Rosario has been in the gym since age 10 but did not start to competing until he was 18. He then embarked on a 28 fight amateur career.
The full-time corrections officer is taking his boxing career one step at a time, but he is seeing improvement in every fight.

The differing styles left the judges with a decision to make in weighing the movement and technique of Douglas versus the aggression of Cherry.

Rosario was the more aggressive fighter in the early rounds, but it was Fulton who timed his opponent first and built up an early lead with a combination of check hooks and power punches. Fulton was patient against the attack-minded Rosario and was able to counter effectively while avoiding Rosario’s power punches.
Fulton continued to have success in the middle rounds as Rosario’s attack slowed, but the Puerto Rican fighter came out with an increased level of aggression in round seven and tagged Fulton during several exciting exchanges.
Despite the increasing pressure, Fulton was able to stay composed and fend off Rosario over the final two rounds on his way to winning a unanimous decision by scores of 78-74, 79-73 na 80-72.
The opening bout of the telecast saw Bethlehem’s Frank DeAlba (22-2-2, 9 Kos) score a unanimous decision over Ryan Kielczweski (26-3, 8 Kos) katika nane mzima super featherweight bout.
The hometown fighter got off to a slow start as Kielczweski appeared to control the early rounds using his movement and tagging the southpaw with right hands. DeAlba began to work on the inside of his opponent and found more success starting in the fourth round.

“I thought it was a close fight that could have gone either way. I blocked a lot of his punches with my gloves.”

The 26 year-old Nelson is a six-year professional who won his first 12 bouts with wins over Korey Sloane (1-0), Esteban Rodriguez (5-1-1) and Jerome Rodriguez (6-0-3).
The only two blemishes on the resume of Nelson are decisions losses to former world champion Mickey Bey (21-1-1) and to Alejandro Luna (20-0). Nelson took the Luna bout on less than 24 hours notice.

BOXING DETAILS:

Keith Thurman (28-0, 22 Kos) of Clear Water, Fla., defeated Danny Garcia (33-1, 19 Kos) of Philadelphia via split decision to become the Unified Welterweight World Champion. The main event aired live on CBS and took place at Barclays Center, nyumba ya BROOKLYN BOXING™.

MARIO BARRIOS REMAINS UNDEFEATED WITH SIXTH-ROUND TKO

BROOKLYN, NY (Machi 5, 2017) – Last night at the Barclays Center in New York, San Antonio asili, Mario Barrios (18-0, 10 Kos), remained undefeated with a stellar performance, defeated his opponent Yardley Suarez (20-7, 11 Kos) by sixth round TKO.

The Orlando-native Lubin landed 47 percent of his power shots across four rounds of shutout boxing.
“I baited him with the jab. I knew he was going to come with the big shots early,” Lubin said to reporter Jim Gray. “I put a few tricks on him, I landed that overhand and it was night-night. I put my hands down to bait him in, I did a squat and then it was night-night. I was ready to follow-up with a right but he was already out.”
At just 21-years-old, Lubin now has an opportunity to become the youngest world champion in boxing today.
“That would mean a lot to me; that would mean a lot to Orlando, Florida,” Lubin said. “This is my second time knocking someone out in front of Ray Leonard. He’s one of my favorite fighters of all time. It’s an honor to do this on CBS.”
