Ruben Torres vs. Cristian Mino all set for February 18th Thompson Card

ORANGE, CA (February 2, 2022) – Thompson Boxing’s undefeated rising star, lightweight Ruben “Ace” Torres (17-0, 14 KOs), has an opponent for his upcoming main event bout as he will face the dangerous Argentine power puncher, Cristian Mino (20-4-2, 17 KOs). Torres vs. Mino, an 8-round main event bout, will headline Thompson Boxing’s “New Blood” event, on Friday, February 18th, 2022.


This event will take place at the Doubletree Hotel Ontario, CA. Doors open at 6:30 pm PT with the first fight starting at 8:00 pm PT. Tickets are priced at $50, $75, and $100, are available for purchase by calling 714-935-0900, or online at ThompsonBoxing.com.


“I’m happy to be back in the main event for the next Thompson Boxing show,” said Torres from his training camp. “I must be tested if I want to become a champion and I know my promoter will challenge every step of the way. Mino is a dangerous fight because he has a lot of power, but I have complete confidence in myself to be victorious. These are the type of fights I’ve been seeking.”


In the 8-round co-feature, Isaac “Dinamita” Zarate (16-5-4, 2 KOs), of San Pedro, Calif., will square off in a rematch against Horacio Garcia (34-4-1, 25 KOs) in the featherweight division.


“I’ve been waiting patiently to return to the ring and what better than a rematch against Horacio Garcia,” said Zarate. “I beat him the first time out and I’m sure he will be seeking revenge, so I’m expecting this to be a grueling fight. I’m ready to bring the best out of me for my hometown fans and get back in the win column.”

Welterweight Loui Lopez (9-1-1, 4 KOs) of Corona, Calif. will face Cristian Dominguez (11-3, 6 KOs) of Las Vegas, Nevada. (6-rounds)


Featherweight Japhethlee Llamido (10-0, 7 KOs) of Norwalk, Calif., battles Eric Barrios Santos (3-1, 3 KOs), of San Marcos Calif. (6-rounds)


Heavyweight Oscar Torrez (7-0, 4 KOs), of Rialto, Calif., will face Daniel Najera (9-6-1, 4 KOs) of Monterey, Mexico. (6-rounds)


Opening the card will be super bantamweight clash between Ivan Zarate of San Pedro, Calif (3-0, 1 KO), and Sean Brewer (1-0), of Las Vegas, NV. (4-rounds)

Power Puncher “El Explosivo” Miguel Madueño (22-0, 20 KOs) Makes USA Debut on Thompson’s 3.2.1. Boxing

CORONA, CA (April 13, 2021) – Thompson Boxing Promotions returns on Sunday, April 18th, 2021, with yet another action-packed night of fights as 3.2.1. Boxing returns with three exciting bouts. Former super lightweight world title contender, Petr “Zar” Petrov (41-6-2, 22 KOs), who was scheduled to open up the show, is now off the card. 
 
The 8-round main event featuring Ruben “Ace” Torres (14-0, 11 KOs) vs. Diego Contreras (11-3, 5 KOs), will remain intact. The 8-round co-main event will now showcase Mexican power puncher, Miguel “El Explosivo” Madueño (22-0, 20 KOs) vs. Bergman Aguilar (15-6-1, 5 KOs). The opening bout will stage TBP’s George “El YuYu” Acosta (10-1, 1 KO) vs. Edgar “Pito Lupillo” Ramirez (17-16-1, 14 KOs) in super lightweight bout scheduled for 6-rounds.

pages. 3.2.1. Boxing will take place at the Omega Products International Event Center in Corona, CA, and will start at 2:00 p.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. ET.


Madueño, who hails from Guasave, Mexico, will be making his USA debut. The knockout artist possesses power in both hands and promises to display ferociousness in the ring this Sunday.
 
“I want to make my USA debut a memorable day, showcasing an immense display of speed and power that God has blessed me with,” said Miguel Madueño, who is coming to U.S. soil for the first time will make his home in Santa Fe Springs, CA. “Anyone who has seen me fight, knows I like to throw a lot of power punches. I can’t wait to get going against Aguilar this Sunday afternoon.”


“We’re thrilled to show the world the talents of Madueño,” said promoter Ken Thompson. “It’s unfortunate that Petr Petrov couldn’t make it to the States, but we feel we have a fantastic bout to fill in the slot.”

Ruben Torres Replaces Michael Dutchover Headlining Final 3.2.1. Boxing Event of 2020

CORONA, CA (December 8, 2020) – Thompson Boxing Promotions has a new main event for their Sunday, December 20th 3.2.1. Boxing event. Ruben “Ace” Torres (13-0, 11 KOs) will be replacing his stablemate, Michael “The West Texas Warrior” Dutchover (14-1, 10 KOs), of Midland, TX, who will no longer compete on the card.  Torres will be taking on Jose Luis “La Boa” Rodriguez (23-13-1, 13 KOs) in the new eight-round main event.


“I am happy to get the fight, but it is bittersweet since my teammate Michael Dutchover doesn’t get this opportunity,” said Torres. “I have stayed in the gym with my coach Danny Zamora and was helping with camp already, so I am ready to step-up and headline the card. I’m looking forward to putting on a great performance against Rodriguez.”

pages. 3.2.1. Boxing will take place at the Omega Products International Event Center in Corona, CA, and will start at 3:30 p.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. ET.


Torres will be forced to use all of his tricks in the ring to handle the crafty veteran Rodriguez, who has been in the ring with the likes of WBA Super Lightweight champion Mario Barrios (26-0, 17 KOs), Felix Verdejo (27-1, 17 KOs), Antonio Orozco (28-2, 17 KOs), Bakhtiyar Eyubov (14-2-1, 12 KOs), Jose Pedraza (28-3, 13 KOs), and Sharif Bogere (32-2, 20 KOs).


In the 8-round co-feature, two of Thompson Boxing’s own will face off as Saul “The Beast” Sanchez (14-1, 8 KO), of Pacoima, CA, takes on Mario Hernandez (10-1-1, 3 KOs), of Santa Ana, CA will battle each other inside the right testing the waters of the super flyweight division.


Middleweight Richard “Cool Breeze” Brewart Jr. (7-0, 3 KO), of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, will take his social media feud with Louis Hernandez (8-0-1, 6 KOs), of Jackson, MS, to the ring in an entertaining six-round opening bout.


“We’re disappointed that Micahel couldn’t be on the card, but this is a great event,” said promoter Ken Thompson. “From Brewart vs Hernandez to Saul Sanchez vs Mario Hernandez, and now Ruben Torres in the main event, this is a stacked card that I am excited to watch.”

RUBEN TORRES KICKS OFF THOMPSON’S 20th ANNIVERSARY

Unbeaten Lightweight Torres to Headline Against Slugger Gabino Cota

ORANGE, Calif. (Feb. 11, 2020) – Lightweight prospect Ruben “Ace” Torres (11-0, 9 KOs), will headline Thompson Boxing’s “Path To Glory” event on Friday, Feb. 21st, from the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif.
 
Torres, who is rapidly making a name for himself with his aggressive style, headlines his third straight Thompson Boxing card, as he faces the dangerous knockout artist from Sonora, Mexico, Gabino Cota (19-10-2, 17 KOs), in an eight-round main event clash.
 
The 22-year old Torres, who hails from South Central Los Angeles, is guided by Danny Zamora and trains out of the Santa Fe Springs Activities Center in, Santa Fe Springs, Calif. Torres is most known for his power on the right hand, as all but two of his fights have ended by way of knockout. 
 
“This is such a great opportunity for me,” said Torres. “I’m comfortable and happy with my promoter, they are allowing me to elevate my game and are putting me in a great position along with my trainer/manager Danny Zamora. On February 21st, I will look to put on another great performance and like always, fans can expect to see my hands flying.” 
 
Torres is no stranger to headlining a show as his last two outings have been eight-round main event bouts, with “Ace” knocking out his opponents in the first and second round respectively. Standing in front of Torres’ undefeated record is Gabino “The Flash” Cota, who is known for his explosive strength. 
 
“My opponent is not only tough,” Torres said. “He also comes forward at all his fights and we know he has knock out power. Our fight should be a barn burner.”
 
Torres has been working hard in camp, sparring his teammate, super lightweight Michael Dutchover, who is also signed to Thompson Boxing.  
 
“I’ve been getting pushed a lot in camp.” stated Torres, who turned professional nearly three years ago. “I’m getting some great sparring with Michael and other guys as well; my coach is also having me do specific drills that I will use to my benefit. One thing is for sure, I’m going to give the fans an entertaining bout.”
