Wilfredo ‘Bimbito’ Méndez will fight for the WBA Fedelatin title

After winning the Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) vacant Las Americas title last December, Wilfredo ‘Bimbito’ Méndez (9-0, 4 KO's) from Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, will seek a top ranking spot in the World Boxing Association (WBA ) when he faces Nicaraguan Leyman Benavides (13-6-1, 2 KO's) for the vacant WBA Minimumweight Fedelatin title.

 

 

 

 

The Méndez-Benavides duel will take place on Zaterdag, Maart 17 at the Fiesta Hall of the Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo, Dominicaanse Republiek.

 

 

 

 

“The Fedelatin title is of upmost importance because it places the boxer in the top 15 of the WBA rankings and in a matter of two or three additional fights, the opportunity to go for the world title is very possible. We trust in ‘Bimbito’s’ skills so that on Maart 17, Puerto Rico will have another boxer close to a world title opportunity” said Raúl Pastrana, President of management company ‘Spartan Boxing Club’.

In his last fight in Santo Domingo, DR last December, Méndez defeated Dominican Republic’s Juan Guzmán (22-10, 12 KO) by TKO in the second round to capture the UBF belt.

New York, N.Y.. (Oktober 30, 2017)–Victory Sport & Entertainment is verheugd de ondertekening aan te kondigen van voormalig IBF World Junior Lightweight Champion Jose Pedraza voor een meerjarig managementcontract.

Bloemen’ only other pro loss was in 2012 to current WBC super featherweight world champion Miguel Berchelt, while his two draws were both on the road in Mexico and Costa Rica.
Bloemen (pictured to right on the scale) is a past WBA Fedebol lightweight title holder, as well as former World Boxing Council (WBC) FECARBOX and International Boxing Federation (IBF) super vedergewicht kampioen. He has proven to be a dangerous, upset-minded opponent having defeated previously unbeaten boxers Marcos Mojica (12-0-2), by way of unanimous decision, en Gabriel Dorado (9-0) via a first-round knockout.

Vallei, who hails from Bayamon, meets unbeaten Diego De La Hoya, 15-0 (9 KO's), Zaterdag evening over ten rounds in what is expected to be a classic Puerto Rico vs Mexico slugfest. The bout opens an HBO PPV telecast starting at 9 PM ET headlined by the junior middleweight championship fight between pound for pound superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and reigning WBO champion Liam Smith. The card takes place a short distance from Dallas in Arlington, TX at AT&T Stadium, best known as the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Yomar Alamo grabs gold in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico

This match marks the first WBC fight held in Aguas Buenas.

Del Valle excited for Tri State Area return

Bayamon, Puerto Rico (Juli 20, 2016) – As a teenager, Luis “Orlandito” Del Valle left his native Puerto Rico for Newburgh, NY where he resided for seven years. During his time in the Empire State amateur ranks, he made great strides in the ring and won multiple highly-competitive tournaments, most notably capturing the 2004 National Golden Gloves title.

As a pro, Del Valle had his first fight in New Jersey, hoisted the WBA-NABA championship in New York and Connecticut was the state that hosted his first appearance on HBO. Globaal, half of his 24 professional fights took place in the tri state area and the bilingual Del Valle built a solid fan following. Echter, he hasn’t fought in the area since 2012.
