NEW YORK (Février. 22, 2016)–Undefeated world champion Keith Thurman sustained an injury as a result of a car accident that has forced his Mars 12 welterweight title defense against Shawn Porter to be postponed. The announcement was made today by promoter Lou DiBella, president of DiBella Entertainment. According to his doctors, Thurman’s injuries are not considered serious and he is expected to be cleared to resume training in the coming weeks. Thurman vs. Porter was the main event of a scheduled two-fight card to be broadcast in prime time on CBS. This fight and the network broadcast will now be rescheduled for a later date.
DiBella Entertainment, Mohegan Sun and Showtime are evaluating the option of continuing with the remainder of the fight card on Samedi, Mars 12 with a transition of television coverage to SHOWTIME. Complete details are forthcoming.
“While it’s unfortunate that we must temporarily postpone this marquee matchup, a main event of the magnitude of Thurman vs. Porter requires both fighters be healthy and at their best.” said DiBella. “Keith is anxious to resume training as soon he is able and both he and Shawn are looking forward to a new fight date.”

LAS VEGAS (Février 19, 2016) – Welterweight star “Showtime” Shawn Porteropened up his training camp to media Jeudi at Porter Hy-Performance Center in Las Vegas as he prepares for his primetime showdown with welterweight world champion Keith "Une fois" Thurman sur Samedi, Mars 12 on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING on CBS presented by Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) from Mohegan Sun Resort in Connecticut.

“Training camp is going great. It’s been hard work as always and nothing really different specifically for this fight. Obviously it is always a different game plan for a different fighter but that’s about it.

 

“I’m not making too many adjustments from my previous fight, just taking what I learn from each fight and take those learning experiences with you. Going into this fight we will definitely have some of our past experiences show up.

 

“It is getting closer. I feel it every day. It’s approaching and the excitement is brewing. The closer it gets the more excited and more focused that I get.

On being perceived as the underdog…

 

“I do not feel like I am coming in as the underdog. In order to be the champion, vous devez battre le champion. That is my outlook on this fight, not only to outpoint him but to make it very decisive and dominate the fight.

“I would say that for the majority of this fight it is probably going to be me as the aggressor. He likes to bully guys at the beginning of the fight to wear them down to feel himself out.. We’re expecting him to move a lot more against me.

 

“We’re going to be aggressive, we’re going to be smart, we’re looking beyond this fight.

“In my last fight I didn’t get hit very much and I am taking that same mindset and defense into this fight.

On being the next Floyd Mayweather Jr…

 

“I am expecting to beat Keith and be the guy that everyone looks at.

 

“When you go up against someone at a high level like this, you go up and you show out.

 

“As far as Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, I think those faces are going away. The welterweight class is exciting and there’s going to be a new face on the top of that ranking. I’d like that face to be me.

 

“I don’t make any predictions; I just know I am going to win.

 

“I have been waiting for this fight since 2013. I had just gotten my title then and I could see the way his career was moving that there was a collision course. We didn’t know how long this fight would take to happen or when it would happen, but we knew it was coming.

 

“When I was told this fight was happening all I could think was ‘Ok, let’s do it’ and it took some time to make the fight happen but when we finally did our faceoff, it felt great to look him in the eyes and let him know ‘I’m coming after you.’

 

“For me to fight Keith it has always been something that was a part of my career, all business not personal. It was just something that I needed to do to get to where I want to be.

 

“Keith Thurman is a good fighter. Nothing really sticks out to me as something I should worry about. He’s a good athlete and a good boxer, but he is very beatable, he just hasn’t been beat yet.

 

“You’re only as good as you’re last competition. If you look at the Kell Brook fight, I was not as good as I should’ve been. Since then I am very good, but still I feel that you are only as good as your last fight until you prove otherwise.

 

“It is and isn’t personal. For Keith to be considered one of the top dogs in this weight class, it is personal to me to beat him and reign over him. Other than that, it is all business.”

Autres Berto: I’ve got the Panthers by a dime. Homme, that Broncos’ defense is ferocious! I’ve never seen any team get after a guy like they got after Tom Brady. So how is my boy Cam Newton gonna handle them? Have you seen Cam run? He’s gonna run right over them.
Against the Patriots, that defense was allowed to be ferocious, but Cam won’t allow that. As for [Broncos running back] Ronnie Hillman, he’s my dude; he’s just gotta work on them hands a little bit.
Dominic Breazeale: I’ve got the Panthers winning, 35-21. Cam Newton is just having way too much fun, and at this point, I would have to say the guy is unstoppable.
Omar Douglas: I’m going with Panthers. Cam Newton has played great all season and almost went undefeated. He is not your average quarterback. He can throw the long ball or run it in for a touchdown. And on top of it all, he’s having fun. It’s hard to beat a guy like that!
Omar Figueroa Jr.: I don’t want to give a prediction. I love the Broncos like I love the San Antonio Spurs. But the Panthers are the Golden State Warriors of football right now. I see the Broncos having a really hard time keeping up.
Miguel Flores: Carolina has been smashing everyone, and Denver has been somewhat inconsistent. But after the Broncos’ most recent games and their showing on defense, I will have to stick with the famous cliché: “Offense wins games, defense wins championships.”
The Panthers have shown that they can be great offensively, but their defense hasn’t always been on point. So I’m going with the Broncos in a tight one.
Danny Garcia: I’m going with the Panthers. They’re rolling right now. They’ve got youth and energy, and they’ve got a lot of momentum going into the game. If they just stay focused and don’t party and get caught up [in the hype], they’ll win it.
Terrell Gausha: Panthers, because my bro that I went to high school with plays for Carolina: wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. Plus, I think they are just that good.
Tony Harrison: Carolina Panthers all the way. As a former high school quarterback, I love what Cam is doing for the game. He’s amazing. Aussi, many people don’t know but my younger cousin, Devin Funchess (pictured above with Harrison while at the University of Michigan), plays wide receiver for the Panthers. So I’m always going with family in any situation.
Julius Jackson: I’ve got the Broncos. They have a better system as far as demonstrating an ability to play as a cohesive unit. That’s what will give them the edge.
Jamal James: I’m gonna have to go with the Panthers, because Cam Newton has been handling business. Plus, that team has kinda been an underdog. But every time people count them out, they come out and refuse to lose, which is something I respect and relate to.
Amir Khan: I would have to say that the Broncos have the veteran leadership in Peyton Manning and they’ve been there before, so they have the better overall experience. Mais au final, the youth and explosiveness of Cam Newton will win the day in what will be a hard-fought Panthers’ victoire.
Paulie Malignaggi: I’m going with the underdog Broncos. Maybe it’s just going with my heart, but I’m a Manning fan, mainly because his brother is the QB for my New York Giants, so I’m keeping it in the family.
Abner Mares: I’m taking the Panthers. Cam Newton has a style on and off the field that just dominates. It’s the Panthers’ an, Cam is a tremendous leader and QB, and it’s time for a new dynasty to be born.
Shawn Porter: I think this is gonna be a great Super Bowl! It’s a very evenly matched game. Both teams are solid on both sides of the ball and have great quarterbacks. Peyton Manning is trying to solidify his status as an all-time great QB, and Cam Newton is trying to establish himself as a future great. I’m having a really hard time picking a winner, but personally I would love to see Cam Newton and the Panthers win.
Michael Seals: I’ve got to go with the Panthers. I’m gonna take Billy the Kid-Cam Newton-over the Old Deputy Sheriff, Peyton Manning.
Errol Spence Jr.: The Panthers will win because the Broncos’ defense will not be able to contain or stop Cam Newton. And the Panthers’ pass defense is too good for a shell-of-himself Peyton Manning. I went to school with [Broncos defensive end] Von Miller, but I want Cam to win.
Antonio Tarver: It’s a destiny type of year for Cam Newton and the Panthers. I don’t think anyone is gonna stop them. While my heart is with Denver and the wise old veteran Peyton Manning-us old guys gotta stick together-I have to put my money on Cam and the Panthers.
All I pray for is to go out like Peyton Manning: attempting to win it all before I retire. But I have to say the Panthers will win.
Austin Trout: I’ve got the Panthers winning. They’re just playing with great team chemistry and great leadership in Cam Newton. But I’m still J-E-T-S till I D-I-E.
Sammy Vasquez Jr.: It’s simple: Panthers all day. They’ve been on fire. Cam Newton deserves it now after putting in the years with the team and all the hard work. They work together as a team, and that’s a great part of being successful.
Deontay Wilder: I like the Panthers because Cam Newton is just on a different level, a force to be reckoned with.
Thomas Williams Jr.: I’m taking the Broncos simply because of the experience factor. Cam Newton’s year has been phenomenal; he is an MVP for sure. But I think Peyton Manning’s postseason and all-around experience will outweigh Cam’s magic.
This will be just another walk in the park for Manning, who has been in the tougher, more grueling games over the course of his career.

Mares compiled a staggering resume over the past five years while earning titles at 118, 122 et 126 livres. Montiel is one of the most skilled boxers of his generation having won championships at 112, 115 et 118 pounds over a 17-year career.

“Showtime” Porter has built one of the most impressive resumes in the division since making his welterweight debut in 2010. Porter, who surprisingly turned professional as a super middleweight (168 livres), won the IBF crown in 2013 with an impressive unanimous decision over Devon Alexander.

 

The physically-gifted and offensive-minded Ohio native knocked out former two-division world champion Paulie Malignaggi with a brutal clean right hand in April of 2014 in the lone defense of his title. Porter lost the IBF belt less than four months after the Malignaggi victory in a close majority decision defeat to undefeated British superstar Kell Brook, but he bounced back with a fifth-round knockout of Erick Bone in March of 2015. Porter scored what many considered an upset victory in his next bout over then three-division world champion Adrien Broner with a clear unanimous decision last Juin 20 à Las Vegas.

Las Vegas (Septembre 11, 2015) – Premier Champions de boxe (PBC) a annoncé que plusieurs meilleurs combattants vont faire des apparitions personnelles sur son stand Box Fan Expo (Cabine 21) Samedi, Septembre 12e au Convention Center de Las Vegas. Les opportunités se rencontrent et-salue font partie de l'engagement continu de PBC à élever l'expérience de fan de boxe – fournissant tous les fans l'accès aux meilleurs combats et les combattants dans le sport grâce à des partenariats avec des partenaires du réseau CBS, ESPN, FS1, NBC, NBCSN, Épi, BounceTV, FOX Sports et ESPN Deportes.
Fighters apparaissant à la PBC Booth comprendront invaincu champion poids plume actuelle Leo Santa Cruz frais de sa extraordinaire de 12 rounds victoire de bagarre sur Abner Mares, surnommé par beaucoup comme un candidat pour “Combat de l'Année.” Il sera rejoint par le champion poids welter invaincu Keith Thurman, considéré par beaucoup comme un possible “héritier présomptif” à Floyd Mayweather, et son étoile compagnon poids welter et ancien champion Shawn Porter. Las Vegas (Sept. 8, 2015) – Huit fois champion du monde Thomas “The Hitman” Hearns a confirmé qu'il apparaîtra et avoir un stand au Convention Center de Las Vegas pour la deuxième exposition annuelle Fan Box qui aura lieu Samedi. L'Expo de boxe coïncidera avec le Floyd Mayweather vs Andre Berto combat de championnat, qui aura lieu plus tard ce soir et week-end Indépendance mexicaine.

Hearns plus connu comme étant “The Hitman,” est devenu le premier boxeur de l'histoire à gagner des titres mondiaux dans quatre divisions. Il serait également devenir le premier boxeur de l'histoire à remporter cinq titres mondiaux dans cinq divisions différentes. Hearns a été nommé Ring Magazine Fighter de l'année en 1980 et 1984 et est surtout connu pour ses combats avec Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler et Roberto Duran. Il a été intronisé au Temple de la renommée en boxe 2012.
Hearns sera également avoir en main, T-shirts, des gants et des photos signées pour les fans d'acheter et de profiter.

Lcomme Vegas (Juillet 21, 2015) – Jacques “Extinction des feux” Toney, un champion de 12 temps du monde dans cinq catégories de poids différentes, a confirmé qu'il apparaîtra au Convention Center de Las Vegas pour la deuxième Expo Fan Box annuelle, Samedi, Sept. 12, 2015. L'Expo Fan Box coïncidera avec le dernier combat de Floyd Mayweather Jr. et le week-end indépendance du Mexique.
Toney est un ancien IBF moyens, super-moyens et champion du monde cruiserweight. Il a été considéré comme l'un des plus grands combattants défensifs de son époque et était invaincu dans sa première 46 concours épisodes. Toney a combattu au niveau élite depuis plus de trois décennies et est une valeur sûre première Hall of Famer de vote. Toney détient victoires notables plus Michael Nunn, Reggie Johnson, Mike McCallum, Iran Barkley,Vassiliy Jirov et Evander Holyfield. Avec plus 90 combats professionnels dans sa carrière, pas une seule fois at-il jamais été assommé et aucun arbitre n'a jamais eu à le sauver ou d'arrêter un combat, tout en rivalisant. Toney a également reçu Ring Magazine et de boxe Writers Association of America Fighter de l'année 1991 et retour de chasse de l'année 2003.

Toney partagera un stand avec l'ABA (Boxe Américaine Association) et avoir des photos, des gants et des marchandises pour ses fans puissent en profiter et l'achat.

Las Vegas (Juillet 13, 2015) – Ancien WBC, Champion WBO et Anneau Sergio “Merveille” Martinez et Brooklyn FitBoxing a confirmé qu'ils vont apparaître et avoir un stand au Convention Center de Las Vegas pour la deuxième exposition annuelle Box Fan qui aura lieu le samedi septembre. 12, 2015. Martinez est un boxeur professionnel retraité Argentine. Il est l'ancien Lineal, The Ring, WBO et WBC champion des poids moyens, et son 50 mois règne comme champion des poids moyens Lineal se classe comme l'un des plus longs de l'histoire de la division. Martinez était auparavant dans la division lumière-moyens, où il a occupé le titre de lumière-moyens WBC (provisoire puis élevé à plein statut champion).

Martínez était autrefois considéré comme le numéro trois de livre-pour-livre meilleur boxeur dans le monde — derrière Floyd Mayweather Jr. et Manny Pacquiao — par la plupart des nouvelles et des sites sportifs boxe, y compris Sports Illustrated, ESPN, Yahoo! L'Expo de boxe coïncidera avec le dernier combat de Floyd Mayweather Jr. et le week-end indépendance du Mexique.

 

Spectaculaire victoire de Porter sur Adrien “Le Problème” Broner sur Juin 20 a une nouvelle fois confirmé lui comme l'une des étoiles les plus brillantes et les meilleurs boxeurs welters dans le monde. Il est formé et géré par son père Kenny Porter. Shawn Porter a remporté le titre de champion poids welter IBF sur Décembre 7, 2013 en battant Devon Alexander. Porter a ensuite défendu son titre en assommant l'une des plus grandes stars dans la division poids welter, Paulie Malignaggi, dans le quatrième tour. Originaire de Cleveland, Shawn Porter est un 2006 Diplômé Stow Lycée, et après le sport l'une des carrières les amateurs les plus décorés de l'histoire américaine, il a fait une transition en douceur pour devenir un professionnel 2008.
