In 1997, Kathy captured the IFBA welterweight title and added the IWBF junior welterweight crown later that same year, poi, she dropped down to the lightweight division to successfully challenge for the IWBF championship. Collins became the first fighter to simultaneously own world titles in the WIBF, IFBA, and IWBF.
