AGUASCALIENTES, MX (Lub ob hlis ntuj 19, 2018) – No lawm Hnub vas xaum, at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, TX, Sugar Promotions light-heavyweight prospect, HumbertoTitoVelazco (19-1-1, 14 KOs), scored the knockout of the night, against ThomasTop DogWilliams Jr. (20-4, 14 KOs).
Velazco, who hails from Aguascalientes, Mexico, rallied from an early first round knockdown, which was more of an off-balance circumstance. Velazco wasn’t hurt and evened the score in the second round with his own knockdown, catching Williams with a short right to the face, a punch he didn’t see coming. Williams survived the round but was walking on wobbly legs. Now in a rhythm, Velazco’s timing was on point as he sent Williams to the deck for the second time in round three, this time hurting him badly with combination of punches. Williams survived once again only to be stopped in round four when Velazco, a heavy-handed southpaw, blasted him with a straight left, forcing the referee to stop the bout at the 1:37 mark.
It was a great feeling to get a knockout in my first fight in the united states,” said Humberto Velazco, who is managed by Greg Hannley of Prince Ranch Boxing. “When I got up from the knockdown I wasn’t hurt, but it definitely woke me up. When I dropped Williams, I knew he was hurt, but the round ended. I knew I had to step it up and I got him out of there. I’m ready to fight all the big names at light-heavyweight and super-middleweight. Adonis Stevenson, Sergey Kovalev, Dmitry Bivol thiab Artur Beterbiev are at the top. I want their belts, so they are on my target list.
A genetic freak, Velaszco stands slightly over 6″1, and has a rare combination of speed and power. His athletic pedigree runs in the family as his brother is a professional basketball player.
When I first saw Velazco in the gym, I knew he was something special,” Hais Oscar Vazquez, CEO of Sugar Promotions. “He has great feet for a big man and showed he can bang with the best of them. I’m very grateful to the folks at PBC, who gave us the opportunity to fight on this card. I believe Velazco will be the next big star to come out of Mexico.
Velazco is a super athletic fighter with a great personality.said Prince Ranch Boxing’s Greg Hannley. “His final knockdown was amazing. We have big plans for Tito and everyone on boxing will know his name soon.
Velazco vs. Williams Jr. was showcased on the PBC card headlined by Victor Ortiz vs. Devon Alexander. Look for Velaszco to be back in the ring by summer, most likely in his hometown of Aguascalientes, Mexico.

QUEBEC CITY (Lub Xya hli ntuj 30, 2016) – Light heavyweight world champion AdonisSupermanStevenson (28-1, 23 KOs) delivered a highlight reel knockout victory over ThomasTop DoggWilliams Jr. (20-2, 14 KOs) in the fourth-round of an exciting main event showdown on Premier Boxing Champions rau Spike Hnub vas Xuv night from Centre Videotron in Quebec City, Canada.
It was a firefight,” said Stevenson. “He put pressure on me so I decided to put pressure on him too. It was a fight with two guys who could punch and it was spectacular. It was my daughter’s birthday and I gave her a great gift.
The defending champion Stevenson, fighting in his adopted hometown, put Williams down in round one with a straight left hand. Williams was able to recover and began to fire back in round two. However, Stevenson’s jab consistently sent Williams backtracking, while Williams abandoned the jab and attempted to cut the distance with power punches from difficult angles. Williams staggered the world champion several times, using an effective counter right hand while getting the best of many exchanges.
Both men were hurt in an exciting third round that saw momentum swing in each man’s favor before the bell rang to end the round. A cut opened up over the left eye of Williams in the end of the round that was tended to in his corner. Williams hit the canvas as a result of a low blow early in the fourth, but regained his footing shortly after.
The notorious power puncher Stevenson eventually landed the deciding blow of the night when he caught Williamschin hanging in the pocket and delivered a straight left hand that put the challenger to the floor. The Washington, DC area-native was unable to recover, prompting referee Michael Griffin to stop the bout 2:54 into the fourth round.
Additional televised action saw rising middleweight contendersImmanuwel Aleem (16-0-1, 9 KOs) thiab Demond Nicholson (17-1-1, 16 KOs) fight to a majority draw in their eight-round bout.
Neither fighter was able to control of the fight with Nicholson attempting to use his length and jab while Aleem tried to cut the distance and attack with short punches. Nicholson appeared to have the more effective attack in the early rounds, while Aleem began to have more success as the fight shifted to toe-to-toe action in the second half of the fight.
The judgesscores reflected the close nature of the fight as one judge had it 77-74 for Aleem while the other two judges had it a 76-76 draw.
The televised opener saw EleiderStormAlvarez (20-0, 10 KOs) keep his perfect record intact with a unanimous decision victory over New Zealand’s Robert Berridge (27-5, 21 KOs) in a 10-round light heavyweight affair.
I am happy with the win, but I would have liked a knockout! He was tough, but he did not hurt me at all and I thought that I hurt him. I am ready for my next challenge, which will hopefully be a world title fight.
The top-rated contender for Stevenson’s title, Alvarez established his jab early on while attacking the body of Berridge with right hooks. Alvarez continued to control the fight from a distance as Berridge was slow to begin increasing his output before he started putting the pressure on in round five.
The southpaw Berridge was able to land occasionally on Alvarez with a looping left hand, but never put the undefeated fighter in danger. Alvarez began to have more success varying up his attack with right uppercuts and hooks that eventually left Berridge’s right eye swollen and bruised.
Alvarez took home the decision by scores of 99-90 thiab 98-92 twice.

BILOXI, MISS. (November 13) – In a telecast showcasing four fights that lasted a total of 13 rounds with 11 knockdowns and four knockouts, boxing fans were treated to a night of sensational Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Spike action from the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Miss. The evening culminated with an unforgettable all out war between light heavyweights Edwin Rodriguez thiab Michael ntsaws ruaj ruaj.
Rodriguez came out swinging from the first bell, dropping Seals in the first 30 seconds of the bout with a hard left. Seals hit the canvas, got back on his feet and dropped Rodriguez not even 30 seconds later. Nrog 10 seconds to go in the first round, Seals dropped Rodriguez again, putting round one in the running forRound of the Year.
Both combatants were slightly cautious coming out of their respective corners in the second round, but it was Rodriguez who dropped Seals with a right hand late in the round and continued to hurt him with punches heading into the end of round two. The fight was stopped 24 seconds into round three when Rodriguez pounded Seals with a right hand that sent him thundering to the canvas causing the crowd in Biloxi to go wild and putting the bout in the conversation forFight of the Year.
Rodriguez said of his performance:
Seals was really tough. I knew he was tough going into it, but he proved it hmo no. He threw hard punches, but I did what champions do. I got back up. Anyone can go down in a fight, but its if you get back up and how you get back up that matters. Sh*t happens. You just have to keep on fighting. Just like in lifeyou have to be able to get back up.
He caught me with some good shots, but in the end, I was able to finish him off.
It was a great fight. It feels great. We were both in tremendous shape. My hat goes off to Michael Seals. We gave the fans a great show.

Seals, who complained of dislocating his shoulder following the punch that first sent Rodriguez to the canvas, is hungry for a rematch saying:
Every time I threw my jab it landed, but I dislocated my shoulder in the first round. I had him with my punches. If I had all my tools, there is no way he could have beat me.
I had him beat in the second round. I know it. I felt like the ref was going to stop it. If he stopped it with me, why didn’t he stop it with him?
It was a great fight. He is a tough guy. I want a rematch. Please give it to me.
In the quick, yet action-packed televised opener that saw three knockdowns in less than two rounds, Thomas ❏ Jr ❏ Hmong/Williams.scored an exciting second round TKO over Humberto Savigne in a light heavyweight showdown.
Williams Jr. asserted his excellence to begin the second round, knocking down Savigne with a series of punches. Savigne was able to make it to his feet only to be backed up against the ropes as Williams Jr. continued throwing flurries of punches that caused referee Keith Hughes to wave off the match in minute 1:48.
I’m very happy with my performance,” said Williams Jr. “I haven’t been in the ring in 11 months and I was ready. It felt a little different. That played a small part into me getting knocked down. I came back and fought someone with a lot of power. For me to come back and fight a fighter like him shows a lot.
[On being knocked down in the first round] “I wasn’t paying attention. I wasn’t sticking to the game plan. I was trying to set something up and I got caught with a right. I was very surprised. It woke me up. He caught me going the wrong way. Threw a shot. It didn’t hurt me. It woke me up. I said ‘It’s time to go to work now.
I knew he was going to get cocky after he knocked me down and of course I took advantage of it.
After what he felt was a promising start, Savigne credited the quick ending on abandoning his game plan.
In the first round I felt like I was controlling the pace of the fight. There was a flash knockdown and I got right back up and knocked him down. I just got a little bit desperate. I went to slug him and should have maintained my distance.
The problem was, I got desperate. In my last couple of fights, I haven’t been able to focus.
I ended up making weight, but we missed our flight coming here and my whole schedule was thrown off. Not an excuse, but it definitely played into my performance hmo no.”
Unbeaten welterweight prospect Bryant Perrella got an opportunity to showcase his skills as part of the Spike telecast and did not waste a moment making an impression. Seconds after the opening bell tolled, Perrella (12-0, 10 KOs) landed a crushing right to the body of Chaquib Fadli, sending him to the canvas, resulting in a first round TKO.
I’m just happy I got the job done,” said Perrella. “We did what we had to doadjust, adapt and take care of business. This is my time and my destiny. Nothing is going to stop me from achieving my dreams.
In the fight immediately before the main event, powerful middleweight Fernando Guerrero scored an exciting 7th round TKO over Brazilian puncher Daniel Souza Santos in an action-packed fight that saw fists flying from the opening bell. But it was a quick barrage of punches that sent Souza Santos to the canvas. Despite being able to stand, the referee waved off the bout.
For me, this fight was all about preparation,” said Guerrero. “When you go through trials and tribulations, you grow as a fighter and as a person. I have the best team around me now. I’ve been eating, breath and living boxing and it showed hmo no.”

Rodriguez and Seals arrived to the Mississippi Gulf Coast Hnub peb and had a lot to say about Hnub vas Xuvnight’s matchup.
EDWIN RODRIGUEZ
This guy [Michael ntsaws ruaj ruaj] is undefeated. That’s one challenge. His mentality. He doesn’t know how to lose. I need to come out and convince him that he can. That’s the first battle. You need to convince them, it’s time for you to lose now, I’m better than you.
He has a good jab and good power. I need to be aware that he can punch.
I have a nutritionist that I see every three weeks. I couldn’t make weight when I was going to fight Andre Ward. Making weight takes a lot of dedication.
Going into my fight with Andre Ward, my mentality was changed. You already lost to the scale before you even stepped in the ring. It’s your body telling you that you can’t make weight, you can’t do it anymore. It does bother you.
I refuse to blame my loss on anything. I think he was a better fighter that night. I’m trying to make my mark at 175 and maybe down the road, I can get a rematch against him.
MICHAEL SEALS
Fighting so close to home means everything to me. This is the biggest fight of my career and I’m going to take advantage of this opportunity.
My whole life, I feel like I’ve been destined for greatness and this is my chance.
I remember coming to the Beau Rivage as a kid with my dad and I would look at this big building and tell him that I was going to stay in a room here when I grew up and now my name is on the marquee. Its a dream come true.
Edwin is an experienced fighter. He’s fought some great opposition but he has a loss on his record. I do not and its going to stay that way on November 13.
I train smart. I have a degree in physical education which has taught me some different training techniques that you can’t learn in a gym.
A win on Friday means another step toward a world title shot. That is the goal. To fight for a world title and I have to beat Edwin Rodriguez to get it. He is standing in my way.
I got my ring name ‘Cannonhandzas an amateur when I started boxing at a community center and there were a lot of little kids there. They would hear me hit the mitts or the bag and say ‘When you punch, it sounds like there are cannons shooting out of your gloves,’ and it has stuck ever since.
I can’t wait for Hnub vas Xuv hmo ntuj. This is my chance and to be able to keep my undefeated record and take down someone with a known name in the sport so close to my hometown of Mobile is a blessing.

SAMMY VASQUEZ
He was real wild and the last thing I wanted was to get caught with a lucky shot. His body was wide open every time he came with the right hand. When he came in with the double right hand he left his ribs wide open.
I wanted to key-in on the body, but his head was right there. He bent over and was ready to take punches.
I was ready for him and I put the speed combo on him and it was over. I knew I was going to get him out of there.
I rolled with the punches with him. He was leaving himself wide open. He got tired after he tried to get me on the ropes. Once I popped him with a couple uppercuts and a hook, I knew I hurt him.
He came forward, he was very tough. He just wanted to punish me but I keyed in on my opportunities and got him out of there.
I knew I could get him out of there because of the type of fighter that he is and the skill-set that I have and that’s what we did.
Everybody in front of me is on my mind. I can only get to the top by beating the people in front of me. I’m not calling out any names, because I want every person ranked in front of me. I want everyone.
JOSE LOPEZ
I wanted to attack the body and put some pressure on him from the first round.
He moved very well side-to-side. He is a very good boxer.
I am very disappointed. I came here to win.
OMAR DOUGLAS
The jab is always a great weapon for me. He gave me more head movement after I was landing the jab. I tried to use the jab to the body and hurt him a few times. He was so short I had trouble throwing body shots.
On the second knockdown I feinted the jab and got him with the left hook. I should have done that all night. There were a lot of opportunities for me.
It was a tough fight. It was the kind of fight that I needed. I haven’t had a tough fight like that in a long time.
He laid in the middle, a bit of a rough guy. He was head butting, pulling and everything. When we got inside we banged heads a lot. The ref was saying I was hitting on the top of the head, but he was coming in so low.
I’ve done much better work before, he definitely gave me a tough fight, but I expected it.
I want to fight guys with winning records. I expect tough fights. I’m 15-0 now and I expect challenges.
BRAULIO SANTOS
It was a hard fight. I’m not sure that I won, but I thought it was closer.
I didn’t have that long to train and this is not a weight I usually fight at. I’d like to fight him again and have more time to prepare.
