NEW EBORACUM – Aprilis 18, 2018 – Combate Americas today announced a live Univision Deportes Network (UDN) telecast, as well as the complete 10-bout fight card for the “Combate Estrellas II” Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) extravaganza at Gimnasio Nuevo Leon in Monterrey, Mexico on Friday, Aprilis 20.

 

Vivunt, 90-minute UDN telecast of “Combate Estrellas II,” which will be headlined by a previously announced, highly-anticipated bantamweight (135 libras) rematch between world-ranked superstar and Monterrey native Erik “Goyito” Perez (17-6), and hard-hitting finisher David “D.J.” Fuentes (13-10) of the U.S., Incipit 12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT, and will follow the live stream of Combate Americas’ preliminary bout card, incipientibus ab Hierosolyma 8 p.m. ET / V p.m. PT, on UnivisionDeportes.com.

 

Fuentes, who fights out of McAllen, Texas, defeated Perez by way of third round (3:01) deditionem (armlock) when the two met on May 28, 2010.

 

In a new bantamweight (135 libras) co-main event, Victor “Periquito” Madrigal (6-1) Guadalaiarensis, Mexico, will replace “COPA COMBATE” tournament winner Levy Saul Marroquin of Monterrey, Mexico, who has withdrawn due to illness, against fellow fast-rising star Alejandro “Gallito” Flores (11-1) of Monterrey.

 

Leading off the three-bout, live televised main card, undefeated strawweight (115 libras) knockout artifex Melissa “Super Mely” Martinez (3-0) Mexicopolis, Mexico, will collide with fellow, hard-hitting Muay Thai stylist Ivanna Martinenghi (4-1) de Buenos Aires, Argentina.

 

Martinez was originally slated to face Francis Hernandez of Puerto Rico.

 

In other action announced for Combate Estrellas II,” prolific finisher Marcelo “Pitbull” Rojo (13-5) of Cordoba, Argentina, cum dividentur Fabian Galvan (8-3) of Monterrey in a bantamweight contest.

Enrique “Locote” Gonzalez (6-1) of Monterrey will collide with Oscar Suarez (4-1) of Santa Cruz Tenerife, Hispania, in a bantamweight tilt.

Jose Luis “El Pistolero” Medrano (5-2) of Monterrey will battle Daniel “Aureum Boy” Zellhuber (5-0) Mexicopolis.

 

Also in the card, Mexican Muay Thai fighter Lezly Hinojosa Compean (0-0) will make her debut under the MMA rules against Spanish superstar Irene Cabello Rivera (7-5) of Barcelona, Spain in an atomweight (105 libras) finis.

Los Angeles (Aprilis 11, 2018) – Combate Americas, the premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise, today announced a trio of lineup changes, including a new bantamweight (135 libras) principale eventus inter John “Sexi Mexi” Castaneda (16-3) of the U.S. atque Jose “El Pochito” Alday (10-3) in Mexico, for “Combate Estrellas I,” live on Univision and Univision Deportes Network (UDN) from Los Angeles on Friday, Aprilis 13.

 

 

 

The 90-minute, live Univision (12 a.m. ATQUE/12 a.m. PT) and UDN (12 a.m. ATQUE/9 p.m. PT) broadcast of “Combate Estrellas I” from The Shrine marks Univision Deportes’ first-ever live MMA program.

 

 

Originally slated to face off with rival Castaneda in the headlining bout, Marc “Lufo” Gomez was declared medically unfit to compete due to a detached retina that was discovered during the pre-fight physical exam required by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC).

 

 

 

In the women’s flyweight (125 libras) co-main event, five-division world boxing champion Amanda "In Verus fac" Serrano (0-0), representing Puerto Rico, will battle a new opponent in veteran Corina Herrera (3-4) of the U.S., after Serrano’s original opponent, Erendira “Aketzaly” Ordonez of Mexico was unable to secure a work visa for the commitment.

NEW YORK – APRIL 6, 2018 - Combate Americas today announced the signing of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Featherweight (145 libras) star Gaston “Tonga” Reyno (7-2) ad nimia, multi-year promotional contract.

 

The 5-foot-10, 31-year-old Reyno, who hails from Montevideo, Uruguay, will make his promotional debut for Combate Americas on a May date to be announced soon.

 

“We are proud to welcome Gaston Reyno, one of the most exciting fighters from South America, to the Combate Americas roster,” said Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren.

 

Reyno is a seasoned, multiple-time champion in Muay Thai, kickboxing and Tae Kwon Do, and has competed across four different continents – North America, South America, Australia et Asia.

The long-awaited mixed martial arts (MMA) debut of professional boxing five-division world champion, Amanda Serrano (0-0) had an opponent change, but of better quality.

 

 

 

 

Serrano was scheduled to face Mexican Erendira “Aketzaly” Ordóñez (2-1), but due to visa issues, the new opponent is now Californian Corina Herrera (3-4) in a three-round fight at the flyweight division (125 libras).

 

 

 

 

 

Serrano-Herrera will take place on Friday, April 13th at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, and will feature simultaneous live broadcasts on Univision and Univision Deportes at midnight (12:00 am Eastern Time / 9:00 pm Pacific Time).

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Herrera has fought on the big scenarios and has never been defeated by knockout or submission. She has good stamina, her fights are exciting, she has good defense and has already fought in different weights from 115 pounds to 135. I only hope that our fight is a great fight for all the demanding MMA fans and of course, for my boricua people who are my heart and soul,” said Serrano.

The agreement marks the first time ever that Univision Deportes will produce and distribute live MMA programming and, in 2018, will include a total of 16 television airings, beginning with a live, 90-minute broadcast on Univision (12am ET/ 12am PT) and UDN (12am ET/ 9pm PT) of the recently announced “Combate Estrellas I” show at Shrine in Los Angeles, Ill. on Friday, Aprilis 13.

NEW YORK – February 28, 2018 – Combate Americas today announced“Combate Estrellas I," the premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise’s first live television event of 2018, and the first event of a two-part series featuring a collection of Combate Americas’ top estrellas, or “stars,” that will take place at Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, Ill. on Friday, Aprilis 13.
