Sampson Boxing Signs Openly Gay South American Boxer Oscar Bonifacino to Promotional Contract

Ka 29, 2025 – Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz proudly announces the signing of super featherweight prospect Oscar “La Bestia” Bonifacino, South America’s first openly gay male professional boxer.

Bonifacino (1-0, 1 KO), a 21-year-old from Maldonado on the Southern Coast of Uruguay, started boxing four years ago to escape the homophobic violence he was suffering and immediately began showing a talent for the sport.

“I had already been hurt a couple of times, and I was having problems on the street,” recalled Bonifacino. “Boxing was my way of channeling all my anger.”

Trained from the start by Coach Elizabeth Cabrera at Knockoutcentro Gym, Bonifacino is a counterpuncher with the ability to be explosive when needed. He made his successful professional debut last February with a second-round knockout over countryman Matias Agustin Gabrielli.

“Signing with Sampson was the best thing that could happen to me,” added Bonifacino. “Through my quest to be world champion, he can help my story reach all those who need it to be free and not judged. I fight for all those who at some point could not raise their voices and I will always be grateful to Sampson for giving me the opportunity.”

Sampson Boxing Signs The Cuban Menace, Pablo Vicente, ho le Promotional konteraka

Vicente, currently residing in Panama City, Panama, but originally hailing from Havana, Cuba, e ntse e behiloe haholo #10 in the world by the WBC. A former decorated amateur on the vaunted Cuban National Team, Vicente (17-1, 15 Kos) ile professional a 2016 and has gone on to stop all but three of his professional opponents.


The 28-year-old will make his Sampson Boxing debut on Friday, October 29, at the Centro de Convenciones Vasco Nunez de Balboa, Bella Vista, in his adopted home of Panama City in a 10-round showdown against Argentina’s Javier Herrera (17-4-1, 8 Kos) for the WBC Continental Americas Super Featherweight Championship.


“I am very happy to have gained a promoter who can properly move my career in Sampson,” said Vicente. “Our plan is to begin fighting in the US and start climbing up the ladder to a world championship. I am going to train like never before because I know I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to reach all my dreams as a fighter.”


Lewkowicz, boxing’s premier talent scout, says Vicente will make a great addition to his ever-growing stable of contenders, prospects and champions.

The massive 6′ 6″ Fundora is a 23-year-old southpaw with an incredible 80-inch reach who has been building a respected name for himself among 154-lb fighters with a string of very impressive performances. The Coachella resident was last seen on May 1, scoring an exciting TKO 4 over Mexican perennial contender Jorge Cota on the Ruiz vs. Arreola PPV event at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.


The 5′ 11½″ Garcia is a 28-year-old right-hander from Torrelavega, Cantabria, Spain. A 2019, he captured the European Super Welterweight Championship with a 12-round unanimous decision over England’s then-undefeated Ted Cheeseman and successfully defended it three times. He also captured the WBC International Super Welter Title in 2016 and again in 2017 and made one successful defense. In In his last ring appearance, Garcia stopped France’s Gregory Trenel in six rounds in December of 2020.

Felipe Gomez will now be managing the career of hard hitting and former IBF World Super Bantamweight Champion Guzman, who hails from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing proudly announces the signing of undefeated Panamanian lightweight Jose “El Magnífico” Nunez.
19-year-old Nunez is considered one of the most exciting Panamanian prospects to watch. He was awarded the title of “Prospect of the year 2017” by his homeland’s press and the Panamanian Boxing Commission.
Originally from Curundu Panama, Nunez started fighting at the early age of 10, holds an undefeated record of 5-0 e le setsebi.

Sampson Lewkowicz proudly announces that budding superstar, and WBC World Super Middleweight Champion, David “Le Lefubelu Flag / Red Flag” Benavidez has renewed his exclusive Sampson Boxing promotional agreement.
20-year-old Benavidez (19-0, 17 Kos), became the youngest super middleweight world champion in boxing history by winning a split decision over Romania’s Ronald Gavril last September. The Phoenix-based slugger says he’s happy to continue his promotional relationship with Lewkowicz.
“Sampson is a great promoter and he’s done a lot for me,” said Benavidez. “He’s always treated me and my team with respect and I was eager to re-sign with him. I can’t wait to defend my title against the best and become the great fighter I am with Sampson on my team.”
Father, co-manager and trainer Jose Benavidez says signing with Sampson was an easy decision for Team Benavidez.

Salinas, who has been boxing since age nine and had over 100 tsenwe lintoa, says his incredible height comes from his father/trainer Freddy Fundora’s Cuban side of the family. His mother is of Mexican descent.
