WBO News – Headline Matches For This Weekend

Světová boxová organizace (WBO) will oversee seven headline bouts around the world this weekend, two of which are for world titles.

 

 

 

Starting Friday, Červen 8, Verona, New York, WBO number one ranked Junior Featherweight Diego De La Hoya (20-0, 9 KO) will defend his NABO 122 lbs title against José “Cukr” Salgado (35-4-2, 28 KO) in a 10-round duel. The bout is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and will go on stage at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in the aforementioned city.

 

 

 

The fight will be televised live on ESPN3, začíná na 9:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). ESPN2 will air the fights at 12:30 a.m. ET/9:30 p.m. PT. and ESPN Deportes will air the fights the following day at 9:00 p.m. A / 6:00 p.m. PT.

V sobotu, Červen 9 v Argentině, Facundo Galovar (10-2-1, 7 KO), of Tucumán, and Rolando Mansilla (13-5-1, 5 KO), of Entre Ríos, will face off for the vacant WBO Latino Super Middleweight belt in a scheduled 10 round bout. The card will take place at the Club Atlético Central Córdoba in San Miguel, as part of an event promoted by Argentina Boxing Promotions.

 

 

 

Also on Saturday, but in the Philippines, two WBO Jr. Featherweight title bouts will take place, when local pugilist Jeo “Santino” Santisima (15-2, 13 KO) faces Likit Chane (16-6, 10 KO), from Thailand, for the vacant WBO Oriental 122 lbs belt, and local Albert Pagara (29-1, 20 KO), který je zařazen Žádný. 9 by WBO, battles Laryea Gabriel Odoi (20-3-2, 14 KO), Ghana, for the vacant Inter-Continental Junior Featherweight title. WBO #12-rated Buitrago (30-3-1, 17 KO) has had four unsuccessful title challenges, losing three times, along with one draw. He was stopped for the first time in his last fight this past December, by undefeated International Boxing Federation (IBF) Minimumweight World Champion Hiroto Kyoguchi (8-0), in the eighth round of their title fight in Japan.

He is a raw boxer who relies only on the strength of his blows. I don’t believe that he will bring anything new into the ring and if they change him, the only thing that will accomplish is confuse him. I’m always emphasising my preparation. I’m coming in smart because I’m bringing the ability to work round for round. My only objective is to bring the world championship to Nicaragua.

Světová boxová organizace (WBO), předsedal Francisco 'Paco' Valcárcel, tento nadcházející víkend bude mít sedm bojů v různých částech světa.

V Austrálii, při populární australské Liam Paro bude duel nebijáků (13-0, 9 KO) čelí Sebastian Bytyqi (11-0-1, 8 KO) České republiky za volné místo WBO Youth Jr. Welterweight titul. Boj je naplánováno na 10 a bude se konat v Southport Sharks AFL Clubu v Southportu.

Německo, United States and Latvia Play Host to WBO Bouts

Světová boxová organizace (WBO), chaired by Francisco “Paco” Valcárcel, will celebrate five interesting title fights; two of which are for world championships. The bouts will take place this Saturday, Květen 12.

 

 

 

Brooklyn native Saddam “World Kid” Ali (26-1, 14 KO), coming off the most important victory of his career against legendary Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto, makes the first defense of his WBO junior middleweight world title, when he faces the dangerous Mexican Jaime Munguía (28-0, 24 KO). The fight will take place at the Turning Stone Resort & Kasino ve Veroně, New York. The fight will be televised live on HBO at 10:00 p.m. A.

 

 

 

“We will have a lot of activity this Saturday from the WBO. You have to pay close attention to the performance of the huge puncher Jaime Munguía, who will face a good attacker like Ali. It’s going to be a classic fight of puncher against a boxer. If Munguía wins, he would be placed on a select list of great Mexican boxers who have been world champions at or before 21 years of age”, řekl Valcárcel.

 

 

 

In Augsburg, Německo, women’s boxing takes the stage when the popular former world champion Nikki Adler (16-1, 9 KO) of Germany and the world contender Femke Hermans (6-1, 3 KO) of Belgium, face each other for the vacant WBO world belt of the super middleweight division. The fight will be in the Eisstadion in Augsburg.

In Latvia, three WBO International titles will be in play in 12-round duels in an evening at the Riga Arena. For the vacant International junior middleweight belt, the 13th ranked Ismail Iliev (10-0-1, 3 KO) of Nazran, Russia will face Konstantin Ponomarev (33-0, 13 KO) of Miass, Rusko.

Lenin Castillo získal zlato WBO v Ponce, Portoriko

Ponce, Portoriko – Bývalý dominikánský olympionik Lenin Castillo (18-1-1, 13 KO) vyhrál působivým způsobem neobsazený titul v polotěžké váze WBO/NABO. Castillo porazil Aarona “Vražda” Mitchell (27-3-1, 21 KO) z Floridy technickým knockoutem v 10. a posledním kole.

 

 

 

 

V důsledku vítězství, Castillo se nyní zařadí mezi nejlepší 175 librových bojovníků ve WBO.

Former Olympian Lenin Castillo (17-1-1, 12 KO) from the Dominican Republic has signed with new Puerto Rican management company, Spartan Boxing Club, on his mission to be part of the big stages in boxing.

 

 

 

 

Spartan Boxing Club President Raul Pastrana stated that “We are already planning to put Castillo on Duben 7 card in San Juan, Portoriko, where Angel Acosta will defend his WBO world title, and we are currently in the process of looking for a quality opponent together with a regional title to rank Castillo in the top positions in order to get a greater fight by the end of the year”.

 

 

 

 

“I signed with Spartan Boxing because they have an incredible platform and a work plan that I understand will be effective for my long-term career. I’m crazy to get back the ring to show that I deserve to be on the big stages and what better way to start this new path in front of my dear Puerto Rican people whom make me feel at home every time I go there” said Castillo who at the amateur boxing level won gold medals at the Jr. Pan American Games and José ‘Cheo’ Aponte International Tournament, and competed at the Olympic Games at welterweight category in Beijing, Čína.

González, 34 Toa Baja, Puerto Rico má rekord 24-2 s 19 průchodky.
González vyhrál svůj první 19 záchvaty s vítězstvími nad Osenohan Vázquez (1-0), Eric Cruz (5-1-2), Hector Marengo (5-0-4) & Edgardo Soto (12-2).
Června 3, 2011, González získal titul WBO Latino odlehčené s 6. kole zastavení přes Gerardo Cuevas.
González udělal pět úspěšných obranu před výzvou WBO lehké mistr světa Ricky Burns května 11, 2013.
