Wilfredo ‘BimbitoMéndez will fight for the WBA Fedelatin title

 

 

After winning the Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) vacant Las Americas title last December, Wilfredo ‘Bimbito’ Mendez (9-0, 4 KO) from Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, will seek a top ranking spot in the World Boxing Association (WBA ) when he faces Nicaraguan Leyman Benavides (13-6-1, 2 KO) for the vacant WBA Minimumweight Fedelatin title.

 

 

 

 

The Méndez-Benavides duel will take place on Samstag, März 17 at the Fiesta Hall of the Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo, Dominikanische Republik.

 

 

 

 

The Fedelatin title is of upmost importance because it places the boxer in the top 15 of the WBA rankings and in a matter of two or three additional fights, the opportunity to go for the world title is very possible. In his last fight in Santo Domingo, DR last December, Méndez defeated Dominican Republic’s Juan Guzmán (22-10, 12 KO) by TKO in the second round to capture the UBF belt.

Victory Sports & Entertainment signs former world champion Jose Pedraza to managerial contract

New York, N.Y.. (Oktober 30, 2017)–Victory Sports & Entertainment is pleased to announce the signing of former IBF World Junior Lightweight Champion Jose Pedraza to a multi-year managerial contract.

Pedraza of Cidra, Puerto Rico hat einen Rekord von 22-1 mit 12 Knockouts. Pedraza says, “I am very happy to sign with Victory Sports and look forward to the next chapter of my career. They represent a number of up and coming fighters and also work with elite fighters like Badou Jack so I feel that Victory is the right team to lead me back to a world championship.

An Olympian in 2008, Pedraza also won medals in numerous international competitions including silver in the 2009 World Amateur Championships in Milan and gold at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games. Blumen’ only other pro loss was in 2012 to current WBC super featherweight world champion Miguel Berchelt, while his two draws were both on the road in Mexico and Costa Rica.
Blumen (pictured to right on the scale) is a past WBA Fedebol lightweight title holder, as well as former World Boxing Council (WBC) FECARBOX and International Boxing Federation (IBF) Super Federgewicht Champion. Dallas, TX (September 12, 2016) – IBF #8 super bantamweight Luis “Orlandito” Del Valle and his team arrived in Dallas this afternoon after leaving Puerto Rico earlier today.
Tal, who hails from Bayamon, meets unbeaten Diego De La Hoya, 15-0 (9 KO), Samstag evening over ten rounds in what is expected to be a classic Puerto Rico vs Mexico slugfest. The bout opens an HBO PPV telecast starting at 9 PM ET headlined by the junior middleweight championship fight between pound for pound superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and reigning WBO champion Liam Smith. The card takes place a short distance from Dallas in Arlington, TX at AT&T-Stadion, best known as the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Currently the International Boxing Federation’s #8 Ranglisten-Anwärter, Del Valle scored 16 seines 22 victories by knockout including nine within the first three rounds. Known for bringing the heat to his foes from the opening bell, Del Valle is accustom to partaking in exciting fights and most recently dropped hard-hitting Thomas Snow twice en route to a unanimous decision victory.

Yomar Alamo grabs gold in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico

Before a euphoric crowd who attended the coliseum Samuel ‘SammyRodriguez of Aguas Buenas, Lokalmatador, Yomar ‘The Magic’ Alamo ( 11-0, 8 KO ) scored a impressive second round TKO over Edgardo ‘Indio’ Rivera ( 7-4-2, 5 KO ) to capture the WBC FECARBOX super lightweight title.
This match marks the first WBC fight held in Aguas Buenas.
Making history in my town is a big deal,” said Yomar Alamo, “I was prepared to leave everything in the ring, and the results were spectacular. Jetzt, I will take a short break and return to the gym as soon as possible because major challenges are coming up and I have to be ready”.
Yomar’s younger brother, Yamil (1-0, 1 KO) successfully debuted by winning by knockout in the first round over Orlando Fernandez (0-4) in the junior welterweight division.
Former National Champion, Fabian Lopez (1-0, 1 KO) defeated Miguel Cruz ( 0-1 ) by TKO in the third round in the middleweight division.
In exciting fights, Garibaldy Gomez (3-0, 2 KO) of Caguas defeated by Ramon Bayala ( 0-6-2 ) by split decision at 122 Pfund. Bayala visited the canvas in the first round. The judges scored 38-37 for Bayala, 38-37 und 39-36 for Gomez. In another action packed fight, Luis ‘Mosley’ Hernandez (1-6, 1 KO) defeasted Victor Rodriguez ( 0-2 ) by knockout in round 4 and Abdiel Padilla (1-0, 1 KO) won via TKO in the round two over Jesus Arroyo (0-1).

Del Valle excited for Tri State Area return

Bayamon, Puerto Rico (Juli 20, 2016) – As a teenager, Luis “Orlandito” Del Valle left his native Puerto Rico for Newburgh, NY where he resided for seven years. During his time in the Empire State amateur ranks, he made great strides in the ring and won multiple highly-competitive tournaments, most notably capturing the 2004 National Golden Gloves title.

As a pro, Del Valle had his first fight in New Jersey, hoisted the WBA-NABA championship in New York and Connecticut was the state that hosted his first appearance on HBO. Insgesamt, half of his 24 professional fights took place in the tri state area and the bilingual Del Valle built a solid fan following. Jedoch, he hasn’t fought in the area since 2012.

Auf August 27, that will change when Del Valle battles an opponent to be announced in a ten round super bantamweight bout at the Bayonne Pavilion in Bayonne, New Jersey.
