CJ Ewer (3-0) is out to make history by becoming the first competitor to hold NEF championships simultaneously in multiple weight divisions. Ewer is the reigning NEF Pro Middleweight Champion. Also in professional welterweight action will be Mike “Ndi masharubu” Hansen (5-8) ndipo Jesse “The Viking” Erickson (9-7) in a fight billed asThe Berserker vs. The Viking.Hansen and Erickson have developed a rivalry as coaches of local gyms Berserkers MMA and Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ), ankalemekeza.

Speaking of which, Nate Boucher (2-1), a product of CMBJJ, ndipo Ryan Burgess (2-2) of Berserkers MMA will headline the amateur portion of the fight card. The flyweights, former teammates on the Mountain Valley High School wrestling squad, have engaged in a recent war of words heading into the bout. The winner will be in line for a shot at the amateur flyweight title later this spring.

After the Lemke defense, Boyington relinquished the championship in order to sign with the World Series of Fighting (WSOF).

While he has fought on many of the largest stages in the world over the past two years, including Madison Square Garden in New York City and halfway across the globe in Russia, Boyington is looking forward to his homecoming and the opportunity to once again fight before his many Maine fans.

“Man, I couldn’t possibly be more excited to get inside the NEF cage, where I have molded my career, built my fan base and learned so much about myself over the years,” Anati Boyington. “I am so hungry to entertain people that I can guarantee everyone will want to see what’s going down! I live for this, ndi pa February 3rd, there will be some of the best MMA that has ever been on display from the State of Maine, and I’m grateful and humbled by the opportunity. Boyington currently owns and operates Boyington’s Taekwondo of Bangor, Maine. He also trains with Young’s MMA in the same city.

The amateur portion of the card will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Nick “The Guardian” Gulliver (3-0) ndipo Yorgan Bergestro (2-2). LACEY TO FACE TOUGH CHALLENGE AT NEF 26

Lewiston, Maine (October 5, 2016) – New England Kumenyana (NEF) presents its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 26: Kutsogola,” lachiwelu, November 19 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Poyambirira lero, NEF executives announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the fight card. Aaron “Osatekeseka” Lacey (3-0) has signed on to face Taylor rahan (6-6) pa nkhondo kulemera 145-mapaundi.

Lacey is riding high on a three-fight win streak to start his professional career. He will be looking for his fourth win in a short seven-month period. It would seem that the Young’s MMA featherweight is on the fast track to the next level of the sport. Lacey knows that to get there he will have to continue to face, and defeat, tough veterans like Trahan.

Taylor is a seasoned veteran who has competed against the best New England has to offer for a long time,” said Lacey. “He has a vast amount of experience that is going to be hard to surmount. Ndichita, Komabe, believe I have a strong set of skills that can cause him a lot of problems. This one is going to be a scrap! Angadziwe ndani, maybe another fight of the night!”

Trahan is the definition of veteran. He has competed on the regional mixed-martial-arts scene since 2009. Mwezi watha, Trahan made his debut in the NEF MMA cage, defeating Matt Denning (3-4) via first-round submission. It put an end to a five-fight skid that Trahan had been on. He will look to make it two in a row on November 19 against Lacey.

I’m looking forward to returning to Lewiston to fight for NEF,” said Trahan. “I’m hoping to put on a good show for everyone and come out with the win.

TRAHAN AND DENNING IN SEARCH OF A MUCH-NEEDED WIN IN THE MMA CAGE

Lewiston, Maine (September 5, 2016) – Taylor Trahan is a statistical oddity.

A native of Littleton, New Hampshire, now living in East Concord, Vermont, the 25-year-old pursued mixed martial arts seven years ago, soon as he was legally old enough to do so. He has entered the cage a total of 20 times in professional and amateur competition.

All that experience in this neck of the woods, yet his featherweight bout against Matt Denning at “NEF 25: Heroes and Villains” on Loweruka, Zisanu Ndi Ziwiri. 10 at Androscoggin Bank Colisee will be his debut with New England Fights.

Trahan (5-6) is not buying the underdog or bad-guy label, even though he will walk into the historic arena in a city that Denning (3-3) calls home.

“This is only a two-hour trip (each way) for most of my fans,” Trahan said. “Most of them are used to traveling four hours or more to watch me fight. They’re like, 'Oh, sweet.’”

Both fighters hope the matchup will reverse their recent career fortunes. Trahan has lost five consecutive fights since a red-hot start to his pro docket, while Denning has dropped three of his last four contests.

Denning is quick to point out that the results are deceiving on both sides.

“He fought a guy named Joe Pingitore. Beat him the first time with a rear naked choke and then lost to him in the rematch,” Denning said. “That’s a guy who is one of the best 145-pounders in New England.”

If anyone has the right to consider himself an expert in ranking those middle weight classes, it’s Denning.

The local favorite known as “Ken Doll” has never shied away from fighting the best that NEF has to offer fighters in the neighborhood of 145. Denning twice defeated Derek Shorey. He inched upward in weight, unsuccessfully, against Jon Lemke at 150 and Josh Harvey at 155. Ambiri posachedwapa, Brandon Bushaw beat him by submission at “NEF 24: Promised Land” in June.

“You think about Lemke and Harvey, and I train with Jesse Erickson (at Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu),” Denning said. “The only one really missing is Devin Powell. I feel like I’ve fought and trained with the best group of guys around.”

Jiu-jitsu is the go-to for both fighters. Trahan is a brown belt, while Denning is a purple belt.

In other areas, their styles clash. Three of Trahan’s pro wins have come by decision. Denning, meanwhile, has never gone the distance as a pro. He only went to the cards once as an amateur – a loss to Dom Cofone in his cage debut.

Trahan stopped short of a prediction but said that he expects to prevail by submission.

“I see it being a slow first round for at least the first couple minutes,"Iye anati. “Then once I get my timing down and start doing the things I want to do, I don’t see it going into the third round.”

Denning has prepared for a lengthy encounter. He confessed that he smoked through most of his career but has quit.

Couple that with a renewed commitment to road work and Denning forecasts that his fans will be pleased with his readiness for the relatively unknown foe.

“I believe the longest fight I’ve had was two minutes left in the third round,” Denning said. “I feel good conditioning-wise. I’m a shorter guy, so I’ve got to stay at 145.”

He said that sparring against Erickson has prepared him for the taller Trahan.

Denning believes that his striking and wrestling are superior to Trahan’s repertoire, but he complemented his rival by adding that he considers him another in a line of rugged opponents.

“I wanted to pick someone hard to fight. This is my fourth fight in six months,” Denning said. “Before that I took a year off. The last time I won in Lewiston was September of last year. I’m hoping the hometown advantage will help a little bit this time.”

Given the unpredictable nature of MMA, pro fighters must have short memories while applying the hard lessons they learn from losses. Trahan, like Denning, thinks he has achieved that.

“I’ve learned that I have to stick to what I know, and don’t do what’s not me,” Trahan said. “I think that in order for me to win, I have to take it to the ground. I favor the ground style. He’s excellent on the ground, Osandibweretsera zolakwika, but I’ve seen some things I think I can exploit.”

The opening bell this Loweruka, September 10 amamasulidwa chifukwa 7 p.m. The current docket for “NEF 25: Heroes and Villains” includes three professional boxing matches, five pro mixed martial arts bouts and five amateur MMA scraps. DENNING INKS NEW NEF DEAL; WILL FACE TRAHAN AT NEF 25

Lewiston, Maine (August 15, 2016) - New England Kumenyana (NEF) umabwerera kwa Lewiston pa September 10, 2016 with the fight promotion’s next event, “NEF 25: HEROES & VILLAINS.” Poyambirira lero, NEF executives announced the re-signing of Lewiston featherweight mixed-martial-artist Mat “Ken zidole” Denning (3-3) to a new developmental deal. The first fight of the deal will see Denning face Taylor rahan (5-6) on the main card ofNEF 25.

I’m excited to have signed another contract with NEF,” anati Denning. “I was planning on retiring, but I still have too much fight left in me. I haven’t been doing great record-wise, but if people have seen the opponents I have faced and the performances I put on, they know I’m evolving.

Denning, membala wa pakati Maine ku Brazil Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ), has had eleven of his thirteen combined amateur and professional fights in the NEF MMA cage. He signed his first developmental deal with the promotion in the fall of 2014. Denning got off to a 2-0 start as a pro before dropping three of his next four. He says that his new focus will be on improving his abilities through tough fights rather than trying to pad his record.

I’m excited to fight Taylor Trahan. He’s a tough, lolimba nkhondo, but I wanted it. I need the motivation to get back in prime shape like I was when I fought Jeremy Tyler and made my pro debut against Derek Shorey. I’m over records. I’m done with everyone’s opinions. I talked to my coaches and team and I’m going to fight tough guys and do my best to beat them and get better. When I am finally done fighting, I want people to remember that I fought extremely tough opponents and did very well. Thanks to Matt and Nick for asking for me back. I plan on putting on a great show come September 10th. Angadziwe ndani–maybe the NEF fans will see me in the boxing ring soon! Oss.

Looking at the length of his career, it is hard to believe Taylor Trahan is only 25-years-old. The native of Littleton, New Hampshire, and current resident of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, made his amateur MMA debut back in 2009, shortly after his 18th birthday. Seven years and 26 fights later, Trahan is recognized as one of the most prolific competitors in all of New England MMA. While he has fought in every corner of the region, Trahan has yet to step into the NEF MMA cage. He predicts that he and Denning will put on an exciting, fight-of-the-night performance in his NEF debut.

I’m looking forward to being a part of NEF 25,said Trahan. “NEF always puts on a great show. I’ll be fighting Matt ‘Ken Doll’ Denning. He’s a game opponent, but I see holes in his game that I’ll be looking to exploit. I predict the fight having a lot of fireworks and being fight of the night.
