“BATTLE BORN BOXING” Amateur series returns to Downtown Las Vegas Events Center

LAS VEGAS (Mei 16, 2016) -“Battle Born Boxing: Uprising II” is on tap Friday night, Mei 20, starting at 7 p.m. PT, at the outdoor Centrum van Las Vegas Events Center. “Battle Born Boxing” is an amateur boxing series created by Neon Star Media on behalf of its client, het D Las Vegas, to support amateur boxing in Nevada, as well as provide a platform for amateur boxers from other states to compete against local clubs and boxers.
Las Vegas-based boxing clubs represented at “Battle Born Boxing: Uprising II” includes Barry’s Boxing, Richard Steel Boxing Club and Johnny Tocco’s Ringside Boxing.
“Battle Born Boxing” was successfully launched April 15 and the amateur boxing series will continue the night before each of the “Knockout Night at the D” series professional boxing events, airing live throughout 2016 on CBS Sports Network from the DLVEC.

LAS VEGAS (Mei 13, 2016) – Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boksen Promotions en Neon Star Media hebben extra pit toegevoegd voor de volgende twee shows, beveiligen Idee Design Studio als hoofdsponsor voor de komende twee “Knockout Night at the D” events, Mei 21 en juni 10, bij de Centrum van Las Vegas Events Center(DLVEC) buiten locatie.
De “Knockout Night at the D” serie, gepresenteerd door het D Las Vegasen DLVEC, wordt gepromoot door Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boksen Promotions. De mei 21st evenement wordt gepromoot in samenwerking met Main Events en Shamo Boxing Promotions, Juni 10th in samenwerking met James Toney Promotions.

Teenage sensation Devin “De droom” Haney Making national television debut May 21 Live on CBS Sports Network outdoors from DLVEC
 LAS VEGAS (Mei 5, 2016) – Lightweight sensation Devin “De droom” Haney (5-0, 3 KO) is a boxing prodigy. The gifted 17-year-old boxer, uitvechten van Las Vegas, will make his national television debut May 21, thuis, op de “Knockout Night at the D” kaart.

Haney (hieronder afgebeeld) is a 7-time national amateur champion, who captured a gold medal at the 2015 Jeugd Wereldkampioen, but he was unable to try-out for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team because of his age. When headgear was eliminated from Olympic boxing competition, the minimum age for a U.S. boxer to compete in the Olympics was changed to 19, so Haney decided to turn pro at the age of 17 rather than wait four more years.  After having four successful fights in Tijuana, Mexico, Haney’s license was approved by the Nevada Athletic Commission and he won an impressive 4-round decision over Rafael Vazquez this past April 9th op de Manny-Pacauiao-Timothy Bradley IIIshow at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Also scheduled to fight on the undercard in 4-round bouts are Las Vegas junior lightweight Randy Moreno (2-0, 1 KO) vs. Texan Chris Turtun (1-2), and Las Vegas welterweight Jeremy “J-Flash” Nichols (3-0, 2 KO) vs. TBA.

Canadian welterweight Steve “De draak” Claggett (23-3-1, 16 KO) and former IBO champion Chris “De Hitte” Van Heerden (23-1-1, 12 KO),, fighting out of his native South Africa by way of Santa Monica, Californië, square off in 12-round main event.
Zaterdag “Knockout Night at the D” event will air (8 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. EN) live op CBS Sports Network from under the neon lights at the DLVEC outdoor venue.
Undefeated California welterweight Neeco “Rooster” Macias (11-0, 4 KO) faces former Chicago Golden Gloves champion Limberth “Bliksem” Ponce, Jr. (10-2, 8 KO), of Rock Island, Illinois, in the 8-round co-feature.
A Baltimore welterweight, ongeslagen Malik “Alpinist” Hawkins (6-0, 5 KO), is in the first televised bout in a six-rounder versus New Orleans’ Errol Sidney (6-1-2, 2 KO). Jones signed Hawkins to a promotional contract after watching the youngster spar impressively, displaying tremendous power.

LAS VEGAS (April 8, 2016) -Neon Star Media, on behalf of its client, het D Las Vegas, today announced the formation of a new amateur boxing series, “Battle Born Boxing.”
De “Battle Born Boxing” series will present amateur boxing events the night before each of the “Knockout Night at the D” series professional events, airing live on CBS Sports Network from the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC).
Created to support amateur boxing in Nevada, “Battle Born Boxing” also provides a platform for amateur boxers from other states to compete against local clubs and boxers.
The inaugural event, “Battle Born Boxing: Uprising”, zal plaatsvinden Vrijdag nacht, April 15 (vanaf 7 p.m. PT), outdoors at the Centrum van Las Vegas Events Center.
“We are thrilled to add this new component to our ‘Knockout Night at the D’ serie,” zei Derek Stevens, CEO of the D and DLVEC. “We are always seeking new ways to support Las Vegas businesses, and this event will truly give local boxing amateurs, programs and gyms a moment in the spotlight.”

“This is blowing up big,” added event coordinator Dawn Berry. “Derek Stevens is one of the nicest, most honest people I’ve met in this business. He loves boxing and really wants to do this series. I’ve worked with Derek before and he’s so easy to deal with. Derek has always supported amateur boxing and we’re so grateful because it really helps the community. We’ve had a huge turnout of so many people who want to be involved that I’ve had to cutback the number of matches to 15 of 20. We have some boxers coming from New Mexico and California. The next date is May 20th and we have boxers coming here from Arizona for that show. It’s a great venue for boxing, te.”
