembre 7, 2017) – La sensation junior des poids mouches Edwin Reyes cherche sa quatrième victoire consécutive lorsqu'il défie Santos "Titos" Vasquez lors de l'événement principal de huit rounds des "Fights at the Fairgrounds" de Tri-Star Boxing Vendredi, Décembre 8 au Fairgrounds Sports Arena de Nashville.
Vivre et combattre hors de Nashville via le Guatemala, Reyes possède un solide 7-2-2 record avec cinq KO. Sur Septembre 15, Reyes a devancé l'ultra-expérimenté Armando Vasquez en huit rounds. Liam Smith vs. Liam Williams rematch To air in Canada exclusively on SUPER CHANNEL

EDMONTON, Canada (Novembre 6, 2017) – In its continuing efforts as the boxing network destination for Canadian boxing fans, Super Channel has announced that it has secured the exclusive rights to air the Liam “Beefy” Forgeron vs. Liam Williams rematch, ce samedi (Novembre. 11), live from Metro Radio Arena in New Castle, Royaume-Uni.
The replay of Smith vs. Williams I from this past April will also air on Super Channel ce vendredi(11 p.m. / 8 p.m. PT) et Samedi (1:45 p.m. ET / 10:45 a.m. PT).

Smith believes he was robbed of the opportunity to knockout Williams.

I can never be that bad again. What I did to try and make weight during fight week killed me. It was nothing to do with having a slow start by game plan. Williams, 25, has notable victories over Gabor Gorbics (22-4) for the vacant WBO European super middleweight title, et Gary Corcoran (15-0) for the BBBBofC British crown. The Welshman also was the Commonwealth (Empire britannique) 154-livre division titlist.
“Our first meeting was a good fight,” Williams a expliqué. “I felt like I started very well. I was out-boxing him and getting a lot of rounds in the bag. Sampson Boxing’s newest promotional signing, Argentinean amateur star and two-time Olympian, Alberto “Impacto” Melián, will be taking the “Lomachenko” route into the professional ranks by facing Diego Ricardo Santillan (23-2, 15 KOs) in an eight-round bout for his first professional fight on Samedi, Décembre 16, at the Macro Stadium of the Argentine Federation of Boxing (FAB) à Buenos Aires.
A formidable foe for anyone, the 30-year-old Santillan, from Tartagal, Salta, Argentine, is a former Argentina (FAB), WBC Mundo Hispano and South American Bantamweight Champion. Melian, cependant, has requested the fast track to a world championship and promoter Lewkowicz has agreed.
“Alberto is regarded as one of the best Argentine amateur boxers ever and he’s ready for the best of the professional ranks. We hope to have him fighting for a world championship within 10 combats,” a déclaré Lewkowicz.

BROOKLYN (Novembre. 5, 2017) – Undefeated heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder retained his WBC title in his sixth defense with a dominant first-round knockout of mandatory challenger Gold Cup dans l'événement principal de Showtime Championship Boxing Samedi night on SHOWTIME from Barclays Center, la maison de BROOKLYN BOXE®.
Wilder (39-0, 38 KO) knocked Stiverne (25-3-1, 21 KOs) to the ground three times before referee Arthur Mercante halted the bout at 2:59 de la manche d'ouverture. Wilder first knocked Stiverne to the ground with a devastating one-two combination that caught the Haitian challenger on the nose. Seconds after Stiverne got back to his feet, Wilder landed another clean combination with a big left and an overhand right that sent a stunned Stiverne back to the canvas. The final blow came in the waning moments of the opening round as Wilder landed four clean punches to the face of a wobbly Stiverne.
“You have to give props to Stiverne for getting in the ring,” Saïd Wilder. “It takes a lot of courage and it takes a lot of pride to step in the ring with someone like me. We do what we have to do in the ring and at least he stepped up. He was a clean fighter.”
After the brutal knockout, an emotional Wilder was asked by SHOWTIME Sports®reporter Jim Gray about a possible fight with unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
“I’ve been waiting on that fight for a long time now,” Saïd Wilder. “I declare war upon you. Do you accept my challenge? I’ve been waiting for a long time. I know I’m the champion. I know I’m the best. Are you up for the test?
“A king doesn’t chase the peasants. A king takes kings. I want Joshua. If he doesn’t give me the fight we have other plans. The world wants Joshua, the world wants Wilder, I want Joshua. Joshua come and see me baby. No more dodging, no more excuses. Make the date, don’t wait.”
Former welterweight world champion Shawn Porter (28-2-1, 17 KOs) vaincu Adrian Granados (18-6-2, 11 KOs) par décision unanime (marqué 117-111 par les trois juges) in an exciting fight between two all-action competitors that served as the co-featured event of SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING. The victory makes Porter the mandatory title challenger for unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman’s WBC belt.
Porter, who injured his left hand in the sixth round, landed the sharper and more accurate punches throughout the fight, y compris 40 pour cent de ses coups de puissance. Both fighters came out aggressive in the early rounds and exchanged several powerful blows.

The back-and-forth 12-round world championship fight saw Lipinets control the early rounds with a diversified, creative attack targeting Kondo’s body. An accidental clash of heads in the sixth round, which opened up a deep cut on the forehead of Lipinets, altered the momentum of the fight as Kondo gained confidence and was able to land some powerful punches to the head and body of Lipinets. The 28-year old Lipinets, who earned the title in just his 13e professional fight, was able to regain control in the later rounds to earn the unanimous win.
“I think the scorecards were accurate but it was a good fight,” Saïd Lipinets. “The head-butt really impaired my vision and it led to me walking into some stupid shots.
“I’m happy with my performance. I’m just going to keep getting better from here. I’m ready to take any on challenge thrown my way.”
Kondo, who was fighting for the first time in the United States, proved a worthy opponent on the night. “It was a fair decision,” said Kondo, through a translater. “He hit me with a lot of hard punches and I felt like I needed at least a knockdown in the last round.
“I made up my mind that I wasn’t going to show any pain or fear from his punches. I was determined to keep fighting all night.”

POUR DIFFUSION IMMÉDIATE: Portland, Maine (Novembre 3, 2017) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) a fait ses débuts tant attendus à Portland, Maine Samedi nuit devant une foule à guichets fermés à Aura.

Dans l'événement principal de la soirée, favori de la ville natale Paul Gorman (11-9) a pris James Blair (5-2) dans un concours de poids de 130 livres. La foule était au bord de son siège collectif pour une guerre à trois tours passionnante qui sera définitivement “combat de l'année” candidat pour 2017. Gorman a retiré la décision unanime sur les juges’ tableaux de bord.

Le John toujours populaire “Première classe” Rayon (3-8) retourné dans la cage du NEF après une retraite de trois ans. Rayon a fait face à un jeu Zenon Herrera (0-6) et est sorti avec la victoire au troisième tour quand Herrera a tiré sur un étranglement à guillotine.

Sur le côté amateur de la carte, trois nouveaux champions ont été couronnés. Terrance Jean-Jacques (3-0) est devenu le nouveau champion poids lourd amateur du NEF avec une victoire unanime sur le champion en titre Nick Gulliver (4-1). Justin Witham (4-4) est le nouveau tenant du titre des poids mouches après avoir battu Nate Boucher (2-1) par décision partagée. Hilarie Rose (5-3) est entrée dans l'histoire en tant que première championne féminine de l'histoire de la promotion en remportant le titre de champion de paille contre Alex Walker (4-2).

Jayda Bailey a fixé deux jalons tôt dans la nuit (1-0) est devenu le plus jeune combattant à sortir victorieux de la cage du NEF, tandis que Garry Carr (1-0) a pris l'honneur du plus ancien combattant à avoir jamais gagné dans la cage du NEF. Bailey se tourna 18 seulement huit jours avant l'événement. Carr est 56 ans jeune.
