FOX Sports PBC Pay-Per-View Headlined By Showdown Between Former Champions Keith Thurman & Mario Barrios

The 32-year-old Hernandez (13-4, 6 KOs) has revitalized his career during his current three-fight winning streak, most recently earning a split-decision over former unified champion Julian Williams in an October 2021 action fight. Hernandez’s previous outing had seen him upset longtime contender Alfredo Angulo in August 2020, with a July 2020 decision over Aaron Coley kicking off the run. Originally from Durango, Mexique, Hernandez now fights out of Stockton, California as he looks to spring another upset on February 5.

LOS ANGELES (Décembre 5, 2021) –Boxing superstar and five-time world champion Gervonta «Tank» Davis put his boxing skills on display, winning a rousing 12-round round unanimous decision over the relentless Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz to retain his WBA Lightweight World Title in front of a star-studded, sellout crowd of 15,850 at STAPLES Center live on SHOWTIME Pay-Per-View, dans un événement présenté par Premier Champions de boxe.

“I am aggressive and speedy by nature, so I came in ready to do my thing. He started slow, wanting to see what would happen, and simply had the wrong game plan. He got a bit tired as the fight went on, took a lot of hard shots from me and it was evident that I caused him a lot of damage.”

HOLLYWOOD DU NORD, CALIFORNIE. (Octobre 26, 2021) – Double champion du monde invaincu David "Le drapeau rouge" Benavídez et son grand frère, concurrent de longue date José Benavidez, a présenté leurs confrontations respectives avant d'entrer sur le ring dans leur ville natale de Phoenix, Ariz. Samedi, Novembre 13 en direct sur SHOWTIME dans un événement Premier Boxing Champions du Footprint Center.

David affrontera l'ancien champion José Uzcátegui dans un combat d'élimination du titre des super-moyens qui fait la une de l'événement, tandis que José affronte l'Argentine Francisco Emmanuel Torres dans le co-événement principal de 10 rondes. Les frères Benavídez ont pour objectif d'impressionner les fans de leur ville natale lors des retrouvailles tant attendues en novembre 13, qui marquera leur première entrée sur le ring à Phoenix depuis 2015.

"J'ai l'impression d'être le meilleur combattant. j'ai les meilleures compétences, plus de pouvoir, plus de vitesse et j'ai plus faim aussi. ça va être une super soirée pour mon équipe. Je sens que je vais y aller et remporter la victoire par élimination directe.

"Beaucoup de gens à Phoenix sont enthousiasmés par celui-ci. j'ai hâte d'y retourner. Le timing est parfait. Pour moi, c'est le plus gros combat de ma carrière. Je suis prêt pour tout ce qui vient à ma rencontre Novembre 13.

"Nous sommes juste concentrés sur Uzcátegui, but of course there are bigger fights for me in the future. If I win this fight, I’m in the number one spot for whoever wins between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant.

“Facing Canelo would be a huge fight in the super middleweight division, but I have to go out there on November 13 and get this victory first.

There’s a lot of pressure and a lot of glory on the line, so I feel like they’re going to be the best they’ve ever been. I’m going to be ready for the winner next.

“I’ve been a pro for eight years already. I just want the biggest fights out there. This is the level I’ve been working to get to for a long time, and we’re finally here at this moment. I want to fight the best of the best and prove myself. I want to show that I’m the best super middleweight in the world.

“Uzcátegui is strong and he has a will to win, but I just believe that I have the better skill set. These are the types of fighters that I need to test myself against. It’s definitely going to be a war, but I’m going to come out on top.”

JOSÉ BENAVÍDEZ

“It feels great to be on this card with my brother, and to be making my comeback in my hometown. There’s going to be a lot of support for me. It’s a great feeling and I’m looking forward to giving my fans a great outcome.

“I had to take a break, but now I have a different kind of mindset. I just want to keep fighting, training and staying ready. I want to get to the top of the super welterweight division.

“The delay has just given me more time to train, more time to get stronger and more time to get ready. I’ve just been making the most of it.

“I’m going to be an animal on fight night. I’m coming for everything. J'ai faim. I’ve been out of the ring for years, so I need to make a statement. That’s what I’m looking to do November 13.

LOS ANGELES (Octobre 21, 2021) – Quintuple champion du monde Gervonta «Tank» Davis et percutant, prétendant poids léger invaincu Rolando "Rolly" Romero s’est retrouvé face à face jeudi lors d’une conférence de presse pour prévisualiser leur confrontation pour la tête d’affiche du championnat WBA Lightweight de Davis en direct sur SHOWTIME PPV dimanche, Décembre 5 au STAPLES Center de Los Angeles dans le cadre d'un événement Premier Boxing Champions.

La troisième attraction consécutive à la télévision à la carte de Davis le verra combattre son ennemi léger et franc Romero, alors que les puissants puncheurs de 26 ans mettent leurs records invaincus en jeu. L'événement marquera le retour de Davis dans le sud de la Californie après avoir éliminé Hugo Ruiz au premier tour devant une foule à guichets fermés en février. 2019.

"Je suis reconnaissant d'être ici pour donner aux fans un autre grand combat. Ceci est ce que nous faisons. ‘Rolly’ est juste là pour parler. Il essaie de parler pour gagner, mais il a peur. Je viens pour combattre.

"Ils ne parlent que de son pouvoir, mais cela est la boxe. Ses compétences ne sont pas à la hauteur des miennes. Il ne peut même pas parler de pouvoir, parce que tout le monde sait que je l'apporte. Vous pouvez tirer des balles, mais comment vas-tu te défendre quand les balles ripostent?

« Il parle depuis longtemps. Il essaie de vendre un combat, mais je vais lui montrer qu'il est con en décembre 5. je ne suis pas là pour parler, je suis là pour me battre. Je ne prends pas ça personnellement. Me, ce n'est pas du boeuf, c'est du business.

"J'étais en mission quand j'ai combattu Jose Pedraza pour le titre. Je n'ai pas fait la poubelle en parlant. J'y suis allé et j'ai prouvé que j'étais un mec top. Ce mec est juste là pour parler. Je vais parler sur le ring en décembre 5.

"Son entraîneur ne travaille que sur la puissance. Ils ne travaillent sur aucune compétence. Il n'a combattu personne comme moi et il va voir la différence.

"Je n'ai jamais refusé un combat. je n'ai peur de personne. Je vais combattre tout le monde. Je combattrai un poids lourd. Ce n'est rien pour moi. J'ai survécu à beaucoup de choses.

«Il est censé venir ici et vendre le combat. je suis censé gagner. Je préfère le punir pour 12 tours que l'assommer rapidement. Une partie de moi veut l'humilier, mais la chose la plus importante à faire est d'aller là-bas et de faire le travail.

"Ce combat est pour les fans. Les fans gagnent décembre 5. Assurez-vous de sortir et de soutenir. Je suis reconnaissant d'être dans cette position. Tout dépend de mon équipe et de ces personnes qui m'ont placé dans une excellente position.

ROLAND ROMÉRO

"Tout le monde va voir décembre 5, Je vais assommer Gervonta. J'espère que tu entends ça.

"J'appelle 'Tank' depuis 2017. Nous étions censés nous entraîner 2018 et il ne s'est pas présenté au gymnase. Il a fait ça deux fois parce qu'il savait qu'il se faisait battre. Décembre 5, tu te fais assommer.

"C'est juste qui je suis. C'est ainsi que je suis né. Je suis entré dans ce sport à 17 ans et j'ai tiré le meilleur parti de ce que j'ai fait. Tout le monde vient me regarder l'assommer en décembre 5.

"Il a une si grosse tête, ça va être dur de passer à côté. Il se fait retoucher par chaque adversaire qu'il affronte. Leo Santa Cruz le battait et Barrios l'atteignait aussi.

"Il veut sortir du ring à chaque fois qu'il est touché. Ça arrive en sparring et chez les amateurs. C'est moi qui ai dû forcer ce combat, parce que j'ai vu pendant des années que c'est un idiot. Il a fait carrière en battant des 126 livres.

"Il ne connaît pas la moitié des choses que j'ai vues et vécues. Je suis ici pour l'assommer sur le ring. Il est arrogant et essaie d'agir comme s'il était dur, mais je l'assomme.

« Manny Pacquiao a aussi un style maladroit, et regarde tout ce qu'il a accompli. Juste parce que je me bats différemment, est-ce que ça veut dire que je n'ai pas de compétences? J'ai mes propres compétences et ils m'ont amené jusqu'ici.

"Je ne vais pas sur le ring en colère, Je suis juste concentré.

Floyd Mayweather, Président de Promotions Mayweather

"Ce sont deux grands combattants. Et quand je dis super, Je veux dire qu'à chaque fois qu'ils sortent, ils produisent. ‘Tank’ est un jeune garçon de Baltimore qui a fait un rêve. Il a traversé beaucoup de choses. Il s'est frayé un chemin jusqu'au sommet. Tu dois le féliciter pour ça. Peu importe ce qu'on dit, il a gagné ses galons.

"Je crois que 'Tank' est l'un des meilleurs combattants du monde. ‘Rolly’ dit qu’il veut combattre le meilleur. Viens décembre 5, ça va être un enfer d'un combat.

"" Rolly "est dur. Il combattra n'importe qui et cet empressement en fait un match intrigant. ‘Rolly’ veut juste prouver qu’il est le meilleur. C'est aussi un sacré puncheur. A chaque fois qu'on lui présentait un adversaire, il a accepté chacun d'eux.

"'Tank' fait des chiffres record. Je lui ai toujours dit que ça viendrait en temps voulu. Je lui ai dit que de la même manière je vends des arènes, tu vas faire la même chose un jour. Il a eu de la patience et c'est ce que nous faisons.

"Ces gars sont l'avenir de la boxe. Je ne vois pas ce combat tenir la distance. Deux artistes à élimination directe invaincus. deux champions. Décembre 5, Je verrai tout le monde là-bas.

CALVIN FORD, Co-entraîneur de Davis

"J'espère que vous continuez à parler" Rolly ". Nous verrons qui parlera encore à la fin de la nuit de décembre 5.

"Romero a un style maladroit, mais la beauté d'avoir deux entraîneurs avec 'Tank,' c'est qu'il n'y a rien pour lequel nous ne sommes pas prêts.

« Le fait que Barry Hunter fasse partie du camp a aidé à calmer ‘Tank’ à bien des égards. Je pense que tout le monde verra la beauté de notre collaboration dans ce combat.

Majority Draw in Co-Main Event

BAKERSFIELD, COMME. (Septembre 18, 2021) – Unbeaten rising lightweight prospect José Valenzuela (10–0, 6 KOs) vaincu Deiner Berrio (22–4–1, 13 KOs) par décision unanime (100-90, 99-91, 98-92) in the 10-round main event of FS1 PBC Fight Night action, and on FOX Deportes, Saturday from Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, Californie.

Valenzuela totally dominated the first three stanzas, landing nearly four times the punches that Berrio landed.

In the fourth and fifth rounds, Berrio found a bit of a rhythm with his unorthodox style and landed a few clean shots on Valenzuela.

Cependant, Valenzuela made some adjustments, continued to severely outwork Berrio and dominated much of the second half of the bout.

Even when Berrio landed a right hand to Valenzuela’s jaw in the eighth round and followed it up with a left hand that briefly stunned Valenzuela and pushed him back, Berrio took his foot off the gas, allowing Valenzuela to regain himself and win the eighth round on two of the judges’ scorecards.

The tenth and final round was an all-out slugfest with both fighters landing their share of blows, but Valenzuela survived the best of what Berrio had to offer and cruised to a wide decision victory.

The co-main event on FS1 featured Rajon Chance (5–0–1, 5 KOs) combattre Elon De Jesus (3–0–1, 2 KOs) to a majority draw (57-55 for Chance, 56-56, 56-56) in a six-round super bantamweight attraction.

De Jesus seemingly jumped out to an early lead, landing several powerful overhand rights in the third round that resulted in a cut opening up on Chance’s forehead.

Dans le quatrième tour, Chance and De Jesus got twisted up with Chance bending down to stabilize himself. As Chance leaned forward, De Jesus landed a blow to the back of Chance’s head. Referee Jerry Cantu immediately deducted a point from De Jesus for the infraction.

Midway through the fifth stanza, De Jesus scored a sensational knockdown with a massive right uppercut to Chance’s jaw. Chance picked himself up off the canvas and complained to Cantu that he couldn’t see anything. Cantu called for a timeout to have the ringside physician examine De Jesus’ eyes and the physician approved the fight to continue.

Although De Jesus dominated the action throughout and scored the only knockdown in the contest, the point deduction resulted in a majority draw with both Chance and De Jesus maintaining their undefeated records.

The FS1 opener showcased Amed Medina (4–0, 3 KOs) défaite Abdur Abdullah (4–5, 0 KOs) par décision unanime (40-35, 40-35, 40-35) in a four-round super featherweight showdown.

Medina, who had never fought beyond the first round in his young career, knocked down Abdullah with a short, right uppercut in the opening frame.

Over the following three rounds, Medina controlled the action, landing nearly three times the punches that Abdullah landed, en route to a lopsided decision.

Figueroa and Fulton were originally scheduled to face each other on Saturday, Septembre 18, before the fight was pushed back due to a positive COVID-19 test for Figueroa.

Benavidez and Uzcategui were originally scheduled to meet on Saturday, Août 28, before the fight was pushed back due to a positive COVID-19 test for Benavidez.
